Finally got to try this spot! Lunch date with hubs. Fast service. Yellow braised chicken or was it pork: 4/5 tasty strong ginger flavor. Liked the side pickled veggies and soup too. Sauerkraut beef noodle soup: 5/5 very tasty too! A little sour and very flavorful broth. We will be back!

Simple but solid. The yellow braised chicken has a wonderful sauce flavor, and goes really well with the rice and seaweed salad. The seaweed soup is lightly flavored so helps to break up the richness from the chicken and sauce. Food comes out pretty quickly after you order via a QR code. Service is very polite! Simple tables and chairs inside.

Reminds me of home cooked food. I got the braised boneless chicken because I got kids and don't have the luxury of enjoying bone in chicken. I ordered on the kiosk and choose the potato shreds, egg drop soup, and added quail eggs. Super satisfying and exactly what I was craving. When dining out, so many meals are overly salty, oily, or fried -- I'm glad there's a wholesome alternative that's not just another salad. The staff was friendly and helpful, and they even brought my food out to me while I waited outside.

This is a pretty good spot for fast service & decent food. The server was very attentive & when I went it, only half of the restaurant was filled with people. Here's what I got: Cold Mixed Beancurd & Cucumber & Woodear Mushroom: Amazing. I would come back just for this alone. It's crunchy, refreshing & full of flavor. Yellow Braised Chicken Combo (Boneless) w/ Egg soup & Cold Mixed Cut Cut Potato Shreds: The chicken was just ok, not dry, just wasn't flavorful enough. It was a bit underseasoned. The egg soup was extremely bland, but the Cold Mixed Cut Cut Potato Shreds were amazing. It had a great bite to it. Yellow Braised Beef Brisket Combo w/ Seaweed Soup & Cold Mixed Cut Potato Shreds: My favorite. The beef was flavorful & tender. The seaweed soup reminds me of what I had growing up, but a bit watered down. Passion Fruit Tea: Very watered down. I would not order this again. I would come back to try what else they have to offer.

Good rice noodles. Spicy is sinus-opening spicy, which is good. Fast lunch service.

Finally a spot where I can find some good braised meat! The chicken was so tender and the sauce was very well balanced. It was not too sweet or too salty. Noodles were just okay. We tried the pork bone soup and the tomato-based noodle soup, but both were a little too bland for my taste. We went at an odd time so it wasn't too busy, and the service was great. They even gave us some fruit tea on the house! The place is clean and simple. I'd definitely come back for the braised dishes!

Generous portions and delicious food! Came here on a Friday for dinner and there was plenty of seating! The vibe feels very casual and the service was pretty fast in terms of seating us and serving the food. The ordering is done online, which is very convenient. We ordered the cucumber salad (10/10, very generous with the garlic) and the intestine chicken combo. It came with many sides (including soup, rice, and seaweed salad), which I enjoyed a lot! The portion was very large and I ended up sharing with someone, which was the perfect amount for us. In terms of flavor, I was very impressed! The quail eggs were also a very nice touch. I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try!

Had a chance to try the DX Braised Chicken Rice restaurant and glad I did! The service here is nice to come with friends if you are craving hearty chinese food and this place has plenty of tables to sit in. The food here is pretty healthy and the ambiance is welcoming. For Food the hubby and I tried: *Yellow Braised beef rice bowl which came with little chunks of beef in a delicious gravy, potato and carrots. This also came with a side of white rice which was great * Yellow Braised Boneless Chicken - This was also delicious and hubby added mushrooms to this as well. This also came with a side of rice which was awesome Overall the food was hearty, well portioned and well priced. Would definitely recommend this spot for a nice Casual meal!

this spot serves the most fire clay pot braised meats. the interior is simple and clean, perfect for a casual meal or just to take out and go! there was no wait on a thursday evening and parking is really easy around there. we ordered a yellow braised chicken and the yellow braised beef meal, both mild spicy. the pricing is a little high given the smallish portion size, but it's still a good amount of food for a meal. the meat is super juicy, soft, and flavorful! there's also potatoes and carrots in the clay pot. mild spicy was a bit more spicy than expected but the flavor was still good. both came with a side of rice and the meal set comes with two sides. overall, i love this spot for a comforting & balanced meal - would highly recommend!

We came on a Saturday early lunch time, parking is plenty and the inside is pretty spacious. The place slowly fills up close to one. Food: Each claypot comes with a lot of sauce and a bowl of rice. It also came out pretty fast. The chicken in the boneless chicken claypot is very soft, but to me the flavor is a bit too plain compared to the other two. The pork ribs and pork trotter were my favorites. They are both spiced perfectly with Chinese flavors and I ate so much rice with them. The pork trotter were so tender and perfectly cooked it was very easy to eat. The potatoes in the pork ribs soaked up a ton of flavor and were very good too. I would definitely coming back again for the trotters, tasted like home.

Yellow Braised Chicken Combo (Bone-In) and Signature Spiced Beef Shank

Delicious and flavorful food with a great price. We got the yellow braised chicken (bone-in) combo and the yellow braised pork trotter combo. The chicken was so flavorful and tender but the star was the pork trotter which had such great flavor and was so soft. Though we got mild spice levels for both, overtime as we were eating we felt the heat because of the jalapeños added in the pot. The sides that come with the combo were very generous sizes! The seaweed soup was nice and warm and the egg soup was chilled which added a nice balance to the heat from the clay pot. Service was extremely quick, will definitely coming back here again for the flavor and large portions.

It's a spicy clay-pot place. On that, the foods are quite enjoyable. Like so many, they aim to streamline the operation with an "one-two-three" menu design. You pick either a rice or rice noodle pot, with a main ingredient, then sides. That really did not work as there aren't any customization choices other than the spicy level. The namesake chicken clay pot 經典黃燜雞, although ordered mild, was quite spicy. It was a bit overcooked for my tastes, as the green peppers had lost their crisp. A nit to pick was the existence of bone fragments. They should have rinsed the chicken after cutting to rid those. We enjoyed the "sauerkraut" beef rice noodle 酸菜牛肉米線. It was definitely on the spicy side. The appetizer "3 ingredients" 扮三樣 had only 2 and was on the salty side. The services were prompt. The drink selection was quite limited. The chopsticks were disposable and low quality.

Family dinner at a cold night- definitely great choice for the weather. Came here around 630pm, waited for 5 minutes and seated. Inside with fast food type of set up, not big. And inside you can hear and smell pressure cooker chicken cooking. And all orders taken by QR code scan on the table, we ordered the braised chicken ( with and without bones) also one bone soup noodle. The boneless braised chicken portion is really small and barely covered the bottom , my five year old son can finish by himself . The boneless braised chicken soup noodle was great, the soup flavor and the tofu and veggies made the taste even better. They also provide kid plate. Recommended for quick bite for family and friend gatherings, not the very hungry time - the portion was small.

The food tastes good. The portion is generous. The service is nice. And the price is fair. Basically it's a perfect choice for a quick meal.

The combination of meat, veggies and the exterior crispy pancake created such an outstanding tasting effect. The lamb dish had one of the most tender meats I've tasted. The brown sugar sticky rice cake was soft inside and hard outside; with just the right amount of sweetness. Service was ok. They should've been kinder and more grateful. I liked how they have a sign posted on window saying that gratuity is at free will and you don't pay for the wrong dish they send to you. It showed accountability. That's why we keep coming back, for now.

There was no line for us to be seated. I was able to flag down a server to seat us since they seem to be extremely busy cleaning tables and servicing others. The hotpots are full of ingredients and the broth has always been tasty. Unfortunately, the meats seem to be overcooked. Prices have been going up over the years where only the monthly special is enticing for the value. Servers were friendly and checked in on us, but it took 25 minutes for our food to show up at our table after we ordered. The only consistent experience I've had are the oranges at the end of the meal. They are always amazingly sweet, juicy, and comes off the peel easily. I don't usually enjoy oranges, but I love the ones HomeEat offers! Will be back if in the area, but hope kitchen service will be quicker in the future.

Incredible vegan spicy red oil sesame noodles!!!!! (Look for "The Works, night market fave" on the…read moremenu). Surprisingly, the normal Dan Dan noodles ("special sesame dry noodle") were quite bad. The beef and tendon noodle soup is not bad, decent for when I was sick. There is a "beef and tendon noodle soup" as well as a "beef only noodle soup" on the menu - you might think the beef only one would be better value and have more meat, I ordered both to see the difference - even though the meat only one does have more meat, the meat is more tough and very hard to chew. So the beef with tendons soup has way better texture and more tender meat pieces

After placing our order, the food came out relatively quick. We ordered 2 beef noodle soups, the works, and 2 beef rolls. Starting off with the beef rolls, these came out cold. I heard that this is what this place was known for. The meat in our rolls wasn't even lukewarm and the pancakes came out super soggy almost like they didn't even try. Please tell me how the pancake look brown and crispy on the outside and still comes out cold and not crispy at all. My nephew even said they weren't crispy and he's 3. The lady told us that the sauce on the inside was salty and that's why they don't give extra and man was she right. 1/5* The beef noodles soup itself flavor wise was good and portion wise it was good for $21, but my noodles had no chew to them at all. I was attempting to pick them up with chopsticks and they would just break into pieces. They do give a decent amount of beef though in this. 2.5/5* for the flavor but don't expect much from the noodles. Same thing went for the works, it was a peanut buttery sauce that the lady claimed wasn't spicy, but my parents noticed that it had a kick to it even though they asked for it not to be spicy. The egg is a nice touch but not too sure if it's worth the price. Noodle consistency was the same as the beef noodle soup. 2.5/5*

We have been curious about this restaurant since we moved to the neighborhood. Finally got a chance…read moreto check it out. It is a bit of a dumpy place right next to a gas station, across from an empty strip mall shop area! We weren't even sure the restaurant was open when we got here. We were asked to pick any table - mostly booths. There's a QR code to scan and place your order. After peruse quite an array of items we picked the ma po tofu and the beef with onions. Service was minimal- we weren't even sure presented with 2 cups and a carafe of water to start. Our order arrived and we got a complimentary seaweed miso soup. Soup was quite good with real seaweed - not the dehydrated stuff in some Japanese restaurants. Surprisingly the food was delicious! The ma po tofu was very authentic. There's schezwan peppers or Mala in it but it was not overpowering that it numbs your tastebuds! The tofu was soft and silky. The beef had good flavor and balanced the meal out. Beef was tender. Overall we enjoyed our meal. Will definitely come back to try other dishes on the menu If you're not familiar with traditional Chinese entrees the menu can be quite daunting and a turn off. They definitely utilize all animal parts!

I'm super surprised how good this restaurant is. In general I think Bay Area Chinese food sucks…read morecompared to SoCal and I often drive down to SoCal just because I miss more authentic Chinese food there. However I can honestly say this restaurant is just as good as the best Hunan/Sichuan food from the San Gabriel area. This used to be a different Sichuan dry pot restaurant that was so so and I really haven't gone back since the new one opened up. The name is also really misleading because many Taiwanese restaurant use Grandma as the name. As a foodie this restaurant is legit. It's in a small plaza shared with another Taiwanese restaurant so parking can be difficult but there are plenty of street parking right next to the restaurant. The interior is clean and well organized. The service is prompt and good enough. They ask for reviews but didn't promise some freebie for a semi fake 5 star review which is great. I never leave a good review just for a freebie because my integrity is way more expensive than freebies. The food is phenomenal and authentic in every way. The frogs are tender and the spices are not overwhelming and brings out the flavor of the frog meat just right. The cured pork (pig face meat) is very rare in the states. It's also cured properly to give the authentic hunan flavor. They also mix it with raddish slices which is also rare in most Chinese restaurants here in the states. Even the conch with bamboo shots surprised me in how thin the slices of the conches are. It's also flavored without being too spicy nor too salty. Everything is on point. I do wish they used better white rice but that alone is not enough for me to take off any stars. This is just a wonderful restaurant that's on par with my favorite hunan restaurant in San Gabriel and I'm so glad I found it because I'm sure going to go back every week now.
