First time here introduced someone to some Viet food and they chose this place. Restaurant was pretty quiet when we got there. LeQuy's signature wings are good, I enjoyed the sauce that they used. I came here in the morning and here's my experience: 1. Ambience 4/5: clean, brightly and had a lot of seats when I came. I liked the way they decorated some small VN traditional arts on the wall. Very cute! 2. Service: attentive and served quickly. 3. Food 3/5: I ordered Bun thit nuong tom nuong which had grilled pork, grilled shrimp, with thin vermicelli and vegetables. For personally, the fish sauce came with it was kinda sweet and the grilled pork was sweet as well. I liked how the smoky aroma from grilled shrimp, that was interesting. Ordered: Fried Shrimp Dumplings - it was a good appetizer to start off with and was nicely fried and crispy--however, I wish there was more filling to wrapper ratio. Rock 'n Roll Beef - the overall dish had a good ratio of beef and veggies and a good amount of sauce that wasn't too sweet. The beef was cooked well and was nice and tender. The rice on the other hand was a bit on the dry side though. Eye Round Steak & Flank Pho - the overall dish hit the spot and was very comforting. The pho had a darker colored broth than what I'm used to, but nonetheless it was still flavorful and warmed up my body. There was a good amount of meat and noodle ratio and the pieces were tender. The flank had a chew to it which didn't bother me, but I wish the pieces were cut smaller like the eye round steak to make it easier to eat. My family in the bay really likes this place! Overall, our lunch at LeQuy was good. As a vegan, I was surprised to see that there was eggplant tofu clay pot (in menu) and vegan banh mi (it was shown on some screen as we walked in). I was excited to try the banh mi, but I was a bit disappointed with it: the bread was very good and lots of pickled veggies, but I would have liked more tofu. Update: Within 20 minutes of tasting the food I got sick. The "chicken breast" is so obviously turkey breast, it's honestly pathetic to lie about proteins, come on man. The fried rice was given to someone else I didn't even taste it. My experience is based of of what I ordered from DoorDash and I won't be ordering again from this restaurant. I ordered for myself and another and we got this specialty clay pot rice and chicken breast pho. The clay pot rice "beef" was one of the worst tasting things I've ordered from a restaurant in years. This clearly was not the beef in the picture of the menu or any in the photos on this page and it was disgusting. The rice itself is not worth getting over regular fried rice, the flavor is nothing special. The noodles were a terrible texture, I thought they needed to be cooked more because the broth came lukewarm instead of piping hot like other places (who are farther away btw and still made it to me hot). The pho doesn't come with a bowl to eat it in... every other place I've gotten pho from has a bowl with the noodles and protein. I live in a hospital so this is a personal inconvenience because we only have little tiny bowls. I would consider it to be more thoughtful customer service to give a bowl. The broth is normal pho broth. Not bad. The chicken is a large portion and noodles too. They have young cono but juice which is good. I had lunch at LeQuy for the first time a few weeks ago. It's on San Tomas Aquino at Campbell in the same strip as Dollar Tree and Grocery Outlet. We started with an order of fried pork egg rolls. Then I had the Beef Combination Pho (#33) and my friend had the #57 Grilled Shrimp & Chicken Vermicelli. Service was good--they did a good job refilling beverages and left us alone so we could talk. This little place always hits the spot. I tend to order a side of broth with my vermicelli plate, and it makes a lovely breakfast on early starts. I like to get the fried rolls, and mix them in with the pork and shrimp vermicelli plate. I've only eaten here in person once, and the service was to be expected from a pho spot. We got to the restaurant around 2:30pm on a Saturday for lunch. We were hungry. 1st meal of the day. About 10 minutes later we ordered fried calamari, wagyu pho, bun bo hue, and pork chop rice plate. The pork chop rice plate came out first, bun bo hue, calamari and lastly the pho. Food took a really long time to come out compared to other Vietnamese restaurants we have been to. Probably about 20 minutes for the first dish to come out while other dishes came out staggered. Rice plate presentation was nice. Wagyu meat came out on a plate (they did not skimp on the meat), broth in a bowl and fresh pho noodles in a separate bowl. The service and food were good so worth the wait. Probably not a good idea to come here if you're hungry due to long wait time for the food to be served. Would be a better idea to come when you start to feel hungry. Clean restaurant. Modern decor. I clearly told the staff multiple times that I have a severe peanut allergy and asked for my dish without peanuts. When it arrived, I specifically confirmed with the server that there were no peanuts and was told the topping was crispy garlic. It was actually peanuts. I ate some and had a severe allergic reaction, throwing up four times and having to leave immediately to get medication. Despite this, they still made us pay for the food. This was an extremely serious failure in food safety and customer service. If your looking for good customer service or have a severe peanut allergy I do not recommend this place. Otherwise according to my family the food tasted good. Ironically, when traveling in Vietnam earlier this summer, I had no issues communicating my severe peanut allergy and getting dishes without peanuts. Yet back here in the U.S, I was blatantly lied to by the waitstaff about whether my dish contained peanuts. read more

Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend LeQuy for beef pho or veggie egg rolls. The pho broth was overly salty and dark, the noodles and beef in my pho tai were both fine but a little chewy and tough. The veggie egg rolls were completely saturated in oil (soaked through 2 napkins and were wet to the touch -- and not in a hot, crispy oil way), and overall not great. Sweet chili sauce was tasty. I would say for a Monday and me craving pad Thai and my favorite pad Thai restaurant being closed, this was a decent save for my craving. I would give them a 3.5, only because I was craving pot Thai and granted they do not cook with any MSG, the pad Thai was a Vietnamese style and not a traditional Thai style of pad Thai. They barbecued chicken for Masselli on the other hand was marvelous!! Perfectly balanced cooked and great flavor!! Although I wish they had more pickled vegetables on the takeout version, but it was still delicious! The meal itself was so big it actually took me two sittings to finish hee. I did take out, so my order was done in about 10 minutes, and I was able to pick it up quickly. I wanted a tofu and veggie chowmein ordered through uber. Unfortunately the soft and crispy not was in the end and not visible. I wanted a soft chowmein but accidentally ordered a crispy one and realized only after coming home. Explained by calling them, they asked us to bring back, which we did. Instead of giving me the soft one, they dumped what I ordered in a different box and gave back to me. As if customers don't know how to do that. He could refused and told thats what you ordered, i would have been ok with that. But this is disgrace and not professional, i have been to their restaurant several times more than a decade to their old location. We are in the neighborhood and one of the restaurants we frequent. I had ordered a Mother's Day banquet lunch and it was a success ! My family enjoyed the food and could taste the freshness of the avacodoes spring rolls, which turned out to be their favorite. They loved how the salmon was cooked and the combination of rice and noodles. Everything was delicious! There were leftoves, which everyone took home and the sauces with each dish was delightful and added to the overall taste and flavor of the dishes! I will order from this restaurant again as this is now my go to place when I invite family and friends over for lunch or dinner. The manager was so nice and gracious and worked with me on how to order the dishes. He also provided some recommendations on portion size and it worked out perfectly! Came here to dine in on a Saturday evening and surprisingly was the only group to dine in. It felt slightly eerily to just be the only party in the restaurant but overall not an issue as we received prompt service. I ordered the bun bo hue which was good! I'm writing this review only to point out that as of recently their to-go orders have shrunk a lot... I always order vegetable pho and the amount of noodles and veggies/tofu are now given to you in a small Chinese to-go box which is honestly sad to see given the price is $16 It's as if they rather you dine in than to take food to go. Sometimes I rather enjoy having a meal watching a movie at home away from a restaurant atmosphere. I still love this place but maybe save your money by not ordering to go and eat in person. Tuesday night approximately 6:30 pm. Sat down immediately. Ordered Avocado Rolls with Peanut Sauce - it might sound like an odd pairing, but it's DELICIOUS. Tonights rolls were a touch light on the avocado but fresh and creamy as always. If you like avocado, I highly recommend them! Two #45 Tofu & Veggie Pho. The vegetables were cooked to perfection, the tofu firm and fresh, the broth was clean tasting and super hot, the portions are crazy generous, and the condiments are very fresh. Le Quy has been our go-to for years. We do avoid the Bok Choy in our pho because if anything might leech a non-fresh or fishy taste from the refrigeration, it's usually that, but if that doesn't bother you then give it a try. Enjoy! I heard there was a place serving wagyu pho so I wanted to check it out! Food: The presentation was amazing! It felt like shabu with everything separated from the broth. The broth came in a stone bowl so it was really hot, so you can cook your wagyu in it. The broth was already flavorful but you can add the usual sriracha and hoisin sauce, squeeze, a lemon, and add jalapeño too. They didn't have the small dipping sauce plates at the table but they had it when I asked for it. The cooked noodles were stuck together and a little softer than I'd like but they were able to separate in the broth. The wagyu pho is a large portion so it can be for two people too. I felt so elite eating wagyu with pho, it had marbling on it too. The texture of the wagyu was perfect, as long as you eat it before it gets soft in the broth. Ambience: A nice restaurant with romantic music. I recommend this place for dates too. The restaurant caught me off guard because the name is Vietnamese, but the food is definitely more Americanized so it didn't taste as authentic. We ordered the pho dac biet (beef combination soup) along with Thai tea at the end of our meal. The pho broth itself tasted watered down... the vegetables on the side weren't as fresh. Found this place on yelp, and it seemed pretty decent. I quickly read some reviews and there was a mix of 5 stars and 3 stars, which is always a bit worrisome. Lots of mixed reviews: it's either one of the best pho places, or one of the most Americanized/not great pho places. Once we turned the corner into the parking lot, I could see that it was not at all what you would expect. It felt very American, almost like a diner. There weren't a lot of people, and in the end it was only us and another party. The owners seem viet, but the food seems to cater to a more American audience. We tried the vermicelli with bbq chicken and another with vermicelli, since they don't offer one with both. The vermicelli was good, and it had a lot of veggies (hard to mess up tbh!). The chicken isn't like other viet places, with a crispy skin or super flavorful 5 spice flavor. It's like basic grilled chicken, almost like teriyaki chicken. It was alright, not bad. The egg rolls are crunchy, but was lacking in flavor. The pho ga tasted like typical pho ga. The broth was your typical chicken taste, it was ok. The chicken meat was rough. The beef combination pho was probably the worst. The broth didn't have the beefy flavor that you look for in pho. The meat was also pretty rough. I love their beef stew pho! The broth is potent, flavorful and the perfect balance of spices. I'm no pho expert, and this review is coming from a white girl that bad no idea what Vietnamese food was nice until 10 yrs ago. However, I've tried many beef pho's and this place is by far my fav. I judge all others by LeQuys broth. Their pork egg rolls are amazing too. The only thing not amazing is some quantity and quality changes in the past couple years. The seem to change every time I go. One time I door dashed and got 3 small pieces of stew meat! Another time there was no carrots in the broth. My last and final time, they only filled the broth up halfway. My husband took the food back for me and they said that's the correct amount. We've been coming here since 2014. Now it seems like every time we go, the prices are higher, they charge for takeout boxes and the quantity is less. If you do eat here, I would recommend eating at the restaurant or heavily checking your order before you leave. The Good: *Menu has pretty much any and all the ubiquitous Viet grub, from all manner of soup, such as Phở and Bún bò Huế, to spring rolls and Vermicelli bowls. *Vegan Avocado Rolls are delicious and packed with avocado. They're actually quite unique, as I don't recall ever seeing anything quite like them at any other Viet joint. Please note their spring roll prices are quite high, but they're also gigantic; their two rolls are the size of four normal spring rolls. *We dig the vibe of the place, as it feels more like eating at a diner than a typical Viet joint; it's very low-key and relaxing. *Wagyu Beef Phở was quite terrific, as the beef had nice marbling and was sliced nice and thin, so it cooked up super tender. This is a special menu item, so it may not be available at all times. The Meh: *Service can be a bit harried for whatever reason, despite the place not being very busy. Been here a few times. The restaurant feel like an American dinner vs a more traditional pho spot. There is different types of fishes to look at, in the front area. There is a bar area for busy times. The broth is clean and feels likes no MSG. If you want a pho soup that isn't too oily, this is the spot for you. I order the meatballs, but extra meatballs are $5 for a few pieces. I recommend making sure that small dipping sauce dishes are at all the tables. The egg rolls are full of pork fillings and the fried shrimp dumplings are the smaller won ton type papers type. I still have to ask for fish sauces and extra lettuce a few times, for both the egg rolls and dumplings. Overall, this is a very Americanized Vietnamese spot. The staff is nice and if you want a place to do work, they have wifi here, and while the place can get busy, it isn't overtly too busy, that you feel obligated to leave the table, even after several hours. (I would recommend, to not use a spray cleaner when cleaning tables, because the smell and cleaning particles could travel. Just a quick side note.) You have a very diverse crowd, so feel comfortable to come here in PJs on Sunday or feel free to dress up a tad. Keep it up for a casual Vietnamese diner vibes! BBQ pork sandwich with pate Good crisp bread, but rather mediocre presentation not helped by the fact that the sandwich was missing jalapeño peppers, or cilantro. Pate was scarce. Chilean sea bass fried rice Including egg and basil in a homemade sauce and traditional herbs and spices. Rice grains have the flavor of fish broth and the sea bass is fresh - I can see why this one is a fan favorite. Beef combination Pho Eye round steak, well done brisket, flank, tendon, tripe and beef meatballs. It's true - you can have tendon and tripe that is fresh - well, at least seemingly easier to bite and chew. One pet peeve I have is that they stick (what once was) the rare steak in the hot broth so that by the time the bowl is presented to me, it is nearly well done. It wouldn't take that much effort to leave it on top, or even on a separate small plate. Rice noodles are slightly thinner than normal, which I enjoyed because the standard size can tend to feel pasty on the palate by the end of the meal.
