    Spicy Beef Mixed Noodles/Rice
    Kevin L.

Located in Cupertino, parking is difficult to find. They were pretty busy but was able to accommodate a group of 15 with a very last minute reservation. Most of us were able to sit together which was nice too. Spicy beef mixed noodles (4/5): oh man the flavor really hit with this one. The first bite and my mouth was on fire. The meat was soft and tender and noodles were good too. Overall, Special Noodle has some delicious food and is good for large groups. They can get pretty busy so it's good to make a reservation.

Soup Pan Fried Dumplings $14.49 & Cheesy Fried Shrimp Balls $11.49

A-okay! We ordered for pick up and enjoyed every dish. Service was quick and courteous. Our order... Cheesy Fried Shrimp Balls $11.49: Good and crispy :). I had these for the first time at Haidilao and LOVED them. These were okay in comparison. Snowflake Pan Fried Dumpling $13.99: I've been craving these since Culinary Class Wars S1 E1. These did not disappoint. Pan Fried Soup Buns $14.49: I like the hype. Crisp bottom, nicely cooked wrapper, and juicy filling. Beef Wrap $14.49: not too oily, flavor was great, right up my alley. Braised Pork Belly Mixed Noodles $18.49- I opted for the braised pork. It's easy to make at home, but this hit the spot. I've been craving it. Having it over noodles was a nice, new change too. Pork was tender and flavor was right. Spicy Beef Noodle Soup $16.49- Tasted as it should, nothing too stand out. It tastes like many other beef noodle dishes at other restaurants. Seems expensive for some dishes, food wasn't bad though.

one of my go-to spots! i looove their pan fried baos-- the dough is the star of the show! another favorite of mine is the lamb noodle pot with sichuan peppers-- SUPER ma-numbing! service here can need to be flagged down, but is otherwise friendly and helpful! the interior is clean and bright and not overly busy or cramped, highly recommend!

Amazing! The soup dumplings and snowflake dumplings are both so juicy and flavorful. Really great pricing as well for such quality. Along with the eggplant string beans to balance out the meal. I've tried one other place in the Cupertino area in the neighboring city to Special Noodle and I'd say this one is better. The staff is also very welcoming and kind. I will definitely be returning and excited to try other items on the menu.

Impulsive stop in on the way up to SF. Solid options with the spicy pan fried pork bun being my personal fav. Only two of us so we couldn't order as much as we wanted but definitely would be back

The soup dumplings, pan fried soup buns, and the pan fried snowflake dumplings were all so good and I'd definitely order these three items again the next time I dine here. All were steamed and prepared well and came to our table super fresh and hot. The pieces are decently sized which I enjoyed and filling. I enjoyed each bite into the dumplings which had a good ratio of soup and filling which wasn't skimpy or dried out. I also enjoyed the crispness. On another note, the salt and pepper chicken was cooked well but was overly seasoned and salty--if anything I'd pass up on this or maybe mention to have it lightly seasoned. Service was fast and attentive and there's plenty of seating. The restaurant is clean and has cool lighting decor--you can even see them making and rolling dumplings. I'm definitely a fan of their pan fried items and would come back!

It locates in a mini plaza on the de Anza. Walked in around 6:15pm, able to get seated right away -- free choice by you. And the waiter promptly brought appropriate utensil set. And inside lighting makes feel warm and comfortable. I have been to restaurant more than 5 times, and the rating and review only based on this time personal and choice of food taste bud experience . This time ordered beef noodle soup and leek egg dumplings , both failed. Besides salty, cannot taste much. Every bite needs to go with water , and kid only had some bites with the baby bok choy and half egg-- 80% left over . Surprisingly, this time for food only 2 stars this time. But the waiter was friendly to take the feedback, service was good -- added one star for it.

Highlights: * Good value imo * Good for takeout * Soup pan fried buns were the favorite * They accept Google Pay Food: * Red oil pork wontons * Braised pork belly mixed noodles * Soup pan fried buns Hidden gem / not very visible from the street. Been eating around this area for over two years and didn't know it was there. Also doesn't help there is a "special noodle SOUP" a few miles north on DeAnza. Anyway it was an easy process to pickup takeout. This might be a matter of opinion, but I thought the portion size was pretty good; great value. I'll be back!

Sichuan Pepper Beef Pot Noodle Soup

Sichuan Beef Soup: Love this soup!!! Looks unsuspecting but is very mala (spicy numbing), which is hard to find in the US. The soup is well balanced with greens, protein, and noodles, there's lots of variety in it (fish balls, tofu, fish cake, beef, bokchoy, green onion). Big portion to share and not too pricey. Would recommend if you like spicy numbing flavor. Definitely more numbing than spicy. Eggplant and String beans: decent size portion and great flavor. Cooked well and has the perfect caramelization and sweetness on the outside. Great to contrast with the soup. Tasted as expected for this dish. Previously I have tried their soup dumplings and pan fried soup dumplings and was not particularly a fan. There just weren't as flavorful and tasty to me. However, I would definitely return for their other dishes, like this soup!!! Service was good, pretty empty each time I've gone. The format of the shop allows you to see them making the dumplings from the kitchen. Feels like a traditional Chinese restaurant that I would go to growing up.

Cupertino Chinese food! Do not get this place confused with "Special Noodle Soup" in GPS! They are not the same! I'm no expert but the XLB here are the best I've ever eaten. For reference I've only had them from DTF in Japan and CA, and Chinatown's in NYC and Boston. The orange chicken puts all other orange chickens to shame. They also have orange beef. The salt & pepper chicken is also the best I've had, and I do order that dish at many places. It's also known as popcorn chicken at Taiwanese eateries, there's salt, pepper, and I taste Chinese 5-spice as well. Light and crunchy but not oily. Totally addicting. The service which is what several reviews complained about, is typical for Chinese restaurant. You order from QR code and there's not a lot of interaction with servers until the food starts arriving. If you ever have great service at a Chinese restaurant, then it's probably Americanized Chinese like PF Changs. Be careful with the tip amounts they suggest. I'm used to tipping on the subtotal for the food, and given their lack of service, they should not be getting tipped on the total including tax etc

Came to Special Noodle for a Valentine's Night Out WITH the kids. Tucked away in the corner of a small plaza next to Halal Meats. It has a small parking lot but has ample seating inside. Ordered online with a QR code and everything came out hot and quick. Staff was very attentive and brought us some kids bowls and utensils and water/napkins when needed. They have high chairs and boosters for the young ones. We enjoyed most of our meal. We ordered the pan fried soup dumplings and pork and crab roe soup dumplings which were excellent! The beef wrap was good but not great, with some flaky outside but a bit dry for my liking. The chicken chow mein was good and the kids enjoyed it. We liked the green beans and eggplant but it was a bit too spicy for the young ones. And lastly the Stone Pot Beef Noodle Soup was good but WAYYYY too spicy! I tried to order without the spicy chili oil or numbing spice...but the original was very spicy. So much so my wife and mother-in-law (who handle spice even better than me) couldn't drink the soup and I can handle a bit but just was a sweaty mess (it's ok I usually look like I finished a workout lol). Almost served it to the kids but luckily we didn't. Would recommend to let us know somewhere or at least warn us table side. Overall, the food is good and would likely come back to order some of the food but loses a star as some of the spice was too much.

I took my daughter here for her birthday lunch, and everything we tried was a 10/10. The service was quick, and our server, Loong, was amazing. He made the experience so fun by playing games with us and giving great food recommendations. We will definitely be back! The ambiance could be a bit nicer, but the incredible food and service more than made up for it.

    Pan fried soup dumplings.
    Ashley M.

We checked out special noodle for lunch on a weekday and it was very quiet. We ordered the pan fried soup dumplings, special beef noodle soup (clear broth), green onion pancake and spicy salt and pepper chicken wings. The dumplings came out first and so fast. I was skeptical that they would even be warm bc they came out so fast but they were piping hot. I even burned my tongue a little. The beef noodle soup was delish. It didn't look like much but the broth was flavorful and the noodles had a great chewy texture. Green onion pancake was pretty avg. The salt and pepper chicken wings were very tasty but pricey for the 6 wings that you get.

The salted egg yolk fried chicken wings were awesome. They come out looking super red, but they are not spicy. Great flavor, super good, and very yummy. The cumin lamb was excellent too. It had a little spice, but not too bad, and the lamb was really soft. The mapo tofu with pork was good, but very spicy. The tofu itself was good. The Sichuan high wok was tasty, but it got spicier and spicier the more I ate it, so just be ready for that. Honey walnut shrimp came out very crispy and the sauce was light. The flavor was not too bad, but the shrimp flavor did not come through as much. The Yunnan rice noodle soup with pork and pickled cabbage was good, and the soup itself had nice flavor, but I wish it had more meat. Beef and scallion dumplings were average. Sauteed greens were solid and definitely necessary to balance out the meal. Service was relatively quick, which was nice since we ordered a good amount of food. Everything came out at a good pace, and the meal felt easy overall. Nothing too fancy on the service side, but it got the job done. The inside feels like a big cafeteria. It is fine, but not really a place you go for ambiance. It was also a little hot inside, which made the spicy dishes feel even spicier. Doesn't look customers in the eye, provides minimal service, hell, we had to ask the support staff to bring us chopsticks for food we had delivered to us 10 minutes ago, which grew cold. He never checked in on us, and we were charged 20% gratuity since we were 12 people. I don't mind auto-gratuity, but when the service is nonexistent, it really doesn't sit well. Overall it was a good experience, but the service is the deciding factor of anyone one of us 12 returning. Really unfortunate service from our waiter, other support staff seemed really nice, but he wasn't in charge of taking care of us, sadly. We were thoroughly ignored. Again, food was good, but service was so poor that this review is mainly negative. Edit: to top is off, delivered the wrong food twice, we cancelled our pork belly buns because they took too long/he ordered mala buns for us instead.
