I called in my order using the number directly from Yelp because the online ordering doesn't allow you to make customizations. The man I spoke to was kind of unpleasant and didn't seem to like taking my order down. I then went to the restaurant to pick up my order, and they didn't know what I was talking about. Turns out the number on this site is for one of their taco trucks in some other location. So they let me place my order and were very nice and apologetic about it. The order was fast and fresh. The man from the truck called me back and said my food was ready after a few minutes and when I tried explaining the mixup, he was rude and hung up. If he doesn't want people calling in orders and not picking them up, he should probably get his number off other locations Yelp pages, I can't imagine this is an isolated incident. If this business has multiple locations, it needs to do better about this sort of thing. My order turned out pretty good. The carne asada was definitely fresh cooked (not old steam tray meat like pretty much everywhere else in town), but the cut wasn't very lean, so there was a fair amount of fat/gristle on the meat, which is unfortunate because everything else about the order was perfect. I also liked their salsa roja which wasn't hot at all but had nice flavor. I feel like this would be a better place to dine in rather than order to go from, especially with all the mixups with the wrong number in the Yelp page. But also they weren't playing music loud when I picked up my food, so that made it seem like I nice place to dine. ***Adding to my review several hours later: I did have to make an urgent visit to the restroom. Results may vary. *** read more

We stopped for a quick bite to eat after winetasting and decided to check out this new spot. The tables are quite small, but I think it's because it is a very small space. They have an outdoor patio as well, but it was too cold to sit outside. There is a small four seat bar inside. I ordered the steak fajitas. I really think they forgot about our order because we sat there for about 40 minutes before we got our food. Even the server came to our table and realized our food wasn't out yet so she had to check on it. By the time I got the fajitas, the meat was overly cooked. The vegetables had shriveled up, and the meat had gone a bit dry. Thank goodness for salsa! We also had a shrimp taco, but it was sad that the tortilla crumbled when we picked it up. That Ahi tuna tostadas were drenched in soy sauce, so that too, fell apart. It was way too salty to eat. I will say that their spicy salsa is pretty good out of the three as well as their chip salsa. Our server was pleasant. She tried to do the best she can. read more

The food is really good and I crave the tacos all the time!! Staff is great and very friendly - one of my favorite places to eat! N

Made it to Fuego Prime in Lodi last Sinday. Good weather that day and almost sat in the patio but we settled in the smaller dining room inside to check the Olympic closing ceremony. The service was quick and friendly. I ordered a Mexican Coke and the award winning quesabirria tacos with that hot consume for dippin' and slurpin.' We also ordered the fish tacos, the shrimp ceviche, rice & beans onda side and the cheesed up jalapeños. Those cheese jalapeños were FUEGO!!That melted cheese encased a fresh, HOT , crunchy chili that had me almost tearing' up. Some were mild but some had that scolville scale turned all the way up. Don't be scared. Order them any and shed those tears proudly. @fuego_209 @downtownlodi read more

Checked out the restaurant week menu at Fuego Primo. It was late January but they already have their Valentine's decor up. This is definitely more of a bar type of vibe. Service was friendly. We tried the strawberry and mango margaritas, the steak enchiladas and ahi tuna tostada, and for dessert the arroz con leche and (because they ran out of churro donuts) vanilla ice cream. Total for two was $40. What a deal. But you get what you pay for. Drinks weren't super strong and the flavors were not as authentic. The rice and beans with the enchilada could use some improvement. And the ice cream was much sweeter than the arroz. Overall, still enjoyable though for a night out, especially for the price. read more

Stopped by this Mexican food spot and ordered the papa rellena with al pastor meat and two tacos to go. One of my tacos was missing, which was a little disappointing considering there wwas nobody else in the restaurant so it's not like they were busy. Partly my fault as I should have checked my order before leaving. The service was friendly and attentive, and there was plenty of outdoor and indoor seating with even bar seating. The food looked great and tasted good -- not amazing, but definitely satisfying. They did offer either green or red salsa, which I chose green and was mild. I do wish they had more variety. Also it did not seem like they have a salsa bar which would be nice. I wish they allowed you to order two different meats on the papa rellena but we were told that was not possible. Portion size of the papa rellena was decent, enough to share between 2 people. Overall, a decent experience with room for improvement. read more

Came here recently for a family birthday dinner. We were put outside, temperature was 42 degrees...they did have heaters outside, but half of them were out of propane so didn't work. It was COLD...and my mom, being a little older, was having a hard time with the cold. Food took forever to arrive, and arrived in different sections, so we were eating while some people were already done eating. Drinks took forever, and I couldn't even order a second because they never came back to ask me for a second drink. Ended up just drinking water . Service was horrible, and I don't blame the server because she did apologize for everything, we understand it's out of her control. I blame the manager and whoever is in charge, you KNEW we were coming and didn't staff correctly. I ordered cheese enchiladas, got meat. My wife ordered flautas with no sauce, just on the side. The flautas were smothered in it, and she had to scrape it off. It was too spicy for her, so an inconvenience. But we weren't the only ones, and because the food took so long we didn't want to send it back. But there were multiple orders sent back, I don't understand why the orders were so messed up. Overall, will not come back. Again, don't blame the server, but overall management. Don't recommend. read more

Went for restaurant week today (Sunday late lunch). I was going to say everything failed except ingredient quality, but as I write this I just bit into a big piece of chicken gristle. I had enjoyed the Fuego truck in the past but have not been back there since having an unsafe experience being harassed in the parking lot. I ordered the Lodi restaurant week special. Chicken enchiladas with a horchata and churro donut. There was NO DESSERT I was so disappointed when I brought it home and so were the others who ordered specials. No mention of this or substitutions made. That's a main reason I went. The other main reason was I wanted a good enchilada. The enchilada itself didn't feel like an enchilada, but basic chicken tacos. I can barely tell if there's cheese and if there is, it's a tiny amount. The red sauce was also minimal, dry on top. An enchilada should be DRENCHED and CHEESY. These look nothing like others' reviews. This was like a rolled up corn tortilla other chopped chicken. The lettuce and tomato additions felt strange. The rice and beans are acceptable. The horchata was pretty good but aside from that I'm really disappointed. Lodi/Stockton has a lot of Mexican options with better quality and lower prices, they'll need to step up their game if they want to stick around. Seeing other restaurant week reviews I'm thinking this is an employee/service problem. read more

Went in to pickup a pastor super burrito and an asada super. Staff service was just ok. They all seemed overwhelmed. Took like ten minutes to pay for my food because there was only one person capable of ringing me up and they had to make a bar drink. Was worth it tho. I'd recommend the super burritos. Very flavorful and correctly made. Lots of meat and proportional ingredients. Tortilla seemed homemade. Was excellent. I asked if there was hot sauce in my bag, the chick asked the chef if there was and he said yes. There was no hot sauce when I got home lol. Place is very small and every table had people seated. They need maybe one more person working. I saw ice cream the chef put out sit for like 7 min and it never got ran to a table lol. I'll be back tho. For pickup only. I recommend the pastor and the asada. read more

Decided to give Fuego Prime a try. Went on a Friday around 5:00. Greeted right away by a friendly employee and told we could sit anywhere. Restaurant is very small inside but has many tables outside in a gated courtyard. We ordered 4 different tacos, chicken enchiladas dinner and fresh made flour tortillas. After about 10 minutes the waitress comes back and tells us they are all out of chicken enchiladas. We decide not to add anything additional and will just try the tacos. Takes another 15 minutes for our taco to arrive. When I ask about my flour tortillas she goes to the back and returns telling me they are all out. As far as the tacos go, the homemade corn tortillas are spot on. Some of the best I've had. Taco filling was just average. We had chicken, asada, shrimp and Al pastor. Would be nice if they offered carnitas. Many taco trucks in town serve better. Training going on throughout visit on dining floor. Could be better served to do training outside of dinner time as it took away from dining experience. Not confident in a Mexican restaurant that runs out of enchiladas and tortillas on a Friday night. I would recommend you give them some time to get adjusted before trying. Not sure if I will go back. read more

We eat at the food truck Fuego on 8 mile road and it is Excellant. The tacos are amazing! Fuego prime was not that. We got there at 3:15 to eat before heading to a funeral service. We were the only diners there. Place feels more like a bar. We were greeted and seated. Placed our order and waited for our food. And waited. And waited. Seems as though the staff or the kitchen was not ready for guests to arrive. I ordered two super tacos with el pastor because they didn't have ribeye for tacos. My wife ordered the enchiladas and requested whole beans instead or refried beans. Then we waited. And waited. The waitress was busy getting ready for other guests almost avoiding us because the kitchen wasn't ready to get us our order. Did not check on us didn't offer more chips and salsa knowing we were waiting a while , did not come and explain what was going on or anything. When the food arrived my wife got refried beans with her order not whole beans and the chicken enchiladas were pretty sad. They looked like they were made with taco meat ( cubed instead of shredded) and hardly any meat in the enchiladas. My tacos were regular instead of super. They were really tasty though. It was then that the waitress explained to us that they just had opened and were not ready. Just communicate with your guests when there is an issue and knowing we were going to be waiting. Maybe offer more chips and salsa. We drove from Manteca to try Fuego prime. I know this restaurant has potential! And we will try them again sometime. Hopefully we have a better experience. read more

My husband and I love Fuego Prime Restaurant!!! The food is prepared beautifully, the flavors are all there. My husband really enjoyed the perfectly grilled lamb chops. My favorite was the ribeye steak tacos, it was perfection, the meat was tender and the homemade corn tortillas were delicious. the Birria is also very good. I tend to gravitate to Mexican restaurants with the best homemade corn and/or flour tortillas. I always felt they have the best food if they take the time to make homemade tortillas, They could have gone to any store, to me, it says a lot. The wait staff was so kind, happy and so great at what the do, making it a fun experience. We purchased some coupons for Fuego Prime around Christmas, gave some as gifts. We were hooked after our first visit, we have been two times since in the last couple months! Nothing changed, all was perfect. Prices are very reasonable, we will be back. We also want to go in the evening so we can sit outside under the lights. They serve breakfast on weekends only, that's our next visit! Plus it feels good to support a small business! So great food, service and ambience. read more

Incredibly nice people here. We celebrated my father-in-law's 80th birthday here after finding them on yelp. The place was empty when we came in, and I was a bit nervous it was going to be a bust. They made great margs to start, were patient with the kids and the old guy while ordering, and I was able to watch Sunday night football on multiple screens. Food was good, they gave us an extra candle for the birthday cake. Clean and fresh decorations throughout the restaurant, and cool bar. Marta and Emily were very attentive. Thanks!! read more

Decided to wait to try fuego to give the restaurant time to work out the opening kinks and I'm glad we did. I've loved their truck on eight mile for the last couple years and the food at prime is the same- fresh and delicious! The restaurant is tiny, only about 5 seats at the bar and a few tables but the patio area is really nice and large to make up for the tiny inside. The bartender who waited on us was super nice and attentive. We ordered a carne asada super burrito, two pastor tacos, and quesabirria tacos. The pastor tacos were my favorite with the best fresh made corn tortillas. I saw on another person's review that the salsa wasn't good, but I def don't agree. It was sweet from the tomatoes and had the perfect amount of kick and lots of garlic flavor, soo good. The only small negative is the menu is pretty limited with only a couple differences from the truck. I hope in time that they expand it and maybe introduce specials. read more

Not in Lodi to often, so not familiar with the resturants, tried Fuego Prime for the first time and kinda picky when it comes to mexican food coming from southern Ca. The service was amazing was helped and seated as soon as I walked through the door. Ordered the Quesibirria Tacos and didn't disappoint at all, some of the best Tacos I've had. Got a side of rice and beans which is always too me a good judgement of a Mexican restaurants food as it's the simplest, and both were delicious. I will be putting this place on places to return to, and would recommend everyone to give it s try. read more

We ordered from here through DoorDash. It was not fuego. It was still hot when we received it so it was plenty fresh but the quality just wasn't there. We ordered an asada burrito which had a lot of tough fatty and burnt/overly charred pieces. Then we got chicken and pastor street tacos. Hubby said the flavor of the pastor gave him the ick to the point he couldn't eat the second one. Chicken was the best of all the meats but overall was very average.. hopefully just an off night for them. read more

Went for dinner last night. Ambiance and service were good but not the food. Chips were not fresh. I got a wet Asada super burrito. Green sauce was bland and the Asada was fatty and chewed like a rubber band. Wife got the Ceviche. Not sure if it was a regional thing but it looked like soup. Lots of liquid and not much flavor.
