HOME EAT IS SO FREAKING GOOD!!! Get their salted egg yolk chicken wings..this is my go to!!! So delicious..salty..and flavorful!!! The saltiness is so good I don't know how to describe it. You need to try it!!! I've gotten the chance to try all their fried chicken and all of the flavors are great but salted egg yolk is my favorite..their regular chicken kinda tastes like peaking sauce..yum!!! Can't go wrong with any of the fried chicken from here. The chow mein is also very good. You don't need to add soy sauce or hot sauce to the chow mein..it's good on its own..most chow mein is rarely good on its own but this chow mein is bomb as is. Parking can be a little tricky depending on when you go..there's street parking and the restaurant is right below a parking structure. I've been able to find street parking..so I'm unsure how much parking cost in the garage..

A good friend of mine took us here for lunch, and it was a great experience. The environment was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The food tasted fresh, and the portion sizes were generous while still maintaining affordable prices. The star of the show for me was the Honey Walnut Shrimp, super crunchy with the perfect amount of sauce and flavor. I just wish they coated the walnuts with the sauce too. Overall, the food was amazing for the price, and the restaurant itself was clean and roomy. Staff is okay, attentive if you flag them down. It's a perfect sit-down Chinese restaurant if you're looking to bring friends and family.

The food was absolutely delicious and tasted fresh and homemade. Every dish was full of flavor, and you can really tell that a lot of care goes into the cooking. The portions were generous, and everything came out hot and well prepared. I especially loved how comforting and authentic the food tasted. Definitely one of the best places to go when you want a satisfying meal at night.

We've had Home Eat before, but this was our first time visiting this particular location. It's in downtown San Jose, so finding parking can be a bit of a challenge. We were seated right away with a party of six. The menu is pretty extensive, but we already had a good idea of what we wanted. They also have a self-serve sauce bar, which is a nice touch. All of the dishes came out hot, flavorful, and made with fresh ingredients. Service was a little on the slower side; we had to ask for water and utensils a few times.. but overall, everyone enjoyed the meal and the family-style dining experience.

We ordered a few dishes via DD from Home Eat. Was this one of the best taste wise that I have had? Not really, but it was solid and scratched that itch for Chinese food. I would definitely return. Their pricing is a lot better than most places and they give you a lot of food, which is really nice. We had the following: Beef Chow Fun 9/10 - The beef was tender and the flavor was really good. The noodles were thin and wide and had a good chew to them. My personal test on noodle dishes is how good they taste cold the next day and these really hit the spot in regard to leftovers. Honey Walnut Shrimp 4/10 - Somehow the crust around the shrimp tasted stale. It was weird. The shrimp were fresh and the black vein was cleaned out. The walnuts were raw. I prefer when they are slightly toasted. They also weren't sweetened like some places do, but I don't care either way on that. I liked that the sauce wasn't so heavy on the mayo and wasn't overly sweet. All in all it was not one of the better ones I have ever had and probably my least favorite of all the dishes. I wouldn't order this again. Pork & Shrimp Dumpling 7/10 - The dumpling had a nice chew to it but the fillings weren't overly flavorful. They barely give you any sauce with all those dumplings, which kind of sucked. The sauce is really heavy on the rice vinegar but I didn't mind that. They are a solid choice though. Mongolian Beef 6/10 - This smelled fantastic and had great flavor. The beef was a bit on the tough side but that wasn't really a big deal. My biggest problem with this dish is that it was LOADED with onions. There were just way too many onions. A massive amount of onions. If it wasn't for that I would have probably given this a 9 or 10 out of 10. Spicy Pepper Fried Chicken 10/10 - The flavor on these is so good (just writing about them makes me crave them). The spice level was nice. I would have preferred more spice but I also know I tend to like more spice than most people, so I totally understand the level they serve it at. There are peanuts in this one, which are tasty but just a warning to anyone with a peanut allergy. The crust was perfect on this. There were some overly hard pieces of crust in the batch but my dog liked crunching down on those pieces (no chicken, just chunks of crust). I would go back just for these. We also ordered two steamed rice sides and they added a third one to the order for free, which was really nice. And the sides were a good amount of rice. They also included some sort of soup. I don't know what it was. It looked kind of like an egg drop soup but the broth was a slightly cloudy, white-ish broth and there was corn in it. It was a little too sweet for me, but I love the fact that they included an extra item. I think that was really nice. Definitely a solid choice for Chinese food at a more reasonable price than most of the places around here.

I never get tired of this place, great food great service all the time! The kids always enjoy being here aswell

The best cold dishes we've ever had. We had spicy chicken legs, pork ears, numbing beef tripes, and chicken gizzards. These are all amazing.

Visiting San Jose and was craving some hot pot so came here! 90 min free parking in the lot next door. Very clean and modern looking chinese restaurant with tons of options. Order on the QR code on the table and a ROBOT server brings it to you. Ordered grandmas curry wok. Came really quick! Broth was good. Lots of variety in the pot itself, big portion too. Beef was really dry and overcooked before even turning on the fire though. There's also a sauce bar with a pretty good selection. Overall, good price, okay food

Finally found a spot that hits the spot! Home Eat offers authentic, punchy flavors that feel like a home-cooked meal but with professional execution. We tried a few dishes: the Dry Pot Cauliflower had the perfect amount of 'wok hei' and spice, while the Beef with Broccoli and Peppers was incredibly tender and savory. The vegetable stir-fry with pickled greens provided a nice, bright contrast to the meal. Large portions, fresh ingredients, and a cozy atmosphere. Definitely a new favorite!

Late review. I've only been to this place twice and the second time fell too short. Everything my friend and I ordered was too salty (and that says a lot coming from me because I love salty things). We could barely eat without getting mouthfuls of just salt on our tongues so we left everything on the table without taking anything to go. The kitchen was closed so we couldn't bring anything back. I'm not sure what was wrong with the chef(s) this day, but they should be tasting what they're making. Home Eat is too expensive for everything to be salty. As for the salt and pepper fried fish, all you could taste were the onions and bell peppers when you bit into the fish. It was so disappointing as I was really craving their food.

If you are looking for some comforting Chinese food then this is definitely it. I made a large order for pickup to eat at my friends house. I love that they have a large variety of options. I ended up getting the following: General Tso Chicken- This was packed with flavor and not for the simple eaters. Definitely my preferred chicken dish. I also think it was fried which made it that much tastier. I was glad we got it. Shrimp & Ham fried rice- It was pretty good. No complaints and had a good amount of shrimp. Also flavorful and the only thing we finished eating. It was great with all the other meat dishes. Spring beans and eggplant- I am not a veggie fan but this was definitely good and I kept coming back to it. Honey Walnut Shrimp- My least favorite dish unfortunately. It was still good but it was a little over battered and overcooked. The shrimp inside was a little dry. There were lots of candied walnuts on top and flavoring was nice. Egg & Shrimp Chowfun- One of the better chowfuns we've had. It was delicious. Kung Pao Chicken- This was good and the chicken in it was moist. It's a good solid chicken dish if thats what you are looking for. Salt Pepper Fried Fish Fillet- Actually I preferred this less than the honey walnut shrimp. It wasn't bad but there wasn't anything too special about it. Wings- Whoa lots of flavor. I would get this on its own if I could for another time. I highly recommend their wings. We placed the order online and it was ready when we picked up. I like that Home Eat has weekly specials so look out for those. The pricing is great for Chinese food and the portions are a good size. We ended up not finishing most of our dishes and everyone was full and loved it. My friends had plenty of left overs. I highly recommend if you want Chinese food.

PARKING: decent parking, it's around other places so it is in a lot but if it is a busy time it would be pretty hard to try and get a space. PLACE: fairly big, but not too big, would have to combine a few chairs and tables to accommodate to bigger parties, the sauces and everything are already on the table, so are the dishes as well. FOOD: We got the ultra, Tom Yum Tonkotsu & Shiro Miso Soymilk - Tom Yum tasted really good and it paired well with the meat, the Shiro Miso just tasted more like miso soup than actual soy milk mixed in. American Wagyu & Black Angus Beef Toro - I feel like the American Wagyu was a little too fatty for my liking, or it could be the other way around lol, I kind of don't remember which one was which but one had amazing marbling that melted in your mouth. We also got lychee beer, which was super good, didn't even taste like beer. We had like 3 glasses which is funny because we aren't drinkers but it was so delicious. I recommend any of their fruity beers. Edamame - don't really recommend, comes cold and some pieces were not really good.

This was only my second time ever having hot pot, the first time was not AYCE and was an individual pot, so it was fun to try the shared AYCE way. We picked two broths, the Shrimp and signature, and then went down the menu selecting proteins and other add-ons. We went with the Ultra over the supreme so we could get some of the nicer cuts of meats. They have happy hour pricing of a few dollars off earlier in the evening, which was going on when we were in. Non-meat dd-on favorites included the Napa cabbage, kabocha squash, ramen, bok choy, and shitake mushrooms. We got the Enoki mushrooms the first round, but switched to shitake for round two and they were the favorite. My boyfriend's favorite meat was the wagyu, and I was partial to the pork and angus beef, but everything was good.

They updated the place with new tables and different stations offering a variety of fish balls, veggies, tofu, noodles, a drink station, sauce bar, and more that you can choose from. They also have ice cream to end your meal. As for the meats, out of all the choices I'm a fan of their angus marbled beef slices and angus beef slices. The meats are good quality, not frozen, sliced thin, and cooked very fast. I got the tom yum broth and it was flavorful. It was cool that our server was able to accommodate my mom as she wanted the cheesy milk broth since it isn't offered on the AYCE menu. There are vegetables that revolve around a conveyer belt for us to grab. The sauce bar is pretty small and got a bit chaotic. The hot food bar was also pretty small. The quality of the food is good. She efficiently seated and served multiple tables and was appropriately attentive, even offering some spicy drops to add to the soup. We each got our usual order of sumo ribeye and kimchi base soup. This location gave us two soup pots, which is a nice plus. At the Cupertino location, they only give one pot for us to share, and if a broth refill is needed, they refill with the standard water/seaweed broth. We prefer the flavor of the kimchi broth and dipping sauces (ponzu & sesame) at the Cupertino location. The San Jose location felt watered down - we would've been happy to share one pot of broth if it meant a more flavorful soup base and dipping sauces. This location, though, is larger and brighter than the Cupertino location. Their seating arrangement allows for larger groups - they have multiple tables that accommodate 4 (2 burners) and 6 (3 burners). They also have settings for 2 (1 burner). Parking is also more abundant (at least when we came) vs. the Cupertino location.

If you have the money then do a rideshare. The only upside is the hot pot is really good. The meat/veggies are bountiful. You definitely can get full. Like I said about the space and parking, it's small. It's not handicapped friendly unless you sit in the front but that's a tight squeeze. Would I come back here again? If I'm not driving and in the area, I would.

A classic Korean BBQ experience, as well as hot pot if you choose to do so. Like any other Korean…read moreBBQ place, you are given the raw food and cook it yourself, so the quality depends on how you like to prepare it. Servers are very attentive, they come by often enough that you don't feel forgotten, but not too much so it doesn't feel invasive. My only complaint is the spacing and overall setup of the tables. If you have a big party and are next to another full table, chairs will be touching and it can be awkward coordinating people getting up to leave. But outside of that small issue, it is a very fun experience and great service.

Our server, Vu, was inattentive throughout the visit and the service felt rushed and unwelcoming. On top of that, I overheard the way he spoke to other staff members, and it came across as unprofessional and uncomfortable to witness as a customer. The food itself was actually really good, which is the only reason I'm giving more than one star. The quality of the meat and dishes definitely met expectations. However, the overall ambience was negatively affected by the poor service and tense environment at the bar. A good dining experience is about more than just the food, and sadly this visit missed the mark.

I ended up ordering the Thai hot pot and my friend ordered the curry milk. We both got mild spice- which was plenty for me! I also ordered the green tea with grapefruit and my friend got the wintergreen tea- we both asked for less ice and I got less sweetness. We enjoyed our food- it came out quickly once we ordered. The restaurant was bustling - but tables were turning over quickly. There was a busy hum. We enjoyed our food and the staff were busy, but kind and helpful

The people that work at this Boiling Point, although not as bad as the other locations, just don't care. Don't care really to take your order, bring you water, or take your money. I remember when Boiling Point was such an awesome and unique experience. It still is, but it's become much pricier and the staff just aren't hospitable and don't give a sh*t. Boiling point is more of a fast casual place and don't expect any more than that. Food is fine. But they tone the spicy down much more than before. I remember before when they started, medium spicy had a kick. Now, medium spicy doesn't even tingle anymore. Lame.
