This was my first time trying Eaping. I have passed by it a couple times before but finally had the time to go in. It is comparable to Panda Express since that's what more people are familiar with. They do plates/bowls at a reasonable price. Everything is made fresh and placed in front so you can choose what you want. The serving for the plate with two entrees and two sides was much larger than expected. My boyfriend who eats a lot even got full before finishing. I tried their new dish, the beef noodle soup. It was good but not the best I've had. However, I do like that they offer extra dishes like this and it didn't take long at all.

TGTG review - Lucky Chinese Bistro Same restaurant, different name which confused me. Located in shopping complex with Marshall's/ Home Goods / Nob Hill. - easy pick up. Lunch plate To go. Chow mein, orange chicken and stir fry veggies. - lots of specials available

    4 item plate

This used to be Lucky Chinese Bistro, which we really enjoyed! Since the change to Eping Fresh Chinese, they have gone down hill. Service was just okay, felt like a school cafeteria. Nothing fancy. We purchased a Too Good To Go and received a 4 item plate. The plate consisted of sweet and sour pork, toufu and beef, a fish stir fry and "fried" rice. All of this food was bland, even the sweet and sour. The fish was mushy and definitely over cooked. The rice had no flavor at all. Even on Too Good this was not worth the price. We will not be back.

Lastly focusing on online orders while I and another customer sat there watching.

This place has gone down ever since they remodeled. No more are the days of free hot and sour soup with each order. The new decor makes it look like an organic salad place but it's still the Chinese food we're all accustomed to seeing. New changes were made such as restaurant now using paper based containers yet still use plastic cover. Now for the service. Flat out terrible. I was waiting in line for 20 min while the old woman working behind the counter was doing slow-time multitasking. It was comical standing there while she took phone orders (yes someone is still ordering over the phone. This is 2025- ever heard of online ordering?), bussing the tables, arranging the online orders, barking out orders to the kitchen using their famous mic while trying to take care of folks like me waiting in line. Usually there's always a pair of little old ladies working together but the one today was working solo. This was around 4:35 pm. One person got disgusted with the wait and left but I felt some pity on this lady and decided to wait it out. If you're going to hire older ladies, make sure they also work in pairs because one working by themselves is just way too slow. Not acceptable. Also no apologies from the lady for making us wait that long. You guys changed everything, the name, the decor, but the service is lacking.

Eaping is a new Chinese restaurant and takeout spot in Mountain View, CA. They have a really good deal of 50% off at for their grand opening on 12/14. The prices are nice and affordable. I tried the mix and match plate with 4 items, starting at just $12.50. If you have a busy lifestyle, Eaping is going to be a lifesaver. I will definitely be a regular here. Healthy, authentic Chinese food is served here. There are classic items like orange chicken, honey walnut prawns, and general tso's, and the team is introducing authentic Chinese flavors. For the health conscious, their items have less starch and sugar than competitors like Panda Express. I tried the Mix and Match plate - scallion prawns, general tso's chicken, chow mein, and Mongolian beef, and the Chi forest peach drink. Honest review is that the flavors are very balanced, not too salty or sweet. The portions were just right and filled me up.

This place used to be Lucky Chinese Bistro, but was recently sold. I had not eaten at LCB before so I cannot compare it to this new concept. However, the interior looks to have been remodeled since the sale. It is inviting, though I came here for take out. The $12.50 price for 4 items, before tax, is "a steal". One does not have to pick rice or noodles as one of the items. Everything I selected tasted good. Nothing outstanding mind you. However, you cannot beat that price for that great amount of food. Do note that some of the more premium items have price adders, similar to Panda. If you're a Too Good To Go patron, Eaping is still listed as Lucky Chinese Bistro.

Great weekday lunch spot in Mountain View! Right next to 99 Ranch. I thought it was an Americanized Chinese place, but it's actually healthy and authentic -- perfect for both Asian and non-Asian coworkers. 3 items $10.95 or 4 items $12.95 -- fresh, not salty like Panda Express. Walnut shrimp, broccoli beef, and green beans are all delicious! Also love their soup dumpling combo ($9.95 with hot & sour soup) -- juicy, flavorful, and surprisingly authentic. Highly recommend!

Used to be Lucky Chinese Bistro until last month when they changed ownership. They renovated the dining area and the steam table counter. Fresh new look with lighter color tables which made the place look brighter, bigger and spacious. They still have the Walnut Prawn Salad that I just love. It's one of my favorite salads. Very good portion. They didn't skimp on the shrimp and the ingredients. Lots of batter fried shrimp. Sweet vinaigrette dressing with hint of sesame oil. Assorted greens, cucumber, cherry tomatoes with sprinkles of fried noodles to add more crisps. Reasonably priced for the size. Large for about $17. They have really good chicken salad too. I will need to go back and try their hot food to see if any changes. The lady at the counter seemed nicer too. She's been with the resto for years.

We've had our eye on this place for the last few weeks and finally stopped in. It's cafeteria-style so you can pick and choose what you want. They had a decent assortment, including a "salad bar" section. I'd say the food is a slight step above Panda. All of the food we tried was good and convenient for a quick lunch stop. I do wish the food had labels on it since some of the items looked similar, especially the chicken dishes. I don't think I'd go out of my way to go back here but glad I tried it! 3.5/5 stars

3 combo plate! $10.95 before tax! Super fresh plus good portion sizes

3 item combo plate. love the vibe here! Came here on my lunch break. The staff was very kind and patient for my first time there. The food is super fresh and they dont skimp of portion sizes. I can tell they care about their business and customers. Will definitely be returning to try the soup dumplings :)

Stumbled on this place, and reminded me of Panda Express but healthier and fresh. Good prices and friendly worker. Lots of seating inside and food is good and flavorful. Give it a try!

Grand opening Saturday was out the door!

I called them and they picked up right away and were able to accommodate our large party of 15 for a later date. We opted for a private room (semi-private) fyi it's not fully enclosed. They told us the minimum food & beverage is $800 to rent that space. We pre-ordered 2 ducks before we got there and I recommend if you plan to get any of the specialty MP items such as cod, lobster or crab to also pre-ordered in case they run out. Here's what we ordered and yes we had so so much food leftover since trying to meet our minimum! Roast Peking Duck ($78) 4/5 They roll it out on a cart and slice it up in front of you. Comes with thin warm pancakes little plates of toppings (cucumbers, green onions, sugar). Duck skin was crispy and the meat was tender. After that they deep fried the bones in and toss in a chili sauce and made a duck clear soup broth as well. That was really refreshing broth to slurp up. Honey Walnut Shrimp ($24.95) 4/5 These were massive! HUGUMOUS shrimp nicely fried and tossed lightly in the sauce and came with perfectly candied walnuts. Fried Shrimps with corn in salted egg yolk ($32.95) 5/5 I really like food in salted egg yok. I think they use the same size shrimp like the honey walnut shrimp. Nicely coated in the salted egg you along with pieces of salted egg yolk corn. This was one of the best dishes I had. Cumin Lamb $22.95 (4/5) I don't usually eat much lamb but this was really tasty. It wasn't gamey at all and the meat was cooked tender and slight spicy. XLB $14.95 (4/5) These were huge too! It comes with 6 and yummy piping hot soup inside. Dry-Fried String Beans w/garlic $16.95 (4/5) Everyone enjoyed this. This was the only dish we ate all of. Orange Chicken $18.95 (4/5) Nice chunks of fried chicken tossed in the sweet and tangy orange sauce and fresh orange slices. Sweet and Sour short ribs $22.95 (3/5) This wasn't was I was expecting. It was the really tiny pork bones and tasted caramelized sugar not really sweet or sour? I think they put in the wrong order. Fried boneless chicken with explosive chili $18.95 (4/5) If you like fried spicy, really spicy chicken get this. Pumpkin fried with salted egg yolk $26.95 (5/5) The pumpkin pieces were sliced thin and covered in the salted egg yolk. This was really good. Braised sliced pork belly w/preserved vegetable served w/buns $28.95 (4/5) The pork belly was super tender in a delicious broth. This was tasty as we put them into the buns to eat. Steamed black cod $128 (MP) 4/5 I think this as about 2-3lbs. Steamed perfectly and the fish meat was tender and really tasty. Pinot wine $128 (4/5) They only have like 2 selections of wine it was either this one bottle of pinot or this one bottle of cab only. So if you are picky about wine, you should probably bring your own and pay corkage fees. 10 steamed rice $20 The service was really good although one dish they brought out the wrong one and took it off the bill. They cleaned up the table for us since we brought in a cake to celebrate. Overall, I'd come back there to eat. The food was delicious, a little pricy but hey its, in Palo Alto and the food portions were worth it.

Must check it out; looks dated, but still open so, food should be decent? C1 lunch plate consists of barbecue roast pork fried rice, chicken Chow mien and an egg roll with the sweet sour dipping sauce. All greasy but tasty. Stir fry beef with bitter melon in black bean sauce and white rice that my friend got was healthier and pretty good; she liked it. For dinner at China Wok, another pal and I enjoyed the almost scalding hot Westlake soup to start, and then dug into the house Chow mien, then fish fillet with snow peas. Noodles were great texture with excellent wok hay flava and contained shrimp, pork, chicken, onions and bean sprouts. I really enjoyed the delicate white fish sautéed in opaque sauce with snow peas, carrots and water chestnuts. I found everything very tasty. Service was brusque and adequate at lunch, slightly more welcoming at dinner. Oh and if you need to use the loo, don't expect much. There's a key you take outside.. yup, exit the building, and it's in the rear. Serviceable toilet and sink.. dim lighting makes everything appear dingy. Exactly like oldie gas stations and rest stops. Maybe this building was a fueling station for trucks before someone turned it into China Wok. Still, the Chinese American food here is legit; basic but tastes good. Value, amenities, atmosphere and service, though, could stand to improve. Upping a star just for being a place that has stuck around for some decades and is still standing.

We ordered: - Westlake Soup, $17.95 - Combo Chow Mein, $17.95 - Fish Filet w/ Snow Peas, $18.95 All the food was good and tasty. I thought the portion size for the Chow Mein was a bit small for the price. Service was abrupt and not super friendly. When it was time to pay, you have to step up to the cashier. Notes: - the mens room is outside, in the back of the building. It's not very tidy, and had graffiti on the walls.
