Nice Korean joint that's been around for years. I ordered for my family via doordash today and was very impressed. Good food that's easy on the wallet. We ordered the Mandu, Classic Bibimbap Bowl, and Chicken Japchae. All the dishes were fresh, and tasty. The Japchae in particular was very impressive. We are big fans of Korean Glass Noodles and we've had it at some of the top rated Korean restaurants in the Bay Area. But TBH the one we had today from Bibimbowl impressed us more than most we've had in the Bay Area over the years. I'll definitely order again!

Was in the mood for Korean food while on a trip to Mountain View, so I thought I'd check this place out after seeing the good reviews. There is a decent amount of parking as it's placed alongside a couple of other restaurants, but was unfortunately crowded and took a long while to get as a result. We decided to try ordering through a QR code they had on their window that led to their website, but the website was exceptionally wonky for us and for some reason refused to accept the cards we were trying to use to pay. Once we figured it out the wait time took around 40 minutes. The good news about all of this is that the food was very good. The Classic Bowl and the Japchae were both very tasty, and gave me a nice feeling of homeliness that took the form of the better meals that my family used to cool. Would I come back? In all honesty, I'm not sure. The wait time made my bad mood even more unpleasant, but I am interested in some of the other dishes on their menu. Only time can tell, and if that day ever comes, I hope the ordering and waiting goes a lot smoother than it did now.

Our family loves Bibimbowl and wish they were open on weekends! The kids never leave their bowls unfinished. We typically order the hot stone bowl when we're there. Veggies, Tofu, and Teriyaki Sauce with eggs added. Highly recommend!!! As I type this, yum, feels like I gotta make another run! Taking away a star as there have been times when service and care was missing.

was unsure what to have for lunch and decided to try this place and was glad we did. The place is not hard to find and has plenty of parking in this plaza so it wasn't difficult to find a space. It is located in an area with other places to dine but we elected for bibimbowl as their menu looks appetizing. It is clean and the staff are friendly. We ordered tofu beef soup which included rice, japchae glass noodles, cucumber and kimchi. We didn't wait long for our meal to be served and once ready it was hot and fresh, it also tasted so good! Enjoyed our meal and will definitely return again.

We had dinner here a few days ago because we checked it out on Yelp. It seemed to have a lot of good reviews and we wanted to try out some Korean food. The prices seemed pretty reasonable too. We got there and it was more like a take out kind of place. They did have some indoor seating so it was kind of like a casual dining kind of place. You order at the counter and then find a seat. They bring the food to you. All of the utensils, water, and napkins are on a side shelf so you just serve yourself. The food came out pretty quick. You could order the bibimbap in a regular plastic bowl or in a stone pot. I ordered it in the stone pot for a more authentic kind of experience. Mine came out last but it was okay. My daughter and husband got the tofu soup. My daughter got the combination with the seafood and the beef and my husband got the beef. My daughter got it plain with no spice and my husband got it spicy. My bibimbap was pretty good but it was really hard to eat. There were only plastic utensils so it was hard to scrape the rice off the bottom of the stone pot. It felt like my plastic fork was gonna break. My egg was overcooked so it didn't really spill over when I cut through it for the bibimbap. My daughter's tofu soup was different. We are used to eating tofu soup back home and this one had different kind of ingredients in it. It was a little unusual with the zucchini and carrots. She loved the seafood part of it and ate up all the clams. The broth was a little different from what we are used to. My husband didn't like his tofu soup at all. He said the broth was very salty and he didn't like his dish. Overall, it was an interesting concept to bring bibimbap to casual dining. I enjoyed mine but hope that they would have metal spoons instead of plastic ones. It was good to try it out since we don't have anything like this kind of place where we live.

I like coming here on my lunch break whenever I'm craving a tofu and rice plate. Their tofu dish is perfect for vegans or vegetarians, and the customer service is always great. The food tastes consistently delicious, and I love pairing it with their miso soup. The portions are generous and definitely filling, making it a tasty and affordable option.

Came here on a Thursday night and it was empty so there was a lot of space to sit! Good: - Decently fast service - food came after 10-15 minutes - Loved the bowls and got a hot stone with beef which was so tasty with the fried egg and gochujang - Food came out fresh and tasted like it Bad: - Pretty casual no frills place and service is pretty much self serve Overall a solid place for clean Korean food and decent prices too.

Fresh bowl w/spicy pork, hard boiled egg, Kim chi and original sauce
    Shanna K.

I've only ordered takeout from here so far and it was pretty good! I chose the "Fresh bowl" with half rice and half salad, plus spicy pork, a hard boiled egg, kimchi, cucumber salad and original sauce (gochujang). I like that you can customize to your liking and everything was fresh, tasty, fast, and well balanced. Great for a work lunch or a quick dinner!

Hot Stone, Chicken and Shrimp, Brown Rice

Went here for lunch. Got the Hot Stone - Chicken and Shrimp with Brown rice. As the name suggests, the bowl was super hot (almost sizzling) which enhanced the taste of the food. The chicken and shrimp were very tasty and the food was hot till the last bite. Loved the crispy brown rice that got stuck to the stone :D For obvious reasons the hot stone is available when you dine is, so would recommend eating here to get a better experience.

    bibimbap with beef

my work orders from bibimbowl occasionally and this time i opted for the bibimbap (not stone pot). it is a reasonable price given how expensive korean food tends to be nowadays. the bowl comes with a lot of vegetables, marinated egg, and i added beef. the dish was flavorful with the sauce and overall it was a pretty healthy meal. the portion is not super big, so if you have a big appetite you may not be full with this meal. i like the option to add more protein. next time, i would like to try the dolsot hot stone bibimbap, though i imagine it's better in the restaurant vs. ordering online as my meal was not very warm.

Lots of takeout/delivery business, but you can order in person

I first found this place on door dash years ago. They handled the group order well. This time, we came in for a sit down lunch. We ordered at the front. They were kind, although slightly distracted with the prep for all the online orders they were preparing. Eventually we got our order in and sat down. // Tofu soup. The flavor of the soup was fine. The tofu chunks were huge, and in themselves had no flavor. I guess i would have preferred more flavor in the tofu itself, or at least cut into smaller chunks to spread the flavor out. // Hot stone bibimbop. The ingredients were fine, but the stone pot wasn't that hot. There was barely any crispy rice sticking on the outside. The veggies were crisp, and the beef provided a tasty source of iron. We tried the standard bibimbop sauce, and it has just the right amount of spiciness. // Chapchae. Good, with beef. Lots of veggies, and everything was nicely presented. It was in a togo box, and we took the leftovers home.

    Galbi Classic Bowl (Bibimbap)
    Quoc H.

Takeout order: 6.5/10 Classic Bowl with Galbi $18 - the galbi meat was juicy and slightly on the chewy side with great flavor. everything else was pretty average about their bibimbap bowl in taste (bean sprouts, zucchini, radish, kimchi, egg). Portion size really small for all of the above (meat, veggies, rice). I wouldn't say it is worth the price.

    Any gluten free meals?

Most of their foods are gluten-free. The mantu (dumplings) are not.

Is the kimchi made with fish or fish sauce? Is the broth for the tofu soup have dried fish in its red broth?

I hope so because it makes it more nutritious and tasty but if you are vegan, yes their website says kimchi has fish sauce. You should pick up some vegan pickles at your local Korean market to substitute out if you cannot eat it

Does their kimchi have fish sauce in it?

    AFAIK yes

Deep red chili oil on top, beef broth underneath that tastes like it actually simmered for hours, tender braised beef, bok choy, scallions, and cilantro finishing it off. Heat builds slowly and stays there, not the cheap instant burn you get at lesser spots. The clear broth version is clean and comforting, more for the purist crowd, but the spicy has way more depth. Noodles are the real deal. Hand pulled in house, chewy with that perfect pull when you bite in, holds up in the broth without going soggy halfway through. You can order different thicknesses, which is the move. The cucumber salad appetizer is a must. Whole cucumber fanned out like a dragon coil, dressed simply with garlic, vinegar, and chili. Crisp, cold, cuts through the spice of the soup perfectly. Get one per person, trust me. Service is fast, prices are fair for what you get, and the bowls come out hot and massive. One of the most legit Lanzhou spots I've had in the Bay. Already planning the next visit.

The male server did not write anything down while taking our order and barely responded when I spoke. He gave no acknowledgment whatsoever, so I honestly could not tell whether he even heard me. It felt like the staff simply wanted us to leave as quickly as possible because the restaurant closes at 8 PM. We even rushed through our meal and made sure to leave before 8 PM out of consideration for the staff, yet we were still treated like an inconvenience the entire time. What shocked me the most was the hygiene issue. The black-haired female server at the counter near the entrance dropped a small stainless steel basket used for checks onto the floor, stepped on it with her shoe, then picked it up with her hands and placed it back without cleaning or sanitizing it. After that, she never washed or sanitized her hands, yet continued touching napkins, utensils, and setting tables. That is completely unacceptable, especially in a restaurant. To make things worse, my husband ordered a soju cocktail, and the male server placed the alcoholic drink directly in front of me even though I am visibly 9 months pregnant with a very large baby bump. He said nothing and walked away. Not once did the staff say "enjoy your meal" when serving our food. They never checked on our table even once afterward, and we never received any water or napkin refills. The only time the male server came back was after cleaning the restroom to tell us the kitchen was closing. If customers arriving after 7 PM are such an inconvenience, then please put a sign on the door telling people not to come in after that time. And most importantly, please teach your staff proper hygiene and basic customer service. This was one of the most unwelcoming and unsanitary dining experiences I have ever had.
