We came here as a group of four for dinner on a Tuesday night, and the restaurant wasn't too busy. I arrived first and tried to get a table, but even after making eye contact with one of the staff, I was ignored until I waved them down to be seated. No one explained how to order, and it turned out that customers are expected to scan a QR code to place orders on their phones. If you're dining with someone who isn't tech-savvy or prefers traditional service, this setup might be a bit inconvenient. Once we figured out how to order, the food came out quickly. Everything was decent but a little on the salty side -- we tried a few sides like the century egg and bok choy, plus some noodles and rice bowls for the mains. When we finished and tried to pay, we were somewhat abruptly told to go to the register to check out, which felt a bit impolite. Overall, I'd say this spot works fine if you're just looking for a quick bite with minimal service expectations. But if attentive, friendly service is important to you, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. On the plus side, parking in the plaza was easy and plentiful.
The food here is excellent and a great value for the price. I really liked the self-serve side dishes, and the broth was rich and flavorful. The noodles had a great chew, and the combination of pickled veggies and braised beef added wonderful depth to the dish. The interior is modern and nicely designed, with plenty of space. I came on a weekday, and my friends and I were in and out within an hour, so the trip was quick, delicious, and satisfying!
I loved the flavor of the beef as well as the intestines. It had a good spice and I thought it could be a bit spicier. The flavor of the noodle broth wasn't special but when paired with the spicy meats, it was spectacular. The noodles are the same as what would be used for bun bo hue or khaopoon. The service was good especially when I surprised the girl with my terrible Mandarin. This is a casual dining spot where you order by QR code.
We grabbed dinner at ~6pm on a Thursday evening. It was pretty empty, with only one or two other customers in-out through the duration of our meal. The restaurant was very clean and had a very modern/remodeled aesthetic. I was really IMPRESSED by the customer service and general service that we received. My friend was unsure if the soup they ordered would be too spicy (hot), so they helped clarify the intensity and then further offered to provide warm water to dilute the spicy-ness if necessary. Unlike other restaurants, the staff were friendly and tried their best to serve their customer and fulfill our needs. I ordered the pork rib noodle soup, which was AMAZING. The broth was rich and FLAVORFUL. The noodles had a great BITE and CHEW. The portion was definitely enough, and filling. They had condiments and side dishes like radishes and green onions etc. that were self-serve on the counter near by the self-serve water. I would say that just by having this available for customers shows that the restaurant is a very honest establishment, truly putting the customer first over all other things. We also ordered the stinky tofu. Despite it being my first time trying it, my friend who has had it growing up, said that it was authentic and YUMMY! I thought it wasn't bad, more of an acquired taste. Lastly, we got the glutinous rice cakes with brown sugar for dessert. It was more of a "shot in the dark" pick on the menu. It was alright. We were pretty stuffed from all of the food prior to reaching dessert that the desire to eat more decreased. BUT, if you are a fan of rice cakes dipped in brown sugar with a sweet syrup on the side, then I think you would like it!
好好吃my favorite was the braised pork belly rice and the shrimp cakes. but everything was delicious
Great place for delicious Mifen! Plenty of parking, and the restaurant is clean, bright, and comfortable. We ordered two bowls of the signature Mifen, and the broth was rich and full of flavor. The best part was the service. Both staff members were incredibly friendly and even checked in to make sure we were happy with the food and service, which is something you don't often see at Chinese restaurants. We'll definitely be back!
I got the rice noodles with beef ribs and pickled mustard. The broth was very flavorful, not too spicy. I liked how much of the pickled mustard was added to the broth. The meat was nice and tender, and the noodles were a good amount of chewiness. I don't know how this dish would be improved, hence the 5 star rating. Service was very quick! And the inside is classic, simple Chinese restaurant with dark wood tables and chairs.
Been here two times in a week! It's a popular lunch spot and after 12, there are people waiting outside, either a group or an individual. Not a lot of service as the wait staff are busy. The decor is also quite minimum. There is a sauce and condiment self serving area for green onions and cilantro, pickles and fried pork skins. Order via a QR code and multiple phone orders can all land in the same receipt. After ordering, food came in fast. However, even though the menu prompted changes and notes you could make to the order, you can't do it on the phone. For example, I wanted to skip the spicy pickle for the tomato beef noodle and despite the instructions said so, i couldn't do it on the phone. So I had to walk over to the cashier station and made the change there. Cashier station was friendly and nice but that's the only service you go. We ordered a bunch of things to try. For appetizers, the century egg is good, the fried pork is better, the stinky tofu is not that stinky and when eating it, it's just fried dry tofu. The house signature spicy pork rib noodle soup is super spicy but they kept the meat with chili oil separate from the noodle soup, so you can add in the spice level, still, it's super spicy with numbness. I tried the chicken with mushroom noodle soup, not bad but I can't say it's memorable. Also tried the tomato with beef noodle soup, this one is disappointing as it doesn't have any tomato, the beef chunks are not that generous either. The feedback from the guys are that the noodle amount is good enough to be filling and they enjoyed the spicy level for those that can eat spicy. For me that cant' eat much spicy food, it's just ok, nothing memorable to return to.
Aside from the black tofu, the soup and the rice dish weren't that flavorful. There are better mifen spots in the area.
Beef noodle soup- awesome Beef bone noodle soup with spicy beef aside- super spicy Dry noodles very flavorful Popcorn Chicken and crispy pork- our favorite. Edamame- great appetizer
The cuisine at Hunan Mifen Lawrence was exceptional robust, delicious broth and expertly prepared noodles. I selected the spicy beef rice noodles, which achieved a perfect balance of flavors with an ideal degree of spiciness. The odorous tofu was unexpectedly delectable and genuine. The service was prompt and amicable, and the workers were exceptionally accommodating when I inquired about the menu. They extended a warm welcome to me upon my arrival. The restaurant's ambiance is pristine, inviting, and exudes a tranquil atmosphere ideal for savoring a nice bowl of noodles. I appreciated the contemporary yet minimalist interior design. It is an excellent location for individual dining as well as intimate parties. I will certainly return.
Their 3 chilli rice noodle with beef ribs is legit super spicy- we have a ritual where we bring people who like spicy food here and have them order this one, no matter what 10/10 times after first slurp, the panic and coughing sets in. Best part about it is that it's insanely spicy and delicious/savoury! Tips for first timers is to not go all in and drown your noodle broth with the spicy oil but just cautiously dip the beef ribs in the soup. Their cold dessert soup (that you get when the weather is hot) is very refreshing and just the right amount of sweetness. Very good and fast service, place is always clean.
So glad I found this place that serves up an awesome bowl of rice noodles! I wished I packed a bigger appetite because there looked like so many food appetizer dishes but I was here for one item and it didn't disappoint. First off you order off the QR code and I got the rice noodles with pickled cabbage and beef brisket. The texture of the noodles were cooked to perfection and it had a very good amount of brisket. The umami of the piping hot soup broth was also awesome too. Making a trip back to SJ this summer with some friends and will go back again and update this review with more items on their menu!
Reviews are largely positive. Diners praise the authentic and flavorful food, friendly and helpful service, and clean and modern ambiance. Portions are generous.

Mouthwateringly amazing!!!! Can't believe I only just discovered this place. The braised pork belly rice with egg was out of this world, I'm already craving it the next day! The meat was so tender, the rice was the perfect amount of the softness, and the flavor was so satisfying and 香. Every bite melts in your mouth. Had a piece of popcorn chicken which was decent. Friend ordered one of the house special rice noodles which looked good as well, I'll probably order one of their noodles next time to try out. Service was friendly, they refilled our water twice! Environment was relatively clean, but tables were crowded a bit close together and it was a bit loud to the point where I couldn't hear my friend talk even leaning in sitting right across from her. read more
I came at noon on a Friday with 2 friends to celebrate CNY in tradition clothes. Funny thing was that 1 of our friends went to the other Sunnyvale store; good thing it was only 10 min away. The place is clean and spacious with plenty of parking. Ordering is via QR code which I am not a fan of. I ordered the Rice noodle with beef ribs and pickled mustard. The broth was rich with flavor but I still added green onions and hot sauce. It was a big bowl of soup which I took home 1/2 for another meal. I ate carefully so as not to soil my special outfit. Kudos to me. Good food, good place. Too bad we forgot to take a group pic of ourselves. read more
I visit 2 to 4 times per month. The soup, the beef, the level of the spiciness and the rice noodles are all very authentic. If I am asked to pick only one rice noodle restaurant in the Bay Area, I will pick Hunan Mifen without any hesitation. read more

There has been couple of mifen places popping up. I like how convenient this place is located and all the side snacks they have. I loved the fish but their stinky tofu is not as good in my opinion. The service is awesome and they have an all you can take garnish bar. The noodles portion is huge and the spicy noodles are VERY spicy. The restaurant is very clean and lots of open spaces. read more
Wow, what an experience! This feels like a very authentic spot for spicy Hunan noodles. :) FOOD [4/5] * Special Rice Noodles with Beef Bone (Super Spicy) The super spicy label scared me a bit (I find hot Cheetos spicy!) but I really loved that they put the spicy sauce and bones into a separate bowl so you can essentially choose how spicy you want your broth to be. I thought the broth and noodles weren't anything too special, but the beef bones were really delicious, spicy, and tender. They also include a bowl of green onion and cilantro to add into the soup! SERVICE [5/5] Service was friendly, quick, and efficient. We came right before closing time and they were still very nice in accommodating a table for us in record time! I would definitely come back here on a cold winter day and enjoy the spicy soup again. :) read more

Delicious! Hella spicy. They gave a free stinky tofu if you purchased $60(?). The link to order is set by table, we thought we ordered separately but it was actually all together. I got the pork and bamboo mifen with no spice, delicious and very hot. Also got a side order of the spicy beef because I had to try it, so good and also so glad I didn't have it in soup. Tried the stinky tofu, never had black one before(!, I guess I've only had Taiwanese?). If I wasn't breathing at all it was good! But for me the smell is still too gross lol My more Chinese friends liked it a lot though! read more

Hunan mifen chain, (mifen in chinese is rice noodles btw) Everything is digital so they do card only, you order online through 39mile qr code and can pay online or at the register Lots of parking since its in the shopping plaza Its an easy restaurant to go to if the saigon seafood harbor is too long of a wait Pretty fast service and pretty customizable ordering Would recommend their house specials but be wary of the mala or numbing spice read more
Yum! We stopped by for a quick dinner and left super satisfied. The service and ordering is super quick with a waiting list out that you can sign up for to receive a text when your table is ready. Then you order via QR code inside and can pay through the website as well. We got the spicy beef bone rice noodle, preserved veggies with braised beef and crispy pork strips to share. The noodles came quickly and it's separated into base soup and noodles with the meat and sauce on the side so you can customize it depending on how much of the additional flavor you want in the soup. We were warned the spicy beef noodle would be very spicy but it wasn't too bad and I really like the beef which was a bit tricky to eat around the bone but super tender. The fried pork was also pretty good (especially with the chili spice on the side) and a good portion to share. Overall a great spot to get a warm bowl of noodles and prices are pretty good as well (most of the noodle soups range from $14-16). read more
Solid rice noodles with incredibly fast service. Pay at the counter after eating, order on your phone. This rice noodle chain produces a very solid and satisfying noodle bowl. While every soup is a bit on the saltier side, it's a very hearty meal with great portion sizes and a fair number of meat options. I loved how much meat came with the spiced baby back ribs, as they were a lot larger than I thought they'd be. With the base noodle bowl being the same across the dishes, it's simple to just choose which meat option you're feeling and to be fed, and both bowls were great. I think my food came out in under 5 minutes, which is insane. However, the fried fish, which took a bit longer to come out, was a bit more disappointing, as it was cooked to perfection but was notably blander than I expected. The breading was really good, too, but it didn't make up for the taste. A great place to go in and grab a fast bite. Very relaxed atmosphere, and waiters were on standby waiting to help. read more
Came here after craving spicy noodles with my gf. Had heard good reviews previously so I was hopeful. The appetizers came at the same time as main meal which was disappointing. Service was otherwise good. The pidan was saltier than normal- I have had spicy pidan as an appetizer at other restauraunts. It also had a slightly sweet taste. Shrimp cakes were not bad. The rice noodle I ordered was pretty good! Tried broth without spice and it was flavorful. The meat is tender and spicy oil is great. Overall would go again, hopefully the service can improve :) read more

read more
New restaurant and I was feeling Chinese food so I decided to try it. They have a grand opening special which is a noodle soup with appetizer and a fresh green bean soup which tastes okay. I had the house marinated tofu which tasted great though I would want to try crispy chicken in the future. Their beef bone soup was good but the spiciness is serious. I poured in the bones and spices into the soup and it wasn't really edible for me. Maybe if I add more broth to dilute it then it will be okay. Spicy lovers will lime this. It's a bit similar to Szechuan cuisine. The way you order is by scanning a QR code on your phone and ordering from there. read more
Went to this mall for something else and stumble upon this place. There was a short line for dine in. Super busy packed house Didn't wait too long to get a table and order their specialty. Rice noodle with beef sparrib. The food took a while as expected as it was super busy packed house Glad the spicy rib was separated from the noodle soup. I'm not a spicy lover, but thought why not. Let's see how spicy isit. Ate the first couple ribs and was ok. Have cold water and soup to cleanse my mouth. After about the 3rd one the spice is getting to me... so I started to dip the rest of the ribs into the noodle soup. That works well, definitely lower the heat level The noodle soup was also very good. The rice noodles seems so much better than the Vietnamese rice noodles from dishes like bbh. The soup was also pretty good. With some added spice it was even better. The crowd was all chinese and staff was also all chinese. Essentially, feels like when I'm in china. QR code to order and everyone all speak Chinese. So, if you are not used to this environment, beware. Thought this was a great addition to this area. They sure found a good spot for their expansion.. Will definitely be coming back to try the 1 spicy level offerings. 3 spicy level a bit too much for me. read more

I visited Human Mifen Lawrence in California. Although it was generous to come with two bowls, I found the dish too salty. The ambiance and service were average, but the food was served promptly, and there was an available restroom. Since there are plenty of other Asian food options in the area, I would consider trying somewhere else next time. read more
Come here if you like spicy noodles! We haven't tried a lot of mifen places around here, and this place was also pretty close to an event we had later on. I didn't even know that this plaza existed, and it was pretty easy to park. The restaurant was maybe half full, and we ordered on our phone using their QR code. We decided to get their Rice Noodles with (I think) Sliced Stewed Spiced Beef, a side of their Beef Bone, and Fried Stinky Tofu. My friend got their Rice Noodles with Spicy Crayfish. The food came out pretty quickly, though one at a time in somewhat random order. We are all pretty good with spicy food, but not going to lie, the food here messed us up. It was like a bearable amount spice, but definitely at the high end, and it kind of gave us a stomach ache later on. I'm not really used to the rice noodle with spicy oil, but the flavor was good, and the beef and noodles were nice and soft. The beef bone was also great, though it was honestly not that much more meat. I'm more used to Taiwanese stinky tofu, and the flavor of the stinky tofu was a little different, but it was still great and the stink kind of built up with each bite. I think next time I will try their non-spicy noodles with broth, but I'd recommend their spicy stuff if you really like spice! read more

Great authentic food. Quick service. Stinky tofu was on point. All the noodles were well made and seasoned. This felt like a quick in and out environment for a good bowl of noodles. Nothing fancy and special but just solid. read more
