First time we tried the Wonton Noodle Soup. The egg noodle was just the right choice for this soup. We were told that this is a new menu item that just got added 5 months ago. It was so delicious and packed with wonton dumplings, shrimps, meat, and bokchoy. The Combination Rice Vermicelli has become my favorite. This is a healthy option for everyone since the pork and shrimps are grilled, except the fried egg rolls that taste so good... the fish sauce dressing and the peanuts add more flavor to the entire dish.
Second time here, and the food is still sooo good! I tried the grilled lemongrass chicken for the first time, and it was incredibly juicy and flavorful. The beef pho was as good as always, with an amazing broth. The staff are always friendly and efficient. Such a great neighborhood restaurant, we'll definitely be back more often!
Out of all the pho spots in SJ this would definitely not be my first pick, but it's not a horrible option either. I got the Beef Combination Pho and the broth was on the salty side. The meat looked over cooked but once I ate it it was still soft. They don't give a lot of meat though. Good amount of noodles which I appreciate. All they did was take our orders and give our orders. Had to ask for sauce tray because they forgot. Place is super casual and a good amount of people in a weekday lunch! Overall: 3.8/5
I've been at least 20 times, and i've put my family on Pho Luc Lac too. Fried rice is sometimes absolute fire with perfect wok hei, and sometimes kind of mid, maybe depends on the chef. Pho here is consistently great and the bun bo hue is one of the best in the area. My girlfriend is obsessed with the hue and we go like once a week for it. Service is solid and typically pretty quick. We love seeing the same folks around since it's family owned and we are excited to try their new menu item, the "Pho Luc Lac" which is a darker, umami broth twist on their usual pho. It combines their (also delicious) Bo Luc Lqc marinated Filet dish
Pho Luc Lac on Branham Lane in West San Jose is definitely worth checking out! I stopped by for lunch today and ordered the pho with steak and meatballs, and it was honestly one of the best bowls of pho I've had in a long time. The broth was hot, rich, and full of flavor, and the steak and meatballs were both delicious. Everything tasted fresh, and the portion was very satisfying. You can tell they put care into preparing their food, because every bite was flavorful and enjoyable. I'm really glad I decided to come here for lunch today. The food completely hit the spot, and I left very happy and satisfied. I will definitely be coming back again soon and highly recommend Pho Luc Lac to anyone looking for a delicious and flavorful bowl of pho in West San Jose!
Went here recently on a Sunday and had a wonderful experience from the moment we arrived. Trung was great to interact with. We ordered a large bun Bo hue, a large pho luc lac, fried rice with ribeye cooked medium level (as recommended), Bo luc lac with tomato flavored rice, and a chicken pho ap chao to share amongst 3 adults and 4 kids. Everything we ordered was delicious, tasty, and the portion size were very good and perfect for sharing. I was pleasantly surprised with the pho ap chao, it was really tasty and crispy and a dish I have not tried before. We really enjoyed everything but the Bo luc lac (shaken beef) was super tender and the beef was flavorful! This is a must try in my opinion! This restaurant is clean and tidy and has cute decors of bamboo hats hung from the ceiling and remind me of being back in Vietnam again. Staffs were attentive as customers entered. Plenty of parking spaces in the plaza. I will definitely come back here for everything I tried during my visit and to try more when in the area or on the way back from Santa Cruz. This will also be a great place to grab Togo for picnics or for hiking as well! My kids are already asking to come back to the restaurant after our first time there. So glad to know of another Vietnamese restaurant that has so many yummy dishes in SJ!
Came here for the first time after hearing great things about this place. I ordered a "bun dac biet" and my husband ordered a pho thai. the food came out quick which is nice! the pho broth was very flavorful. my order came out and i was able to take a couple of bites of the thit nuong and it was really good. i liked it. unfortunately i didn't get to try the shrimp or eggrolls as i noticed a strand of hair in the bowl which quickly made me lose my appetite. a worker came by (guy with glasses) and asked how everything was and i told him about what i had found and he was very very apologetic about it and even offer to remake my order or any other food item i wanted.but with the restaurant closing within 10 mins, i said it was ok and passed on the kind offer. to be honest if the employees weren't so nice and took accountability i would've given this place 0 starts if i could but thanks to great employee, the service was worth the stars i gave. maybe one day ill come back and i hope this wouldn't happen again but as for now, ill pass.
We came here today for the first time for lunch. We both love Vietnamese food, so we were excited to see what they had to offer. They are located in the Branham shopping center off of Branham and Rose Ave. They share a huge parking lot with other establishments in that center. When we walked in, we were greeted and seated right away. I noticed that all the tables were taken. They were very busy. The inside is very nice and each table has a caddy with silverware, chopsticks and napkins as well as hot sauce and hoisin sauce. We studied the menus we were given. Ice water was brought out to us while we were deciding on what we wanted. We ordered two hot jasmine green teas to start with. For our appetizer we ordered the shrimp and pork spring rolls. My hubby decided to get the grilled shrimp rice vermicelli bowl and I ordered the Shaken Beef rice plate with tomato garlic rice. I was asked how I wanted the beef to be cooked. I chose medium rare. Our hot teas came out right away followed by our spring rolls. The tea was hot and soothing. The spring rolls were delicious with the peanut sauce it came with. Our mains, came out next. My hubb loved his grilled shrimp rice vermicelli bowl. He also liked the side of fish sauce that came with it. My Shaken Beef plate was absolutely delicious. It was cooked a perfect medium rare and was so tender. The flavor of the beef, with the peppers and onions, with a savory sauce, was so good. The tomato garlic rice was also tasty. I liked that there was some salad on my plate as well. The dish was amazing. Both main dishes we received had generous portions and we thought the prices were decent. The staff were so nice and attentive. Our overall experience was excellent. The food was very good as wells as the customer service. We look forward to returning soon.

The meat is so soft (I ask for medium rare) and it's cooked perfectly. It's super easy to eat and the flavor is so yummy. The red rice has a nice flavor and buttery taste to it. One thing I wanted to note is that I asked for no bell peppers and they cooked the onions perfectly. It's soft and pairs so well. I would definitely not ask for the do chua (carrot and daikon) and just sub it for extra lettuce next time. I'm literally craving the shaken beef plate again omg I gotta go back asap! Next time, I definitely want to dine in and try their other menu items as well :)

We came here bc I was craving Spring Rolls. And to my delight the peanut butter sauce was pretty delicious! It had a hint of spicy-ness which for me was a pleasant surprise. The ambiance is also super casual. The service is as good too although the young gentleman was on his phone both time we wanted to get his attention. My bf Beef Plate was good he says. He certainly finished it all.
Friday night at 7pm, it was poppin'! Waited about 15 minutes for a party of 6 Service was quick and attentive, as expected at a viet restaurant. Pho Luc Lac: Beef was tender and flavorful, but the broth was a little too salty to be honest Drunken Noodles: star of the show! Highly recommend to order this and share with your party Pad Thai and Bo Luc Lac were good enough, nothing to harp on though. Good alternative if you don't want to head over to east side, but if you do come, get the drunken noodles!!
Came here for lunch after craving a dish from my child hood! Found this spot and ordered the Bo Luc Lac and oh my good ness this is my new GO TO spot for this dish! Bo Luc Lac - 10/10 Perfect score, the flavor of the rice is so delicious and they even offer lemon with salt and pepper! The beef is so soft and full of flavor it almost melts in your mouth. Loved this dish so much after I finished eating my plate I ordered a 2nd one, but due to popular demand they ran out of the Red Rice! The interior design is very aesthetic and reminds me of authentic Vietnamese decor. The server said they get a lot of their materials from there. Furthermore, servers were great and very attentive as well! They mentioned that this dish is extremely popular and when they run out of the red rice that's it for the day, so just keep that in mind when coming here.

Felt like eating pho and found this spot on Yelp. Pictures look legit so came to try. And it does have some delicious food coming out from their kitchen! I got a pho bowl and my daughter got a rice plate with grilled pork chop; and they really hit the spot! The rice noodles were done right and stayed firm throughout the meal and broth had a nice deep flavor as well. The shaken beef with tomato rice was delicious. Super tender steak (which is cooked to your liking) that was paired with onions and peppers making for a savory dish. It was so good, I really enjoyed it. The side of pickled veggies and the lime were bright and added acidic flavor to the meal to round it out. The tomatoes were also so fresh, yum. There's a side of salt and pepper for seasoning. The tomato rice was cooked well and flavorful. The presentation was dreamy. So beautiful haha. read more
I was back in Bay visiting family. My sister had a taste for Pho, so you know what I did. Went on Yelp and looked for places with four stars and up. After reading few reviews of similar spots, we settled on this place. We weee seated immediately and our order was take quickly We ordered a variety of dishes as there were four of us. Pho with chicken, spring rolls with pie and the other one was vegetables only. Shrimp fried rice, pork chops, lemon grass chicken with white rice and a middle dish with sunny side up egg. Walked in and the guy who greeted us at the door was very kind! We went on a gloomy rainy day so the ambience when we walked in was very mellow, quiet, and relaxing. The place itself was seemingly very clean and well taken care of! The menu looked good, generic but they had a few staples that have always proved delicious! I ordered the regular sized brisket pho and the soup and noodles were yummy.... Decent amount of meat they gave me. The strips of brisket were long but they were a tad too tough and chewy for my liking. I'm pretty sure the fried wontons were homemade- stuffing was meaty and filled and deliciously moist... however, the wraps they used for the wontons were a tad too dough-y. Service was really cool though! And I wouldn't consider myself picky at all!! I wanted a nice satisfying bowl of pho on a gloomy day and this place did the job for me!! We got delivery from here tonight after a pho craving and a Yelp search. So while I can't speak to service or the physical location, I can comment on the food. We got spring rolls, chicken pho and shaken beef. The food was fresh, bright, and they served good portions. The broth was amazing, so much depth of flavor. It was rich but also light with all of the typical aromatics and spices. The add-ins of hoisin, basil, sriracha, cilantro, and green onions rounded it out (I always skip the bean sprouts). The shaken beef was tender and had a sweet and savory combo that really worked with the tomato rice. We got too full to eat the spring rolls, but I have no doubt they will be delicious in a couple of hours. Definitely going to be a place we go back to. read more
We were lucky and there was one table open for us at 1pm on a busy saturday afternoon. We literally beat the rush because there were immediately 2-3 larger parties that came in after we were seated. The restaurant was packed, with many togo orders occupying the staff's attention. We ordered the vietnamese chicken salad as an appetizer to share, and I got the eye round, brisket, and tendon pho. Split among 3 people, the salad and a personal dish was plenty of food. The vietnamese chicken salad was really good, primarily because of the fish sauce dressing, which carries the whole salad (I would recommend). The pho was also very flavorful and the selection of meat was pretty standard. Given the busyness, the restaurant got a little noisy at times, but it wasn't much of an issue (just an observation). read more
The place is nice and clean with good decor. I was able to order really fast and the food came fast too. The Thai Iced tea was delish and the butter and garlic wings were yummy. The bread for the Banh mi was fresh and the fries were really good. The marinade on the meat was good, but it was pretty chewy with gristle and fat. Also I love cilantro, but they threw in tons of thick stems that were inedible. They sort of dropped the ball in getting a container for my leftovers and getting me the bill. Maybe I was supposed to just walk up to the front with my food and ask for the bill? I don't know. read more
Comparing to other Pho restaurants in the area, Pho Luc Lac is famous for their house specials, such as Pho Luc Lac, the caramelized pork belly rice, and the crispy chow fan and they are all amazing. The restaurant gets busy during meal time, so make sure you come early or just order take out. Their indoor seating ares is adequate and not to crowded. read more

Only got to try 2 things off their menu, and I would definitely be back for both. Opted for the BBH and it was perfectly lemongrassy, and spicy. They didn't skimp on the proteins they put in and I devoured every noodle. Also got the fish sauce wings which were sweet, salty, savory all in one. We came in an hour before closing and our food came out quick so we had time to enjoy with out being rushed out. read more

Yum! Demolished the food! Pho Luc Lac is an amazing Vietnamese restaurant in San Jose, and I had an incredible experience at this place. The food was tasty, fresh, and perfectly cooked, with authentic Vietnamese flavors that made each bite truly enjoyable. What is more, the staff provided excellent service--they were friendly, caring, and warm but never seemed to rush their customers. What impressed me about the restaurant is the quality of food and services they provide together with big portions of food. Clearly, this is something that the restaurant takes great pride in. I strongly recommend Pho Luc Lac to everyone who is willing to enjoy some authentic Vietnamese food in San Jose. I will definitely visit there again! read more
I've had so many people recommend this place so I'm glad I finally got to try it the other day! We went on a Sunday night and it wasn't super busy. The inside is nice and clean. We got seated and struggled to order because they had so many versatile items! We ended up with the rib eye fried rice and pho dac biet. Our rib eye dish came with a MOUND of rice. It was a lot. The dish itself was really good and had a homey feel to it. The pho was solid. I will definitely be returning to try the pad thai (my weakness) and bun bo hue! read more
I hadn't eaten in person at Pho Luc Lac in years, but it's the place I usually get pho delivered from. It was even better in person. I got their house special named "pho luc lac," which is a pho with filet mignon, meatballs, brisket, and tendon. Having the filet made it taste very luxurious. Came in this afternoon with wifey, they were very busy but was able to seat us right away. True to Vietnamese restaurant style they asked if we were ready to order about 5 seconds after giving us the menu " honestly what is it about Vietnamese restaurants wanting to take your order seconds after they give you the menu? lol!" Anyway I told them we needed a bit more time. I ended up ordering the vermicelli bowl comes with fresh vegetables, noodles one fried egg roll and meat. Wifey got the pork chops with rice and a side order of a sunny side up egg "$3 extra for one egg?" to put on top of her rice. And a Vietnamese coffee. The food came out fast and hot, my vermicelli bowl looked absolutely amazing, I love the amount of fresh veggies they used, the flavors were spot on unfortunately their fish sauce didn't have the punch that I am used too " you know that distinctive umami flavor you get? Just wasn't there" and the fried egg roll left my mouth dry, their hot sauce is not as hot as other Vietnamese restaurants however I thought it was pretty tasty, overall the dish was good and filling. The service is excellent and they keep the restaurant very clean as well. read more

Is there multiple noodle options for the pho like specifically egg noodle and flat noodle?
Yes... I always asked for the egg noodles instead of rice noodles and it's no problem not sure about the size of the noodle so I think there's no choice for that
