Came back for the third time and was really excited to bring my cousin in from LA--she's used to some of the best KBBQ out there, so we've always felt confident recommending this spot alongside 10 Butchers. This visit just felt a little off compared to our previous ones. Service wasn't as good, and the meat didn't quite hit the same as before. At this price point, it didn't feel as worth it this time around. We've recommended this place to so many friends and clients, so we're hoping it was just an off night. Not sure We'll be back anytime soon!

Really enjoyed the service and the porkbelly:daechang here. The banchan and the naengmyeon was great too.

So yummy! Their raw marinated crabs are perfection and I devoured them as a savory lover. Their meat was also tender and juicy, albeit a little pricey. I really enjoyed their combo's which helps with decision fatigue and the kind korean aunties also help you grill the meat too. The customer service was great and such a solid place for some good ole hansik!

Don Blanc Sunnyvale is the second location opened in the Bay Area, with their original location being in Oakland. I've heard great things about the meat quality and service at this restaurant, so I had to take my family to try it out. Although a Saturday night, the restaurant wasn't too crowded and we were seated right away. Our server was extremely knowledgeable in helping us choose which meat combo to order, and recommended Beef Combo B over Beef Combo A for our group of 4. We also ordered a seafood pancake for the table, and our server brought out banchan dishes and starter salad for us. This is a premium Korean bbq restaurant, so everything is cooked in front of you by the servers, and you don't have to touch the grill. You can see the wall of meat fridges in the back where they prepare all of the cuts, so you know they take their meat quality seriously! Seating area was decently spacious and each table had their own grill. Our server checked up on us frequently. Beef Combo B: Comes with 3 cuts of beef: brisket, boneless galbi, and marinated boneless "monster" short rib. Also comes with a choice of kimchi or soybean soup. All of the meats were melt-in-your-mouth quality, our favorite being the "monster" short rib that our server highly recommended and only comes with Combo B. Seafood pancake: Decent portion but wish it was crispier. Star of the show is definitely the beef.

First time visiting the Sunnyvale location and noticed the menu is a bit different from the Oakland spot. We ordered the medium intestine combo with both large and small intestine. Portions here actually felt bigger than what we've had in Oakland, and our server was kind enough to accommodate us with a double portion of large intestine even though she mentioned it normally isn't allowed -- really appreciated that gesture. We also ordered the kalbi jjim. Flavor-wise it was delicious and well prepared, but the portion felt quite small for the $75 price point. We came in for a late dinner and did feel a bit rushed toward the end of our meal. Although closing time was 11pm, there was noticeable pressure to wrap up about 15 minutes beforehand, which made the experience slightly uncomfortable. Parking: Plenty of space in the shared lot.

Love this place. Delicious bon chon and great K-bbq

Absolutely delicious food. What I like about this place is the fact that I don't need to cook the food and they cook it for you. Unlike other Korean restaurants that serve K BBQ. Delicious bon chon. Service was good. Ambience is good, but the restroom kind of has a foul smell. Otherwise it would have been a 5 star review

Expensive spot but always a good time with quality food and amazing table side service! Three friends and I shared the Beef Set A which comes with prime brisket, LA galbi, marinated boneless galbi, choice of kimchi or soybean stew, and a bunch of sides. The meat is cooked right in front of you and they also serve the soup for you. I'd definitely recommend this set for 3 people rather than 4. We were satisfied but had to get an extra order of kimchi fried rice in the side to reach that point. Everything always tastes super fresh and yummy though! A large space indeed! Super clean and well decorated for the holidays. Always welcoming too. Would recommend for a splurge!

Came on a weekday night and got a table immediately. As a party of 2, we decided to order the beef set B but really wanted the tartare (yukhoe) so we got that as well. The tartare was delicious. Although it wasn't served with slices of Korean pear, it held the sweetness of the pears from the marinade and was perfect when paired with a little wasabi. The beef set B came with beef brisket, LA galbi, and the monster beef rib. All 3 cuts were good but the monster beef rib was definitely the star. So tender and fatty while still tasting beefy and meaty. I think the set B menu would've been enough for 2 people with a medium appetite but with 3 or more, would probably need to be supplemented with some ala carte meats. With our extra order of tartare, the 2 of us were stuffed and very satisfied. Staff was very attentive and friendly. They cook for you but also come by to check in even when the meats are done cooking. Good selection of regular and flavored soju, as well as beer and makgeolli too! I'll definitely be back!

We came back again on Thanksgiving, great service and food! This time we ordered LA Galbi again, galbitang, tofu soup and fried chicken. It reminds me of the delicious Kbbq in Oakland when I was growing up. Everything was so satisfying, this is our new favorite Kbbq spot :)

Another new KBBQ spot in South Bay, so of course I'll be giving them a try to report back! Don Blanc is the second location of the Don Blanc is Oakland and they serve beef, pork, and intestines. There are no places in the Bay that serve intestines so I was really excited to see if this place would become my go-to. I was able to make a reservation easily over the phone and we were seated promptly. Our reservation was at 6pm and the restaurant started filling up by 7pm, so I recommend making a reservation during the weekends to ensure you get a table. My party of 6 ordered the pork combo for 3 and the intestine combo for 3. My favorite cut was the pork jowl because it was cut thinner so the edges really crisped up. One of the sauces for the intestines was also really good - I think it was fish sauce based? The kimchi jigae was flavorful and was the perfect accompaniment to the greasy pork. The server also grills the meat for us, which is a nice bonus. Being Korean (and impatient), we were flipping and cutting the meat half the time. Service was friendly and attentive as well. Don Blanc is a nice addition to the ever-growing list of KBBQ spots in the Bay, but I'm not complaining! Love that they have intestines.

Came on a Thursday for a late night dinner. There was only one other group there and I think people are sleeping on this place. Quick service was provided, your server cooks for you, and meat quality was one of the best I've had in the Bay Area. I've been to Korea a few times and I felt the Korean restaurant vibe/atmosphere here. Not many places offer makgeolli either so that was a bonus! We ordered Beef Type A menu (Prime Brisket, Angus Short Rib, "LA Galbi", and your choice kimchi soup (has pork)/ or soybean soup (with beef). Marinated Boneless Galbi Enough to serve 3 people comfortably without feeling overly stuffed. Rice sold separately. Would highly recommend this spot and will definitely be returning!

Solid choice for Korean barbecue. They have some nice combo meals that makes it easy to order in a large group. Food came out pretty quickly. Waitress was generous to give us lots of garlic since my friend and I loved it. My only complaint is that the marinated crab tasted still kind of frozen. We asked to have the Tteokbokki really spicy, but it was still like medium spice, or is that just our spice tolerance? It's also great that there's plenty of parking in this lot unlike some other plazas on this street. I'd come back again with a large party. Service - 5 / Ambiance - 5 / Food - 4 / Price - 3.5

A new Korean BBQ place, I had the pleasure of being invited as a guest from a friend, so I just got to go with the flow and ate whatever they ordered for the table. I believe they got the beef combo platter. I believe it was four different cuts of beef. All I remember was that all the beef we got was tender, fatty, and buttery (in the good beefiness way). The interior kind of reminds me of old school vibe of place, like kind of grit and grind where after a hard days of where, you come here and just enjoy the grilling of meat and drinks with your peers and friends. Our waitress did a good job of getting to us as I believe we did ask for more salads and other side dishes pretty frequently. Come check this place out of y'all have the time.

Ambiance It looks and feels like your neighborhood bbq restaurant, with matching music chairs and tablecloths. It was cooked to perfection, and you can choose from many bbq sauces available. I ended up getting the pork beef and chicken, with corn bread and potato salad. Their potato salad was to die for! The only thing that I guess I was shocked by was the price. My meal came out to around 6 dollars after tip, and I thought it would be closer to 30. All in all, I give this spot a 4/5 would recommend!

I've been to 3 others Redwood City BBQ, South Winchester BBQ (San Jose), and Canyon's BBQ (Castro Valley) and I've reviewed most of those quite favorably, except for 1. But they have about 4 others that I haven't been but are on my list. I guess now I'll know they are more the same than they are different. I knew walking in that I was going to like it. A strong aroma of wood smoke hugs you upon entering. A cool mural outside, lots of beers and bbq on the tables, cool tunes that was all over the place genre wise. 2 Meat Combo ($26/4.5*) Crazy solid combo. Not as juicy as I would prefer but between the perfect smoke content and their seasoning just makes me happy enough. Brisket: Their brisket is awesome. Not as juicy as some of the top notch places here in the Bay, but the flavor was perfect for me. Assertive smokiness without being overbearing. Get a piece with a good layer of fat and it was basically hearty beef bacon. I rarely put sauce on brisket but theirs is not bad, maybe just a dot or 2. Ribs: Also drier than what I like but the flavor and meaty texture was enough for me. Definitely have to pull these off the bone a bit, does not easily fall off, which I actually prefer. I like toothsome versus mushy meat. These ribs do have a layer of bbq sauce cooked into them, so it has a sweet and tangy flavor already in it. But they still can accept extra sauce, as it will not only moisten the ribs further but it will amp up the tang and sweetness that pork ribs are natural for. Tried 2 sides, beans and coleslaw. The beans aren't the super sweet kind, which I liked. More chili-like very hearty and complimenting to the smoky bbq. The slaw was perfect, crisp with a creamy yet slightly sweet dressing. Crazy good, I could actually eat their sides alone as a meal. Their corn bread here is strange. It is cooked in a sheetpan and cut into squares much like a brownie. But that square is then griddled til golden brown so I totally thought it was garlic bread at first. The other bbq spots I tried from this same company didn't make corn bread like that, so this was a first for me. Probably the only miss for me here. Also tried a half pound of Tri Tip ($20/4*) Very meaty that they were able to keep it a nice pink medium, which I like. But much milder in smoke than their brisket and ribs. I ended up making sandwiches with these at home. They are sliced pretty thick so you may have to slice some of them further. It bites easier in thinner slices versus monster thick slices that will pull out of the bread with each bite. I learned that on this out so just throwing out a tip. A solid bbq throwdown with a cold frosty one, plus lots of leftovers for work lunches the next few days, is just an out I can repeat over and over. Glad I found this spot!

The location that we went to is located next to Maggiano's Little Italy in Santana Row on Olin Ave. There is a free 2 hour parking structure across of the restaurant where my boyfriend and I parked at. We came during their Lunch Specials (until 4pm) and Happy Hour (from 3-5:30pm) which worked perfectly as we wanted something smaller in portion compared to the dinner portions. We started off with drinks. I got their Pig Ol' Bitties Blonde Ale, and my boyfriend got their Friday Beer & Shot special of This Little Piggy Went to [Mark]et with a 16 oz Dirty Little Pig IPA and a shot of Benchmark whiskey. My fault for having him get a whiskey shot on an empty stomach, though HAHA. He did like how smooth the whiskey was at least! We shared a 2-meat BBQ Lunch Combo Plate, and honestly, we should have gotten 3 meats because of how tender and delicious everything was! We got their Tri Tip and Sliced Brisket with their Garlic Mash and server recommended Sweet Potato Tots. Ahhh, everything was so good! Aside from the tender, flavorful meats, the two sides, especially the garlic mash, were sooooo good. We both loved everything! It was definitely a great choice coming during lunch as we were quite full after ordering one of their happy hour shareables of Chips & Queso (kind of pricey even for happy hour in my opinion for chips and cheese). Honestly wished we got their Chili Cheese Fries or their other fries which were the same price than just chips and dip LOL. But it was a good hold over food with us drinking a bit (at least for me). Shoutout to the only server who was working on a late Friday afternoon as she was doing her best to accommodate everyone + trying to clean up the previous tables. It was kind of sad seeing that the other workers didn't help bus the tables in my opinion. Overall, a great place to watch sports and have some good whiskey as this restaurant is known for their whiskey selections! The lunch BBQ exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely come back for another lunch special meal but probably with 3 meats this time!
