Came here on a cold day because we craved something warm and soupy! ordered the beef bone (spicy) noodles and mixed meat noodles. Both were tasty, but the beef bone carried a numbing spice to it. Portions are generous - I'd recommend sharing one bowl between two people. Staff was extremely kind and attentive, and their QR code ordering system made everything quick and easy. We didn't realize until midway through the meal that there was a self-serve station for cilantro, green onions, and hot chili oil. We must've been too excited to eat. Next time we know to stop by here to grab our toppings beforehand!
Fast service good food. Pork and bamboo noodle soup: 4/5 the Mifen on Lawrence makes this soup better but their noodles are still very good. Picked veggies and braised pork noodle soup: 4/5 pork was flavorful and tender. I really enjoyed the picked veggies and soup. Intestines noodle soup: hubby was sweating buckets while eating this
Absolutely fast service- great place to eat if in a rush. Noods: 5/5 I like that they separate the meat from the base soup with noodles. Noodles are like bun Bo hue as someone already mentioned. Broth is flavorful and sweet; the base broth was same for both orders- spicy beef and braised beef. We were able to adjust spiciness based on how much of the meat and oil we poured into the soup bowl. The braised beef was tender. Good proportions also, I took leftovers to go. Appetizer: 4/5 Fried fish is crispy. Would have loved some salt and pepper with it though. The steamed veggies: plain cabbage. Could do with salt. Service: 5/5 the staff were sweet and could speak English. They gave us plenty of to-go containers. Payment is done up at the counter. Ambience: Clean and modern decor. Not many people in the afternoon.
This is a great spot to get a hearty bowl of noodles after work. It has a nice cozy interior. The beef in the noodle soup is very tender and juicy. Be warned that the spicy one is really quite spicy but yummy nonetheless. The not signature super spicy one is ok in spice level. The staff is pretty fast and efficient with their service
I've been to their other Sunnyvale location, so I knew what to expect. This location is pretty much the same so I am glad they offer 2 locations! Upon arriving, I ordered their super spicy noodle soup with beef innards via the QR code. I usually prefer just beef chunks with the noodles for easy eating, but they don't offer that with the super spicy flavor which I like. The other option is beef on bones which would be even harder to eat. I do love the flavor! Now that I know what to expect, I just dumped the full dish into the soup because I like the spiciness. Service was good, food was served quickly and don't really need much else. Good ambiance too, place is bright and clean. Will definitely come back when I have spicy noodle cravings again!
Noodles are EXACTLY bun bo hue noodles. If they're fresh, you can't tell. The soup was okay. Meat was tender and spicy, as promised, but anything stewed for a long time tends to be. I don't like that they used plastic containers for things they could've served on plates. Not earth conscious. Prefer bbh. All day.
I came here on a weekend for lunch, and I was able to get a table for 4 people right away. We ordered 3 dishes. All the mifen (rice noodle) dishes have the same soup base. Depending on which one you order, there's an extra bowl that contains the flavor and meat for your specific type of noodles soup. 1. Special rice noodles with beef bone (super spicy): this was indeed extremely spicy!! Like REALLY spicy!! But I love spice, so this was amazing. The beef was also seasoned extremely well and they give a nice cut of it 2. Special rice noodles with meat, bamboo shoots, and pickles: I'm not a huge fan of pickled things, so I thought this was okay 3. Salty crispy chicken: this is their version of popcorn chicken. I wish the pieces were smaller so that there was a greater ratio of surface area (flavor) to volume, but overall it was indeed crispy! Be warned that when they say spicy, it is actually really spicy. Overall, I would come here again and just get their Special rice noodles with beef bone.
The super spicy beef noodles will clear your sinuses! Also make sure you have tissues nearby because you're gonna sweat. The rice noodles are nice and chewy as noted by other patrons. The soup is tasty alone but you can adjust the soup base by adding in the beef smothered in a spicy sauce that is served on the side. Also included on the side are onions and cilantro. Service is very fast even at lunch hour when it was a bit busier. You can pull up the menu using the bar code (and since the internet reception is low here you can use their Wi-Fi connection). I placed my order directly with the waitress instead of signing up with my phone number through their website.
Love the spicy , hot , Hunan flavors! Really can't get enough of the dried noodles w/ crayfish! I order broth on the side because it's I love how flavorful and clear it is. It's helps keep the spicy flavors in tongue manageable. Special Rice Noodle w/ Beef Bone is super spicy with kick! Service efficient and helpful when you call them over to help you place order on their iPad or your device. The inside is bustling and enough tables . We went to the Sunnyvale location @ Lakewood Village and parking is no issue. Good turnover so no waiting to be seated. It has a good energy
I actually like this place a lot! We stumbled upon this when we are in the area looking for something warm and hearty and this is exactly that. Parking is good and the staff is very kind. There are also machines to let you order take out if needed and the wait to be seated was very short. We got chicken Kaarage, both of the non-spicy options of Mifen. I do think there are more spicy options on the menu than not. They give you the mifen noodles and the pork toppings in separate bowls so when you get the food you can mix them together yourself. I do wish there are more veggies in the noodles besides the pickles but the overall taste of the dish is very good. Recommend to give it a try!
My impression of hunanese mifen is that, no matter what place you visit, its going to be super spicy. However, Hunan Mifen has a lot of options and provides the soup base / braised meat / spicy sauce separately, so you can make adjustments as needed for your meal. For the non-spicy option, the Tomato based beef soup is my favorite. It is super filling, with generous portions of meat. The standard hunan mifen (spicy) is also quite good. If you're not sure just ask what to order. Also, you'll want to try the popcorn chicken, which can be really good, or average. Last but not least, they are currently having a seasonal item that has a stinky tofu smell, so you'll probably "experience" it the first few minutes, but they have strong fans, so it'll just go away eventually.
Mother of all meat skimping. Located near corner of Remington and El Camino Real between Dollar Tree and Bawarchi. Arrived 530pm on a weekday and place almost empty. 10 bar stools, and about 11 tables. First restaurant where I used a QR code to see the menu, make a selection, order the food, and pay the bill. $16 rice noodles with spicy crayfish came with the main ingredients in a large bowl with spicy sauce, including noodles and ample number of peeled crayfish. Could not separate the sauce from the seafood here. Second smaller bowl with the broth. Tasty and spicy. Noodles almost tasted like wheat noodles. The $14 rice noodles with braised beef sirloin and tomato tasted good, not too spicy with very thick and firm rice noodles. Came with a bowl with one small piece of beef and five beef tendons. So little beef that my vegetarian brother-in-law could eat it. Should be called rice noodles with beef tendon and tomato, and priced downward accordingly. A yelp review showed a ladybug in soup on 9-8-2021. They are all gone, probably perished in the soup, below the surface
The food is amazing and the service is efficient and effective. Well I guess I should write more. This location used to be a Japanese restaurant so you'll still see the sushi bar for seating which is a good choice for single diners. Sunnyvale Hunan rice noodle used to be reigned by the Noodle Talk so I was curious how this place compares when I saw a huge line last time I passed by. I waited at the opening during lunch time to be seated as the first diner. I have to say the food did not disappoint. The Noodle was fresh and chewy at the right amount. There is plenty of meat (whatever you choose) and enough noodles that makes it worth your money. The service is extremely efficient and noodles come out quickly. I like the waitress and waiters there. They are not super friendly but courteous and very good at looking at cues for what you need. Honestly I welcome the new mifen overlord. Oh I chose the intestine one and it was delicious.
Lots of seating and plenty of parking. Staffs were nice and restroom was really clean. The noodles itself, definitely a niche of its own. Be ready to taste that sichuan type of spice that numbs and lingers. Personally was not a fan of the flavors but I can understand why people would really like it. I came here twice and didn't have to wait too long both times. I feel like the employees here kind of speak to you like they are your aunt- I feel like they make sure they have what you need, which is really nice. There isn't a whole lot of seating inside, but they do have a couple tables outside. It doesn't look as modern, but comfortable enough. The food is super good. The combo is such a good idea, especially if you get a spicy rice noodle dish. When you feel like it gets too spicy, you can eat some of the cold green bean soup to cool off. You can also pick what appetizer you want. We got the popcorn chicken, which was just so satisfying. The rice noodles themselves were pretty good, the flavor was strong and satisfying. If you order a spicy one, the spice and meat comes in a separate bowl so you can adjust how much spice you want to add. I'm not a huge fan of rice noodles, but I would come back here for the combo! read more
Tried this place twice, the first time I've had it, I tried the spicy beef with bone. I felt like it's more difficult to eat and it can get messy. The second time, I tried the spicy intestine noodle soup. I prefer this one more as it's a lot easier to eat. The chili oil can get spicy! I like the texture of the noodles, but the meat ratio is quite small here. Tried the fried fish and also fried pork appetizers, both are decent! Not bad for a quick lunch! Price: on the higher side: 15 for a minced beaf mifan Food Meat: love the taste and seasonings Side veg: love the sour vegetables (green onions are on the side for takeaways) Soup: not so good; too much black pepper and covers the meat taste Wrapping: they wrap all bowls tightly for takeaway orders, which I like Order speed: efficient! ordered at the door and got it in 10 mins Worth trying for the first time but probably won't come back because I don't like spicy, and the menu is limited for non-spicy options. read more

Our favorite noodle spot because we love it spicy. Would recommend to order online and ahead. Sometimes the in-person wait can be very long. The beef noodle is super spicy, would recommend only putting one meat piece inside the soup at a time. Good place for a bowl of warming, filling noodle soup. Nice broth and enjoyed the mifen. I chose the meat and bamboo shoots and it was quite tasty. I added a side of sliced beef and that was too dry and overpriced. You place the order online using the QR code and pay online as well when you are done. Super busy fir a place that just opened -- aside from it being fully seated at 6pm, I also saw tons of orders for take out. read more
Very special for the way you are served. They separate the noddle from the meat and let you decide how to eat them. You can mix them and eat them. This is the normal way. Or you can eat noddle and meat separately. This is the way I like. It allows you to drink the soup with its original taste. Also allows you to share the meats with other people on the same table. Highly recommend this place! read more

The mifen here reminds me of what I eat when I visit my grandma in Hunan! An incredibly delicious bowl of noodles can be found here. You order via QR code on your phone and the food is brought out to you pretty quickly. Sides of meat and veggies can be added if you wish. I got a side of veggies and an century egg appetizer along with my special hot beef intestines. They don't hold back on the chili oil here and it is HOT, just like how it is in Hunan. read more

It was my first time here and also the last The waiter was kind of rude when I asked questions. The food is just mediocre. I decided to add some spicy so I asked for a little bit of chili pepper. The waitress said" No, you can't because you ordered this". I said If I could have chili pepper. She immediately said 75 cents . I was surprised because usually other restaurants would leave a bottle of chili pepper on the table for customers to use. So I said ok. She then brought out a little plastic container as you see in the picture. That's totally ripped off because i already paid $18 for a small bowl of noodles with little meat and I couldn't get 1/4 tsp of chili pepper? I wouldn't recommend this place to my family and friends. read more

Ordered to go on Saturday night. Very disappointed with the quality. All the noodles are broken and short, feels like "left overs" from other customers. Texture are very smushy, not like good quality chewy Mifen. Will not visit again if there's any other options. read more

The serving speed is so fast. Loved it. I always enter a restaurant starving so they really helped me out. All the soup rice noodle has the same base, only sauce/meat are different. The signature dish are spicy watch out!!!!but taste really good. The service is good and I like the store vibe. Already been here three times. I have a really good friend who lives in Bay Area, this is a must go place every time I visit her. Highly recommend! (But The tofu is average, didn't have too much flavor) read more
