10/10 YOU HAVE TO GO TRY THIS PLACE. THE FOOD QUALITY IS AMAZING. EVERYTHING TASTED SO FRESH. I have dreams of that Avococo drink my partner and I shared. My partner and I also shared a delicious Bahn Mi. The bread was fresh, crunchy, and overall one of the best Bahn Mi's I have ever experienced. The workers were super nice and kept checking in on us, which was much appreciated! The inside of the place is also super cutesy and comfortable. GO CHECK OUT SAIGON BREAKFAST!

The ambience is nice and the staff is friendly. Plenty of parking. I ordered the salted Vietnamese coffee. The taste was strong and authentic, but overall it didn't blow me away. The sandwiches looked pretty good though so maybe I'll give them another try.

4/14/2026 Saigon Breadfast 123 E El Camino Real Mountain View, CA 94040 This is a new place replacing the Sandwich Spot, next to the Walgreens. Parking at the Mountain View Shopping Center is plentiful. I went there for a take home Banh Mi on an early Tuesday evening. I was the only customer there and I ordered the 6. Saigon's Signature from the menu board at the pay counter. Which was ready quickly. The interior has a few tables and a long bench and table for dining. It's new, modern and clean. The menu is mostly Banh Mi sandwiches and sweet drinks. My sandwich was well constructed with bread with a crunchy crust and soft inside, generous amounts of protein, fresh pickles and crunchy cucumber slices. There was nothing memorable about the flavor profile, probably to make it suitable for the American sub sandwich palate. My smaller size was very filling and I saved half for later. I am not a fan of sandwiches in general but their Banh Mi is good so give them a try. May repeat.

Saigon Breadfast seriously surprised me. This is easily one of the best banh mi spots in the Bay Area and honestly I'd put it above a lot of places in SoCal too. My wife is from Vietnam and she approved, which says everything. The bread is the star. Fresh baked, pillowy soft on the inside with a light crunch on the outside. It does not shred your mouth like some places do. It's actually very close to what you get in Vietnam, which is rare out here. The pork is fragrant and clean tasting, not gamy at all. You can tell they care about quality. The overall sandwich just hits right. Only a couple things to improve. The pate was a bit runny and the grilled pork didn't really taste grilled, more like it was cooked on a flat top. Fix that and this place is top tier across the board. A huge plus is the outdoor table and fantastic customer service they greet you as soon as you enter. Still, really solid spot. I'll definitely be coming back.

Update: went back again with a friend for their egg coffee - it was too bitter for me this time (my fiance liked it, but he's more of coffee drinker than I am). Not sure why they changed the default sweetness, but I'll have to make sure that I indicate the sweetness next time. The banh mi was good as always.

The reviews of Saigon Breadfast caught my attention, so had to give them a try since I was in the area. Arrived at around 10:30am and was greeted upon entering. Decided to go with the Saigon's Signature. There's the regular and then there's the large. For $3 more I went with the large - figured I could share the other half with the hubs. Then realized they had a large sandwich and choice of drink combo special - save a couple of $$$ by going with the combo. After asking for recommendations, went with the Egg Foam coffee. The coffee was a bit more bitter than I was expecting - probably wouldn't order that again. As for the sandwich, it was BIG. The bread was light and easy to bite through. I think I was expecting more flavor with all the ingredients added to the sandwich. More like 3.5 starts; although, when in the area, I'd go again and try a different item.

    7. Vegetarian Sandwich - Small

I dropped by for lunch around 1:45, and it wasn't too busy. I got the meal deal with #7 Vegetarian Sandwich and a Strawberry Lychee drink. I asked the person at the front to confirm that there aren't any non-vegan ingredients in the sandwich. The menu shows tofu, cilantro, vinegar carrot, vinegar radish, cucumber, jalapeños, and soy bean sauce, so it doesn't seem non-vegan, but I wanted to be sure. She seemed confused about what vegan means, so I explained that we don't consume dairy, eggs, or any other animal products, and she confirmed it would be fine. So, I ordered it without cilantro. The sandwich was pretty big for a size small. The bread was crusty and it had a lot of tofu and carrots. The tofu was very wet, like there was a puddle of liquid that dripped from the sandwich. I wish it had been more veggie-focused, like I was craving more cucumber, radish, and maybe even mushrooms. The drink was good, it had two pieces of lychee fruit, which I loved. I ordered 25% sweetness, but it was sweeter than expected. I would order it again but ask for 0% sweetness if possible. Although the interior is very cute and I liked the vibe, I've had better vegan banh mi's, so I don't think I would go out of my way to eat here again.

Airy bread with a good balance of meat and pickled veggies. There is limited seating inside for dining in.

Pretty good pastries and pate chaud. The vietnamese coffee is very strong. The interior is really cute and modern, definitely a nice place to meet up with friends or just work.

Im supper glad that finally a legit banh mi spot is open in the area. Ambiance is nice and clean with lots of tables, cute decor. Staff is friendly and welcoming. The banh mi and all drinks are so bombbbb. The combo deal is such a steal because banh mi are loaded and drinks are even better than some branded boba shops. PSA: the #8 is "SEASONING" pork belly aka the reddish saigon jambon in the banh mi, not "ROASTED" or heo quay. Keep that in mind when you order. It was still very good but i couldnt finish the whole banh mi with just that jambon. It's better paired with head cheese and chả. Highly recommend the #6. Menu also carries lots of viet small bites: cha gio, pate chaud etc Will def come back for more and recommend to friends and family !

3.5 stars maybe 4 - Bread was very soft! I had the veggie sandwich and it was pretty good the vegan meat was really unique in texture in a good way but I think the soy sauce was wayyy too sweet for my taste I also got an egg coffee which was really strong and a bit more bitter than I expected - again not really my taste. Overall food was good and filling but maybe a little not my palette. Inside was very cute !

Large grilled pork banh mi cut in half

It's great to have a banh mi option in Mountain View, even if it's pricier than the SJ/Sunnyvale counterparts. The grilled pork banh mi was decent, but the meat was a little dry and lacked a smoky char. Small was enough to satisfy me, but I opted to get a large the second time I went. The coffee is strong, though the egg foam was much thicker than I've had elsewhere, which wasn't quite to my taste. Grab the combo (large banh mi and drink of your choice) to save a few bucks! 3.5 stars, but rounded to 4.

This is a new Banh Mi spot in Mountain View. In general, spots such as these do not survive or do well. It might be due to their pricing being a bit high compared to what you can get in San Jose. However, we're in Mountain View and I am hoping they do well. Their #8 sandwich was both filling and good tasting. Mind you, I did order the large version. I would say the carrots, etc. need a bit more of a vinegar/pickling taste. I was initially going to order their #1 Grilled Pork sandwich but I wanted pate in it. I could not tell from their menu if they allowed add-ons and I did not ask the cashier. The next time I am here, I will try one of their boba drinks.

Flavors are nice but it was very dry. There was no mayo or sauce. It was just dry bread and fillings.

Nice location - lots of parking and we love to have found a Vietnamese coffee place. I typically get the egg coffee but decided to go with their new Peanut Butter Latte and I'm so glad I did. It comes already with oat milk which is perfect. I will say - for the large the ratio on cream to coffee was little off. I'd prefer less of the cream and more coffee but it was still delicious and refreshing - not too sweet and had a lot of the PB flavor. Hubby got the Pandan Matcha. He loved it - though it was a bit too sweet for him so he waited for the ice to melt a bit. Not sure if we could have adjusted the sweetness. Youngest got the Banana Latte and devoured it quickly. Fair to say I think she really enjoyed it! Nice that they are so close to us now. Will definitely be one of our go to for Vietnamese coffee!!

Okay but... a hotel coffee shop with good matcha? That's the plot twist I didn't know I needed…read more We stopped here on my way out of Santa Clara heading to San Francisco -- it's conveniently close to a bunch of other spots, and since it's tucked inside a hotel, parking was ridiculously easy. (Underrated luxury.) Now, the hotel itself? Visually... a moment. It looked like someone invested serious money into it, but the design felt a little space-meets-startup-meets-what's-happening-here. Some elements felt elevated, others felt a bit makeshift. I genuinely couldn't tell what the theme was -- futuristic? celestial? boutique-on-a-budget? I'm still processing. The front desk team was clearly well-trained and knowledgeable -- they had every answer, every stat, every rate breakdown ready. But the warmth? Missing. I was hoping for a little storytelling since I'd never heard of the hotel before, and instead got a very matter-of-fact "we've been here five years" energy. Efficient, yes. Inviting, not quite. But let's talk about why you're really here: the coffee shop. Completely different vibe. Two people working, both genuinely happy, welcoming, and quick. We ordered a latte and a matcha to go -- total was about $22, which made me blink for a second -- but then I tasted the matcha. Oh. This wasn't the overly sweet, dusty-green situation you sometimes get. It tasted clean. Real. High-quality. The kind of matcha that feels intentional. I love Firehouse in Marin, but this? This was closer to serious coffee roaster-level quality. Smooth, organic-tasting, beautifully balanced. You could tell they care about what they're serving. Branding was strong, the space was cute, and I could absolutely see myself sitting there with my laptop pretending I'm writing something important. We grabbed ours to go, but it had that easy, airy, "stay awhile" energy. Would I book the hotel? Jury's still out. They don't have an in-house spa and mentioned bringing in third-party services for certain amenities, which made it feel a little less full-service than I expected. Would I go back for the coffee shop? Without hesitation. Delicious drinks, easy parking, quick service, and a vibe that actually makes you want to come back. Sometimes the side character steals the show -- and in this case, it's 100% the matcha.

Because, once again, I was distracted by the quality of the food, and there would be no way for me to do anything else, but to eat! Today, I was in the mood for something more than a salad (much as I wanted to preset what I had the first time coming here, I made a concerted effort to order something else...), thus I chose the Forager Flatbread. It took less time to make this time (roughly about five minutes after ordering), and when it came out, I marveled at how it looked like a work of art! Just beautiful! Each piece of herbed formage blanc flatbread had a nice, crunchy bottom (but not blackened) and a slightly tanginess, with a a good amount of "hen-of-the-wood" mushrooms, sweet roasted garlic and a bed of arugula. My, oh, my! My first bite was a multi-level extravaganza! The crunch of the bread, followed by the aroma of the herbs and arugula, then the saltiness of the cheese, the sweetness of the roasted garlic, the earthiness of the mushrooms - all came together as just a wonderful work of culinary art! This being my first time eating today, my saliva glands just fired off at first bite, causing a bit of intense pain from too much saliva shooting out. But, seriously, this was a very delicious entree, that I enjoyed from start to finish! Bravo for this second joyous experience!
