Delicious food! We ordered too much food. Frog, fish soup, pork belly, braised beef, steamed egg, liver, pork mushroom dish, vegetables. The portions were big. A lot of their items are spicy or slightly spicy. Some of the items they said they can't take out the spice for you. The service was good, there's lots of servers all around. The food came out pretty fast too. It's hard to pick my favorite dish because all of them were so good.

My husband and I have been wanting to check out Ping's Bistro. We enjoyed the whole experience from the vibe of the restaurant, efficient and nice staff to the delicious food. Our mushroom dish had a good wok flavor. Pork ribs - crispy and not oily. The rose jelly dessert refresh. We definitely want to try other dishes.

We came here for mother's day, it was our first time trying it. The place always looks busy when we drive by it so wanted to try. We were pleased with all the food we tried, they also give you a big portion. Everything was yummy.

***MANDATORY 18% service change*** Nice of them to inform you that there's no need to tip since it's already included prior to paying haha. ***immediately speaks Mandarin*** OVERALL: Ping's Bistro has rarely disappointed me. From their first location at Pacific Commons to three others and now this, their dishes are absolutely spectacular and unique (aka tastes AMAZING and the flavor profile is rarely experienced elsewhere). Yea, this place is the priciest out of all of them BUT seriously it's worth it. They are highly known for their smoked ham and mushroom fried rice but I can never see myself paying $28.99 for fried rice... ORDERED: Lemon grass fish - it's dry, crisp and simply amazing - layer of mixed spices and chili - provides 2 lime slices - almost like Thai lemon fish - moist filets (fish is cut in half so there are bones, fyi!) - some may find this to be salty and lots of rice is needed but I thought it was just right Chinese flowering cabbage - it's unique so may be an acquired taste - simply stir fried with lots of fresh crisp garlic and dried chilis (+oil, sesame oil, shoyu, etc) - no adjustments in spices was simply very mildly spicy Bowl of rice - their rice is somehow always absolutely well steamed... nice bite and nice chew SERVICE: Order via QR code provided on table (website can also be found online through googling their name). Payment via tablet. At least 3 different servers were seen walking around. Strange how they don't ask if you want hot tea or water as with other locations. Doesn't pour water since they already provide a pre-set "vase" of lemon mint water. However, it's nice how when you ask for hot water, they give you a teapot and don't charge you extra ***so bring your own tea leaves/bag haha*** AMBIANCE: Casual dining with a sprinkle of upscale fine dining vibes (due to decor, plates and COST). Many here to hang with friends and have a conversation. A few lone diners who miss the taste of home, as well. Cycles/turnaround fairly quickly. Diners are typically young Chinese. Moderately loud with all conversations in Mandarin haha. Good for large groups as not possible to adjust the 18% service fee (it's the same for 1 person and 10+ individuals). Restrooms are crazy clean and they utilize all Trader Joe products (brownie points!!). Located in a nearly deserted plaza. Has their own private parking lot...***HOWEVER IT IS slightly frustrating that each lot is separated by establishments; THEREFORE, watch where you are parking as you may be towed... THIS LOT IS EQUALLY STRANGE BEING CALLED AS "TAIWAN BISTRO"*** If you drive from a certain direction, the restaurant sign isn't obvious as it's not on the building itself. Would I come back? Heck yes.

Favorite dishes were the fried rice, the beef roll with mint and the beef with pickled mustard! Fried rice is flavorful and so much packed into every bite. The beef rolls with mint are refreshing and fragrant. The beef with pickled mustard is sour, gingery and paired so well with the bell peppers. Food tastes authentic and the spice is amazing. Must try if you like Szechuan spice. Best Chinese food I've had in the Bay Area so far. Would warn that if you are not used to this type of Chinese spice, or spiciness in general be aware. They can't make some of their dishes entirely no spice but only to lessen it. Came here on a Sunday evening at the end of long waitlist but the line moved quickly and we were seated in no time! Inside the restaurant was packed, for good reason. Immediately could smell the delicious fragrances from the food. Food came out quickly and we had a great experience.

Always find it funny to see that my favorite Chinese places have less than 4 stars on Yelp. I dont know who's giving this place 3 stars or less but y'all need to check your palate. Doesn't matter though b/c the Chinese people know its good and its always busy here :). Ping Bistro does Yunnan and Szechuan dishes and does both impeccably. Portions are generous and everything here ive had tastes delicious but also different from each other, which is my pet peeve for some of the Chinese chains that use the same seasoning packet for every soup or dish on their menu. Its wierd that Yelpers recommend the beef rolls cause they are one of the most meh items imo on the menu. Love the pork belly, the stir friend teo chow noodles is mindblowing, many of the dry pots and any of the pots and stir fries with mushrooms are highly recommended. Yunnan dishes are known for their mushrooms and everything is decently spicy so if you can't handle spice beware. I personally dont love the szechuan spice mix so prefer the Yunnan and other dishes vs the szechuan ones

This place always has a huge line! We ordered the Dai-style lemongrass grilled fish (傣味香茅烤鱼) -- the seasoning was incredible, super aromatic, and I ended up eating so much rice with it haha. The fish was really fresh and flavorful too. We also got the stir-fried mixed mushrooms (三种菌菇炒在一起) -- loved the wok hei, such a satisfying dish. The only miss for me was the lychee yangmei drink (荔枝杨梅饮料) -- sounded good but a bit disappointing Overall though, I definitely want to come back to try the white tiger palm stir-fried butter snail (白虎掌炝爆黄油螺片) and the mint beef (薄荷牛肉) next time!

The line was out the door at 5:40pm for weekend dinner. It took about 45 minutes from waitlist until the first dish arrived. As your party gets closer to being seated, they will take your order first so there is minimal wait time. The standout dish was the cauliflower with pork crackling. The smokiness from the slight char of the cauliflower and umami from the pork made this dish my absolute favorite. It was incredibly delicious that I could have finished the cauliflower by myself. The next standout dish was the lemongrass grilled whole fish. It was nice they were able to adjust the spiciness level to mild because the peppers infused in the marinade carry quite the kick. The beef roll with mint was a good cold appetizer that packed a nice garlic flavor. The pork belly with mushrooms was not my favorite as the pork belly wasn't fork tender.

Currently one of the better Chinese restaurants in South Bay, with Yunnan food specialty. Wide selection and efficient / nice service. Gets super crowded fast especially on the weekends. Really enjoy the clay pot rice, fungi soup, bullfrog, knuckles, etc. Lots of group gatherings, family friendly

This restaurant have friendly staff but the menu name and the yelp is off... They have great front seating set up with auto sign in and quick table turn around. Here is my scoring card for this restaurant: 1) Location: ( 5 Point ) - Great location for customer to see and find. Great parking for street parking and back side with parking lot parking. 2) Decoration : (2 Point) - They still have the original decoration. Clean and nice from the remodel. 3) Price: ( 4 point)- The price is competitive but still a little bit pricey compare to other same stars and type food they serve 4) Quality and Taste : ( 3 point)- The quality is ok, food taste is good and portions are average . ( must be inflation ) 5) Type of cuisine standard : ( 4 point) - The style of Chinese food they serve is pretty close to the way it was prepare in China. Not bad! But some dishes did have slightly modify to cater the customer's need Overall it's not bad and I thinks it's great to give it a try and let me know what you think. Go foodies Total max is 25 Score 18 Stars = 72% round up to 3 stars

I had a very average experience here. It didn't start so great. My family and extended family chose to come to Ping's Bistro, only to find out there was a 30-40 minute wait for our party of seven. The lobby was crowded, so most of my family opted to go shopping nearby to kill time. I was left to wait for our table to be ready. It didn't help that it was nearly 90 degrees outside, as I witnessed a waiting customer suddenly faint in the waiting area. Thankfully, the workers at the restaurant were swift and attentive to ensure the health and safety of the customer, giving her water, a chair, and escorting her safely out of the restaurant. The professionalism under pressure from the staff was outstanding. After the long wait, we were finally seated. Besides the vegetables and the pork buns, I did not find the meal very impressive. Considering the high price point, I was expecting to get wowed by all the dishes. The food was overall decent, with very impressive pork buns and vegetables, but it was average for the amount they were charging us. Overall, I'm appreciative of Ping's Bistro for hosting our family dinner. My family did enjoy the food, and the staff were attentive to our needs the entire time. However, I do not feel comfortable giving this place any higher than 3 stars due to the waiting problem as well as the high price point. As summer is coming and the days will only get hotter, Ping's Bistro staff has to implement a solution to address the long wait times for the well-being of their customers.

banger food. this restaurant deserves 6 stars! yunnan cuisine has been on the rise recently, as several establishments of similar style have been popping up around the bay. i'm favoriting this spot since it's the most accessible for me personally hehe. every single dish that we ordered was incredibly scrumptious with immense flavor and garlic galore. if i had to pick which were my absolute favs, i'd go with the grilled fish with lemongrass and sautéed 4 mushrooms, as these are yunnan specialty dishes. btw, the portions are huge!! even the bowl of rice was quite generous LOL. there's so much more on the menu that we haven't tried yet, but we will absolutely return soon to tackle the rest of it :)

Prices have been going up over the years where only the monthly special is enticing for the value. Servers were friendly and checked in on us, but it took 25 minutes for our food to show up at our table after we ordered. The only consistent experience I've had are the oranges at the end of the meal. They are always amazingly sweet, juicy, and comes off the peel easily. The staff were incredibly slow given how empty the restaurant was. One member in our party had trouble ordering on the app. We also had a very long wait when we asked for to go boxes for our leftovers and when we asked to pay the check. In fact, my friend ended up eating the rest of his food because it took so long to get a box for leftovers. I ordered the boneless yellow braised chicken rice mild- the chicken came with skin on and jalapeños and a side bowl of rice. The food was simple and tasty. Overall, I would only go back if I were in the area and had a lot of time to wait/ wasn't in a hurry. The food was tasty and hearty and came out relatively quickly. The service was slow and we saw multiple staff members waiting around when we were trying to pay our check so we could leave and bike home before it got too dark. We tried requesting wait staff through the app, since they didn't come over when we waved- but that was also not successful. And after waiting for 10+ minutes we were able to get the check to pay. The food was good and I wouldn't be opposed to getting food or eating here again. I just wouldn't come here if I were short on time or in a rush. The lady told us that the sauce on the inside was salty and that's why they don't give extra and man was she right. 1/5* The beef noodles soup itself flavor wise was good and portion wise it was good for $21, but my noodles had no chew to them at all. I was attempting to pick them up with chopsticks and they would just break into pieces. They do give a decent amount of beef though in this. 2.5/5* for the flavor but don't expect much from the noodles. Same thing went for the works, it was a peanut buttery sauce that the lady claimed wasn't spicy, but my parents noticed that it had a kick to it even though they asked for it not to be spicy. The egg is a nice touch but not too sure if it's worth the price. Noodle consistency was the same as the beef noodle soup. 2.5/5*

The name is also really misleading because many Taiwanese restaurant use Grandma as the name. As a foodie this restaurant is legit. It's in a small plaza shared with another Taiwanese restaurant so parking can be difficult but there are plenty of street parking right next to the restaurant. The interior is clean and well organized. The service is prompt and good enough. They ask for reviews but didn't promise some freebie for a semi fake 5 star review which is great. I never leave a good review just for a freebie because my integrity is way more expensive than freebies. The food is phenomenal and authentic in every way. The frogs are tender and the spices are not overwhelming and brings out the flavor of the frog meat just right. The cured pork (pig face meat) is very rare in the states. It's also cured properly to give the authentic hunan flavor. They also mix it with raddish slices which is also rare in most Chinese restaurants here in the states. Even the conch with bamboo shots surprised me in how thin the slices of the conches are. It's also flavored without being too spicy nor too salty. Everything is on point. I do wish they used better white rice but that alone is not enough for me to take off any stars. This is just a wonderful restaurant that's on par with my favorite hunan restaurant in San Gabriel and I'm so glad I found it because I'm sure going to go back every week now.
