Came with fried capers. 6/5 Casino calms- able to do an appetizer as an entrée, with $30. Refreshing mix of spice, salt and perfectly balanced. Clams were a little bit overcooked. 4/5 French fried- massive amount of french fries on a cake tower. Very good, fresh double fried fries. 5/5 Gnocchi- very nice soft texture and meaty taste 5/5 Street corn- used to be called the Dr. Seuss, waiter. We found Jimmy's through social media and decided to give it a try for our first visit. From what we understand, they've only been open since around July, and I have to say we were really impressed. The food was delicious, the presentation was beautiful, and the atmosphere feels very upscale while still being friendly and comfortable. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, especially once you get inside and see the martini lounge, wine display, and the rest of the dining area. Jade was our main waitress and Abigail assisted throughout the evening. Both of them were extremely sweet, attentive, and really helped give us that high-end dining experience. One detail I especially appreciated was that they cleared the used utensils and brought fresh ones out with each course. It may seem small, but those little touches make a big difference. The whole experience was delicious, friendly, entertaining, and just a really attractive environment to spend an evening in. My only small criticism is that the area can be busy and parking can be hectic. The martini bar/restaurant layout was also a little confusing when we first arrived because it isn't set up exactly like a traditional restaurant entrance, but once Jade explained everything and encouraged us to look around, it made much more sense. We had a reservation for four people inside the restaurant for a birthday celebration. When we arrived on time, we took advantage of the valet parking before checking in with the hostess outside. She walked us in and handed us off to another hostess, who told us they only had an outside table available. My future mother-in-law politely explained that we specifically had a reservation for an indoor table. The hostess briefly spoke with another employee, and moments later we were escorted to a ready table inside near the back bar. The bartender was also our server, and he was very attentive throughout the evening. He mentioned that the restaurant is still owned by the former owners of Pietro's, which has since relocated. We started with cocktails, and I ordered the Purple Rain. It was served in a beautiful champagne flute, but all of the alcohol seemed to settle toward the top while the sweetness stayed at the bottom. I think I would have enjoyed it more if it had come with a small stirrer to blend the flavors together. Before our meal, we were served bread, butter, and fresh mozzarella. The bread and butter were absolutely delicious. Honestly, I could have skipped the mozzarella because the butter was that good. We also ordered the shrimp cocktail as an appetizer. It was tasty, but with only six shrimp for four people, it disappeared almost immediately. For dinner, we each ordered our own steak and shared the Petite Salad, the Gnocchi al Forno, and the Dr. Seuss Special, which was an elote-style corn dish. My steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked just a touch under medium, but it was absolutely delicious. The Petite Salad was a refreshing mix of dressed fruit, vegetables, and cheese. The Dr. Seuss Special was good, although I was hoping for a bit more flavor. The standout side dish was definitely the gnocchi--it was rich, cheesy, and full of hearty meat sauce. Inside, the restaurant is dimly lit and has the feel of a classic old-school Italian steakhouse. Frank Sinatra seemed to be playing all evening, which really added to the atmosphere. Aside from the initial hiccup of almost being seated outside despite having an indoor reservation, we really enjoyed our experience. Think: Classic Italian Steakhouse meets American Supper Club. Jimmys is owned by the same family that owns Pietro's in Lodi. But Jimmys is more of a classic Italian steakhouse with a dark moody 1950s vibe inside. They serve massive premium steak cuts, and à la carte sides and appetizers which can be shared. The service is as you would expect at an upscale Italian restaurant: polished, professional, and attentive. Everything was so good, from the bread service, to the drinks, the sides and appetizers, and of course, the steaks. Give the petite salad a try, it has peaches, heirloom tomatoes, red onion, basil, and feta. It's a refreshing twist. The shrimp in the shrimp cocktail are enormous. And the Dr Suess Special is a different elote style corn side. The steaks are premium, expensive but worth the price. The American wagyu ribeye was extremely tasty, rich, and marbled. I tried a bite of the scallops, and they possessed a deep umami flavor. All items were perfectly cooked. I'd recommend eating inside for the best supper club experience although there is outside patio seating. The restaurant is small, cozy, and most patrons dress up. I am 100% coming back. We booked reservations about a month in advance for our five-year anniversary. We arrived 10 minutes early and were taken to a lounge with a small bar. The decor was well thought out, the music matched the vibe, and we enjoyed drinks while waiting. Unfortunately, waiting became a theme throughout the evening. We started wondering if we'd been forgotten and were seated about 15 minutes after our reservation time. Despite there being only two of us, we were placed at a large round five-top in the middle of the room in a heavy-traffic area. I commented, "Wow, this is a big table," and the hostess laughed and walked away. It was an odd choice for an anniversary reservation made a month in advance. Our server was pleasant whenever she was at the table. They gave us a cute anniversary card and complimentary sparkling wine, which was a thoughtful touch. We ordered about 10 minutes later, and the complimentary bread was very good. We started with the caviar and lobster, both good. However, the heavily seasoned chips served with the caviar didn't make sense. If you're spending $98 on caviar, you should be able to taste it rather than have it compete with an aggressively seasoned chip. A neutral option for tasting the caviar would be much better. Next were the carpaccio and fried squash blossoms. The carpaccio was overdressed with too much oil and sauce. The squash blossom breading was overly crunchy, taking away from the dish, and they were also very bland. I was particularly disappointed because I've had squash blossoms at other restaurants and was excited to see them offered in Lodi. Then came a very long wait for our entrées. I'm not sure whether it was kitchen timing or when our order was entered, but the delay was excessive. During the wait, our busser, who was very kind, accidentally cleared our caviar while we were still eating it. We tried to stop him, but the restaurant was so loud he thought we were talking about the silverware. They replaced the caviar when they realized what happened, which was unexpected and very appreciated. My husband's filet looked a little sad sitting alone on the plate, but it was cooked exceptionally well and tasted great. My scallops were also cooked perfectly, but unfortunately so heavily seasoned that the seasoning overwhelmed them. Surprisingly, the chopped cauliflower was the best part of the plate, followed by the purée. I took most of the scallops home because the strong flavors made them difficult to finish. After our entrées, we waited again because we wanted dessert. When our server finally came by, we asked for a dessert menu. She then went to other tables, got drinks for another table, and spent time talking with staff directly behind us. This seemed to be a regular gathering spot throughout the evening, sometimes with five or more employees standing together socializing. We eventually asked the busser for the dessert menu. He was busy handling several other things but ultimately brought one. We ordered carrot cake and chocolate cake, which thankfully arrived in about five minutes. The carrot cake was excellent. The top two layers of the chocolate cake were good, but the bottom was awful. By this point we were exhausted. Dinner had taken considerably longer than anticipated, and the other patrons seated around the same time as us had left long before. Our server was again socializing with the group behind us, so we waved down the busser for our check. It was brought over, but no one returned to collect it. Rather than continue waiting, my husband finally got up, walked over to the group of employees and asked to pay and have our remaining food boxed so we could leave. There were highlights. The atmosphere was nice, our server was pleasant when she was at our table, the busser was kind, the anniversary touches were thoughtful, and several items were cooked extremely well. But for a $488 dinner for two, I expected a considerably more polished experience. At this price point, details matter. The excessive waits, inconsistent seasoning and execution, lack of attentiveness and table maintenance, unusual seating, and frequent staff socializing detracted from what should have been a special anniversary dinner. My husband and I had the caviar which was not bad but I've had better. We ordered off the menu dry-aged ribeye but that was disappointing. I want to preface this as an HONEST review after my experience this evening, with the intent to provide genuine feedback to improve the business. Given that it is the second day, I will award 3 stars, as Jimmy's can only improve. ORDER: Chicken on the bone with mashed and gravy, 8oz prime filet, gnocchi and gelato dessert POSITIVES: -The customer service was phenomenal. Within minutes of an accidental drop of food, the busser came to clean up to ensure our table was always clean. -Warm welcome. I thought it was such a unique and inviting welcome. Something I've yet to experience anywhere else. -The idea for a palette cleanser with the strawberry sorbet is unique and was phenomenal! Much needed, too! - Gelato was wonderful and the addition of the cocoa powder made it a whole different experience. OPPORTUNITIES FOR IMPROVEMENT: -the dividers between the tables were very dusty. Easily missed but something to remember, as they are at eye level when seated so it is very obvious. -Filet steak was VERY salty and to be honest, not great. I wouldn't order it again personally as it was on par with an Applebees steak to me personally. -My husband is vegetarian but the menu was not very vegetarian friendly. If you tried hard, you can make it work but you won't get a very nutritious or hearty meal if you are vegetarian or vegan. -Tap water taste was not great. I'm generally not picky about water but it was not good at all. - We noticed everyone got bread except for our table. They had taken away our plates and napkins already as we waited for our entree so we were confused. We asked and they promptly brought it out but we didn't have plates or napkins or a knife to cut it with so we had to eat with our hands. They placed a napkin down for the steak plate as a pot holder; however, they didn't explain what it was for and since they took away our napkins, I used it as a napkin but they came back and said "no this is for your steak"...okay? Ya, so I put it on my lap to eat but they never explained it was to protect the table from the hot dish. It clicked when they brought out the food but I recommend maybe using something else or bringing it out with the steak to avoid confusion or explaining better. OVERALL: It was a good atmosphere. The food is not worth the price in all honesty with the foods we got. I'm sure it will improve overtime. The service was superb and I came here to support a new local business but probably won't return until they've established more ground and the food quality/ dietary inclusivity improves. I had a great experience because the staff made it a warm and inviting place and for the overall vibe, I would return, but not for the food. I hope this review is received with the intent I had in mind to truly give honest feedback to help this business flourish. We will definitely be back to give them another shot. The food was incredibly salty, transparently we couldn't finish any of the dishes served. There wasn't enough depth or layering of flavor it all kind of fell flat. On top of that the steak was served before the side dishes we got to pair with it. We were half way through our steak when the rest of the food came. You can tell the seafood is very fresh we had the seared scallops and wagyu steak (it was grilled to perfection) but again the execution just wasn't there. For the amount we spent I expected better. I'll let you guys decide: I booked a reservation for my wife and I's 5th year anniversary. The day of the reservation I called to confirm, and they didn't have me booked on their side (I had an email confirmation on my side of the booking). Mind you this is a few hours before the special occasion... I then receive a phone call receiving last minute information that they double booked me for Pietro's instead of Jimmy's.. I then learn the table is outside (too hot etc..) and if I didn't call, none of this would have gone smoothly. So I decided to cancel my reservation and go elsewhere where I know the most stressful part of surprising someone on an anniversary day (the reservation and preparation) would be eliminated. As I called to cancel, they then actually decided to charged me $50 for the cancellation! Complete joke of customer service and you would think their would be some understanding on their part. I was so excited to try out Jimmy's, the new steak house in Lodi. It is a nice place with beautiful decor and a great ambiance. When we walked up we were greeted by a very courteous woman holding an iPad. She looked up our reservation then proceeded to tell us that the main bar was full in the front of the restaurant and that we could head to the Martini Bar instead. We had arrived an hour early just to experience the bar setting that I had heard about. When we got in the Martini Bar there were about 5 tables and people were eating full meals at them. We proceeded to wait in line behind a group of people and ordered our martini's. Then we just stood there with people coming in and out and feeling kind of like we were in the wrong place at the wrong time. I soon noticed a table get taken by the hostess so I jammed over and grabbed the table. I had mentioned to the hostess that we wanted to go to the other bar when it opened but she informed me that there was like 3 couples ahead of us and that she would let me know but I never heard back from her. We got our table about 1/2 hour after our reserved time. Here are some of the suggestions I would give after our first experience at Jimmy's. 1. Don't sit outside. For the price of the food you will not be happy paying that kind of money for that atmosphere. (we sat inside) 2. Bars are very nicely decorated but only like 5 tables total so you're standing in an extremely busy area with two martinis and feel like you are in the middle of an expressway. 3. The music sucks. Like really sucks for a steakhouse! Seriously "Groove is in the heart" and "Jessie's Mom has got it going on" is playing when you're paying $300 for steak. The music would be appropriate for a night club after dinner but funny enough even the staff was commenting on the choice in music. 4. We ordered all our food at once and our server said she would space it out but got our oysters, salad and zucchini blossoms all at the same time and hadn't even gotten our glass of champagne yet. ‍ 5. Food was good. The ceaser salad had zero dressing on it so we had to wait for sides of dressing! And the plate was inadequate because it wasn't big enough and parm cheese was all over the table. The filet was good and so were the scallops but we honestly weren't overly impressed for the price of everything. The dirty martini and this other martini we got were very tasty too. The wine was good too. 6. My last final complaint was the amount of staff that walked next to our table in that one night. I felt there was way too many staff hovering over the table and my husband at one point had to tell the waiter that he wasn't done with his plate so please don't take it. Overall, all of our complaints could easily be altered and the experience could easily be improved. I am a Lodi Native and I love to see more restaurant's come to Lodi and prosper so I assure you I will be back to try Jimmy's again someday soon. read more

$300 dinner for food poisoning. My fiance & I both got sick hours after eating at this place. I gave the one star for the service & vibe.

Jimmy's has been open for about a month so we thought we'd try it because they must have all the bugs shake up. The service was very good, I think they have extra people right now just so they can stay organized. The waitstaff was very polite and efficient. We ordered one steak, one chicken dish, oysters, for appetizers, and a Caesar salad. All of the food was excellent although the main lettuce in the Caesar salad salad seemed to be intentionally wilted, not our preference. My ribeye steak was cooked very nicely to the level I requested. The oysters were fresh, the chicken dish was cooked very nicely and was very tasty. We also tried the Dr. Seuss corn side. It was very much like street corn and very tasty. The prices are reasonably high, but the quantity of food was surprisingly generous. Our friends who have gone a couple of weeks before reported nearly identical results. I would definitely go there again. The ambience is relatively quiet spacing between the tables was very nice. Overall we give a very positive recommendation. We have our favorite restaurants in Lodi, but this will probably be the best steakhouse in Lodi, Galt, and even Elk Grove. Parking is better than at the old Pietro's because there are fewer tables and the parties are generally somewhat larger. They also provide valet parking, which we did not need to use. read more

5:30 Saturday night dinner. The best I can say is we will not be returning. As a group of four we have dined out together weekly for the past 20+ years, I would not call us picky as we have dined in some of the best and not so great Northern California restaurants. Jimmy's is attempting to appear to be in the top ranks, unfortunately we have to give them a fail. Food was vey good but highly overpriced! Ambiance very dark (hope there is never a fire as the only apparent exit is poorly visible!) noise level very loud we couldn't wait to be done so we could escape the roar! read more

Jimmy's is absolutely amazing ! The warmth,design and attention to detail is something you don't find from the corporate steak houses . However , It is so much more than just a steak house. The seafood is so fresh and the raw bar rivals all. What a wonderful experience! Jimmy's could be in any city and be if not the best one of the best restaurants in that city . We don't go to many fancy restaurants but this place was so amazing and left me and my husband speechless. My husband said this was the best steak of his life. It was grilled on the outside and perfectly medium rare on the inside. The fish was the best fish I've ever had as well. My liked the mashed potatoes with the steak but my husband enjoyed it with the fish. It wasn't at all salty and perfectly crisp for the fish. And the steak was perfectly seasoned and salted. The cookies and cream dessert was what made us absolutely speechless and I could cry. At first we were spectacle. $16 for cookies and cream? But it was the best dessert I've ever had in my life and it was a Ratatouille moment! Absolutely we are coming back for more! And the drinks were amazing as well and so was the service! We were a group of 4. 2 of us ordered the chicken plate and enjoyed it. We were surprised the dry rub on the chicken had a kick to it. I like spice so I did not mind but I can see it being a little spicy for someone who is more sensitive to spice. The other 2 ordered the halibut and thought it lacked flavor and could be improved. The mozzarella sticks were delicious and definitely filled with lots of cheese. The focaccia was delicious as well. 2 of us ordered the Amalfi speciality cocktail and it was delicious! Definitely would come back and try again but would pick indoor seating as we sat outside and I was eaten alive by mosquitoes. So FYI if you're sitting outside make sure to apply mosquito repellent. read more

The inside is beautiful and the entrance is very unique. The new drinks were tasty and we enjoyed the "Dr. Suess Special." Awesome that they showed respect to the local physician. Our steak was cooked to perfection and my wife's chicken dish was amazing. We will definitely be back. read more
