I had a great time at Laughing Monk on two separate occasions. Both their indoor and outdoor seating are great options depending on the weather. Clear big windows inside as well as the outdoor seating has a great view of a nearby pond and walking area. The food is quite amazing, we really enjoyed the Crispy Monk Green Beans and Lemon Pepper Calamari. Laughing Monk's drink selection was also nice and dishes paired well with beers. They also have a selection of non alcoholic drinks. Their staff are incredibly friendly and helpful although on both occasions they seemed to be short staffed. Overall an amazing experience and we look forward to visiting again!

Did a reservation for 14 people, walked in at 3:30 and was empty! Whoa I was little scared because empty restaurants usually doesn't mean it will be good. Server was nice. Food came out hot! And was all good, I don't know what was on the nachos we ordered to share. Not sure if it had cotiga cheese in the beans or sour cream. But sometimes cotiga smells stinky and taste funny and that's what the nachos had Shared pizza and sandwiche with a friend. Both were good. Tasted the steak from my sister and it was delicious Everyone was happy and they also honored their happy hour which was nice.

Great place to stop by after work in Sunnyvale for some drinks and food. Small wait on a Friday night but lots of seatings here. Good amount of beer selections to start us off. Food here are shareable sizes especially the nachos! Nachos was loaded. Their wings were all right. Fish and chips were crispy inside and went well with the tartar sauce. Server was attentive and made sure we got everything we needed.

I had no idea they opened a Laughing Monk in Sunnyvale! It's a huge space with many tables and large windows that overlook water and a dog park. It's casual brewery food with a large list of beers and cocktails. The service was a bit slow on the night we went, not sure why as it didn't look that busy. We got a burger and a buffalo Mac pizza. The burger was solid and the pizza was a bit oily, but it has a nice garlicky flavor.

Had a great time at Laughing Monk Brewing. The vibe here is awesome. super laid-back but still lively, the kind of spot you can easily hang out at for a while. The beers were really solid with a great variety, so there's something for everyone whether you like lighter, crisp beers or something with more flavor. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and everything felt well run and relaxed. It's a perfect place to meet up with friends, grab a few drinks, and just watch a game. Definitely coming back during football season. Highly recommend if you're in the Sunnyvale area

This used to be the hottest microbrewery of south bay. Then Gorden Biersch came, then other microbreweries came, then they sold and changed name to Laughing Monks. It was exactly the same deco as before, including the outdoor seating. Still good beers and good bar foods. But at least 25% higher in prices than other beer places. Really?? I admit the fares are above average, but not that much better.

First time here since it was Faultline. Was it a hit or a miss? We had a couple of appetizers one of which I dared myself for. The Philly Cheesesteak Eggrolls were not at all remotely close to the taste of a cheesesteak or other Cheesesteak Eggrolls I've had. Hard pass, as they need work. On the other hand, the Beer Can Nachos with shredded pork was very good as were the IPA's. Outdoor seating is very comforting.

Laughing Monk was something we stumbled on my accident and I am so happy we did. With a ton of indoor and outdoor seating, we've never had to wait long for a table. The restaurant overlooks a really pretty pond. Their food is amazing, my favorite appetizer is the giant hanging pretzel and I really enjoy their salads. As a brewery, the places has a cool modern feel.

A really fun place to have a drink or meal. The interior has large wooden beams mimicking a high-ceiling cabin feel, and much of the seating overlooks the pond which is a beautiful view. The first time we came here was for a Father's Day lunch with a group of eight plus two babies, and we got very warm and patient service. This was our second time in, and we ordered a couple of pizzas to go with our beer. The Buffalo Mac (with mushrooms subbed in for the chicken) and El Presidente (with jalapenos subbed in for the carnitas) were very different from each other but both delicious. They seem to have a new policy (at least one that wasn't there during our first visit) of only serving one beer per person at a time, but you can get multiple 2 oz pours to sample in addition to your 12 or 16 oz drink. My favorite was the Sunny Side Kolsch. The only disappointment was the Stout Chocolate Cake, which was dry and didn't taste any different from a regular chocolate cake.

I came here one evening with some friends. I tried the truffle pub curds, salmon burger, soup of the day which was clam chowder and a few drinks. The portion sizes here are big for the price, they have various food and drink options. Good amount of TVs to watch games and feels family friendly. It's a nice spot to hang out and they have a large parking lot too!

Enjoyed a mid-week lunch on the dog-friendly patio here. Food was good, beer selection excellent. Service a bit slow but hey, it's a HUGE PLACE. Will come back on a warm, summer evening!

Taste: 8/10 Service: 9/10 Environment: 10/10 with beautiful view right outside Drink: the pink panther, it is pretty good for those that like fruity cocktails. Appetizer: poke tower I don't recommend it,it taste a bit slimy and lacks flavor but my partner was ok with it. I typically do enjoy sushi/poke but this wasn't it. Entree: blacken chicken sandwich, bourbon burger both very juicy. Highly recommend bourbon. The fries are crispy but soft inside Overall their portion is very generous, and they are all pretty tasty. Service was fast despite a huge influx of tech employees coming in on a week day night. I would definitely recommend this place, but personally I would hold off on the poke tower.

I've been to the Laughing Monk Brewing twice in the past six months. Both times was for lunch with a bunch of coworkers. Each visit, there have been very few customers in the large restaurant. They have their own parking lot, so parking in this industrial area is super easy too. Note-they carry Pepsi brand beverages, so that's a bummer, but the food has been solid and service has been good.

(note: you can apparently order pizza, but only a whole pizza, at the bar) They also had been doing slightly better with bar staffing, with the bar being open more often than not, though still sometimes closing early and often 'temporarily closed' while the bartender went on break or on lunch. I guess the idea of having coverage is unknown to management here. BUT, now the bar has been closed for several days because "no one's been available to come in". I don't understand how management here is so incompetent with staffing. Bottom line: this place is good for beer (but not food) and terrible about being open. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they end up closing this taproom down like they did to several other Wholefoods taprooms. Sad really.

Every guest around you is always having a good time. This is a key component that you want to experience in a restaurant setting. Masha took care of me today (and multiple other customers at the same time.) I observed and received nothing short of what is expected in a restaurant setting in Mountain View on Castro Street: Quality service, and great suggestions. I think guests sometimes overlook the novelty of being able to enjoy your time in the establishment you choose to dine at. Folks seem to be in such a rush these days. It's nice to slow down and enjoy the sunshine and hustle/bustle of the world around while enjoying a quality meal and some sunshine or indoors while letting the wind sweep your table top. P.s. if you ever have some issues with your experience--talk to the staff. Don't leave a low quality yelp review. It doesn't help anything besides, perhaps, one's self esteem.

We also ordered some jager fries (fries with mushroom gravy/jager sauce, cheese, and green onions). The wrapped sausage was the standout! We also ordered two half liter beers - I love the selection of German beers and local beers. This being a biergarten, of course we went German. Overall, a beautiful way to spend an afternoon! I would definitely try non-happy hour menu items and try to make my way down their beer list.

Perfectly cooked (I ordered medium rare - no lectures on that, please) and they did it correctly. Served on a wonderful brioche bun and accompanied by excellent fries. Living with multiple food allergies can make eating out stressful and, at times, discouraging. Many restaurants try their best, but it's rare to encounter someone who goes as far above and beyond as Jason did. From the very beginning, Jason took my allergies seriously. Rather than treating them as a simple modification request, he took the time to understand my specific concerns and personally communicated with the chef to ensure every precaution was taken. What impressed me most was that he didn't just ask once and move on--he followed up multiple times throughout the process, making sure every item I received was prepared as safely as possible. His level of attention and care gave me confidence that my health and safety truly mattered. Jason's kindness was evident in every interaction. He patiently answered questions, verified ingredients, and double-checked preparation methods. Instead of making me feel like my allergies were an inconvenience, he made me feel welcomed and valued as a guest. That level of empathy means more than people without food allergies may realize. The extra precautions taken in the kitchen were remarkable. Jason coordinated with the chef to ensure separate cooking methods were used whenever necessary and that steps were taken to minimize any risk of cross-contact. My food was packaged separately and clearly distinguished from the rest of the order, which immediately showed me how much thought had gone into keeping my meal safe. Even more touching were the notes left on the packaging specifically for me. Those small details demonstrated a level of personal care that is incredibly rare in the restaurant industry. Because of my allergies, my meal options were understandably limited. I ordered a plain burger with sautéed green beans, while my friends enjoyed several different burgers from the menu. Although my meal was simple, it was prepared perfectly. The burger was cooked exactly as requested, allowing the quality of the meat to stand on its own, and the green beans were fresh, tender, and flavorful. Most importantly, I was able to enjoy a restaurant meal with confidence instead of anxiety. My friends thoroughly enjoyed their burgers as well, commenting on the flavor, quality, and preparation. It was wonderful that everyone at the table could have a great dining experience, despite having very different dietary needs. What touched me most from this visit isn't just the food--it's the care. Jason's willingness to communicate with the chef, verify ingredients, package items separately, use special preparation methods, and personally check in throughout the process transformed what could have been a stressful experience into an enjoyable one. For those of us with food allergies, being able to order food safely is something we never take for granted. Jason made that possible. Exceptional customer service is often defined as exceeding expectations, and Jason exceeded mine at every step. Experiences like this create loyal customers, and Jason is a perfect example of how kindness and care can make a lasting impact.
