Criminally underrated spot. This place was really amazing, from start to finish. The ambiance is amazing: chic, modern, and clean. The food was unbeatable, one of the highest quality Korean meals I've had in a long time. The barbecue dishes were perfectly cooked and flavored. The japchae was the best I've ever had, would strongly recommend it! The seafood pancake was quite good too. The fermented crab didn't quite do it for me, but that was a personal preference. Would absolutely return!

Came here on a Friday night to celebrate my friend's birthday :) I easily made reservations on Yelp and I was able to adjust the time from 6:30PM to 5:45PM the same day. The parking lot is quite small. They share it with a motel and gets packed quickly. I parked more towards the back which is a bit sketch :o The inside of the restaurant is super nice and spacious. It was my friend's first time here and we went with options the server recommended. We ordered chungdam galbi and beef tongue along with seafood pancake and rice. It came with complimentary soybean paste stew and my favorite of the night was definitely the galbi :) I also really enjoyed the tea haha I got so many refills! Can't wait to come back!

Decided to come here for valentines lunch! We booked a reservation online, and thankfully we did! It was packed! Parking is in the back or some street parking. The vibes were great all around! Interior looked modern and clean. We wanted the lunch special but turns out their lunch special is only on M-F. We ended up ordering the pork belly and squid dish, hot stone bibimbap, and beef tartare! Each dish was super yummy and flavorful. The price is a bit on the pricier side, but the food was worth. They gave us a cold sweet pumpkin soup as complimentary dessert. It was SO good. I enjoyed it so much. It was incredibly refreshing as well. Overall, I would return here and try other dishes. I must try their bbq next time!

We came here on a Saturday afternoon and were seated immediately. Big shoutout to the host Aaron/ Erin for his fantastic customer service; he made this such a special experience! Super friendly and helpful Our server was Jane who was very helpful. We had the bibimbap and a side of beef. The side dishes especially the kimchi were delicious. We ended up ordering two tubs of kimchi to bring home. I would definitely come back!

one of my fav Korean spots in the bay (up there with ten butchers & San ho won & kunjip) It's not anything crazy (have not tried dinner menu items) but still such a solid lunch combined with great vibes!! Lowkey the crab plays a big role in my rating. I love raw marinated crab. 10/10!! So filling and incredible... I mean who includes raw marinated crab apart of the banchan offerings??!!! lunch for 2 is $60 which comes w ur choice of meat & 2 soups/noodles/bibimbap + sides. Be sure to ask for dipping sauces for the meats (wasabi + salt combo is my fav). Overall great bang for ur buck and we came home w some leftovers!! Service was iffy in the beginning but our second server was fantastic and swiftly brought everything in a timely manner:) The restaurant itself is also v clean and modern, love how spacious it feels/lunch is not nearly as overstimulating as ten butchers lol.

This was the set menu already grilled for us on a hot plate!

SERVICE /// Wow, super attentive. Anything we wanted they got us, even some random dishes they told us we can get as many as we want like the soup or dessert. They checked in with us frequently and they are VERY FAMILY FRIENDLY. I saw many families and many with young children enjoying their meal here. I love that you can choose to have the meat grilled at your table or grilled in the kitchen and served to you! It is very thoughtful with you have kids I don't want them near a hot grill! AMBIANCE /// This place is nice with high ceilings and minimalist decor without being pretentious! It was very comfortable! They even have private rooms! FOOD /// Delicious! Banchan unlimited and EXCELLENT. Even the pumpkin dessert was not too sweet, but husband got a second serving! We ordered a set menu and it was PLENTY! It came with bibimbap and japchae along with all the meat! OVERALL /// So good I would bring my mother in law here. It's pricy for WORTH IT. It is hard to eat somewhere nice with a baby and here I felt very welcomed and comfortable. All the servers were so nice! Even the other customers were waving at my kid! Good vibes here!

The food was really tasty, and the service was excellent too. It's always a plus when a place is clean and tidy. I definitely enjoyed my meal. I'd recommend this spot to anyone looking for a good dining experience.

Me and a friend was craving KBBQ one night and stumbled upon Chungdam on yelp. This was day before Thanksgiving, so I figured lines were likely not going to be long. We came in about 7pm with no wait-time. First glance, the restaurant was modern and had a upscale vibe. It seemed clean with good lighting. Servers were super attentive, although service seemed a bit slow given the holidays. we tried several dishes as listed below. Chungdam galbi 5/5. This seemed like one of their signature meats. Tender and well-marinated. This is a must try. Their version of Galbi-Jjim 5/5 IMO this was just as good as any of the grilled meat dish as a more affordable pricepoint. The shortrib was so tender, coated in their sauce and cheese. It was so comforting, especially given the recent cold weather. Joo-Mul-Luk 5/5 - Outshined by some of the other dishes we ordered this evening. But i'd say these were well seasoned bite sized pieces. Good ratio between the amount of meat to the price point. Also worth a try The complimentary banchan was also very nicely done. The star was the marinated fresh raw crabs Parking was easy as there is a parking lot and street parking. Waiter/staff were extremely attentive. At the end they also gave us a pumpkin drink/soup as dessert. All in all, definitely more of an upscale KBBQ, but worth a try for a special occasion. This is NOT ayce.

This place is amazing ! My family and I went here for Mother's Day lunch. We had reservations via Yelp (of course). They sat us a table close to a window. From the outside the building is inconspicuous, but inside was nicely decorated. From the beautiful orchids and lighting fixtures. Now let me tell you about the food. We had various cuts of meat. I also liked the salad that accompanied our food. They prepared the meat on the grill for us. I've been to places where we had to cook our own and other places that cook for us. Not picky. But it was enjoyable that they cooked for us. This restaurant was highly recommended by one of my student's parents. I'm so glad we ate here.

Really good galbi! The Chungdam Galbi is very tender, well-marinated with sugar and tastes good on its own without any dipping sauces. There was congee along with the banchan, which was very nice on a cold day. Service was good, the server cooked the meat in front of us, and cut it up to serve.

Sorry im not getting the hype. Meat was mediocre. I could have bought from hmart and grilled myself at home. The seafood pancake lacked flavor, no sauce either. The brisket is cut too thick for my liking for bbq. Very leathery mouthfeel. 1 star for the ambience and service. Its very clean, classy, family oriented. The server grilled the meat with minimal interaction. They were quick to refill tea and water. But i cant justify the background and service with mediocre food

I always enjoy Chungdam. Everything there is so competent and precise - the service is great (side note - I wish more places and cultures would adopt the call buttons - I hate trying to flag down waitstaff sometimes). Service is precise prompt and unobtrusive. If you order bbq, they'll cook it for you (and show you how to eat it if you're new to Korean food.). It's often an acquired taste to eat the savory meats with pickled veggies but try it! The only thing I wish was that they used charcoal so you got some more smokey flavor. But other than that, it's always a great meal. And I feel like other places have just gotten more expensive - when I first went to Chungdam, it felt pricey but I think it's actually not bad now. Can get out of there for less than $100 a person.

Their tartare was well made, and well seasoned! The food was fresh, and delicious. Good service, and a modern interior. It gets packed in here for a reason, but definitely worth your money.

They adjust heat, angle, and timing with an instinct that can't be engineered - it's earned through years of repetition. Fatty cuts get brief exposure to maximize aroma. Leaner cuts are rested, turned, and finished with restraint. Everything lands at the table tender, glossy, and perfectly rendered. This is the kind of skill you don't fake.
