Generally good quality, standard topping selections, ok service, never had a long take out wait time. This is an "order at the register" place which is right in front of the door, so it gets cramped if there is a line. Pizzas are what I would describe as "European style", so don't expect a family sized pie. They are for the individual, or parties that wish to order multiples and share. Crust is thin. I order extra tomato sauce because almost every pizza joint skimps on sauce. I've only ever ordered olives and mushrooms, a personal fav. It's always good, but dispersement of toppings can vary. Though quality is good, price is a bit high. I can get a large at a number of spots around town for less. But sometimes you want quality over quantity. I've never eaten at the establishment, but have always waited for my to-go order. They tend to play pop-country music fairly loud, which competes with the Mexican place next door. Clashing loud music is never a good thing. Keep it ambient and neutral. They always want to give me a plastic bag with paper plates and utensils. Great if I asked for them if I were going on a picnic. But I'm just bringing it home, so no need so better to ask ahead of time instead of bringing it to me at delivery. Just a thought. I haven't ordered any other thing recently however a few years ago I was hooked on the bbq chicken pizza. It's also really good. Smack Pie is obviously known for their pizza, but I go for their Greek salad. The full size is a big salad and has plenty of every topping. I add chicken and it makes for a delicious meal. Our first visit and the service was great. Ordering was easy and the young lady was personable. The only thing I had an issue with was the sides a d dessert. Their monitor shows pictures but no where on their menu shows the options or prices. For a Friday we were able to sit inside with no issues. Service was timely based on being a wood fired pizza place. I wish out cheese bread would have come out before our pizza. We ordered a personal snack daddy pizza. Shared between myself and husband. It was enough for our appetites. The cheese bread was quite bland. I wish it was served with an option of a dipping sauce or more seasonings added to it to give it taste. The pizza was tasty though. It has been a few years since I've visited Smack Pie, but I have yet to find a pizza place with bbq sauce as good as theirs SO when we were in town looking for lunch... we decided to go back! I'm pleasantly surprised that their menu is nearly exactly the same with the same wide variety of toppings. My favorite has always been the build your own option with bbq sauce (again, top notch), fresh mozz and regular mozz, pepperoni and spicy pepperoni, sausage, buffalo chicken, with a ranch drizzle. YUM! A BYO 3-topping was the max with additional toppings for I think 50 cents each. Not a bad deal considering it's hard to find add-ons for under a dollar at most places, but definitely miss the days when a BYO was all the toppings you wanted - although I do understand why that's probably not a smart business practice. Pleased to report that the quality hasn't changed much if at all, everything tasted fresh and was cooked perfectly, and they have delicious garlic knot type things now, too. I was a little sad that they take the orders at the front register now and don't walk you down the line "Subway style" to choose your toppings and watch them make it. I always enjoyed that because then I could ask for double toppings if it wasn't enough of something. I remember getting a salad-pizza combo for a steal of a deal before. Today's visit blew my mind because our two pizzas and a side (plus tip) was $50! A sign of the times, I suppose. Would recommend for a day date or pizza on-the-go. read more

Love the outside seating and the windows that open up. Very friendly and welcoming place. If you don't know what to have, they will make lots of suggestions. Pizza, so good. I had a gluten free Date my bacon and added hot honey. My mouth is watering just typing this out. Hubby wanted to share his so he can have some of mine. I passed on his. I didn't really care for it after eating what I ordered. He had chicken pesto on gf crust. It needed a punch. Next Time we'll add to it. They do serve beer and wine as well as non alcoholic drinks. i love smack pie!! think of blaze or pieology but way better. they have so many toppings and combinations. i got pepperoni, arugula, and finished it with buffalo sauce. sooo good. hits every time and is so simple yet so good. andy got the bbq smack down (not pictured) and sophie got the bee sting. both were so good. they had the perfect amount of toppings and all the flavors went so well together. these pizzas are seriously the perfect size too and i love thin crust so i prefer these pizzas over regular thick crust. read more

Love this lil pizza spot when I'm downtown and the food is great, however, sometimes the place isnt as cleaned up as it should be. I understand some customers just leave their tables without putting their garbage and trays away, but I hope staff would be there to clean up to allow for the next guests to sit. Love this place when I can make it in town. Great pizza with amazing dough and cornmeal finish. I'm a huge fan of date my bacon but I have had tons of different pizzas and they are all great. Their customer service is second to no pizza place. The building is also great with outdoor seating and probably 100+ year old wood floors. Not at all pet friendly place even though it was obvious that i have a Service Dog, as my SD is wearing a vest with ADA emblem attached to the back of her vest. I was asked to sit outside (patio). It was cold & no one is crazy enough to sit out there. The place had 3 tables occupied inside. There was plenty of room for me & my SD. I asked if i could sit closest to the door but not outside. No way. I waited outside with my SD for my pizza & asked for a take out instead of sit in. My review would be a 3.5 Really liked the atmosphere of this resturant because I havent been in a while and its in downtown which has nice areas to shop and explore. They also have a nice outdoor seating area to enjoy if you like eating outdoors. I liked the variety on their menu and how the staff greeted us pretty friendly when delivering our to go order. I got the margherita with arugula instead of basil. I think i would have done basil next time just because the arugula didnt cook down as much. I usually get arugula but this one was more leafy. My bf got a sausage pizza which he enjoyed but for rhe price we paid I wish it would have been bigger because I know he loves his sausage pizza. Some things about this resturant I noticed though were some long wait times, no employee was wearing masks for covid protocols, & the prices were high for only 2 pizzas and a half salad. I just had the Chicken Pesto Pizza here with a Door Dash delivery. I had a particular craving for a chicken pizza today and not the traditional pizza. The crust was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of crunch. The toppings of chicken, garlic cream sauce, roasted red peppers, sun dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, fresh basil, red onions and bacon created a well blended taste of deliciousness! They also have cauliflower crust too! The menu had a lot of variety. We went with a gluten free cheese, a regular crust veggie, and a regular crust meat one that I don't remember the name. The wait time was minimal, the food was good. I especially liked the gluten free cheese. I'm not a gluten free person but it ended up being my favorite pizza! Smack Pie used to be our favorite spot to go to as a family. We go way back to when they first opened and it was soo good. It was like a subway and you added anything you wanted. It is no longer like that. We went last night and the menu has totally changed. Which is fine, but it's nothing like it used to be and it also doesn't taste like it used too. The cheese was very bland. There wasn't many toppings put on the pizza. I'm not sure why they changed the menu but it was the spot to go to in Lodi and the experience was cool. My wife ordered a bee sting pizza and asked if the peppers could be substituted for pineapple, which Rylie said yes she could. Rylie took the order and payment, made the pizza and asked my wife again to confirm that it would be pineapple instead of peppers. My wife's biggest mistake was to leave the restaurant without opening the box to check that it had the right toppings she asked for. They offered to make a new pizza if she returned with the pizza, but after doing errands for five hours in one hundred degree weather she was too tired and declined. If she repeated pineapple to my wife to verify but didn't write it down, and then made the pizza the wrong way, I'm giving them a three today instead of a five. read more
