My husband is a quiet, sometimes shy man, but he could give a powerful, loud speech about how much he loves Smokey Grill's Smokey Chicken sandwich. He texted me on his lunch break the other day (while eating leftover salad) that he was thinking about that sandwich and was telling his co-worker about it. Our first time, we tried the mixed bbq tray, which also included grilled veggies and a few slices of cucumber and lime. The cool, refreshing mint and cilantro in their chutney went perfectly with all of the spice and smokiness. I am still thinking about their incredibly tender Chicken Malai and Tandoori Fish packed with flavor. The cashier was friendly and patient with us as we were new here and took a while to decide. Because of my husband's love of their Smokey Chicken sandwich, we returned the next night for another one. Our son said everything he's tried is a 10. His favorite is the BBQ chicken sandwich. We also tried the Tandoori Chicken Pizza last night, and I'm currently eating it cold for breakfast, with my coffee and coconut milk. After a few bites, I put my paper plate down and stared lovingly at the smokey chicken, olives, and peppers. The flavors are so perfect and balanced. Nothing is greasy. It doesn't make you feel sick and bloated like fast food. Their food put a spell on us. We must be careful and not spend our gas and grocery money on their food. I would wash their dishes to get free food. We are new to Lodi, and we love it here. Surrounded by wineries, the lake, and Smokey Grill!

My family and I decided to try them out for our Saturday night dinner. We traveled from Stockton and it was well worth it. We ordered the barbecue platter, veggie Biryani and plain rice. All the meat on the platter was absolutely delicious and each meat had its own distinct flavor and texture. Both rice options were very different and delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was pretty quaint so the eating area was pretty small.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]However, the big taste made us feel like we were in a huge fancy restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This place is a hidden jewel in Lodi!!!!!

7/18/25 today at 6:00 pm my cousin went there to get a pizza for us and then we ate it and then looked closer at it told everyone to stop eating they said what why? I was like because theres a piece of hair in the food so we threw it away and that wasnt really cool at all what if my cousin gets sick or if i get sick it will be a big problem dont come to this place thanks

Lamb biryani was spicy and good.

I had tried a number of Indian food related items off this menu and not once have I been disappointed. I'm almost ready to try some of the other items they offer. Just to see if they're as good as the Indian items. I ordered the big plate of meats and we all loved the spice along with the a garlic Naan. It seems to get hotter the next day. If you like Indian food, you can't go wrong with this place.

We were craving some Indian food and decided to try Smokey Grill. The weather has been crazy hot so we ordered out food to go so we could eta in our air conditioned house. We tried the samosas to start as well as the chicken tikka masala meal and the chicken karahi. We also ordered their regular and garlic naan. The heat on the chicken tikka was overwhelming in my opinion but you get used to it and the dish is actually very tasty. The karahi was not for me but I did try it and although I found it bitter and found the meat chewy,, my husband enjoyed it. The naan were both excellent and the samosa was good as well but the chutney that accompanied it was far too spicy so we ate it plain. I found the price to be a bit high for what we received. There was a lot of rice and the salad was just a piece of lettuce and a few raw veggies with no dressing whatsoever. There were also too many pieces of hard/chewy meat in my husband's dish. I would return to try their pizza or their burgers on another occasion and if we order Indian from this location again, we will opt only for the main dishes only and just cook some rice at home.

Wow. SQZ Burger has been open for nearly three years in Lodi and I never noticed it. I know I've…read moredriven past it many times, but I guess their signage is too modest compared to the huge "IDOL BEER WORKS" on the other end of the building. I figured it was just another iteration of the original (now long gone) Squeeze Inn in Sacramento, and I was right. I don't think the various locations are franchises, but are more likely independently owned, and the quality varies from location to location. The one that used to be in West Sac, for instance, was terrible, which might explain why it's been gone for years. And the mid-town was also a resounding MEH, and also gone. There's nothing at any version of Squeeze Inn/Burger that I want more than just a basic Squeeze (or in this case, SQZ) with Cheese, though. I don't want a taco, nor a BLT, and especially not chicken strips. I want that which made the brand famous. A cheeseburger with all the traditional toppings and a cheese skirt just dripping cheese grease off it. SQZ Burger delivers the goods. The cheese skirt was just the right size, not too big, not too small. At one point in my life I would have said that there's no such thing as a cheese skirt that's too big, but a couple of years ago I had a cheese skirt that was so big that I felt sick afterward from all the cheese grease! In addition to the just right amount of cheese, the burger had lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onion, and a healthy schmear of mayo and mustard. Damn near a perfect burger. The owner was running the register on my visit, and when she brought my food out, she asked if I wanted a side of ranch. I'm the kind of guy who would drink ranch dressing if I could, so of course I accepted. I didn't even ask - It was nice of her to offer! There's a throughline from the original Squeeze Inn on Power Inn Road to SQZ Burger, too. The father of the husband half of the H/W ownership team owned the original location. Brandon and Katie ran the Galt location for several years, and have now brought the goodness to a Lodi brick and mortar spot. I'll definitely be back.

I had the western bacon cheeseburger with fries and a strawberry shake. These burger was full of flavor and BIG! Not sure exactly how they make their fries, but they're amazing. And my strawberry shake was good also. We had about 45 people all land at the same time, and SQZ was able to quickly get us all served in short order. I do love the vibe of both SQZ & IDOL. It was a nice little drive both ways with an epic food stop in between.

I ordered a #3 combo and a side of ranch for $17.50 before tip and tax. It came with a large slider, another chicken breast on toast, a large serving of crinckle cut fries, and a drink. It was a lot of food and I had leftovers, so I was happy with the size of the portions. The slider had a big, thick, piece of fried chicken breast on it. It was a little spicey, topped with pickles, sauce, cole slaw and served on a nice brioche bun. It was one of the better chicken sandwiches I've had in a while and very satisfying. The chicken breast on toast, was silimar and just as satisfying. The fries were hot, chispy, and lightly seasoned. I enjoyed every one as I dunked them in sauce and munched them down. The staff was nice, and prepared my food quickly. The dining room was basic, but functional, and the drinks were self-serve. I'm happy to give them 5 stars. The food was really good.
