Salad with blue cheese and balsamic vinaigrette
    Val S.

This place has very high reviews, so I was excited to finally try it--especially when I saw their Tuesday night $20 three-course dinner special. With how expensive dining out is these days, it seemed like a great deal. The restaurant itself is very small, with just a few tables and booths, and it's located in a small strip of businesses with street parking nearby. We were served bread and butter while waiting, and the food came out quickly. The $20 special included a salad, chicken scallopini, and molten lava cake for dessert. The salad was actually the highlight--simple mixed greens with blue cheese crumbles and balsamic vinaigrette, but fresh and flavorful. Unfortunately, the entrée was a big disappointment. The chicken scallopini was very bland. The lemon white wine sauce helped a little, but not enough to save it. The mashed potatoes tasted like runny boxed potatoes, and the peas and carrots seemed like they came straight from a can. Dessert didn't redeem the meal either. The "molten" lava cake was underwhelming and nothing special. There was also a moment during dinner when a waiter accidentally bumped into my back while walking by. Accidents happen--I completely understand that. What bothered me was that he didn't acknowledge it right away or apologize until I turned around to see who had just smacked my back, and only then did he give a quick "oops, sorry." Maybe their regular menu dishes are fantastic and they cut corners for the $20 special--I don't know. But based on this overall experience, I don't really understand the high reviews, and I won't be back to find out.

    Reserved tables. Friday evening!

My husband and I finally made time for a date night and were able to walk in on a Friday night and get a table. Our server was great! He was just perfect, let us know all we needed to, and my husband ordered one of the steak specials. The steaks were perfectly executed and the wine was delicious as well. The environment was wonderful and cozy, not uptight like some places can get. We would love to come back again! This is a great place to visit and feel right at home.

Zin Bistro is a quaint casual storefront restaurant that shouldn't be missed in Lodi. They serve good size portions of tasty American fare with European influences at a reasonable price. My attraction to Zin Bistro was the lamb shank on their menu, served while they last. It is probably the best lamb shank that I've ever had and the large portion was more than satisfying. Definitely glad I came hungry! I can certainly understand why the lamb shank is a very popular item at Zin Bistro and sells out often. Even if you don't care for lamb shank, Zin Bistro also serves equally deliciously prepared entrees on their menu with daily specials. They even offer a 3-course $20 prix fixe menu on Tuesdays. Adding their exceptional service, Zin Bistro offers a very enjoyable dining experience.

Wednesdays at 6:30, every two weeks. Four categories, ten questions per category. Grade another team's paper like school. We killed the blue movies category last week. Trivia master is def a movie guy. I would come back for this trivia format, yes. This was also a good spot to watch the niner game a few weeks back. Back when we were winning. Sigh. I want to come back for music bingo or vinyl night. Bring your own vinyl. Color me intrigued. Not sure what music people listen to here but I have options. They have a lot of cool stuff happening here. Mostly friendly vibes, great beer selection on local craft AND imports. Bathroom report: it's whatever. I am extremely disappointed with how this venue conducts business…read more I booked this space on September 6, 2025 for my daughter's high school graduation celebration scheduled for May 23, 2026. Four months later, on January 14, I received a text -- not even a phone call -- stating they could no longer host my event. No explanation. No meaningful effort to resolve the situation. Just a refund offer, as if families don't spend months planning around major milestones. By that point I had already sent save-the-dates to 125 guests. Because of their late cancellation, I have now contacted 25 other venues and wineries trying to keep my original date -- and they are either fully booked or out of my price range. That is the real-world impact of canceling a confirmed event months after booking. Weeks later (February 13), they offered the weekend before at half price. While that may sound generous on the surface, the reality is the damage was already done. I lost guests when I attempted to adjust the date, and I have been left scrambling to find alternatives. Major life events like graduations aren't casual reschedules. Reliability and communication matter, and unfortunately this experience showed a serious lack of both. Book with caution.

The restaurant is a bit upscale and pricey-although many restaurant prices have increased-so it is reasonable just a matter of what you order and are expecting. The drinks were made pretty strong and worth the price. For large groups they have a group menu under the appetizers that has three categories individual serving, double serving or a platter which would equate to three servings. We did a couple appetizers for double servings. There also was a cast iron bread which I highly recommend-we didn't find it on the menu but another adjacent table had ordered it -we asked, ordered and we demolished it. I even forgot to take photos of the bread. For the main dishes the fish and chips was worth it, I didn't get any positive feedback on the ravioli that many of the people in the group had ordered. The one who had the Beef Wellington said it was worth it. There were two in the group that ordered the beef stroganoff that weren't able to fjnish their dish. We all forgot about the shepherds pie--maybe next time.
