Egg coffee
Eunice T.

Update: went back again with a friend for their egg coffee - it was too bitter for me this time (my fiance liked it, but he's more of coffee drinker than I am). Not sure why they changed the default sweetness, but I'll have to make sure that I indicate the sweetness next time. The banh mi was good as always.

Saigon's Signature

The reviews of Saigon Breadfast caught my attention, so had to give them a try since I was in the area. Arrived at around 10:30am and was greeted upon entering. Decided to go with the Saigon's Signature. There's the regular and then there's the large. For $3 more I went with the large - figured I could share the other half with the hubs. Then realized they had a large sandwich and choice of drink combo special - save a couple of $$$ by going with the combo. After asking for recommendations, went with the Egg Foam coffee. The coffee was a bit more bitter than I was expecting - probably wouldn't order that again. As for the sandwich, it was BIG. The bread was light and easy to bite through. I think I was expecting more flavor with all the ingredients added to the sandwich. More like 3.5 starts; although, when in the area, I'd go again and try a different item.

7. Vegetarian Sandwich - Small
Serina N.

I dropped by for lunch around 1:45, and it wasn't too busy. I got the meal deal with #7 Vegetarian Sandwich and a Strawberry Lychee drink. I asked the person at the front to confirm that there aren't any non-vegan ingredients in the sandwich. The menu shows tofu, cilantro, vinegar carrot, vinegar radish, cucumber, jalapeños, and soy bean sauce, so it doesn't seem non-vegan, but I wanted to be sure. She seemed confused about what vegan means, so I explained that we don't consume dairy, eggs, or any other animal products, and she confirmed it would be fine. So, I ordered it without cilantro. The sandwich was pretty big for a size small. The bread was crusty and it had a lot of tofu and carrots. The tofu was very wet, like there was a puddle of liquid that dripped from the sandwich. I wish it had been more veggie-focused, like I was craving more cucumber, radish, and maybe even mushrooms. The drink was good, it had two pieces of lychee fruit, which I loved. I ordered 25% sweetness, but it was sweeter than expected. I would order it again but ask for 0% sweetness if possible. Although the interior is very cute and I liked the vibe, I've had better vegan banh mi's, so I don't think I would go out of my way to eat here again.

Airy bread with a good balance of meat and pickled veggies. There is limited seating inside for dining in.

Pretty good pastries and pate chaud. The vietnamese coffee is very strong. The interior is really cute and modern, definitely a nice place to meet up with friends or just work.

Large grilled pork banh mi cut in half

It's great to have a banh mi option in Mountain View, even if it's pricier than the SJ/Sunnyvale counterparts. The grilled pork banh mi was decent, but the meat was a little dry and lacked a smoky char. Small was enough to satisfy me, but I opted to get a large the second time I went. The coffee is strong, though the egg foam was much thicker than I've had elsewhere, which wasn't quite to my taste. Grab the combo (large banh mi and drink of your choice) to save a few bucks! 3.5 stars, but rounded to 4.

Cute decor

Im supper glad that finally a legit banh mi spot is open in the area. Ambiance is nice and clean with lots of tables, cute decor. Staff is friendly and welcoming. The banh mi and all drinks are so bombbbb. The combo deal is such a steal because banh mi are loaded and drinks are even better than some branded boba shops. PSA: the #8 is "SEASONING" pork belly aka the reddish saigon jambon in the banh mi, not "ROASTED" or heo quay. Keep that in mind when you order. It was still very good but i couldnt finish the whole banh mi with just that jambon. It's better paired with head cheese and chả. Highly recommend the #6. Menu also carries lots of viet small bites: cha gio, pate chaud etc Will def come back for more and recommend to friends and family !

3.5 stars maybe 4 - Bread was very soft! I had the veggie sandwich and it was pretty good the vegan meat was really unique in texture in a good way but I think the soy sauce was wayyy too sweet for my taste I also got an egg coffee which was really strong and a bit more bitter than I expected - again not really my taste. Overall food was good and filling but maybe a little not my palette. Inside was very cute !

Grilled Pork

I had a bahn mi craving and decided to look for a nearby spot that I could also do some work at. I ordered the grilled pork bahn mi with extra veggies. The bread had a nice crunch on the outside and the filling had a nice balance of savory pork and the fresh veggies. The staff were friendly and this spot has free WiFi which was great for me to get some work done as well. There's seating so definitely a place to hang out for a bit.

We ordered a large and a small sandwich but realized we actually got two smalls, with toppings that were incorrect. For example, on the small sandwich, I asked for no cilantro and no jalapeños but got both. The chicken is slightly dry but it is a good price so I'd probably go back since it's affordable.

This is a new Banh Mi spot in Mountain View. In general, spots such as these do not survive or do well. It might be due to their pricing being a bit high compared to what you can get in San Jose. However, we're in Mountain View and I am hoping they do well. Their #8 sandwich was both filling and good tasting. Mind you, I did order the large version. I would say the carrots, etc. need a bit more of a vinegar/pickling taste. I was initially going to order their #1 Grilled Pork sandwich but I wanted pate in it. I could not tell from their menu if they allowed add-ons and I did not ask the cashier. The next time I am here, I will try one of their boba drinks.

So happy that they finally opened! Saw this relatively new place on our way to groceries and decided to give it a try! They specialized in Vietnames coffees, banh mihs and pate chauds. They had lots of sweet coffee options but we decided to only focus on food today. We got their large special banh mih and a pate chaud. Even though we got it to go, we decided to sit down as they had a small area for eating in. The pate chaud was nicely packed and was warm when they brought it out. It wasn't greasy and tasted fresh and appetizing. Their banh mih was our favourite - it came out warm and the bread tasted fresh. The butter they used, along with the hams and meats, were a great pairing. My boyfriend even said it was the first banh mih he actually liked in the Bay Area! Do note that the banh mih does contain jalapeno and it was preeeeetty spicy.

This place is so cute and cozy! Order thru kiosk. Was quickly greeted. It says if you pay in cash then order at the register. Small chicken was 8.75, with extra veggies. Bread was perfection!! Crunchy on the outside and pillowy soft inside. It came with shredded chicken. Flavor was good. They has some made spring tolls on the counter to purchase as well. Option of small and large size bread. Small was plenty and filling. Plenty of parking. Shared parking in a shopping plaza. Came right before lunch and nothing was on display. No wait. Food comes out made to order with fresh ingredients Cant wait to come back to try other banh mi and drinks.

Good value... I like the #1 sandwich add pate and the #3. The bread is fresh. The smoothies are ok, one time it was not blended enough.

I love their Banh mi. It's more expensive than Cam Hung. I really just wish their sandwich sauce was not so sugary.

Okay but... a hotel coffee shop with good matcha? That's the plot twist I didn't know I needed…read more We stopped here on my way out of Santa Clara heading to San Francisco -- it's conveniently close to a bunch of other spots, and since it's tucked inside a hotel, parking was ridiculously easy. (Underrated luxury.) Now, the hotel itself? Visually... a moment. It looked like someone invested serious money into it, but the design felt a little space-meets-startup-meets-what's-happening-here. Some elements felt elevated, others felt a bit makeshift. I genuinely couldn't tell what the theme was -- futuristic? celestial? boutique-on-a-budget? I'm still processing. The front desk team was clearly well-trained and knowledgeable -- they had every answer, every stat, every rate breakdown ready. But the warmth? Missing. I was hoping for a little storytelling since I'd never heard of the hotel before, and instead got a very matter-of-fact "we've been here five years" energy. Efficient, yes. Inviting, not quite. But let's talk about why you're really here: the coffee shop. Completely different vibe. Two people working, both genuinely happy, welcoming, and quick. We ordered a latte and a matcha to go -- total was about $22, which made me blink for a second -- but then I tasted the matcha. Oh. This wasn't the overly sweet, dusty-green situation you sometimes get. It tasted clean. Real. High-quality. The kind of matcha that feels intentional. I love Firehouse in Marin, but this? This was closer to serious coffee roaster-level quality. Smooth, organic-tasting, beautifully balanced. You could tell they care about what they're serving. Branding was strong, the space was cute, and I could absolutely see myself sitting there with my laptop pretending I'm writing something important. We grabbed ours to go, but it had that easy, airy, "stay awhile" energy. Would I book the hotel? Jury's still out. They don't have an in-house spa and mentioned bringing in third-party services for certain amenities, which made it feel a little less full-service than I expected. Would I go back for the coffee shop? Without hesitation. Delicious drinks, easy parking, quick service, and a vibe that actually makes you want to come back. Sometimes the side character steals the show -- and in this case, it's 100% the matcha.

Because, once again, I was distracted by the quality of the food, and there would be no way for me to do anything else, but to eat! Today, I was in the mood for something more than a salad (much as I wanted to preset what I had the first time coming here, I made a concerted effort to order something else...), thus I chose the Forager Flatbread. It took less time to make this time (roughly about five minutes after ordering), and when it came out, I marveled at how it looked like a work of art! Just beautiful! Each piece of herbed formage blanc flatbread had a nice, crunchy bottom (but not blackened) and a slightly tanginess, with a a good amount of "hen-of-the-wood" mushrooms, sweet roasted garlic and a bed of arugula. My, oh, my! My first bite was a multi-level extravaganza! The crunch of the bread, followed by the aroma of the herbs and arugula, then the saltiness of the cheese, the sweetness of the roasted garlic, the earthiness of the mushrooms - all came together as just a wonderful work of culinary art! This being my first time eating today, my saliva glands just fired off at first bite, causing a bit of intense pain from too much saliva shooting out. But, seriously, this was a very delicious entree, that I enjoyed from start to finish! Bravo for this second joyous experience!
