I came for lunch with my fiance on a weekday afternoon. We originally wanted to get coffee but decided to get their food instead. The inside of their store has 10 tables. I could tell a lot of people took the food to go. They seem to make the bread themselves (they also sell their bread). We ordered Salted Coffee and the Saigon Signature. Coffee: The salted coffee was AMAZING. The cream is sooo good and the sugar level was just right. Sandwich: Honestly this is why I couldn't give this place 5*. The meat and sandwich both felt standard to me. I think the banh mi wasn't fresh enough (consistent with other baguette I've had, but some San Jose bread was way warmer and softer). Omg. Finally a good banh mi place on the (mid/lower) peninsula! As a Vietnamese girlie I am VERY pleased with how tasty, friendly and well-priced Saigon Breadfast is. The pate is very authentic and delicious. The bread is perfection; not too much "filling" so that the banh mi fillings--generous portions of meat, crisp and fresh veggies--can really shine. And the bread exterior provides a nice crunch without tearing up the roof your mouth. Got the special and seasoned pork belly and both were great. Vietnamese ice coffee to wash it down was *chefs kiss*. This place is new, conveniently located and family-run and it shows through the quality of the products and warmth of service. So excited to have a banh mi shop in this area! I really missed having one in a convenient location to me. - this place felt like 4.5 * - the workers were nice and greeted us - clean, decorated shop with plenty of seats! I can see myself and others working out of here (I didn't check if there was free wifi) - we ordered: cafe xua da and it was strongggg and not too bitter! It could be a little milkier but def sweet as expected. - second item we tried was the grilled pork banh mi. At first bite, we immediately thought the bread was soft inside and the right amount of crunch outside! The baguette itself beats some spots in SJ for me. Now my partner and I felt like the grilled pork was seasoned very differently than what we had in other shops. It was unique, almost like the same flavor as Bo Kho? (vietnamese beef stew). The pork left behind an orange oily sauce inside the bread in which that DID not taste like pate, so we didn't think it was that. The flavor threw us off a bit, it wasn't bad nor was it our favorite. Veggies were fine, would love for them to pack more especially seeing that most banh mis on their menu is $11ish but that's expected for this area. Starting off with the good: Very nicely decorated and clean, with more seats/tables available than what is usually offered at a banh mi store. I love that 2 sizes are offered. The large is actly quite large and the price is reasonable for Mountain view. Large selection of drinks, vietnamese coffee was good. But the banh mi needs inprovement. We got the saigon special and the meatball sandwich. In general it seems like the ingredients of the sandwich arent portioned right. There are pickled vegetables in the sandwich but i felt like i wasnt getting enough pickled vegetable flavor in one bite. Pate was also very mild. Def didnt taste the vietnamese mayo if it was in there at all. I think the meatball sandwich should be taken off the menu completely. Ive had a meatball variation at other banh mi stores but this one tasted the most plain. At least mix in some maggi sauce. It was also very soggy. In general, the bread was heated but not necessarily crisp which i think is essential for banh mi. read more

First thing you see when you walk in is their cute mural and photo back drop! You can either order at the front or on the kiosk. Service was quick and my snacks/drinks came out in less than 7 min. I ordered the patechaud, the coconut cloud coffee, and the white Vietnamese coffee. You can customize the sweetness, ice level, and type of milk in your drink. I usually like my coffees more creamy and sweet so that's what I asked for. Their drinks were good but I wish the coconut cloud had more of a coconut taste to it. It was very subtle. I'm so excited to see this place open in the neighborhood! It's such a charming, airy café. This place is perfect for grabbing a coffee or boba and settling in to read, study, or catch up with friends. There's plenty of seating, though outlets are a bit limited. I stopped by after 5 PM, and while it wasn't too busy, my sandwiches took a bit longer to come out than expected. I imagine the team is still fine-tuning their workflow with the recent opening, so I don't mind giving them some grace there. I ordered two large grilled chicken sandwiches, both generously filled with chicken and veggies. The chicken itself had more of a shredded rotisserie texture than the traditional lemongrass-marinated style I'm used to at other Vietnamese sandwich spots, but the flavors were still satisfying and fresh. Went here for early lunch and there was zero wait. You can order from tablet but for combo orders, place your order with the cashier. The menu has lots of different varieties of banh mi and I like that they have matcha drinks in addition to Vietnamese coffees. I order the Saigon special which is their version of cold cuts with the usual pate, cucumber, cilantro, pickled veggies. I asked for no jalapeno and also got a matcha mango drink. They have alternate milk options (almond, oat)! Overall I loved the food here. The bread tastes very fresh with a perfect crust and soft fluffy interior. They give you a generous amount of meat and veggie toppings. I looked that they slice their cucumbers super thin. I've been to places where they put quartered cucumbers and it's just too much. The matcha drink was also very tasty and I like you can modify sweetness level. There's plenty of seating inside and a comfy bench to hangout and get work done or meet with friends. The food here is, fresh delicious and made to order. Don't sleep on the Patechaud because they run out. Super flaky and the filling is flavorful. The ratios for each of the ingredients in their sandwiches are generous and even. They make all of their breads in-house and their coffee's are a must have (I just wish the jelly was half the size to be able to drink through the straw and less ice). They are a little pricey but i think it is reasonable for the area. Over I would definitely recommend checking this place out. My tip, order ahead so you aren't left waiting but they have a good ambiance so I personally wouldn't mind. First off, my only regret is not finding this place sooner. It was delightful! I have been craving banh mi for a while now and found this place... I bought two salted Vietnamese coffees, one small pork banh mi and one small chicken banh mi. The staff were super nice and had no issue communicating to me about certain sizes of bread they were out of and provided alternatives. When the coffee was ready they made sure I enjoyed it before walking away which was super nice. Only comments I have for this place is the viet coffee was on the pricier side for the size. ($7.91 per drink) maybe offering a larger size for that price point or lower the $ and don't be afraid to add more veggies to the sandwich's. Ordered DoorDash to the office. I got the large grilled pork sandwich and drink combo with the veges on the side. The bread wasn't crunchy at all and quite soft for a baguette. This sandwich didn't have any pate or butter which is supposed to be normal for all banh mi but I guess they only put it in the combo sandwich. Without the pate and butter it really lacked that umami kick. As a viet guy I'm kind of disappointed. I wasn't expecting a Duc Huong sandwich but dang. Stopped by while I was in the Mountain View area and decided to try this place after seeing it on Yelp. I usually go to Duoc Huong in San Jose for Vietnamese sandwiches, so I was curious to see how this spot compared. I told the gentleman at the register it was my first time and he was really welcoming. He recommended the Saigon sandwich and a cloud coffee. I definitely needed the coffee because the time change completely messed up my sleep. I ordered the large sandwich since I was craving something filling and it did not disappoint. When we went for takeout on a Saturday around 1pm, they said the sandwich would be 15 min since the bread was still in the oven. It's legit that they bake their own bread like the places in Westminster! We got one pork and one beef. The large is definitely a better value than the small. The meat seasoning was pretty similar between the two, and the pork was less sweet than the traditional kind. I do appreciate the generous amount of meat, and the quality is better than a lot of other places (not gristly). The bread was still warm, which was great. We have tried twice here. Their Banh Mi is very solid (the grilled pork and saigon signature). The portion is very generous, for 2 adults we have to split the small one. But my absolute favorite is their egg rolls. So so yummy, they made it once you order so it is very crispy and hot. I wrapped them with lettuce at home and it tastes even better! The strong coffee paired with the creamy foam was perfectly balanced and not too sweet. I got the large size Saigon Special bahn mi which is good for two people who don't eat that much.
