After having a fun night creating some art at down the rabbit hole we looked up some places for dinner and Papapavlo's caught our eye. The restaurant is beautiful! The food was delicious! And service was perfect! Kristen and Emily was so attentive and gave us such great customer service! At initial sit down.. we was greeted with a bowl of flat bread and our drink order was taken. The flat bread was warm soft and so good we asked for seconds lol. We ordered the grilled artichoke..the char grilled taste was great and the dip was delicious! We shared the salad special today, which was a pear salad that came with raspberry and blue cheese. Everything went well together it was refreshing. And for our entree we shared the mushroom ravioli and the pork tenderloin medallions. The pork tenderloin medallions came with green beans and mash potatoes. Everything was chefs kiss! My favorite was the mushroom raviolis.. it was so flavorful and mushroom-e if that's even a word but you know what I mean. So good! My other friend ordered the seafood pasta and said that was also very good. The dessert presentation was perfect! You get to see their dessert menu in 3D! A tray of deliciousness.. Literally the dessert itself! We shared the chocolate mousse and was not disappointed! It was light and chocolatey all at the same time! Stumbled upon this place... but now a fan.. I genuinely love this restaurant, which makes my last few visits especially disappointing. On my most recent visit, I ordered the beef brochette--Angus steak chunks served with pasta and mixed vegetables. The food itself was very flavorful, so taste was not the issue. Unfortunately, the temperature was. The steak was barely warm, and both sides were completely cold. My dining companion and I were starving and on a limited schedule, so we did not want to spend additional time trying to flag someone down and waiting for the food to be reheated. Instead, we waited--and waited--for our server to return so we could ask for boxes. We ultimately took the food home to reheat and eat later, which is obviously not the experience you expect when dining at a restaurant. That brings me to the service, which has also declined over my last several visits. Our server never checked in after the food was delivered. Had she stopped by shortly after we began eating, we could have addressed the temperature issue and possibly had enough time to enjoy the meal properly. Instead, she was nowhere to be found until the end. I am not sure whether the food is sitting too long before being picked up or if the kitchen is not monitoring temperatures properly, but something needs to be corrected. Servers should also check on their tables at least once during the meal--not only return at the end when it is time to bring the check and collect a tip. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously because I know this restaurant is capable of providing a much better experience. read more

Papapavlo's is one of my favorite places in Lodi. They make the best espresso martini, and I always enjoy the filet mignon and lobster. I grew up going to the location in Stockton and the new Lodi location is even better! They have a good amount of outdoor seating and the food is perfect for enjoying a sunny afternoon. Brought my husband here for dinner for his birthday and we had a time. They have a special on Mondays which was a salad, entree and dessert for like $40 pp. of course we had some wine, the complimentary naan (which were to die for) and they gave him a complimentary birthday treat. I have always loved Papapavlos and I came here to celebrate my birthday with my Yia Yia who has been a loyal fan of this place for years. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful with warm wood accents, cozy booths, and a lovely ambiance. However, our visit this time left me a bit disappointed. I ordered the Greek Chicken Salad but I am fairly certain I received the Chicken Caesar Salad instead. I have had the Greek salad before and this one did not have any of the usual ingredients such as olives, feta, or vinaigrette. It only had Caesar dressing, croutons, and grilled chicken. I did not want to make a fuss especially since it was a special lunch with my Yia Yia, but it was a letdown. The lighting was also very dim for 1 p.m., but thankfully our server adjusted it when I mentioned it. Later I ordered cheesecake for dessert and was given a chocolate mousse cake instead. It would have helped if the server had written our order down instead of trying to remember everything. All that said, the food we did get was fresh and flavorful and the atmosphere itself is lovely. It just needs a little more attention to detail and care with orders. I will probably give them another try but I hope next time the service matches the beauty of the restaurant read more

Service was good, fast, friendly and very attentive. The food was good, I loved my shrimp pasta, I should've gotten one to go. My husband and I recently went there on a Sunday afternoon. Due to football being back, it was empty in there (still surprising for a Sunday at lunchtime). We ordered the apple and Brie in phyllo and dolmathes to start. Both so good and full of flavor. We also ordered the Mediterranean chicken pasta with a cup of lemon chicken soup and the chicken and prosciutto sandwich. The chicken had great flavor and wasn't dry in both. The soup was creamy and tarte and savory. The fries were perfection. Unfortunately the service was very subpar. For us being the only guests for the majority of our meal, the service was almost nonexistent. It seemed as though the servers wanted to chat amongst themselves. We dined again at Papapavlo's recently with my granddaughter and her husband. We arrived around 5:15 with 5:30 reservations and got seated immediately! The hostess was warm and friendly, welcoming us as we entered through the doors. The restaurant's interior is stylish and inviting and the bar scene was already hopping! As soon as we were seated we were greeted with water and pita bread slices accompanied by olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We skipped appetizers but my wife and granddaughter had cocktails. Our waiter, I believe his name was Garrett, was friendly, knowledgeable of the menu and very efficient without being intrusive. My wife had the ribeye, baked potatoes and haricot verts. The steak was perfectly cooked and deliciously tender! My granddaughter had the pistachio crusted salmon which she said was delicious. Her husband had the filet in a Merlot Demi glaze. He mentioned that it was prepared exactly the way he prefers it. I had the octopus times two because last time I had it as an appetizer, it was outstanding! I had been craving it again so I got two orders on the same plate and they were very accommodating to my request. It came with a side of deliciously creamy fingerling potatoes. The portions of food did not leave much room for dessert but it didn't stop us from getting a slice of their baklava cheesecake to take home with us! My daughter and I needed a half way location to meet for lunch bc we live almost two hours apart. After looking at several locations we settled on Papapavlos in Lodi. There is a small parking lot in back for several businesses in the complex and it was full. After circling the block I parked on the street behind the restaurant. No parking enforcement since it was Sunday. The entrance to the restaurant is located in a breezeway, not easy to find, signage could be improved. Once inside, I am impressed with the layout and ambience. There was a baby shower for probably at least 30 guests in a room adjacent to our booth but it didn't interfere with our conversation. We were quickly greeted by our server and we placed our order. My daughter ordered a bowl of the lemon and chicken soup and I chose the spanokopita and a cup of the same soup. Mine came with two triangles of the spanokopita and a generous serving of fresh green beans. The soup was velvety and delicious. The spanokopita was delicious, perfectly seasoned and the phyllo was delicate and flakey. The service and food were on point, highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Date night with the wife. I've heard that this restaurant was recently renovated. Indeed it looks very nice, they even added valet parking. Our server, Victoria was so informative and patient since I couldn't make up my mind. I ended up ordering the almond-crusted halibut. It was cooked to perfection, flaky and tasteful. It came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. All of this topped by a creamy sauce to complete the dish. My wife ordered the prime rib which she enjoyed very much. The meat was tender, juicy and no gristle found. At the end of the meal, we had no room for dessert since we also had the clam chowder soup as an appetizer. Usually I get the chicken marsala which is super good, but today I decided to switch it up and get the seafood pasta. It was delicious! It came with bay shrimp, prawns, and scallops. Nothing had an overly fishy taste, and the vegetables on the side also tasted very fresh. The sauce was creamy and flavorful, complimenting the seafood well. Hummus is amazing, Not to miss- the Lemon chicken soup is soothing even in warm weather. It is a cream base with right amount of of lemon flavor without being overbearing and the chicken lovely- Entree greek salad with trad gyro meat - after the soup and bread, i could only take 3 bites of this large salad and it was fab on the taste buds! The inside of this establishment is really nicely done as well with a warm modern feel. Their food is still meh to me and I think it's just because I don't care for Greek cuisine. We arrived around 6pm and was seated immediately since we had a reservation (highly suggest to do this). Walking in I already knew this was a place I could take my spouse. It's a white cloth napkin, dimly lit, quiet, romantic vibe kind of place. The inside doesn't appear to hold large parties over 10, there's a bar seating area, a few 4-6 seaters, a few 2 seaters and tables outside. The lady that served me the 1st time was forgettable but the young man whom may have been a busser, I do recall. The young gentleman had a really cool blue light automatic pepper grinder, which turned blue as the pepper came out. It was actually fascinating. He was nice & a great help to our server. The second time I ate here with Hubby service was by an informative, tall, and genuine man who explained the difference with 2 different lamb dishes. He was thorough and honest in his opinions, he was definitely a person I remembered, & that I'd want serve us again. I already knew from perusing the menu online on yelp that I wanted lamb. They had a two & three bone option and I ordered the 3. It came with mashed potatoes and veggies. It was cooked perfectly and I was impressed. Friends ordered seafood pasta whose portions were large & shareable, the spanakopita which is a spinach and flaky carb crust appetizer, the calamari steak with mushrooms was the best calamari I ever tasted. I vowed I'd order that calamari again on try #2, which I did. It wasn't as great the 2nd time, could have been more crispy or seared more at minimum for a crispier crust,, but still yummy and I still dream of when I can go back and tear it up again. The 2nd time I came we ordered the artichoke, so so so good and I'd get this again. We also ordered the crab cakes and I had super high hopes for this but Hubbs and I agree it wasn't that great and I'd never get it again. I appreciate that there are kids items that range from $10-13, dinner salads that range from $17-33, they have casseroles (the Moussaka that has Eggplant, beef, potato, and bechamel sounds tasty), entrees like pistachio crusted salmon, cold water Maine lobster sound good too. They have lots of pasta, meat dishes, unique desserts like baklava sundaes, coconut cream pie. Parking is good if you come early, prices are a lot, especially if you consider the food isn't always good, but if you know what's reliably yummy, a sometimes fancy expensive date night here is a good choice. Next time I come I'd try the scallops, get the artichokes again and for sure the calamari. Come prepared to spend some dough. I'd say it's at least $30-40/per adult to eat here. read more

We went here the other night and it was packed and an hour wit so we left. They don't have a place to book reservations on line and I had to call. I booked it for a Tuesday night. I probably didn't need to book but I didn't want to wait like a Friday night. We got in and got seated right away next to their fireplace which was cozy. They have a large bar area where you can sit. An outdoor area that is enclosed and even a totally out door area with a fire pit. It still a small place and that is why it gets full on weekends. They do have a large parking lot but seems to be pretty full even on this night. I would always call for reservations anyway. They bring you bread , pita or the bread used on a gyro with oil and vinegar. It seemed soft and fresh. Not sure if they make it there. I asked for recommendations from our server and he was hesitate, seemed odd. He didn't have anything that you just had to try. Then he suggested the flaming cheese or the stuffed grape leaves. We started off with the apple and brie triangles which were different and I enjoyed it but the wife said it was just ok. while we were waiting for our soup and salad our main courses came out. I called our server over and aske why we didn't get our soup and salad. He took our mains back and said they would cook them again after serving our soup and salad. I had to try their lemon chicken soup which was good. I love a good soup. My wife got the Caesar salad and she enjoyed the different dressing. Really good. Our mains came out again soon after and they were not new ones. I know because we took a picture. My wife had the chicken alfredo and the sauce had evaporated some so it wasn't very cheesy. The chicken was over cooked but still ok. My rack of lamb was not medium but a little well done, since it sat out or under a lamp. Still the cut of meat was very tasty and I liked it. I mentioned that it was a bit over cooked to the waiter. He offered to bring me a new one but I told him it was ok. He said the dessert was on him for the mistake. I got the chocolate mousse cake and my wife the carrot cake. They make all the desserts in house. We enjoyed our meals but hopefully next time it goes more smoothly. read more
