Solid local pho spot that offers the option to customize/build your own pho bowl! Broth is really good and they also have a choice between fresh or thin noodles. Portion size is also great but the one thing they could fix is the quality of their meat. Most of the beef options are super fatty and I finally tried the beef rib this time around but it was COLD. It seems like they cook it ahead of time and just throw it in the soup to serve when ordered, which is simply not enough time for a thick rib to warm up. Came here after watching a movie at the AMC Theaters across the plaza. I really like the interior presentation. It's clean and well lit, although it's a fairly small unit. Service was quick, got seated immediately had their water includes a slice of lemon for freshness which I appreciate over plain tap water. I got their Combo #2 pho since I wanted to try out their oxtail. It was decent. Very flavorful and I don't if their jalapeños are fresh cut but after placing a few cuts in the broth, I could feel the spiciness kick in. I came in takeout at lunchtime and my order was ready in about 10 minutes. My pho combo #2 was $21 but came with so much meat and noodles. I love that they have fresh noodles as an option. The steak was very fresh, oxtail was so tender and they cut it in smaller pieces so it's easier to eat. They offer the usual veggies -fresh bean sprouts, jalapeno, lemon, basil, and white onion slices. The broth had a good depth and flavor without being overly salty. I also tried their jasmine milk tea which comes with brown sugar boba. Very good tea flavor without being overly sweet. I'd get this again. The restaurant has plenty of indoor seating with nice decor and the bathroom was pristine. There's plenty of parking on the street or garage across the street. We decided to give PhoEver a try after my wife and I were craving Vietnamese food during our trip to NorCal. We ordered the half egg rolls and the Combo #1 pho (filet mignon, short ribs, and brisket), along with spring rolls. We shared everything between my wife and 5-year-old son and finished it all. For lighter appetites, this was definitely the way to go. Overall, the pho's short ribs were very tender, the egg rolls were crispy, and the peanut sauce with the spring rolls was tasty. However, the pho broth was a bit lukewarm and colder than expected. Service and ambiance were solid, but nothing particularly memorable. The pho, spring rolls, and egg rolls were all good, but I've personally had better at other places in the LA/SGV area, which sets a very high bar and is the main reason for the 4 stars. read more

I came here at night, and there was plenty of seating. The restaurant isn't too big, but it's clean and cozy. I ordered Pho with tai (rare steak), gau (brisket), and short rib with regular noodles. If you want to try the fresh noodles, there's an extra charge. The broth was flavorful and piping hot. One downside is that it was a bit too oily, even though I didn't order the fatty broth. The steak was tender and decent, and the short rib was also tender, though not a big piece. The side of basil wasn't very fresh, and I wish they gave a larger plate of vegetables. You order by ticking boxes on the paper sheet they leave on the table. Utensils and napkins were already set when I arrived. There's one thing I'm wondering about, the service fee they charged me, even though I was dining alone. It wasn't a big amount, but I think customers should be informed about it. Came here for lunch on a Saturday late afternoon. I was worried they would be busy because of the farmer's market, but surprisingly it was not that busy. I like their custom menu of pho bowls. I had just their brisket, and my mom custom-ordered brisket and beef ribs. It was a lot of meat. Super considerate with the meat. The broth was also pretty good and I think it said, it was a 16-hour broth. The meats were very very tender. It melts in your mouth, which makes it very easy to chew. That's what my mom and I really love about. We also ordered Pork and Shrimp fried egg rolls. Couldn't really make out the shrimp tho... And it was very deeply fried. Not sure if they re-fried it. The food was honestly so good. We loved the pho which you can customize with what kind of meat you want. I chose to add in extra beef meat which was I believe an additional $3. But I will say their fresh pho noodles definitely hit the spot. It's a must try. Even their appetizers were very tasty! we opted to just get the half which amounts to 2 pcs per order. I also picked up the Morning in Vietnam coffee which was just a regular viet iced coffee, it tasted good and sweet, definitely a great pick me up. I think the only reason I get 4 starts v 5 stars was ability to park. I can see how that could be a problem with limited parking around. Not their fault but I can see it as a flaw. I was picking up my girlfriend late from work and we decided we wanted to eat some place nearby, so we decided to try PhoEver. It's in Downtown Sunnyvale so parking was a little complicated. We ended parking the garage behind the restaurant, but I don't actually know if that was okay so I thought that was worth mentioning. It's a pretty fancy spot for a pho place, and the prices were also fancy. The menu was simplistic and had your typical fair. I had a combo #1 with nem spring rolls. The thin meat in the spring rolls were pretty good. The pho was also fine and had a bit short rib. It was kinda hard to eat though, and not as easy as I've had with other places. I also ordered this pink drink that had a nice milky strawberry flavor to it. While I think the food was fine I did thing it's a little pricey for my tastes. You can go to a place like Pho San Jose and get a better quality bowl for cheaper. Service left much to be desired too. They only gave us one napkin, my girlfriend's bowl was missing a kind of meat, and they didn't give us beansprouts and basil until I asked about it. There was also this guy seated next to us who didn't seem to be served at all and was starting to sound impatient. The waitress never even asked anything or poured anyway. But after I paid, I saw he was drinking a Thai tea so I guess he was just waiting for someone. All in all this place is solid but there are much better more affordable places to have pho at. read more

Located in Sunnyvale downtown, this unassuming place offers one of the best pho in the area. You can either customize your pho (cheaper) or go with their selection of special pho (expensive). The broth was really rich and flavorful. I picked the custom pho option and added beef brisket and steak to the pho. The meat was tender but slightly less juicy than my liking (still really good). I hate to update to a 1/5 star but after our visit last night - we felt very offput. Essentially, they don't seem practiced in handling busier crowds and prioritizing seating, serving, and bringing food out, which made it insanely chaotic and incentivized whichever table complained most recently and loudest. I'm sure service is fine when they're not busy but when they are - it's chaos and unprofessional. We came as party of two at 6:15pm on a Sunday night and the place was full. We stood at the entrance and eventually one of the two (very, very busy) servers came to let us know it was about a 20 min wait. Which wasn't a problem but there was no sign up sheet or waitlist and many other parties started trickling in with the same issue and no clear ordering of who was next. 1. Random people came in after us to ask for a seat and were seated first. 2. We finally got seated and had no menus or water for 10min 3. No one came to take our order for another 10-15min. 4. We finally flagged someone down to take our order AND THEN saw five (yes, we counted) FIVE other tables who sat down after us get their food first - likely because they sat in a more visible area and was able to flag down a server. We usually don't like to bother servers when they're clearly stressed and busy but it was a true test of patience as we reluctantly flagged down a server to ask about our food after one of the tables who sat down after us HAD FINISHED EATING AND LEFT! Our food came shortly after but was very average, overcooked and cold (and for pho, that's a crime!). The shaken beef was a few tiny slices of beef with a pile of poorly seasoned garlic noodles and a "salad" (old ice iceberg lettuce, a slice of tomato, and some cilantro?) for almost $20!! Again, we only saw two servers and both were crazy overworked so we don't blame them but the restaurant itself needs to learn to better handle busy hours and prioritize serving folks already seated instead of clearing tables to seat folks and then ignoring them. Made us feel pretty bad since we're not ones to complain in the face of overworked servers. read more

A text message is sent to you to confirm your order with estimated time for pick up and when the order is ready for pick up. Easy and smooth pick up for take out. There is street parking and parking structure to park. The restaurant has big windows with good natural light. Service is friendly. You'll need to see one of the servers to confirm your pick up. We ordered the shaken tofu with garlic noodles that came with a small side salad. The dressing was lightly sweet. The shaken tofu was very tasty with good flavor. I just wish there were more tofu than onions In the dish. The spicy tofu pho definitely has a kick of spice but the veggies and lemon helped cool the heat. The pricing scam: The prices listed on their menu reflect a "3.5% discount for paying with cash" BUT there's no way to know until you're already at the register to pay. This small sign at the register (see picture) reveals their bait-and-switch tactic. If you don't have cash, you have to pay base prices higher than you bargained for. This place feels like a hidden gem. It's located in the downtown sunnyvale area. PARKING - I've actually never had issues finding parking and one time I found one right next to it. Just circle around and you should find something and there are also parking garages nearby. ATMOSPHERE - it's bright and inviting inside, there are longer tables for larger groups and smaller tables with booths too. It was good for my husband and I and our two kids. FOOD - they have a "build your own bowl" where you mark it down with a pencil and it makes ordering quick and easy. PHO GA / CHICKEN PHO - I always get pho ga because I'm not a huge fan of the beef pho flavor. Their pho ga is one of the better ones in the south bay that I've had because it had a good rich flavor, multi dimensional and not overly salty. They also give you a lot of soup. I order the fresh noodles for extra but they are a little thicker. They are soft and fresh, I like them better than the thinner noodles. Another good thing is their chicken is super tender and not dry at all. The first time I went it was white meat but very moist/tender. This time it was dark meat with some fat so also very good. Sometimes pho ga chicken is dry and stringy but not this place. I get extra noodles and that helps me to feed my toddler who probably ate 4 small bowlfuls. BEEF PHO (FATTY BROTH) - my husband said this is good pho, he said it tasted like good pho should taste so I would recommend getting the fatty version. No complaints from him so that's a win. They were very attentive to our requests. The pho wasn't super quick to come out but came out within 10 minutes. Overall, would definitely recommend their pho here. read more

The sushi is for another review, but we went back to PhoEver for lunch on Monday. As always, the service was attentive, efficient, and polite. We've become creatures of habit and get the same thing... all three of us love the chicken pho. The boys like adding the different toppings and sauces to personalize their dishes... Max goes so hot that he sweats! For drinks, I go with the Thai Tea (5/5) and the boys say this is their favorite lemonade ever (10/5), they particularly like the sourness.
