We decided to try this place after walking around downtown trying to kill time. I'm so glad we did. It was a Sunday around 2pm and it was a little busy but we were still greeted right away and sat down outside as we requested. There is parking all around but since it is downtown it does get busy where you might have to walk but nothing too crazy. The restaurant is nice and clean and looks very elegant. There is plenty of seating inside and outside. We ended up ordering the wings, and the short rib fried tacos. And after seeing a few customers having this drink we decided to order a coffee martini. Well the wings were absolutely delicious and crispy just like I like them. I was a little confused about the tacos when I took a bite and they were practically frozen but all the toppings were on them. I waited for a server to walk by and asked him if they were supposed to be like that and he said no so he took them back to the kitchen. The waitress did come by and I told her that I had just sent them back and she was also confused since she's the one that recommended them to us. She did apologize and told us they were making them. We got our espresso martini and it was so delicious. We were a little hesitant because we have had a bad one in the past at another restaurant but this one did not disappoint. Our tacos finally and back out and this time they were so hot and crunchy and so delicious. I was a little disappointed that we had to wait longer to get them that we almost just cancelled them because we had to go. But I'm glad we were patient. But honestly I do think maybe a discount should have been given or something just to make it right. But either way we will be back to try other stuff on the menu.
Hey there Party People Recently had lunch at The Market Tavern with family. It had a really good vibe with dark wood giving it a vintage feel. Great outside cafe style seating as well. We had multiple drinks and meals. Everything was very good. The Wine Spritz was elegant with a beautiful flower adding a touch of classs. We had a Michelada de Mexico which was a meal in itself The meals ranged from Carnitas Chilaquiles to Quinoa Salad. Everything was tasty and delightful. Lots or varied options for everyone in the party. A big peeve of mine is having an empty water it tea glass. The wait staff was on it which I loved never had an empty glass. This place had the whole package...good food, drinks, and service. Be kind to one another
Very happy there is now a Market Tavern in Lodi. The food and service are consistently good and it's a great place to meet up with a group of friends. I had brunch for the first time on my most recent visit and enjoyed both the food and service. I do wish they had a slightly larger menu selection. Also to note, if you come with a stroller they may ask you to park it in the front of the restaurant.
Nice spot for wings and drinks! I had some of thee best chicken wings and a beautiful glass of petit verboten! If you are in Lodi and looking for great wings, go here!!
I've been to the Stockton location before, so I was happy to finally get a reservation. Our server was amazing, very attentive. Our food and drinks came out quickly for a busy Saturday evening. Standout: the braised short ribs. The meat was so tender, and the asparagus was cooked perfectly. Dessert: the cheesecake was a great choice, not too sweet, the guava sauce complimented it really well. This is a great place for a date night.
From the minute I walked in the staff was so friendly and so helpful. I accidentally made reservations for the wrong day, but the host Haley accommodated to my friends and I and we were still able to eat and enjoy our evening there! We ordered a few drinks and they were delicious and the food was TOP TIER! 10/10 so good! Thank you for this amazing experience :)
We decided to try the new market tavern in Lodi. We had a reservation and were seated outside. The cars on the road were loud and it was not always pleasant. There was a man standing across the street playing music and that was rather nice when I could hear him. Service was spotty. Had to wait awhile for food, water, after dinner drinks, and dessert. My husband enjoyed his dinner. My chicken Parmesan was okay. It did not taste like freshly breaded but more like pre frozen entree. I would not order it again. We were there for quite awhile. We saw friends go in after us and leave before us due to our slow service. I almost felt like they forgot about us outside. I love market tavern in Stockton and have always had great service and food there. Maybe this was just an off night. I will definitely come back and give them a chance to improve this so-so Yelp rating. I will definitely request to be seated inside!
Very tasty food. Nice ambience & great service by Jose. Old fashioned was very watered down and the fruit crisp dessert was delicious, but lacked any "crisp." Note my photo ... not the best green beans (90% were the palest green) considering we are in sunny California in May.
We made reservations and highly recommend it. This location gets busy early. Our server was very attentive. The chocolate martini was devine. The table order consisted of a burger, soup, pasta and it was all tasty. The soup wasn't on the sweeter side. The burgers were thick and the bacon even thicker. The ambiance was loud and busy but with elegance.

It is located in downtown Lodi on their main street. With that said, there's very limited parking on that street so I would recommend parking behind the bank instead of driving around in circles. We made reservations and were sat at the bar area. It was pretty packed so they begin their timing as soon as we sit, I presume. We started with our drink orders which are very reasonably priced for a nice restaurant. Kudos! We ordered a wedge salad and a pepperoni pizza as an appetizer. It was very shareable for four people. I ordered a chicken Marsala. I typically go for the Sausage Rigatoni because that's my favorite from the Stockton location, but I wanted to try something different. For me, the Chicken Marsala was way too salty. The chicken was bone in and fried which I did not expect. The desserts were good. You can't go wrong with any of them. If you see my pictures, we ordered one of everything. If I would choose a favorite, it would be Pear pie à la mode. Something about the warm pie with the crunch and a bit of cold, goes perfectly. The service was good. I will say we got booted out rather quickly. So keep that in mind.
I really enjoy Market Tavern in Stockton so I was very excited to try this location. Came here for an evening out for a dinner with my mom and some lady friends. We had a reservation for 4. The table we were placed at was incredibly small and we had no room for our food. I even tipped over one of my dressings due to the lack of space. When going to use the restrooms, it appears that one of the toilets needs to be repaired. I informed one of the waiters and they said knowingly that there are challenges with that restroom. I feel that if their bathrooms need maintenance, they should close that stall and work on the repairs rather than leave it available for customers to use. Pretty odd... Salad was good but overpriced for what it was. Halibut lacked flavor and was quite bland. Service was not particularly hospitable or warm. I felt our waitress was a bit annoyed that I tipped over my dressing ... I asked for paper napkins to clean it...

We were told 45-60 minutes, and were pleasantly surprised when it wasn't even 10 minutes for a party of 4. The previous venue closed during Covid, and we love how Market Tavern has renovated. We didn't get a chance to go to the "Market" side, but I'm sure I'll be patronizing soon. It's pretty loud in there when you first walk in, but we didn't notice this at the booth we were seated at. As far as the food, it was on par with the Stockton location. We ordered our favorites. The griddled cornbread and deviled eggs are a must try if you haven't. I ordered my quinoa salad with salmon, and hubby got his chicken Parmesan great as always. I got to try a bite of the crispy duck, and it was delicious. Our server was awesome and very accommodating. Can't wait to come back for our other favorites. We will definitely be back soon!
We went to the Lodi's Market Tavern. Elegantly decorated just like its sibling location in Stockton. Even though we did not have reservations, the staff kindly found a table for us. For starters we had an order oysters and an order of bone marrow. They both tasted as expected-delicious. The oysters were not dry or undercooked. Just perfect. For our entrees our group had the skirt steak which comes with mash potatoes and green beans. The meat was great quality and the beans were cooked al dente. We also tried the chicken Parmesan--big portion accompanied by marinara sauce. Another great choice was the wine braised short ribs: very tender and plentiful atop mashed potatoes and vegetable medley. Real tasty, I had to steal a corner from my wife . We had a great experience. Our server was attentive and helpful. I would definitely go back for more. Happy bites ! read more
It was our first time going here to the Lodi location. We normally go to the one in Stockton because they have a cute little market that is part of the restaurant. The Lodi location is great because you can grab a bite to eat, then do some walking to the cute boutiques or vintage stores afterwards. I ordered the Runaway Bride cocktail. I loved the whole aesthetic of the drink alone but the taste was superb. I'll have to order that again. Their Griddled Cornbread is very good. I ordered their Wood Oven Roasted Mary's 1/2 Chicken. Chicken was cooked perfectly. I enjoyed it. I'll be honest, I like the ambiance at the Stockton location better but overall it was a good experience. Our waiter was great! read more

Food: Amazing seasonal menu. Great cocktails, Seasonal special appetizer: Fresh Burrata with basil oil, pesto, charred tomatoes with baby arugula and fresh pizza dough. Wild salmon entree cooked to perfection with crispy skin, Millionaire Burger with perfectly cooked medium burger and thick slices of pork belly bacon, prosciutto arugula pizza and Cobb salad. Service: very nice wait staff however the folks refilling water wasn't the best. We asked 2x before being refilled. Ambiance: Cool vibe in downtown Lodi, lots of glass and windows to keep the inside airy with modern touches with dark wood tables. Check out their Market with to go items, fresh baked items (cookies to die for but run out typically by 5pm) and wine. We have been consistent customers from their original location in Stockton. read more

Wait time was about 20 minutes--totally reasonable. I would've preferred to sit at the bar, but it was absolutely packed (good problem for them to have). Once seated, the service was excellent. Our server was attentive and genuinely kind, and even the support staff--those bringing water, clearing plates, and delivering dessert--were warm and approachable. It makes a difference. We ordered the kamachi, the bone marrow, and the duck confit. Every dish landed exactly how it should. The standout? The apricot preserve served with the duck--liquid gold. Truly something special I'd come back for. For dessert, we tried the lemon tart cheesecake. It was solid, but the whipped topping and the little crunch pearls on top took it to the next level. I'd order it again just for that texture game. Drinks were on point. My husband enjoyed his smoked Old Fashioned, and I stayed loyal to my Tito's soda. What impressed me most--when I said "no fruit," they actually listened. A tiny detail, but rarely honored, and I appreciated it. Overall, great experience: strong food, standout service, and attention to detail. We'll be back. read more

The food here is absolutely delicious! The mushroom pizza and Mary's Chicken are both outstanding and definitely worth ordering. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the complimentary drinking water has an unpleasant taste. Hopefully that's something they can improve, because otherwise this place is fantastic! read more

Came on the 3rd day of being open. Expected hiccups. For the price of the food, the flavor of the dishes were not up to par. I enjoyed their menu options, but they were also out of a few things on the entree menu and dessert menu. Brussel sprouts were ok, very lemon-y; would prefer roasted peanuts verse raw peanuts, but I would order again. Entrees- Sole, Cauliflower, Stroganoff, and Chicken Parm, were under seasoned. We all had to add salt and pepper to our dishes, which was disappointing. Serving sizes were good. Desserts were ok. The only entree I liked was the fish tacos; this had flavor! Server was very nice. Although busy, I would have liked if he came to check on us more often. We ran out of water several times. Ambiance is nice and appealing. Several unisex bathroom stalls (they could have kept it more clean). Bar is a nice touch. Inside and outside dining areas. I would only come back if the chef made adjustments to the flavors of the dishes. read more
Tristen deserves the first word of this review. She was damn near perfect and for a restaurant on their second day that says A LOT. She was on top of everything and gave honest answers from her own experience when asked for advice. Pretty much everything I ordered was influenced by her feedback. The inside of this place is great with a 1950's kinda feel and industrial highlights. The noise dampening is on point with glass to break up the sections of the building and other features to keep the sound from traveling. All the food was fantastic and a little better than expected. I won't go through each dish but the Khachapuri is a must try along with the skirt steak. They only had one official day of operations under their belt prior to our dinner. It was obvious they had more than enough staff which allowed them to function like they had been open for quite a while. We will be back and are excited to have this choice in Lodi! read more

The only reason they don't get 5 stars is the hostess station. We arrived an hour before our reservation and figured we'd check in. If our table was ready awesome if not there are plenty of places to grab a drink and wait. That's exactly what we told the hostess who told us our table would most likely be on the hour. We waited outside and my dad used the restroom. Upon his exit the hostess told him "they're just cleaning your table and it will be ready". We assumed that meant we'd be seated within 20 minutes. When that didn't happen I went in to clarify and the hostess was extremely rude and said "I didn't give you a timeline" which no she didn't but if you tell me all they have to do is clean the table I assume that means we'll be seated shortly. We left for a drink and appetizer and returned for our meal. Thankfully we had Peter who was not only professional but so efficient. It felt like we were at an even more elevated restaurant, cutlery refreshed after every course, prompt drink refreshments. I told him I had an allergy and he was so on it down to every side dressing and sauce, I've never felt safer eating out. If the hostess wasn't absolutely rude and unclear I would give them five stars. read more

Fraudulent activities!!! The food was ok. And it was nice inside. Came when it was not busy. I left a tip and then when I looked at my final charger on my card they had added an additional 10$. Wasn't worth my time to go back in and ask for them to explain their actions and provide the paper copy. Will not be back. read more

Came here at around 5pm on a Monday holiday and we were able to get a table for three right away. I've been to the Stockton location a few times, so we wanted to check out the Lodi location since we were nearby. We each got glasses of wine and shared the wings as an appetizer. One of us got the skirt steak, one got a pizza, and I got the beef stroganoff. Everything was so delicious. The wings were crispy and slightly sweet and sticky. The stroganoff pasta and beef was so tender with a dollop of sour cream on top. The leftovers were even better. The lighting is a bit dim, both the decor is really nice. The bathroom was clean. The bill for three wines, an appetizer, and three mains was around $180 before tip. Would definitely come back to try other things on the menu. read more

Had Mother's Day lunch here and it did not disappoint! Cute place and the ambiance was really nice! Server was attentive and pleasant! We had the asparagus appetizer, rib eye and pork chop! Served to perfection and food was hot and fresh! Ended with the salted caramel gelato and brown sugar oat crisp! The fruits were delish and it looked yummy! Made reservations and we were taken to our table immediately! Would definitely be returning! read more

boyfriend and I made a reservation for dinner on the day after valentines, and we were greeted immediately by the host and seated. However, it took 20 minutes for a server to acknowledge us. We were later informed by our server that the front of house failed to communicate about seating us in her section, but our server was super apologetic and immediately took our order. She was fantastic!!! Drinks and food came out fast which was awesome and the cocktails tasted amazing!!! We ordered the griddled cornbread for our appetizer and it was fabulous! Next, we ordered a side of jalapeño mac and cheese, the skirt steak, and the short ribs. The short ribs were pretty good, the skirt steak was under seasoned as well as the mashed potatoes for both dishes, and the mac and cheese came out like fridge cold in the middle. We would definitely come back for drinks and maybe a couple appetizers, but I feel there are better options in the area for a sit down meal at this price point. read more
Thank You! Thank You! Market Tavern for opening here in Lodi! For years our family lived going to your Stockton location and once we heard you were opening here in Lodi we couldn't wait. We know it's been a challenge and a wait but OMG thank you! This was such a great experience last night! I saw post on IG from your owner paying respect to the historical building you guys took over and all I can say is wow! This concept and what you have done with this space is over the top amazing! It also brings what DT Lodi had needed for so long is an elevated dining experience that places like Wine & Roses and Pietros's bring. Well done well done and well done!! For food my daughter and I had the beef stroganoff and the chicken marsala but to start we enjoyed a few Manhattan's and she had the Runaway Brides. The food was out of bounds delicious! The homemade noodles with my stroganoff was so elegant and top shelf. Plus the slowly cooked beef and as so flavorful! Truly a perfect dish! My daughter's chicken marsala was another repeat of what I just said...the respect I have to give and being a cook myself is how perfectly juicy the chicken was for this plate. Like if you could've pulled it at a perfect 165 degrees this was it! Then the desert we had to try the cheesecake! I am just going to go out on limb to say that even if you don't eat here for a meal stop here for this cheesecake! I am not going to ruin the end of the movie but OMG this was absolutely the perfect ending to a perfect experience!! Lastly kindly look at the amount of reviews I write on Yelp! vs...the small amount some people choose to be so critical on! Let that guide you and not people that want attention by negative comments. Great Vibe! AMAZING drinks and delicious food! It's always a packed house but it never feels too busy or crowded. We often visit the Stockton location because it's a little closer to home but love to hit Lodi from time to time to enjoy the additional menu items for little change. One thing that doesn't differ between locations is the 5 STAR customer service! A BIG shout to the entire Market crew! We always appreciate our dining experience! If you haven't had an opportunity to try the Lodi location, you should! We LOVE them both! read more
We visited on the second day of the Lodi location being open, so I am being forgiving in my review rating. The restaurant was naturally busy. We waited about 35 minutes for a table. When our time came to be seated, it seemed odd that we were seated in the far back corner where no one else was. We passed by multiple open tables on our way to find ours. For that, the ambience was non existent. We hardly felt that we got to partake in the dining experience. We sat by ourselves next to the staff who were outside taking their breaks. After several minutes of waiting for someone to notice us, our server arrived and said... Sorry for the wait, no one told me that you were over here. We went ahead and ordered dinner and drinks. My husband had Mary's Nashville Spicy Chicken Sandwich, which he has had quite a few times at their Stockton location, but today's sandwich was very dry. My son and I both had the Short Rib Tacos, which were really good! We would definitely order them again. We had to ask a couple of times for drinks that our server had forgotten about. Again, I'm being forgiving with my review rating because the restaurant had just opened. I will definitely be back again to hopefully sit with the rest of the patrons and to try some other menu items. I'll update my review after my next visit. Until we meet again... read more
Great service on opening day. Not too busy because it wasn't advertised. Love how there's outdoor seating. Staff is very tentative. the food was great! the burger was cooked beautifully and the fries were perfection. i do wish adding cheese wasn't such a large charge, but that would be my only complaint about the food. i've heard great things about their appetizers, so i will be back! read more

Amazing! We had Tristan and Zoe... that took care of us. Amazing service. Great personalities. We were a large party with small kids and they were so accommodating. We had the deviled eggs bomb! Skirt steak amaze. And a chocolate hazelnut cake. The drink we had was a gin and tonic fancy one it was gorgeous! This place is sooo cute. read more

Stopped by at the bar for drinks and apps. Love the new decor! Vibes were great. Food was good as well. Will definitely be coming back. Octopus was chef's kiss, drinks are always top notch + strong just how I like it. Service was fast and attentive. Great addition to Lodi read more
