Cane here as a friend recs for Taiwanese food. Very small space with an outdated layout but the food tho This was my first time trying traditional Taiwanese food and it did not disappoint. Such a hidden gems. It actually gets busy pretty quickly due to how small the place is. Definitely coming back.

Solid Taiwanese food in a casual, homey setting. We ordered the clay pot braised tofu (so delicious, with fresh basil), lu rou fan pork rice (yuuuuummy!), pork belly (pretty good), pineapple and winter melon soup (light and refreshing), sizzling black pepper beef (well-flavored but the beef was a bit tendon-y) Service was kind and efficient, without much pretense. Everything felt quite authentic!

Recently ordered takeout again and got some of our favorites - fried rice with Taiwanese sausage and tofu with salted egg - as well as a new dish - 3 cup salmon. The former were just as good as I remembered. While the 3 cup sauce was as expected, the salmon tasted a bit fishy if I'm honest, so I don't think I would get their salmon dishes in the future.

Highlights: * Will definitely be back * Authentic flavor, tasty * No frills ambiance but they make up for it with the food Food: Overall, it was yummy while not having a salty aftertaste. * Three cup salmon * Stir fried chicken in kang kung satay sauce The chicken satay goes well with rice, tho if you do takeout, try it with macaroni for a low key Asian Fusion.

Sparkling diamond in the midst of us. I must say growing up in Taichung City, this wonderful restaurant brings authenticity to the highest rung. Splendid little spot, simple ambience with amazing food with the servers always keeping an eye on every table and every glass and every need, constantly running towards you when your water runs low. The 3 cup chicken absolutely heavenly fantastic., sizzling beef with pepper is a close second with the silk squash neck and neck fantastic tender, and tasteful. Such an adventure we had and return we will.

This place had a lot of ratings on Yelp so I wanted to check it out but honestly it disappointed me a lot. The food came out really fast and my favorite was the Three Cup Chicken but all in all it was very mid. The noodles are extremely oily and the flavor wasn't enough. I asked for chili oil/sauce and they gave me something that didn't even have any spice to it. To be quite honest, I think there's better in Cupertino and I wouldn't comeback again.

What a hidden gem! This was one of my friends favorite comfort place and we decided to come here for her birthday. It's mainly bench seating so it's a great place to come with friends or a big group. We came on a Friday night and it was PACKED! The food did not disappoint. I will say the chili lamb, green beans and shrimp cake were the best. There's also a discount if you pay with cash.

Yummy Taiwanese food! I think this location is better than the one in Palo Alto but it's been a minute since I've been to the PA one. Got the pineapple bitter melon soup which was tasty and cleansing. I wish they didn't have small ginger chunks throughout the soup though. Three cup chicken, a staple of course. Black bean clams were good but there weren't a ton of clams and they were soooo small. A Choy with garlic was bomb. Would be back to try some other stuff!

One of our favorite restaurants in South Bay! They don't have normal tables with chairs but rather with benches so the ambiance here is very casual. Service: 4/5 Only 1 lady waiting the entire restaurant so it was difficult to flag her down but didn't have to wait too long for her service. Food: 5/5 We usually get: Tofu with salted duck eggs - Perfectly seasoned and the tofu absorbed the flavor so well. Salt and pepper cuttlefish - I loveeee the perfect amount of saltiness and pepper-iness in this dish. Just wished there were a bit more cuttlefish than veggies. Chicken with eggplant - Much more chicken than eggplant. Flavor is very light in this dish but it still tasted SO delicious.

Very homey dishes, reminds me of home cooked meals you can't get at mainstream restaurants or anywhere else. I would highly recommend coming and eating family style to try out a lot of their dishes! Favorites seem to be the house special with ground pork and egg, though - which I can guarantee its quality. They also have a great selection of beer - which was also refreshing. I will note the parking space is a bit limited, but there's street parking available. Everything we got was delicious! Would come again.

Unfamiliar with the area, this was a random pick for lunch. It featured Taiwanese food and so it sounded very appealing. Unlike a typical restaurant with tables and chairs, this was picnic table like seating--a good way to maximize patrons. Every table was occupied. The service was fast, ordering was easy and the food was served quickly. We ordered bitter melon with salted egg, three cup mushrooms and bamboo shoots and chicken fried noodles. And the flavors were amazing...the bitter melon was especially tasty and I enjoyed it very much. If you are craving Taiwanese food, you need to check this place out. I will definitely be returning.

Really delicious authentic Taiwanese food! I went with a party of four and we were seated immediately. The server was very nice and helped us take photos. The food was soo good and comforting. Definitely recommend!

One thing that is surprisingly difficult to find on the east coast (even New York) is authentic good Taiwanese food that serves classic dishes cooked homestyle. I have yet to really find any in New York. During my trip to the Bay Area, my friend who is also Taiwanese showed me this place. She said it's one of her favorite Taiwanese place. Honestly it's the best Taiwanese food place I've had in America. I'm amazed not only by how delicious the dishes were but also the menu selection featuring many classic Taiwanese dish that is difficult to find anywhere else. For example, the stir fried clams with sponge gourds 絲瓜蛤蜊 - always has a special place in my heart. The lady was so nice and the food came out pretty quickly. We were starving so we got plenty of dishes to share. - stir fried clams with gourds - braised tofu with ground pork - classic braised pork rice - salt and pepper crispy cuttlefish Again, everything was SO GOOD. For a moment I thought I had transported back to Taiwan. The portion sizes are also quite generous. We had left over food we took home for another meal. If I'm ever back in the Bay Area anytime soon, this will be a place I will not want to miss!

The new location is now next to Starbucks instead of the other end of the plaza. The place is clean but slightly smaller. They also changed their menu slightly and they are definitely competing with Duan Chun Zhen across the street. They both offer beef noodle soup so I'll mostly commenting on the difference. Liang definitely gives you more beef (meat, tendon, tripe) but it's also about 50% more expensive. They also added Chinese sauerkraut which makes the soup base very different. I personally prefer the 13 spices used in Duan. The noodles are also different. The texture of Duan is more consistent but Liang feels more handmade. Overall I'd prefer Duan over Liang but Liang has more choices such as beef pancake. In other words if you just want noodles Duan is a better choice but if you want more types of food this is an ok choice. There are also more choices for tea here. Soup was quite good with real seaweed - not the dehydrated stuff in some Japanese restaurants. Surprisingly the food was delicious! The ma po tofu was very authentic. There's schezwan peppers or Mala in it but it was not overpowering that it numbs your tastebuds! The tofu was soft and silky. The beef had good flavor and balanced the meal out. Beef was tender. Overall we enjoyed our meal. Will definitely come back to try other dishes on the menu If you're not familiar with traditional Chinese entrees the menu can be quite daunting and a turn off. They definitely utilize all animal parts!
