I had a great experience at Pho Now. I ordered the brisket and beef ball pho along with the fresh spring rolls. The spring rolls were fresh and delicious, and the dipping sauce was outstanding it really elevated the dish. The pho was excellent, especially with the fresh noodles, which paired perfectly with the flavorful broth. The brisket and beef balls were tender and cooked well. Overall, the food was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. I'll definitely be back to try more items on the menu. Highly recommend!

Tried this place for the first time with my family and found it pretty average overall. Bún thịt tôm nướng: 3.5/5 - Decent but nothing special. Sizzling cơm tấm: Basic and disappointing since they used regular rice instead of broken rice. The hot plate also caused oil to splatter everywhere. I didn't really like having bell peppers on my com tam, it was an interesting take. Nem spring rolls: 3.5/5 - Good, but I've had better. Service was good, but I wasn't impressed enough to come back.

We happen to be the area looking for a spot to eat at after doing errands. I have been wanting to try one of the newer Pho restaurants in South San Jose, Pho Now. We arrived on a late Saturday afternoon for lunch recently. Pho Now is located in a nice large plaza off Capitol Expressway. Lucky grocery store and the popular Cha Cha Sushi is located in the same shopping plaza as well. Parking is accessible in the large parking lot out front. The Vietnamese restaurant has nice modern cultural decor. Colorful fun Asian characters and some Japanese art are present in the front and counter area. It is spacious and clean with plenty of tables for dine in. We ordered 2 shrimp and pork vermicelli and 1 kids bowl with beef balls. Everyone enjoyed their delicious food. Our vermicelli bowls were huge and looked appetizing. The shrimp was juicy while the pork was unfortunately chewy. Noodles were tasty. My son said his kids bowl was yummy and the beef balls were scrumptious. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Pho Now. The staff were nice and accommodating. There was a robot server that brought over cups of water to us which I thought was a nice touch. The price point was in the higher side for Vietnamese food in the area but the dishes are large proportions. The vibe was family friendly and bustling. We hope to be back to try other dishes on the menu.

Solid pho spot in an unassuming strip mall. We were close by and craving some noodles so did a quick yelp review to see what was close by. We thought about going to the east side but we were feeling hungry and decided to give this spot a try. Service was prompt with a cute little robot whose only job was to bring drinks. The servers were great.. Food was super delicious If we are around the area, we'll be back

Pho Now has been on my must try list for a while now. Since I had some pho the other day, I got a vermicelli bowl. I got the combo because I wanted to try the egg rolls. This was a good size portion and everything was fresh. The shrimp were huge! I enjoyed the fun vibe of this restaurant and I had great customer service. Looking forward to going back soon to order a bowl of pho.

Went with my sister and my bestie a few times when this place opened. This style of pho was a bit different than others but I wouldn't say it was less tasty. It was still pretty good. I really like the convenience since it's walking distance from where I live.

Place is amazing! Good portions. The rice plates were phenomenal. The grilled pork was marinated so well. Shrimp was also uniquely cut like a triangle! Would go back to try other items on their menu!!

We were seated and greeted right away upon entering the restaurant. They have an extensive menu. We ordered the Grilled Pork, Shrimp, Egg Over Rice On A Sizzling Platter and the Grilled Pork, Shrimp, Egg Rolls With Vermicelli. The waitress gave us a complimentary appetizer. It consisted of Egg Rolls and a Fresh Shrimp Roll. The Grilled Pork, Shrimp, Egg Over Rice On A Sizzling Platter was still sizzling when it got to our table. The Grilled Pork on both entrees were tender and flavorful. The Grilled Shrimp wasn't overcooked. The Egg Rolls were crispy and crunchy on the outside. The prices were fairly reasonable and they were generous with the portions. We were surprised with the free appetizer. We will definitely be back to try their Pho.

Tried a new pho place for us. Friendly service. Even by the robot delivering your beverages. Very clean establishment. Love the decor. We ordered the beef pho (large) And sizzling rice with pork chop and shrimp. For appetizer: spring rolls. Fresh and tasty! We both enjoyed our dishes. Definitely will return.

Pho Now is hands down our favorite spot for pho in San Jose. I love coming here with my family--it's close to home, super convenient, and always a great experience. The prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality and portion sizes you get. The pho is consistently delicious, with rich, flavorful broth and fresh ingredients every time. It honestly tastes like the best pho in San Jose to us. The atmosphere is welcoming, and it's a perfect place for a casual meal with family. Highly recommend if you're looking for great pho without breaking the bank!

Came here in a Friday night and it's legit. Lively, busy, clean with great service and food. They even have a robot that helps deliver food and drinks to your table. I got the vermicelli and my wife got the pho. Both were so delicious and had big portions. The veggies were fresh and they had all the sauces you need to enhance your dish the way you like it. Don't miss out on this spot!

The kumquat iced tea wasn't for me since it had a strong floral, perfume like aftertaste. The pho dac biet was also okay, the broth had a strong herbal flavorful and aroma that I wasn't a fan of. My favorite were the spring rolls. They were fresh and tasty.

Large #1 with pickled onions and an iced coffee
    Scott S.

I was the first customer here on a Saturday morning right when they opened at 10, and had a great meal. I ordered fewer dishes than I'd normally eat, but that turned out to be a good thing. I had a large #1 with raw onions and a no-milk iced coffee. I'm not sure if the pictures do it justice, but this was almost a comically large bowl. I typically have a big appetite, but this was ridiculous. A mountain of noodles, all the meats, a ton of soup... I have literally never seen such a large bowl of pho besides eating challenges. $19 isn't cheap but for this quantity and quality it's kind of a bargain. And as for quality, this place delivered. Complex and rich broth, perfectly chewy noodles, all the meats and tendon and tripe exactly right. I have no notes other than I didn't quite finish the broth because I just simply ran out of room. Shameful, I know, I hate wasting food but there just wasn't any way I was finishing. Normally I'm against adding condiments like hoisin and ESPECIALLY sriracha to pho as I think it ruins the flavor, but I did experiment with adding a very small (like a teaspoon or less) of fish sauce and I did find that it added a pleasant little something to the broth. Herbs don't count of course, I guess if I was nitpicking they could have been more generous with those. Although it just might be that the bowl is so comically large that it makes a normal amount of herbs seem insufficient by comparison. I had a dining companion who had the #14 Kid Pho with well done brisket, and pronounced it "the best pho ever". And keeping with their portion size, it wasn't that much smaller than what I'd consider a normal adult portion. So I guess one tip is come hungry and under-order because they are not messing around with the portion sizes. When I do come back I'd also like to try a vermicelli bowl and some of the appetizers, they look delicious. Just not combined with the pool of pho, unless I was splitting it. The coffee I had was great, strong and not too sweet. Oh and the service was also very nice, we were quickly seated and they checked on me and my slow-eating companion many times. Inside it's very clean and bright, with high ceilings and music playing. Not a bad place to linger while you attempt to eat 5 lbs of pho.

The mam tom had a strong flavor (as expected), but it was balanced well and tasted authentic. We also ordered the cha ca La Vong, which came out sizzling and fragrant with plenty of dill and turmeric flavor. Mixing it with the noodles, herbs, and peanuts made for a great combination of textures and flavors. Portions were generous, service was friendly, and the food came out pretty quickly even though the restaurant was busy. Despite it being in a big lot, parking still took a while to find. Thankfully, we had thankfully just beat the lunch rush and not had to wait longer than 10 minutes for a table. My friend and I shared a Northern spread (Bun Cha Ha Noi) and a Southern style Goat Curry (Banh Mi Cari De). Service was definitely on the slower side that day, but thankfully we were proactive at getting the orders in. The Bun Cha Ha Noi was delicious - pretty much a DIY spring roll - all the fun, all the mess, with none of the clean up other than licking the plates clean. The pork belly was delicious; I was surprised how much I liked it, since I'm not a fan of pork. I devoured numerous rolls, and we also had some extra vermicelli to finish off the rest of the protein. This single meal was definitely more than enough for two! The Banh Mi Cari De (goat curry) was unfortunately quite the opposite. The goat was cooked very well - tough, gamy, and difficult to eat. There were probably six pieces in total, our first was tender, our second had bone, a little harder to chew, and the last was best compared to rubber. The curry was a bit watery, which made the banh mi soggy when dipped in. This was probably an adventurous try, but not a dish I'd ever consider ordering again.

It's a grilled tumeric fish dish that packs a ton of flavor, and you add noodles and herbs to make a delish spring roll (or in my case a fat burrito). It comes out on a sizzling plate so you have to let it cook a bit to render the onions and dill to get that perfect texture. The sauce might be a bit fishy to some, but it's what ties the bite together! It's def an acquired taste, but if you are open to trying new things, please come try this speciality dish. Tip: on Wednesdays, this dish is only $28, whereas the OG price is around $36. The fried rice here was surprisingly super flavorful! You can taste the separate grains (which is when you know the cook on the rice is good) and the salt levels were top tier. I would come back and get this togo if I was too lazy to create my own food with the spring rolls. Overall, you are here for the food, not the service and decor. If you can't find parking in that plaza, there's more parking across the road where the Target is. After spending about ten minutes on the written wait-list, our names were called. It's definitely a little easier communicating with much of the staff if you speak Vietnamese, and I find that waiting right outside the restaurant is best because they default to calling your name from the door once it's your turn. The interior is crammed with tables; the atmosphere feels busy and warm. There is a single room women's bathroom and men's bathroom in the back as well. The decor leans toward being classic more than trendy, which I liked. The menu is pretty big, offering a variety of items ranging from mainstream Vietnamese options to ones I don't encounter as often. I recommend eating family-style for many of these dishes, including the Bún Chả Cá Lã Vọng, which I enjoyed with my partner. The prices are pretty average, and their portions are generous. That said, they are cash or Zelle only. There is an ATM that you can use if you forget to bring cash, but this is still something to keep in mind. Overall, I can definitely see myself coming back. I wish I had the stomach capacity to try more of their dishes at once, and I 100% recommend that anyone give this place a shot.

The appetizers were all good and definitely satisfied my craving for Hue-style snacks. Unfortunately, the Bun Bo Hue was disappointing. The broth had a strange flavor and was missing the rich, hearty depth that makes Bun Bo Hue so comforting and memorable. I honestly found it surprising that a restaurant specializing in Hue cuisine would miss the mark on one of its most iconic dishes. Another thing I noticed was that the vermicelli noodles were broken into many small pieces, which made me feel like they weren't particularly fresh. It definitely affected the overall eating experience. Before leaving, I also ordered a banh canh to go. That ended up being really good, though I personally wasn't a fan of the fresh-cut noodles. By the time I got home, they had expanded quite a bit in the broth and became softer than I prefer. Overall, I enjoyed everything except the Bun Bo Hue. The appetizers were solid, the banh canh was tasty, and I'd come back for those items. However, the Bun Bo Hue is one dish I probably won't order again.

Plenty of parking spaces in the plaza. I will definitely come back here for everything I tried during my visit and to try more when in the area or on the way back from Santa Cruz. This will also be a great place to grab Togo for picnics or for hiking as well! My kids are already asking to come back to the restaurant after our first time there. So glad to know of another Vietnamese restaurant that has so many yummy dishes in SJ!

The standout dish was the egg rolls. They arrived hot, golden brown, and perfectly crisp, with a satisfying crunch and a flavorful filling that made them the best part of the meal. The food, however, wasn't the reason for my rating. The restaurant's cleanliness left me concerned. I noticed cobwebs that appeared to have been hanging in place for a long time, along with dirt and grime collecting in corners throughout the dining room. Even the menus felt sticky, with a visible film of grease and small food particles still clinging to them. The faded print and worn condition made them look as though they hadn't been replaced in years. Those details created an impression of neglect that made it difficult to relax and enjoy the meal. With a thorough deep cleaning and some updated menus, this restaurant could create a much more welcoming dining experience. Until then, the cleanliness issues overshadow what was otherwise an average meal.
