    Spicy beef noodle
    Emile T.

It was a tasty and large portioned bowl of spicy noodles. I was delighted with the freshness of my noodle bowl. I ordered the hand cut noodles, which were thick, chewy, and deliciously flavored. The service was excellent and the restaurant was neat. Highly recommended.

    Braised beef handcut noodles soup

New restaurant on the block. Good selections of noodle soups with excellent flavors. Broth is beautifully cooked. Handmade noodles are cooked to perfection. The right texture and chewiness. Portion is also very generous. Servers are friendly but not intrusive, the store is clean and not gaudy. *Braised Beef Noodles (Handcut noodle, mid-spicy)* Flavor is en pointe! One of the best we've tasted in South Bay. Beef cuts are not shredded and definitely generous. Can't say enough on the flavor! Absolute favorite. *Beef ribs daikon clear soup (Thick noodles)* Nicely sliced beef ribs served on the side to preserve the flavor of the soup and keep the meat warm. Noodles are cooked well with the right level of chewiness. Soup has its natural sweetness and definitely cooked from broth. Highly recommend to try.

Wish there was a tiny bit more seafood but it was fresh and served on the hot plate which kept the food warm throughout the meal. Also tried the chicken karaage and veggie tempura. Flavor of the chicken was great but it was a bit chewy. It said it would take 20-30 min for the okonomiyaki but it felt like the food came out much quicker than that. Nice cozy restaurant interior, plenty of tables when I arrived around 11:45am on a Saturday but the restaurant was full by the time we left.

Rokko offers a huge Izakaya style menu including sushi and meshi, and Fugestsu offers okonomiyaki aka Japanese pizza / latkes. - While the Izakaya style offerings were great, the okonomiyaki was fantastic! I hadn't had it for a couple years, and I'd forgotten how magical it is. Came here in a group and did a family style order including the okonomiyaki "sampler." The four items in the sampler were the first four items completely eaten by our group! Maybe all okonomiyaki is this good and I'd just forgotten. Or maybe Fugetsu is really special. Actually it's special no matter what because even if you're the only okonomiyaki lover in your group, your dining companions can order from the giant Rokko menu with all its other stuff. I'll be back.

Deep red chili oil on top, beef broth underneath that tastes like it actually simmered for hours, tender braised beef, bok choy, scallions, and cilantro finishing it off. Heat builds slowly and stays there, not the cheap instant burn you get at lesser spots. The clear broth version is clean and comforting, more for the purist crowd, but the spicy has way more depth. Noodles are the real deal. Hand pulled in house, chewy with that perfect pull when you bite in, holds up in the broth without going soggy halfway through. You can order different thicknesses, which is the move. The cucumber salad appetizer is a must. Whole cucumber fanned out like a dragon coil, dressed simply with garlic, vinegar, and chili. Crisp, cold, cuts through the spice of the soup perfectly. Get one per person, trust me. Service is fast, prices are fair for what you get, and the bowls come out hot and massive. One of the most legit Lanzhou spots I've had in the Bay. Already planning the next visit.

They do serve coffee for dinner time but I can't take the caffeine at night. The service is above average for a chinese restaurant. The waiter was pretty patience with us as we brought an elderly guest with us at the table so we took a little longer to enjoy our meal. The interior design of the restaurant is pretty interesting where the booth is align an triangular shape with a center piece so the tables can be put together for larger parties very easily. Definitely easier to get a table for parties of 4 or less but it will work out for larger parties as well.
