My friend and I flew into the airport for the first time, parked on one side of the runway, walked across the runway and had a 2 hour lunch here! This is my second time eating there. The first time was a few years ago and I think it was better then. There was more variety on the menu. The side saiad only had lettuce in it, nothing else. They were out of focaccia bread so substituted ciabatta bread, which was ok. I had a chicken sandwich, but I think the best thing on the menu is the hamburger. The service was good. A friend of mine recently had to pay off a bet (Nov. 6th (think about it) and wanted to go to the rustic Lodi Airport Cafe (LAC). Reluctantly, I agreed to glide-in knowing the last time I ate there was about 15 years ago, it was about a 2outa10. So, I backed the old P-51 (SUV) out of the hangar, checked the fuel gauge (stomach on MT), buckled-up, flaps down, right-rudder and set the Magnetic Gyro for Hwy99&Jahant Rd. Compensating for wind, rain and too many patrons, tiedowns were available at 11:15AM without incident near the front door and no TSA insight to check my metal "Wings" money-clip! Cabin seating was no reservations, and we found a window-seat to watch the take-off and landings of this busy venue. We ordered the 1/2-pound BBQ-Burger, med.Rare, with the works, garlic fries and the mixed fruit water pitcher available for the table. In about 10 minutes, a successful delivery, no chute! The burger and fries were TOP-FLIGHT with a perfect mix of savory sauce and greens on the burger and nice sprinkling of garlic on the fries. 11outa10 makes for a great lunch! We were really hungry out doing errands and decided to give this place a try. Very clean and up to date inside, greeted by a friendly server immediately as we walked in. It's not a big place, we felt was just right. One page menu with so many items that sounded mouth watering (especially when you are very hungry) that it was difficult to choose. Wifey went with the roasted turkey and grilled pear sandwich with homemade potato salad while I was hankering for a tuna melt with grilled green Chile's. First time here after hearing about it for awhile. So worth the drive! I'm from South of Stockton. Inside: clean, light and airy, cheerful and the staff are pleasant. Bathroom was very clean and nicely decorated. I ordered the Sante Fe Tuna Salad and Oh My! It's so delicious! The best tuna salad I've ever had or made at home. Has caramelized onions, roasted red peppers and green chilies, but just enough of each to not overwhelm. Bread was perfectly toasted. All the food seems very fresh and most definite delicious. I will be back and I hope to try other things, though may be hard when the tuna salad is so good, but other things sound awesome too. Do yourself a favor and take a little drive and enjoy! read more

For me, most restaurants will score at least 3 stars unless service or food quality was sub-par on that visit. So that was the case on this visit. Plenty of parking if you're driving here. There are also tie downs if you're flying in. The cafe has a nice view of the primarily used runway for you airplane lovers. A buddy and I grabbed a window booth and watched some of the sky divers parachute down in the distance while we waited for our orders. We both ordered the Airport Burger. He ordered his med-well and I ordered my well done. If you don't specify, it comes med-rare. The bun was really good and there was no problem with the toppings. But my first bite hit me right away...it tasted a bit like charcoal. Not so bad that the burger was inedible...just that it had a very distinct and lingering & distracting taste. About half way through eating his burger, my buddy mentioned the same thing about his. I think the best way to describe it would be to imagine too much of the burn scrapping from the grill on top of your burger. We didn't complain...just ate our burgers. But in all my years of eating burners, I've never had one taste this charcoal-ly at any restaurant. The french fries were good. This is a Coke facility...sorry Pepsi folks. I believe they also sell beer & wine here. Now my buddy has been here several time before so I'm hoping this was an isolated incident. After eating, we walked over to the sky dive center and watched a few jumpers land. If I could, my rating would be 2 3/4 stars. Wow. A true gem. We tried the lemon blueberry pancakes, avocado toast with egg and a side of bacon. It was a decent hearty breakfast. A little overpriced but I guess it works for the business considering its next to the skydiving business. There are "advertisements " playing in the background stating something along the lines of "come in eat, fly and dive." So full disclosure, we havent actually sat down for a meal here yet, but this is an amazing little place. We landed here tonight on a cross country flight and just wanted a drink of water and a bathroom stop but ended up getting so much more. The owner was just getting into her car to leave and graciously let us into the restaurant. Not only that but she gave us cookies and a soda. Now, it's difficult with the English language to express the sheer divinity of this cookie. It may have been the best cookie I've ever eaten in my life. A+ service, cool little location with a DC3 parked out on the runway and a great menu (I mean they serve duck come on people!). I will DEFINITELY be going back. I brought back a menu but it is in the plane still. Will update the review once we eat there for real! Thank you for the hospitality!!! What's not seen is the fine print and cost for the sides and beverages near the bottom of the page. When it came time to pay, I was handed a ticket for $25 bucks (before tip) which I thought was way high for just an Omelets, OJ, a Two Egg Breakfast and a cup of Coffee. But when it came time for me to crunch the numbers, I came to the conclusion that everything cost. I originally wanted three eggs and since the two egg breakfast was one shy, I ordered an additional egg at $1.50. My son had OJ to drink and I had Coffee. Both of us had refills and we we're charged accordingly for each cup or glass drank. My breakfast was okay. Nothing fancy or special, just okay. My son said his omelet was great. He said the sausage was outstanding and he thought the sliced avocado on top gave the dish a unique flavor. The restaurant is very cute and wholesome. It's designed to look like a airport hanger. All the luggage, crates and shipping containers included. The restroom was clean and smelled fresh and had very modern fixtures. We were looking for a quaint, hometown cafe for breakfast on our way out of Lodi and the Lodi Airport Cafe was perfect. Our server Ashley was so attentive, friendly and her service was top notch. Couldn't wait for a cup of tea for me and coffee for Mr. Bee. The cafe is located at the small Lodi airport and as we sat, we watched skydiver's coming in for a landing and the plane taking a new group of skydiver's up. The cafe was remodeled about 3 years ago and is spotlessly clean. From the corrugated steel roof which reminds you of sitting in a hanger with a few airplane themed decorations, this is a great spot for breakfast or lunch. We ordered the Focaccia Breakfast Sandwich. The Focaccia is made in house fresh daily and I can tell you, it is by far the best Focaccia I have ever had. It is so soft and melts in your mouth. The sandwich was filled with grilled ham, scrambled eggs, American cheese and we added fresh avocado with grilled onion and potatoes on the side. We both wish we didn't share the sandwich and had our own, it was that amazing. Also on the menu for breakfast is French Toast, Pancakes, Apple Pancakes, Biscuits and Gravy, Oatmeal, Breakfast Burrito, and Omelets. The perfect American style breakfasts. This was a total surprise. But obviously not for the locals. Food is phenomenal, the sandwiches very impressive! I had the pear roasted turkey Brie sandwich which was out of this world! The portions are pretty big, so ate half and took home half for later. Hubby had the tuna melt and he said it was creamy with the charred peppers added a whole new level. So for the actual food itself I'd give 4 stars. My salad was very good although portion was very small. Value - pretty pricey for what you get Customer service - ONE STAR if that. As many people have mention the staff was very rude, not friendly, nobody looked like they actually wanted to be there and we were mostly ignored the whole time. The whole place had an odd, sort of negative vibe. My biggest problem with this place is that we had lunch (2 people) and the $45 bill arrived and said "cash only". I would think that this would need to be VERY clear, A LARGE sign on the door as you walk in. It was by sheer luck that I had an envelope full of cash in my purse because I had just gone to the bank the day before which literally never happens. If licking the plate was acceptable in public-I would have done it to get all that gravy! The biscuit was very tall, they had nice risen loft on the biscuit dough-if you have ever made your own biscuits at home, then you know loft with dough is hard to accomplish. The sausages were not simple grade, but in castings and you could taste the meat quality. The eggs were done perfectly and the small local potatoes were delicate, but not over done. After purchasing the gift certificates, I biked over to Lodi Airport Cafe to try out their fare. I, in the past, have rode by this restaurant many times... but in my previous treks, this restaurant is just too darned close to Lodi to justify stopping and eat. By the time I ride back, it's already closed. BTW, this place closes at 2:30pm. On the menu today... Spanish Omelet (*** 1/2 $9.00) All their Omelets are the three-Egg variety... but they don't look it. Could have been small Eggs.... Consisted of Spanish Onions, Tomatoes, and Jack Cheese covered with a mild Salsa (***). Side of Country Potatoes... chunky Red Potatoes grilled with Onions (****). Also a side of Toast or a (just 1) Biscuit... chose the Toast. Small Stack (**** $5.50) Two Pancakes that covered up an 8-inch plate. Very thick Maple Syrup... not the runny stuff you'd get at most restaurants. Iced Tea (*** $2.00) Always topped off. Service (**** 1/2) When I first walked in, I noticed three wait-staff for a ten table restaurant plus some counter seats. Overstaffed, I thought... or optimistic. As I sat there longer... more and more people from the Parachute Center. After I ordered my Breakfast, I just told the waitress to keep my Iced Tea topped up... and I'd be a Happy Camper. And she did just that! Value (** 1/2) Everything here is about $0.50 to $2.00 over and above what you would pay, for a similar food item in Lodi or Stockton. But, the Service is Excellent. Lodi Airport Cafe, essentially a Breakfast and a Sandwich Lunch Restaurant, which opened in 1988, exists for one reason only... the Parachute Center. There just has to be an interdependency between the Center and this Restaurant. Even though they're located by Hwy 99, there isn't any space or facility for Truckers. While there, there was only one table (with me, two) that consisted of what you would call "locals." Locals would be, for the Airport Cafe, farmers who resided nearby who didn't want to drive into Lodi or Galt to have Breakfast or Lunch. From the looks of the customers on a Saturday morning... the Airport Cafe had problems handling all the traffic from the Parachute Center primarily because the Center acquired a new and bigger Airplane to support more jumps per take-off. After a flight I stopped in here for lunch. I've lived near this airport for most of my life and have eaten here only a few times during its different incarnations and remodels. I really enjoy the 1940s aviation/ industrial theme they have currently. The food is very good and the staff is polite. Restaurant goers beware, they only accept cash or check. Great food at the Lodi airport café. This memorial day weekend a group of us back country pilots flew into the Lodi airport café for breakfast. Bacon and eggs sunny side up with potatoes and English muffin was properly served! Gulped it down with lots of coffee. All set for a days worth of flying with the backcountry.org pilots association. The view outside the window is excellent with parachuters gliding down from the sky, and all different types of aircraft landing on the runway. Good times! read more
