Yuk gae jang 4/5 - although this isn't a yuk gae jang place, it was still good. The beef could have been a bit more tender. Lots of green onions and broth was flavorful, not too spicy. Side dishes were yummy. The workers seem annoyed when you ask for more side dish though..

The service here is pretty quick. Once you arrive, you get to order your drinks with the server and then the food can be ordered on the iPad that sits on the table. If you're not that tech savvy like me, you can also order with the server as well! The bulgogi comes with a bowl of rice. However, the bulgogi was pretty dry and didn't have that much flavor. The kimchi fried rice was so flavorful and steaming hot! There was a wide variety of side dishes but my favorite one was the fish cakes. You can also ask for a refill on a side dish too!

I like how they give you 12 banchan! It was a big variety - I particularly liked the eggplant ones which I've never had before. I ordered the wang mandooguk which is my go to at a korean spot and the dumplings were huge! Comes with complimentary rice as well, I thought the broth was not as flavorful as other versions I've had, though i did appreciate the generous portion of rice cakes, meat, egg, and huge dumplings. Service was very quick and efficient. I also tried the tofu soup with medium spice and it wasn't spicy at all (and I have very low spice tolerance) so if you like your soup spicy just keep that in mind! Ambiance inside is lively and bustling. We were seated in a booth which was very comfy.

7.5/10 Ordered the Bulgogi, Dolsot Bibimbap, and Beef Soon Tofu. Starting with the Bulgogi 8.8/10 , which was easily the best dish of the meal. The meat was tender and cooked perfectly. I loved the addition of green onions on top and the onions underneath, it added great flavor and balance. The only downside was that the slices of beef were way too large. Although they provided scissors at the table, it would've been nice if the kitchen had cut the meat into manageable pieces beforehand. Still, flavor-wise, this was the standout dish. Next, the Dolsot Bibimbap 8/10. It was good and met expectations, but nothing particularly special. Not the best I've had, but still solid overall. There wasn't quite enough beef, in my opinion, but the egg was cooked well and the assortment of vegetables was fresh and flavorful. A decent choice, just not a standout. Lastly, the Beef Soon Tofu 7/10. This one was the most disappointing. They really skimped on the beef and overloaded it with tofu, it felt like an entire block in the bowl. It wasn't very satisfying. The spice level was on point, which was probably the best part of the dish, but overall it fell short compared to others I've had. All the side dishes were amazing, especially the potatoes. They were very attentive about refilling them, which we appreciated. Service was fast, the restaurant was clean, and the ambiance was nice. Being able to order from a tablet at the table was also very convenient.

I came here for dinner with my family and we had a great time! We were immediately seated and the restaurant was busy! Lots of seating available and well lit. We ordered on a kiosk and the food came out soon after. The service was very good, and the food delicious. I loved the seafood pancake and galbi. The mandus were also stuffed generously. The sauce in the rose tteok-bokki was creamy. The only thing we would skip next time is the kimchi fried rice, it was good but we have had better. Otherwise, great food and great service!

Has been my favorite tofu soup place in Bay Area for a while. I usually order the oyster tofu soup which has such rich flavor in it and a lot of oysters. You can also pick your own spice level. We also ordered seafood pancake, which was mid. Too much flour and too thick. Banchan they provide is always great, tons of choices and refillable.

Got some Korean food with a friend and tried Tofu Plus for the first time. We got the spicy rice cakes (Tteok-bokki) and budae jjigae and it was pretty yummy! The waitstaff was very attentive and nice. I enjoyed sitting in a booth, they were comfortable and spacious. I also really enjoyed the sides that came with the meal.

Came here on a Monday night and it was pretty packed. I love this place because of how many bonchons they give you plus you can refill them, but it is a little hard to get a servers attention as they are extremely busy I ordered the tofu soup, ssamjang, and seafood pancake. The soup was pretty standard to other Korean restaurants. We got the single portion of the ssamjiang and it was massive. It was more than enough for 2 people. I was kinda disappointed at the seafood pancake as I wish it was a little more crispy and had some more flavor.

Ramen Tofu with Seafood and Beef

Final Thoughts: 1.50/5 Umm...I think I'm going to have to round this one down to 1 star for today. Today's experience and food in general were so underwhelming. Perhaps I had expectations of this place being similar to Jeonju or Big Spoon, but unfortunately, I was very disappointed with what was provided given what the prices are today. Food: Banchans: 3.0/5 My one plus for this place is going to be the variety of side dishes. There are 12 provided to us. Their kimchi is actually quite good. My preference is definitely leaning on a sweeter kimchi and this one delivered. Maybe I should have just eaten this with the rice for a better meal. Ramen Tofu with Seafood and Beef: 1.0/5 This looks like something you could create at home with a bowl, shin ramen, water, and any garnishes/toppings that you find in your fridge. Presentation wise, my phone did not want to eat any of these foods first. The noodles were just thrown into some room temperature broth. Upon entering the table, the broth wasn't even hot. Our waitress cracked an egg in and it did not cook...It remained raw...never something I want to see because that means the broth is not fresh by any means. For the ramen, it wasn't even stirred and cooked in. The ramen was still holding it's form of the dry ramen block when my friend picked it up. Spicy Rose Rice Cake: 1.1/5 The rice cake was so mushy for this. There was no bite to it at all, which is interesting because this rice cake is thicker. Perhaps this rice cake is made in-house and fresh, so it is more susceptible to being softer. It's just so soft and really a stick of dough, which is not the best mouthfeel for me. Their sauce is quite good in flavor. It has a small kick and it has that sweetness that I like, but this consistency was so so thin. The rice cake was just swimming in this broth. Usually for rose tteokbokki, it's thicker because of the cheese. That is not the case here. It's basically thin consistency versus being a creamy thicker sauce. This serving size is also not it for the price. More about that in the pricing section. Dolsot Bibimbap: 1.1/5 Truly, the only thing saving this food item for me is the bibimbap sauce and I am assuming that this item is not made in-house. The sauce is very savory and sweet with a nice kick to it. Regarding the bibimbap itself, it was very underwhelming compared to other places. The rice is mushy, borderline porridge. I'm not sure if we just got the rice at the bottom of the rice cooker that just absorbed too much of the water, but all of the rice that we got today was so mushy and wet. It really ruined the remainder of the dish because that is the base of it. The beef was not seasoned nor was the rest of the toppings for this dish. I digress. --------- Quality: Not made to order These foods came a large pot or a food warmer of sorts because the food was not hot and came out so quickly. While this does satisfy the timeliness aspect, I think there should be a waiting time, so that we could get freshy made and hot foods. What we got today was food that has been sitting there in a pot and ready to serve. They did not even bother to heat these foods up, which is something I cannot overlook. Price: Expensive Price tag $$$$ for what you get. We received something so underwhelming. For three items, our total came out to be more than $90. Now, if I think about it, my instant ramen bowl that I make at home will not cost $30 nor will it have room temperature broth. The price range for most of these dishes range from around $20-40 with some outliers. That sounds absurd for these dishes. Now, if they provided us a larger plate of food, perhaps I can understand this. Unfortunately, I can't even excuse that because the serving size is truly small, even for me. Another example is the rose tteokbokki, there was just some pieces of fish cake and one egg on a tiny plate. The rest was the few piece of rice cake and glass noodles. Really does not add up to being $26. Service: Nothing significant Everything is really done on the tablet, so there wasn't really anything significant regarding service. The one thing they did for us is crack the egg into our pot of room temperature ramen broth. Otherwise, ordering is on the tablet and they just bring you the food and bring you the check. Ambiance: Your average spacious restaurant This place is quite big and spacious. I like that they have booths that line the walls. I always prefer a booth seat. There is also a lot of walking space in between. Appears to be your average Korean restaurant. Location/Parking: Cupertino Village This place is located in Cupertino Village. There are quite a few places here. Food, beauty stores, bakeries, a grocery store, and boba spots are located here. It does seem like a nice location in general. Parking space is ok. Appears kind of cramped, but parking spots appear optimal. From a birds eye view, there are parking spots on both sides of the store area.

1.5 that I can either round up or down that really only going up to a 2.0 because of the wide variety of banchans they offer. My goodness, what a mess this was. Ramen tofu w/ Seafood and Beef - 2/5 Came out lukewarm and not even boiling such that when they cracked an egg into it, it never cooked and wouldn't even begin to whiten. The free rice it came with was so visibly mushy as well. Hot stone Beef Bibambap - 1/5 Oh boy, rice was mushy, somehow. Also, similar to the tofu soup, no usual sizzling that one would hear for bibambaps Rose Rice Cakes - 1/5 Everything was mushy and the texture of the rose sauce was so watery that it was offputting. Pricing - 1/5 Horrendous. None of these items deserved to be above $15 and the fact they were around $23-26 is crazy. Not only was the quality terrible as above, the quantity is extremely sad. Save your money and just go to one of the better stores in the same plaza. Service is nothing special. Ambiance looks nice but that's it.

Tofu Plus is a really solid place for Soondubu and other classic Korean dishes. The food is very homey and the sides are absolutely refreshing. The variety always blows me away. Each side is very well balanced and the flavors are great. The vegetable pancake was extremely crispy and delicious. The vegetable bibimbap would've been better on a stone pot but it was still really good. The mushroom Soondubu with ramen was not overwhelming at all. I wish there were more variety of mushrooms but it was still really great. Service was fast and observant on when dishes needed to be taken away. This place is also always packed but they're very efficient in getting tables cleared asap for other parties. This place is definitely one of the better Korean restaurants in the Bay.

First time here with friends checking out this Korean restaurant. We arrived early just as they opened before the weekday lunch rush and we were seated right away. The food was delicious! I ordered the clam tofu stew. We got plenty of banchan and it was refilled upon request. Everything was really tasty, service was fast. I would definitely come back--there are lots to choose from on the menu.

We've been loyal customers of Tofu Plus for almost 10 years, and every time we go, we're super happy with the food and service. This time we had their tofu soup and kimchi fried rice, and as always, the star of the show was the huge spread of banchan! They give you up to 12 kinds! Honestly, you might fill up on those because they're delicious, and we love that they still keep that tradition alive after 10 years. Overall, always a great experience, and we'll be coming back!

There is a vegetable soon tofu and a mushroom soon tofu, but I don't know what the broths are made of. Also, there's Bebim Naengmyun (buckwheat noodles tossed in a spicy sauce), but I don't know what the sauce contains.

There seems to be quite a few changes. The menu now leans very tapas heavy. There were a lot of options that was quite overwhelming. The menu itself wasn't very descriptive either, we had to ask our servers to explain several dishes. For starters: Mushroom Risotto: (0/5) bland, like REALLY bland to the point were I second guess if they forgot to seasoned it. We flag it and the servers offered us to sent back to the kitchen and we'll pick something else from the menu. Catch of the day, Miso Black Cod: (2/5) Fish were pan seared on a bed of wild rice. Fish top was nice and crispy, but seems under seasoned. The miso was sweet and tangy, but lacked strong unami miso flavor. Wild Salmon Lemon Beurro Blanc: (3/5) This was the dish we opt to switch for the risotto as it was recommend twice by 2 different server. The salmon was questionably very white, (not sure if that's normal for wild salmon). The taste does have the butteriness of salmon but the texture was less soft and has more bounce to it which was nice and different. The salmon itself was also very under seasoned but the mashed potatoes that came with it was really good and saved this dish! Bone in Short Rib: (2/5) Short rib came pipping hot and looked very saucy and promising! It was served with broccolini that has a nice snap to them and some potatoes. The potatoes under were kinda cold. The short rib was again, under seasoned. If it came if a little bit more sauce, that maybe could have saved it. We asked for salt & pepper to seasoned all our dishes, the server came back 10 minutes later asked for it to give to another table since they only have one set for the entire restaurant. Other things to note: - Phone reception is bad, try to look at pictures of the dishes beforehand since it took us forever to load pictures on yelp and the menu weren't helpful. - Servers were nice & friendly but I can tell they were busy, there's multiple times we failed trying to flag them. - Food took quite a while to come out, around 20-30 minutes. It seems now that the focus has shifted more toward being a bar with small tapas and cocktails, rather than a food-centered experience. I wish I had read more recent reviews beforehand--it seems I'm not the only one who's noticed a decline in food quality. Sadly, I don't think I'll be coming back.

Service sizes are generous, and this definitely would've been enough for 4+ people to share. There was a great assortment of different banchan - my favorite is the jelly! The pancake was nice and crispy, with a good amount of seafood, the bibimbap had a great amount of crispy rice at the bottom and the tofu soup was comforting and exactly what we were looking for. The bossam had a lot of meat - I kind of wished there was more radish and napa to go with the meat, but it was tender, not too fatty, and satisfying. We had plenty of leftovers to take home. Jang su jang is still a classic staple, and has a delicious offering for almost any korean craving you could want. It's a little pricey, but comparable to other options in the area with consistent quality that makes it worth it in my opinion.

The servers were nice and kind to us. There's private rooms inside too for bigger parties. We got the japchae, beef stew, and LA Galbi (not pictured). The japchae was pretty average, but I did enjoy the amount of veggies and meat! 8/10 My favorite was the LA Galbi. It was marinated soooo well and deliciously. Well priced in comparison to many other korean places ! 10/10 Maybe im too spoiled with BCD tofu house but the soup was not that great. i got mild spice (my usual at places) and it overall tasted pretty bland to me. It wasnt the best but it wasnt the worst either. Not spicy, not greatly flavored but still seasoned enough. Once was enough for me, I wouldnt get it again. 7/10 The vibes were nice despite the plaza looking as run down as it is. They have a sign in the front saying to grab any items of value from ur car due to high rate of car break-ins. Overall my experience w this location was 7/10. I would rec the galbi to anyone and need to try their hot pot menu!
