My party of 5 came on a Friday around 10:30 am and waited approximately 25 mins before being seated. We ordered our food but it took awhile (~45 mins) to come out, but appreciated that all the food came out at the same time. Food was solid, portions are very generous. Friendly staff who were attentive and always refilling our coffees.

Visited this place while staying in Lodi and looking at Yelp for a good place for breakfast. It's a nice little gem of a place where many of the locals gather to enjoy a good meal and talk. The service was amazing, friendly and just what you would expect from a nice hometown place where the locals meet. Warm and welcoming and great hospitality! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was your local diner style place serving good food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] As for the food it was good. The ham and eggs were perfectly cooked and just right. The pancakes were good. I was torn between the French toast and pancakes but when I visit gain will probably go with the French toast. The pancakes were a bit thin for my liking but had good flavor just me being picky as I like pancakes a little more fluffy. Will certainly be back and try something different but a really good place to visit

Ginger was nice and welcoming from the start with a nice smile...They have Milkshakes so I was set to stay and have a seat:) and yes the extra in the shaker was treated as well. Will definitely come back. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place is clean and cook is in the zone on the grill taking pride in his cooking.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Thanks Ginger will let others know also.

A few months ago I was driving through Lodi with a few others. They were hollering that they were hungry and wanted to stop for breakfast. But they insisted on no chain restaurants or fast food. So we googled and found Avenue Grill. So glad we dined here. The food was traditional classic American fare served up by the nicest staff (which was ethnically diverse). The vibe is welcoming. I noticed that the staff knew a lot of the regular folks (also ethnically diverse) by name. They serve up breakfast and lunch. They are known for their signature giant flapjack. $5.99. But none of us ordered. Next time for sure. Anyways, I got with eggs and bacon breakfast. Simple and prepared right. Luved it. Prices weren't bad. The menu options were plentiful. The place is on the smallish side. They have tables and a counter. When the dining room is full, it's cozy cramped. The noise level can get loud.

The blueberry pancake is a favorite and I love their coffee. The wait staff are very friendly, I never feel rushed and the environment is diner cute. They have an outside patio that has plenty of gas lamps if you get cold. Their on letters are also amazing. Great place to catch an early breakfast, hangout with friends or have some quiet early morning time.

Are you a diner soul? If you can rattle off the difference between a cafe, diner, and coffee shop, you might be. Avenue Grill is a bonafide diner, and if that's your jam, and you're traveling 99 or located in NorCal, get here! My dad and I eat there at least be a month and travel from Sac and Elk Grove. Expect normal favorites for the genre, as well as a few unexpected specialties unique to Avenue Grill. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor inside is as if Cheers was actually a roadside diner. Yeah, you're definitely having breakfast in 1986. It's fantastic![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The patio out back is very pleasant in spring and fall, and if it's not bitterly cold, the giant heaters keep you nice and warm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Summertime it's getting kinda warm by lunch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe outside is remarkably different than inside; it's Sierra Nevada mom and pop roadside logging country restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's nice because the service is just as good as inside, and if chatting is a priority, the patio is much quieter than inside. The service is great either way, and they'll happily customize your food, and it comes *the way you ordered it. All the servers are strong, but Stacie is a blast--she's a joke teller, and they're great jokes! No prudes tho, some of these jokes are whispered! This time I tried the Veggie Potato Platter, in lieu of my go-to omelette because seeing those giant plate of cheesy perfect crusted fried potatoes and melty cheese has been giving me a world class case of FOMO. It was great, but not gonna lie, I wasn't hungry again until dinner. It's a lot, but I just couldn't quit eating it, so good. I've also had the Linguica and eggs, and I thought the linguica was quite good. My dad got his favorite, Huevos Rancheros, and had very nice things to say about the dish. It's a Wednesday(?) special, I believe. Lunch foods are also above par imho. You pay and tip right there at the table with the waitress waiting, so don't forget to tip. You'll want to anyway. Great spot, really. If you're hungry for diner food, and want to feel like a regular, even on your first visit, this is the place!

Lunch this time around - said to sit wherever we like. It's crowded inside with the tables really packed in. Some sat outside. Have to fight the flies to get to tables but seating outside feels less squished in. Took our order right away. Fish and chips and lil burger (1/4 lb burger) on sourdough with bacon and cheese. Chili cheese fries. Everything was so good! Burger cooked to perfection and it was really good on sourdough bacon crispy NOT burnt! Chili cheese were steaming! Chili tasted homemade not canned and not sweet. It was very good.

Day 2 Stop 1 "Where do all the locals go?" Preface- We are weekend tripping in Lodi and where to dine was always a question. We found this place and what a great choice it was. They were 90% occupied and fortunately, there was a table for us. Knowing our day is filled with winetasting, we agreed to get a hearty breakfast to start. Naturally and in addition to our coffee and breakfast, we order their Mimosa by the bottle with orange juice... Just to set the mood... Country style biscuits and gravy, basic bacon and eggs and a burger dawned our table. I had to try their hotcakes. Not that I'm an hotcake aficionado but their hotcakes were GOOD. Great way to start the day!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]A very nice place to enjoy a meal, especially with the outside patio area available.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food came out quickly and was delicious. All of the staff is super friendly and attentive, and our server was a delight. Definitely will be coming back!

The "small" omelet (how big is the regular size?! lol) and house potatoes (order extra crispy, your welcome)

Avenue grill is a great little diner in Lodi for breakfast. The chicken fried steak is amazing and the omelets are really good! It can get crowded quick especially on the weekends so you might have to wait for a table but they also have an outdoor dog friendly patio!

If you're on the hunt for one of the best breakfast spots around, Avenue Grill should be at the top of your list. This place consistently serves up hearty, satisfying dishes that hit all the right notes--especially if you're a fan of classic American breakfasts with a twist. Let's start with the Potato Platter, which honestly might be one of the most crave-worthy breakfast plates you'll find anywhere. It's a generous helping of crispy country-style potatoes mixed with grilled ham, smoky bacon, bell peppers, and onions--all topped off with a layer of melted cheese. It's everything you want in a breakfast dish: savory, cheesy, filling, and just enough crisp on the potatoes to keep you coming back. Another standout is the Chicken Fried Chicken--perfectly fried, juicy, and paired with a savory country gravy that brings the whole thing together. It's comfort food done right, and they clearly know what they're doing with their gravy here. Surprisingly, even the Carnitas Quesadilla holds its own. Now, I wouldn't normally order a quesadilla at a breakfast place like this, but I've tried it, and it's genuinely good--tender carnitas with just the right amount of seasoning and gooey cheese in every bite. If you're in the mood to mix things up, it won't disappoint. The Poorman's Benedict is another favorite--it's a creative and delicious take on the traditional benedict. A fluffy biscuit and rich gravy serve as the base, stuffed with a sausage patty, a perfectly cooked egg, and a handful of those signature country-style potatoes. It's messy in the best way possible and absolutely delicious. They also serve some of the best pancakes I've had--thick, fluffy, and golden. The only knock? They serve them with syrup that contains corn syrup rather than real maple syrup. It's a small letdown in an otherwise great dish, and I really wish they'd offer a pure maple option. The coffee is solid too--bold, hot, and just what you need to round out a great breakfast. It's nothing fancy or artisanal, but it's good, and it keeps coming, which is all I ask for in a breakfast joint. Be warned: weekends get busy. It's a local favorite, and word has definitely gotten out, so expect a bit of a wait. That said, the staff is efficient and the kitchen moves fast, so even when it's packed, things turn over quickly. Overall, Avenue Grill delivers on every level when it comes to breakfast--huge portions, tons of flavor, and a menu that offers comfort food classics with enough variety to keep it interesting. Just come hungry and bring your own maple syrup.

We did a couple appetizers for double servings. There also was a cast iron bread which I highly recommend-we didn't find it on the menu but another adjacent table had ordered it -we asked, ordered and we demolished it. I even forgot to take photos of the bread. For the main dishes the fish and chips was worth it, I didn't get any positive feedback on the ravioli that many of the people in the group had ordered. The one who had the Beef Wellington said it was worth it. There were two in the group that ordered the beef stroganoff that weren't able to fjnish their dish. We all forgot about the shepherds pie--maybe next time.

Tonight, we returned for another birthday, but the experience was nothing like before. We arrived at 6:10 PM for our 6:15 reservation. Upon entering, the hostess walked right past us with another party, without so much as a "I'll be right with you." Another employee eventually asked if we'd been helped; when we said no, she said she'd find someone. We were finally seated, and our server, Monica, was the bright spot--attentive, friendly, and kept us updated on our food. That food, however, took nearly an hour to arrive, and we watched several tables who were seated after us receive their meals first. When our dishes did come, they arrived in stages--the succotash and salmon first, then the pork chop and gnudi about seven minutes later. Worse, nearly everything was cold and overdone. Pork chop: Unevenly cooked--some parts dry and overcooked, others undercooked. The potato purée was gummy and overworked, though well-seasoned. Salmon: Overcooked and bland; I had to ask for salt and pepper just to add flavor. The corn velouté underneath was unpleasant--the corn kernels were dried out and rock-hard (I circled the pieces I had to spit out in the photo). The beans were burnt, not charred, and tasted bitter and inedible. The succotash was flavorless and had 1/2 cherry tomato poorly executed. Gnudi: The lobster was chewy and overcooked, and the dish was dry--it desperately needed a sauce and a bright note like lemon to bring it together. The only course that delivered was dessert. For the price, the quality was disappointing across the board. Needless to say, we'll be looking for a new spot for our future celebrations.

They have a little patio seating outside as well. I had the Caramel Macchiato and it tasted good. Not much interaction with the employees but it was pleasant.

Beautiful location, and seating space. Great for meetups, studying and just a place to sit down and…read moretake in the moment. Service was great and employees were helpful. Complementary water and access to the bathroom for guest. Slightly disappointed in their actual coffee presentation as it relates to their social media posts. I was wayyyy to excited about the pistachio latte they shared on their social media ( they presented a green "pistachio" latte topped with a cold foam and what looked like whipped cream) only to present me with a brown coffee that didn't exactly taste much like pistachio. When I asked the employee if that was my drink she said yes. I asked her why it didn't look like the photos they show on their social media and she responded as if she was let down herself. Highly recommend adjusting your social media photos or leveling up on your coffee presentation brew house or you may just have a lot of misinterpreted buyers.
