We arrived around 6:15 and waited an hour to be seated. Service was fast. Beef noodle soup: 4/5 tasty with a bit of a kick. The kids liked the texture of the noodles. Garlic eggplant: 3/5 garlic overload. The others in my party enjoyed this but it was too much for me. Dumplings: 4/5 basic dumplings Duck: 5/5 this was definitely the star of the show. Tasty! And I loved the crispy skin. We were able to order two half orders. Chicken: 3/5 this was ok, daughter enjoyed it. Intestines: I didn't like the taste but hubby liked it. My boyfriend took me to Changsha Rice Noodles - mainly for their roast duck, but also for their rice noodles (obviously). The restaurant is located in a little plaza tucked away in Cupertino. The English signage reads "Jade Tea BBQ," so not exactly the same as the name advertised on Yelp. A green flag for me was seeing all the roast ducks lined in a row and hanging near the butcher station. Waitstaff are primarily Mandarin-speaking but can pass by with conversational English. Menu ordering is done online, and the waitstaff hand you a receipt to take to the front for payment. We got half a roast duck ($15 dine-in special, limit 2 per table), braised beef rice noodle soup, and soy sauce chicken rice noodle soup. First off, the duck. What I loved was that the duck was not too fatty. The meat was so juicy and so sweet. Both rice noodle soup bowls we ordered were delicious as well. Really good meat-to-noodle ratio. Both came with a side of mustard greens that gave the soup a spicy kick. Best part was taking home leftovers to enjoy the next day. Would 100% go again. Came here with my mom and totally fell in love with the food. We ordered the roast duck, beef skewers, green beans, and beef rice noodles. Although all were delicious, the duck was the best dish. It was juicy and fall off the bone. Beef skewers had a smoky taste and with cumin. Rice noodles were the perfect chewiness. We did have to wait around 20 minutes to be seated since it was so busy, but it was worth it. The food came out really quickly after we placed our order. The signage for the restaurant in english (for those like me,who cannot read Chinese) is Jade Tea BBQ. From what I've been told Changsha Rice Noodle is what is displayed in the Chinese characters for the sign. Now after getting the confusion out of the way about the venue name, there's no confusion about why this spot is popular and known for their BBQ items, especially their roast duck. There's a weekday dine-in special price of $15 for half a roast duck. This is what we ordered, and added a bowl of rice ($2) and some eggplant with green bean spicy rice noodles. Everything we had was delicious, authentic, and nicely made. The roast duck really was impressive. Crispy skin, cooked just right and moist with flavor and that five-spice umami fragrance - as well as not tasting heavy or overly oily. Highly recommended. The eggplant and green bean noodles went really well with the roast duck, but is also a good stand-alone noodle dish too (especially for vegetarians). The spaghetti shaped rice noodles were a perfect texture and had a soft bounce without being under nor overcooked. Flavors were really nicely layered and not overpowereing in either umami or spice levels for this regional dish. My friend and I were both very impressed and will definitely return the next time we're in the area. This restaurant is across from the Apple campus in Cupertino and in a sizable shopping/dining lot with 99 Ranch Market, Sheng Kee bakery, and over a handful of other food, snack, dessert, and boba tea shops. There's 2 entrances and sections. One entrance faces the inner shopping courtyard and 99 Ranch market grocery store and it opens up into their finer dining section, which can be arranged for private events and accommodate a small wedding party. The second entrance is the main one, which faces the 2 story parking lot and opens up into their casual dining section (has booth and regular table seating with bbq meats hanging on the rack). Came by for dinner the other night and it was a tasty experience. Parking was available in the private strip mall lot or garage. Dining is indoors exclusively. Front of the house waitstaff wore a uniform t-shirt and some wore gloves. Changsha Rice Noodles is slightly misleading as the name on the door says Jade Garden BBQ. Ordering is via QR at the table and requires a telephone number and text message one-time-passcode. Opted for the $15 half Cantonese roast duck weekday dine-in special and it was phenomenal. Unlike typical roast duck that is cold with soggy skin, this one took a good 15-20 minutes for it to come out. The skin was crispy and the meat was juicy. As other Yelpers have mentioned, this is quite rare in this area. The sauce was extremely flavorful. They had a $5.99 3 piece grilled oyster special which was also fantastic. The oysters had a fantastic charcoal fragrance and was topped with a ton of garlic. The garlic string beans were pricier at $17.99 and came as a generous portion. This is at the back of Jade Xiang Yue and also offers Hunan and Cantonese cuisines which seems like an odd couple. The sign on the outside is confusing. It is Changsha Rice Noodle in Chinese but Jade Tea BBQ in English. The ambiance is pleasant, bright, and comfortable. Their roast duck is on special and only $15 for half a duck which is a great deal. Since the two of us were not very hungry, we only ordered half a duck and a bowl of Spicy Beef Rice Noodle. I think the menu (via QR code) says that the duck could be a 30 minute wait, but our food came out within 20 minutes. The roast duck was excellent, probably the best in the Bay Area. It was definitely 5-star caliber. The skin was crispy and thin and without a thick layer of fat underneath which is quite common for roast duck. The meat was thick, moist, and tasty. The rice noodle had good texture and very savory soup base. Unfortunately the spicy beef was not like regular braised beef but kinda like beef jerky. It was thin and kinda dry. The variety of food they offer is rather interesting. The only Cantonese items are the BBQ meats, chow fun, chow mein, and fried rice. I suppose the other dishes are Hunan style. They off crawfish, skewers, appetizers, stir fries, desserts, etc. I took a peek into their kitchen and saw a lot of ducks hanging. I was a little skeptical about the amazing reviews but wow they were right - this was the best Cantonese roast duck I've had in the Bay area. Tenderness and flavor are on point. I also love stir fried pork and green pepper - it's one of my fav Chinese comfort foods - and this did not disappoint. It's spicier than I normally prefer but the flavors and wok hei are perfect. 4.5 stars I've been wanting to try this place, especially after figuring out that Chang Sha rice noodles (長沙米粉）shares the same kitchen (&owners?) with Jade Xiang Yue (湘粤情). A friend and I went for an early lunch to beat the crowd. Shortly after they open, we were the first ones getting seated. The place hadn't changed much, In general casual and pleasant. Using the QR code we ordered the famous $15 half duck which amazingly is offered for eat-in every day. In addition we tried the beef rice noodles, baked oysters and shrimps. Every dish was well executed, the duck was juicy, tender and flavorful, excellent indeed. Enjoyed the chewy texture of the rice noodles as well as the two seafood dishes. I'm a bit cowardly when comes to spicy food, everything besides the duck have some levels of spiciness which is a little restrictive for me. I'm however impressed with the quality of the ingredients and uniqueness of flavors Price is reasonable, service is efficient and adequate. I have been here many times and have tried a variety of different dishes. My favorite noodle dish is the Pickled Long Beans with Minced Pork for its cohesive flavorful profile - an el detente bouncy chewiness from the noodles, a fun crunch and slight sourness from the pickled beans, zesty spice from the chilis, with soy sauce and umami flavors from the pork to balance it out so that every bite is perfect. At no point does it become too heavy, it's delicious and feels filling but refreshing. My second favorite noodle would be the Crispy Pork Belly. The skin is perfectly crispy and juicy, it's amazing. Though the meat itself can lean dry/chewy, once you mix the noodles, the sauce coats the meat and you have another umami bite filled with a fun crunch from the pickled root and pork skin. It appears to be bland at first, but once mixed, the dish levels up to a savory and homey bowl of noodles with the pickled root to cut through the heaviness. To tie my second noodle dish, the Walnut Pork Ribs. This is an amazing innovation, I couldn't stop gawking at it whenever I took a bite. I'm not a big fan of walnuts, but these walnuts taste like they've been caramelized in soy sauce and brown sugar, and the slight sweetness coating the pork ribs surprisingly enhances the umami flavors. Love this dish as well! If you like cumin dry rub on your barbecue, definitely try the grilled meats. They are grilled to order and come out sizzling and hot with that typical grilled flavor. The grilled oysters are my husband's go to appetizer, again, it comes out very fresh and hot. The roast duck came out with the perfect crispy skin and tender meat, and honestly I have not tried anything yet that doesn't meet the standard of the other dishes. There is always seating available since I tend to go later at night, and food service is so quick. It's not a fancy place, but the ambience is chill. Just go to eat some good food and catch up with friends. You scan the QR code to order so no time wasted flagging a waiter down. My heart was broken when the old Joy Lucky Bistro closed down, where I used to be able to get cheap eats that included all the Cantonese barbecue items. I saw that this place was open and it was under Jade Tea but I couldn't find any reviews on it because I just found out that it used to be Jade Tea, and the sign is still up but now it's Changsha Rice Noodles. I was craving duck today and so I went by myself and ordered the half roasted duck and the oysters. OMG, the duck was PERFECT! The skin was perfectly crisped, the meat was tender and juicy, and they put enough duck juice on the plate for the duck pieces to sit on (I hate when the restaurant so skimpy on the juice!). The oysters were delicious! Can't go wrong with garlic over oyster! I ordered the three-piece and wished I had ordered a six piece instead! I live only five minutes from the restaurant and will definitely come back over and over again! So happy to have this restaurant here! read more

So slippery and chewy in texture; perfect vesicle for picking up their flavorful broths and: or dry options. Gotta get the spicy braised beef, mala beef (if you like spicier), and chicken zha jiang (umami flavor bomb). Changsha has everything I look for in a casual dining spot. It's unpretentious, has good-enough service, and excellent food for great value. The must try items are roast duck and roast pork. The chow mein noodles were a tad salty but would still get again. Most of their noodle bowls offer a choice of regular noodles or rice noodles; we prefer the regular noodles despite rice noodles being part of the restaurant's name. The duck was SO juicy, skin was very crispy. The beef rice noodle which has one 'chili' sign but was only mildly spicy and left a tingling sensation on the lips due to the spicy peppercorn oil. The rice noodle was very smooth. The restaurant was remodeled and now it is very spacey. Service was timely and attentive although we had to order using QR code. Discovered this place a few nights ago. It's great that they have roast duck late at night. Food felt very nostalgic.

TLDR: Great BBQ, reminds me of YaoYao It's a bit odd that a Changsha restaurant has good HK-style BBQ. But I guess it's because they share the same kitchen as Jade Tea Garden, which is next door. This place is supposed to be a more casual affair. Prices certainly aren't. Just the 2 of us and we paid $90 for 2 BBQ noodle dishes, a BBQ plate and a veggie. A bit pricey.... I really liked their Char Siu... too bad when we got there, it was almost out. So they substituted half with roast pork. Anyway, the char siu reminds me of the ones at Yao Yao. My wife thinks they're even better. Hard to say, since I feel like I got the dregs, so to speak. But they were still tasty. Just... a bit too fatty for my tastes. My wife really liked her roast duck rice noodle. Her only complaint was that there wasn't nearly enough soup. But that was resolved pretty easily by asking for more soup. After that, she was as happy as a clam in mud. I really liked the cauliflower bowl. It was sauteed with a lot of taste, had a great smoky charred flavor. For a Sunday evening parking was pretty busy but there's a parking garage right across from it. We got a table for 5. We ordered 2 bowls of their beef and rice noddle soup (so good), beef and lamb skewers (I loved the seasoning, quite spicy), roasted duck (very crispy), and dumplings. I guess they are part of Jade Tea Garden or share a space. I found this spot and their online hours state that they close at midnight and it was only around 10 PM at the time. I ordered through the 39miles platform, which is stated as preferred by the business. I ordered their Roast Duck Rice Noodles and it stated the order was in process on the ordering platform. I waited about 20-25 minutes and headed over to find everything either closed or starting to close in the plaza, I walked towards the restaurant and it was completely dark - I peeked inside and it was completely empty. At this point, I gave up and left. I was glad I did not pay yet, but it still sucked that this happened. It took me so long to find food that sounded good in the area that was still opened. Overall, maybe their hours were not properly changed or they just closed early on certain days / the day I visited, but I do not know for certain because there was no one around to ask - still a waste of time though. read more
