Bibimbowl is a humble, casual, and cozy restaurant which features bibimbap, dol sot bibimbap, tofu stew, or boxes. The parking is decent in this small strip mall. Order via kiosk and/or cashier, pay, and place number stand on the table and they will bring your order when ready. Complimentary ice water available. The majority is inside seating but a few tables outside to enjoy the weather. Only one unisex restroom. I went with the Box (Do-Si-Rack): Your choice of main dish and rice or salad served with mandoo (two chicken pot stickers), japchae noodle (stir-fried vermicelli with vegetables), two side dishes (pickled kimchi and pickled cucumber). Grabbed lunch here on a weekday afternoon, place was already slammed with the Apple and LinkedIn crowd from down the street. Took about 15 minutes from ordering to actually getting the food. Got the classic bowl, the bibimbap, with white rice, tofu, spinach, carrots, zucchini, radish, original spicy sauce, and a fried egg. Veggies were fresh and mostly pickled, that's what gave it the healthy, refreshing feel. Rice and veggies don't have much flavor on their own, you need to mix in the sauce to get anything going, sauce had that gochujang thing going, sweet and a little spicy. Nice Korean joint that's been around for years. I ordered for my family via doordash today and was very impressed. Good food that's easy on the wallet. We ordered the Mandu, Classic Bibimbap Bowl, and Chicken Japchae. All the dishes were fresh, and tasty. The Japchae in particular was very impressive. Was in the mood for Korean food while on a trip to Mountain View, so I thought I'd check this place out after seeing the good reviews. There is a decent amount of parking as it's placed alongside a couple of other restaurants, but was unfortunately crowded and took a long while to get as a result. We decided to try ordering through a QR code they had on their window that led to their website, but the website was exceptionally wonky for us and for some reason refused to accept the cards we were trying to use to pay. Once we figured it out the wait time took around 40 minutes. The good news about all of this is that the food was very good. The Classic Bowl and the Japchae were both very tasty, and gave me a nice feeling of homeliness that took the form of the better meals that my family used to cool. Would I come back? In all honesty, I'm not sure. The wait time made my bad mood even more unpleasant, but I am interested in some of the other dishes on their menu. Only time can tell, and if that day ever comes, I hope the ordering and waiting goes a lot smoother than it did now. read more

We had dinner here a few days ago because we checked it out on Yelp. It seemed to have a lot of good reviews and we wanted to try out some Korean food. The prices seemed pretty reasonable too. We got there and it was more like a take out kind of place. They did have some indoor seating so it was kind of like a casual dining kind of place. You order at the counter and then find a seat. They bring the food to you. All of the utensils, water, and napkins are on a side shelf so you just serve yourself. The food came out pretty quick. You could order the bibimbap in a regular plastic bowl or in a stone pot. I ordered it in the stone pot for a more authentic kind of experience. Mine came out last but it was okay. My daughter and husband got the tofu soup. My daughter got the combination with the seafood and the beef and my husband got the beef. My daughter got it plain with no spice and my husband got it spicy. My bibimbap was pretty good but it was really hard to eat. There were only plastic utensils so it was hard to scrape the rice off the bottom of the stone pot. It felt like my plastic fork was gonna break. My egg was overcooked so it didn't really spill over when I cut through it for the bibimbap. My daughter's tofu soup was different. We are used to eating tofu soup back home and this one had different kind of ingredients in it. It was a little unusual with the zucchini and carrots. She loved the seafood part of it and ate up all the clams. The broth was a little different from what we are used to. My husband didn't like his tofu soup at all. He said the broth was very salty and he didn't like his dish. Overall, it was an interesting concept to bring bibimbap to casual dining. my work orders from bibimbowl occasionally and this time i opted for the bibimbap (not stone pot). it is a reasonable price given how expensive korean food tends to be nowadays. the bowl comes with a lot of vegetables, marinated egg, and i added beef. the dish was flavorful with the sauce and overall it was a pretty healthy meal. the portion is not super big, so if you have a big appetite you may not be full with this meal. i like the option to add more protein. next time, i would like to try the dolsot hot stone bibimbap, though i imagine it's better in the restaurant vs. ordering online as my meal was not very warm. read more

This was much longer than expected, as I was thinking most of the items are pre-cooked and just needed to reheat (at least for the set) and tofu stew definitely doesn't take that long either. Service was friendly though. Clean atmosphere for quick dinner and/or catching up with a friend with no one to kick you out. Explored further to try this place. I was intrigued as the prices were reasonable This place is more of a takeout joint. It's pretty much self serve style. I ordered the beef tofu soup and was surprised pay first. Gave $2 tip. Probably should not have but the price was under $20 before tip and final was $22. Again, I'm surprised cuz tofu soup at korean places I've tried is always around $26 after tax and tip So the reason why I should not have tip was cuz it's put ur own dishes and trash away kind of place. Like the mall. Pickup ur order and find a table and clean up after yourself afterwards... On to the food... the banchan sides were minimal but sufficient. Japchae, cucumbers, some bean curd slices underneath the japchae and chinese style kimchi. Yes, the kimchi here is more of a taiwanese style... called pao cai. It is pickled cabbage I get when I eat stinky tofu in Taiwan. The tofu soup was very good. So this is a nice find for slightly cheaper Korean food. Without tip it would be under $20 for tofu soup. Good deal.. saves me a drive to hancook supermarket a few more blocks down to El Camino. read more

Came in around 11:45am on a Thursday. Place was half-packed (and got more packed as we dined there), lots of seating indoors and a handful outdoors as well. Upon entering, you see the menu (with some spelling errors "dinning" heehee, makes it feel like a true mom-and-pop vibe), and you order and pay up front. Heads up, ordering tofu soup takes an additional 15-16 minutes, so if you're in a rush, probably should order a rice dish. I love that the rice entrees have a brown rice option. If I recall correctly, there's no additional charge for brown rice, which is fantastic. (My OBGYN would approve as he's banned me from white rice for the rest of this pregnancy, boo). You can order drinks up front and grab the bottled options from the fridge next to the register. They don't tell you up front, but they do have a complimentary carafe of iced water around the corner that you can help yourself to, so don't feel compelled to purchase a bottled water for $1.50 unless you really are against sharing hydration :) There's spoons, forks, knives, and napkins at the station as well. They also have 2 high chairs available in the back if you are dining with little ones. Food came within 5-6 minutes of ordering, and it was exciting to see a hot stone bowl sizzle before me. I'm a little bummed that the egg came runny despite me asking for it to be well done (preggo and all), so sadly I had to disseminate it against the hot stone to cook it. The bowl is hot enough to just crisp a tiny handful of rice grains, but doesn't seem to be as hot as you'd expect from some pricier Korean establishments. The food was pretty good though! The best I've had, but definitely hit the spot. All in all, decent place to grab a bite of Korean, but you'll want to go to a pricier spot if you want the real deal. The food was decent but the dine-in presentation of super hot tofu soup in a disposable plastic bowl and the banchan is in an airline-like plastic snack box was a big turn off.
