Shrimp Spring Rolls, House Tofu Spring Rolls
    Rui Y.

This spot is a quintessential hole-in-the-wall frequented mostly by people who seem like regulars. There is nearly no seating inside, and the remainder of the cramped space is occupied by fridges and shelves. The store has a very homely but familiar atmsophere, which I feel could be divisive but I personally like. Aside from the ordering counter, the entire store is stuffed with a variety of snacks, drinks, and toys. Some of the snacks are familiarly American, but many are Vietnamese snacks/drinks more uncommon here, including fermented meats, honey comb cake, and more. The menu on the wall has a lot of photos, but it also doesn't cover everything you can order here. According to their menu, they primarily serve bahn mis and other sandwiches, but you can order spring rolls. I love their spring rolls, and it's all I really order here. I wouldn't recommend eating in, as it is really cramped, but it's a great spot for quickly picking up some good food to take on the go. They make the food quickly and it tastes really good, so I like to drop by after work to take some food to-go.

One of my favorite spot for bahn mi. I would compare this place to a kind of Vietnamese deli. There's all kinds of Vietnamese sweets and pantry staples around the exterior of the store, along with some in-house fresh stuff like soy milk. But the real star of the show here is the bahn mi. I went with the 4A, grilled pork, but the beef might be even better, which is rare for me. The bread has a pleasant saltiness. Nothing in your face but it brings out the flavor more than in some of the other bahn mi I've had. The crush is crisp but won't shatter the roof of your mouth and the inside is soft. I don't know if they're made in-house but they do taste fresh. The fillings are all great. The meats are well seasoned, tender, and cut into bite-size pieces that combine well with the other ingredients so you can get a little bit of everything in every bite. As you can see in the photo, there's a great meat to veggies ratio. The pickled vegetables provide brightness and sweetness, while the cilantro and the jalapeño add dimension and freshness. The pate and mayo provide moisture and richness. It's a really well-balanced sandwich. A couple things to note about logistics. They have a card minimum but it's $8, which is also the price of a bahn mi so you should be fine. There's seating in the middle of the store but only two tables, so I wouldn't count on eating here. It's great for a quick lunch since food is out fast. I recommend taking your bahn mi to a local park so you can enjoy it while it's hot. Side note: I haven't had them, but their spring rolls look great and seem to be popular. I definitely recommend giving them a try.

This is not a large Bánh Mi shop, but their food is delicious. We ordered pork pate chaud, banh mi dac biet (house special sandwich - 1b) and a double spam masubi. All were delicious! The pate chaud is a little smaller than other locations, but it's good quality and flaky, not too oily. The banh mi dac biet had a soft, yet crispy roll, plenty of cold cuts, and a nice amount of pate spread. The veggies were a little on the lower quantity, but it was fresh. The double spam masubi was warm and delicious, absolutely worth the extra up charge for two slices of spam. The gentleman taking our order was friendly and helpful for new customers. He spoke English and Vietnamese, which is a plus for those wanting to work on their Vietnamese food ordering skills. The restaurant had plenty of free parking, and a few small tables if you decide to eat onsite. Recommend order to go because it's cramped inside. The smell of fresh food to-go definitely helped me order more food than I was intending to - great ambience. Highly recommend if you need a quality banh mi without long waits.

Loved the banh mis here - the crusty baguette is standout, as well as the smoky bbq pork. I tried the grilled chicken, grilled pork, and grilled beef as well as the bbq pork - they were all juicy and flavorful but the smokiness of the bbq pork was intensely memorable. They give a generous portion of freshly pickled vegetables - the cucumber and onion were a nice touch in addition to the usual radish and carrots. And plenty of fresh cilantro! The location is small and hidden behind a Cross Fit gym. Kind, hardworking staff and family-business homey feel. Not much space for dine-in but I loved checking out all their snack bar offerings like fresh pandan soy milk and spring rolls. Gotta pick those up next time!

As christine said, "this is what i want when i want food". I would be sooooo happy if a place like this opened in ny. It is delicious and lovely. Btw i dont think u need the veggie pate but it was fun to try.

First time we had catering with them. Food arrived on time, which is good. I had the shredded beef but personally I'm not a fan of banh mi because I don't like the cilantro or the pickled radishes; I always pick them out. After that, it's just a bun with some proteins inside. The bun is not bad but lacking some freshness, the meat is ok but again not a lot of freshly cooking heat in it. I also tried the fried tofu one, same vibe. The cup of fruit had watermelon and melons, green grapes and a cherry; watermelons are not for the season, so not like super fresh either. The fried spring roll was cold so not very inspiring. Overall an OK lunch but nothing to crave back again. I heard people actually prefer the meat ball banh mi or the grilled chicken which are more flavorful.

I've been to Cam Hung a few times now and they've been really good for the value (most are less than $10/bahn mi). The baguettes are fresh and just flaky enough. They are generous with the ingredients but it can get dry when there's not enough of the pate or mayo in the bahn mi. Their eggrolls are also really good and crispy. Service has always been friendly and my order is always ready within just a few minutes. I want to try their other snacks and drinks next time!

Was in Sunnyvale for a convention and went hunting for a little hole in the wall spot... Cam Hung on Reed nailed it. Grabbed a couple banh mi to go. Bread was fresh with a nice light crunch, veggies still crisp, meat tender and tasty. Simple, real Vietnamese sandwich flavor... very yummy and still priced fair for the Bay. The shop is my kind of organized chaos. Tiny place, line of people, every inch packed with stuff. Coolers full of basil seed drinks, tamarind tea, Vietnamese coffee... stacks of green and purple jelly desserts, rice cakes, spring rolls, marinated meats to take home. Counter is covered with snacks, candies, steamed buns, random goodies. Staff was friendly and smiling. Little bit of a language barrier but nothing pointing and nodding could not fix. Place is crowded and parking is tight, and there is a small card minimum, but everything I could see looked clean and well kept, which honestly impressed me with how much they squeeze into that space. Bottom line... this is exactly the kind of mom and pop shop I look for when I travel. If you want a legit Vietnamese sandwich instead of another chain lunch, Cam Hung is worth the stop.

I was in Sunnyvale and got a craving for nem chua. I could've drove to SJ but decided to do a quick google search to see if any places had some nearby. Cam hung is the place to go. They have fermented pork or beef nem chua. Super delicious. They also have a lot of different snacks, desserts and drinks. I definitely need to go back to try their Banh mi's!

Had the 4A pork was good look at the bread.

4.5 this is a little gem in the heart of Silicon Valley without the tech bro prices. All bahn mi are $8 the French roll it's on is so warm and toasty. The egg rolls are $1.25 each, go get some techies.

A real gem This place has bomb Banh Mi. Don't be taken aback by its exterior. This unassuming shop is fantastic. Everything from the curt cashier, lack of seating, and dilapidated exterior indicates that the food be good. Where else are you going to fill up for $8? The bread crusty, veggies fresh, and meat is plentiful. They are heavy handed with the mayo, but it did make the sandwich extra good. We tried the combo and the bbq pork. They even threw in a free sesame ball.

This place used to much better but the quality seems to have gone down over time. The bread doesn't seem as well toasted and there's less meat portions in the banh mis. There's other selections of spring rolls and egg rolls that are decent. They make the banh mis pretty quickly. No where to eat in there so it's more of a to go place. Overall, there aren't too many banh mi places in the area so it's our go to if we want it and are in this area.

Between the steamed tofu or fried tofu sandwich, which one is better? I've had one where the tofu was kind of crumbly and didn't like it that much, but not sure if it was the steamed or fried one. Thanks

While I thought the protein could have used a touch more seasoning, it didn't take away from the overall quality or experience. This is the flavor profile I still expect from a cold cut sandwich.
