Where's the fire? Tried this spot opening month and I've been waiting to do a review. The lil video reels did a great job as I was expecting more and was humbled after seeing the spot. This is a tiny spot across from Five window. Parking is awful. We found a spot in the corner lot and it was full of rocks and holes. Inside it's really small all black and needs more vibrant art as it's rather one note. The menu is small but that's not bad if the food is on point and it was a miss and so were the drinks. I got the papa loca thinking it was a baked potato or mashed potato loaded and it was tiny bits of potato. The meat was good at least. My husband got tacos which meat was good again. The issue is we asked for the spiciest sauce which is supposedly their fuego sauce and it was a scale of maybe 1 notch above mild. Maybe it's because they're catering to the American pallet but they should know not to order fuego if they can't handle the heat. So that was disappointing as we love spice. Also the drinks were a miss too. They have an opportunity to bring fresh ingredients and have a good balance of flavors but syrup and over pouring isn't what I look for. I don't mind tasting my liquor but the lime marg was just gross. The passion fruit one was over powered but at least drinkable. I hope they revisit their menu as this place had mostly Mexicans and mi gente should know this ain't the spot. I will revisit possibly but it's hard when el pazifico 2 mins away is way better. There's enough room in Lodi for anotner good Mexican spot if they do it well. I also like the fact more businesses are investing in that block as it was an eye sore and ghetto. read more

They were out of their most expensive menu item (lamb) at 5 pm on a Friday evening. The salsa and beans had absolutely no flavor and the rice was so dry. I had high hopes but at the end left disappointed. Service was very mediocre. Watched the waitress and bartender spend all their time complaining. read more

I tried the Papa Loca w/ Al pastor it was delicious it if I didn't get full I would have eaten the whole plate, and squeezing a little lime and adding Jalapeño was . I also had a asada taco which was super good the homemade corn tortilla made it taste even better . Best of all the service was wonderful Estrella was super kind and attentive during my time there , I WILL be coming back and the music was a vibe. read more

Ordered take out. Got the flautas. Came drenched in water from the lettuce causing the flautas to be soggy and fell apart, the chicken was burnt and had no flavor. The lettuce on top was sour. Poorly packed, poor service Such a shame bc their food truck has bomb food. Do not recommend the food, looked like a decent place to drink though. read more

Customer service was great! Our waitress was super sweet and accomadting. The food was mid, it tasted good but it just felt like something I could make at home. Our margaritas we had ordered were not good, we never ask or complain of drinks but we had to on this occasion. Waitress happily got us something else. Not sure if I would go back. read more

First time here tonight...the food and service were outstanding! As a group of 10, we sat outside on the covered patio. It was raining out, but so cozy with all of the patio heaters and lights. Our group had quesabirria tacos, super asada burritos, enchiladas...everything was so good and so fresh. Our waitress was so personable and knowledgeable with recommendations. Waitress super friendly , however chips were extremely stale. Salsa was mid .. not spicy very vinegary . Menu options are very limited. 6 entrees only compared to their food truck (which you would think the restaurant would have more options than a smaller food truck) Small inside but they do have outdoor seating. Wow wow wow! Everything was delicious!! Great looking bar and comfortable seating with great ambiance. The asada and al pastor were flavorful and perfectly prepared. We had both on the papas and enjoyed every bite. The lamb chops were incredible! Get the whole rack, I wish I had! We also had the shrimp ceviche and the quesabirria tacos. It's a small space with a great atmosphere. Food was great. Their birria, asada al carbon and horchata are top notch. They were patient with my child and attentive with their service. Owner has 2 well known, highly recommended taco trucks and Catering company in Stockton. Brick and mortar location in Lodi is the old Mazatlan cafe. They have updated the interior! It looks amazing. Soft opening menu has tacos, burritos, quesadillas, enchiladas, tostadas as well as grilled rack of lamb. The interior is updated with banquet seating as well as the outdoor patio. Service was excellent. Took our drink order right away and brought us chips and salsa while we decided on our lunch order. We both enjoyed our food and will definitely come back. Looking forward to seeing this new business thrive in Lodi! read more

The good. We really like the food and the drinks. The first time we visited the waitress made us an excellent mezcal guava margarita. However, we have been back twice and have had the same exact experience both times. Both times we have sat outside, had to go back in to ask for menus, and waited for someone to even take our drink order for about 20 minutes. No chips or salsa, just sitting there. The second time we actually got up and left. The woman apologized and said she was the only one making drinks and serving. We felt bad for her, but someone needs to prioritize staffing if they're going to run a business. It appears by some of the other reviews that we are not the only ones with this issue. We'd love to go back, but we'd like to know that we will be served if we do. We would absolutely change our rating if the service improves. read more

First timer at fuego and food was definitely good. Got there and was seated outside as the inside was small and already packed. We got seated with menus, waitresses stopped at our table 3 different times without asking about drinks in around a 10 minute period. She seats a table of 3 outside as well, and after the 3rd stop at our table without asking anything, she proceeds to take the second tables order as if we haven't been waiting first. went here on a date night 6/14. the vibes are nice but i highly recommend not sitting outside. the place is crawling with roaches everywhere outside, but it's because they're next to an orchard. the food wasn't bad at all, it was good but a bit pricey. the customer service on the other hand was god awful lol. genuinely horrible except for the two ladies but they were mainly inside, the main waiter was horrible and pretty much f***** off the entire time we were out there. this place could genuinely use some work on their staff but overall pretty mediocre. and seriously, sit inside if you come at night. read more

When our group of 4 arrived there were only 4 other tables sat. We waited 15 minutes to order drinks and then over 30 minutes to get the drinks. Me and my boyfriend visited this spot about 2 weeks ago. When we came into the establishment every table was empty and filthy as the women behind the bar were gossiping. One of them who looked extremely overwhelmed carrying dishes to the back offered to clean a table off if we gave her a minute as the other woman just stood there staring at us. That was the moment I should've kindly changed my mind and went somewhere else, but we drove from Stockton and I'd been supporting this business on instagram for over a year and have BEEN dying to try them. We went ahead and decided to sit outside. While outside it was small but the ambience was fine with lights and music. 30 mins went by before our server realized we were never brought any chips and salsa or water after placing our order. Shortly after we both got a margarita, strawberry and quava, that came out fast but weren't really good, strong, nor worth $10 each. We sat there and waited an additional 45 mins for a simple Mexican pizza and asada fries. Our server apologized and said they only had 2 cooks in the back that night but when I'm paying for a baby sitter, gas to travel from Stockton, food that was way below average, and mediocre customer service you owe your customer more than apology if you want them to give you another chance. The Mexican pizza lacked flavor but I will say that the asada fries with their grilled asada is delicious. That was the only good thing about the entire experience unfortunately so I will not be coming back. Their Instagram marketing and videos is impeccable, but if the food doesn't match the hype, and vibes in the video then it's all a waste of time. Step it up. read more
