Didn't have too much expectation as I've never heard of Yummee before but I was really craving a Banh Mi. Staff was super nice and friendly, very small place but quick. Pricing is around $10-11 for 1 sandwich. But SO SO flavorful, the bread was also perfect, not too bready but crispy and fluffy. The pate was my favorite, I think it's because it has a strong onion or garlic flavor. I personally prefer this over some of the more famous and popular ones around the bay. Even though I've driven by hundreds of times, I don't think I would've found it if it weren't for the banh mi search! I went with the BBQ pork and grilled chicken banh mi's to share. I liked the pork better, and my boyfriend like the chicken better. They weren't the best banh mi's I've tried, but they got the job done. They had lots of cilantro and jalapeño, both of which I tend to mostly pick off, but if you are a cilantro and jalapeño lover, these would be great for you. Wanted to pick up lunch to go after working out at a nearby gym, so I did a search for banh mi and found this shop. It's a pretty tiny place, but the lady behind the counter was super nice. I asked her for a recommendation among the different pork sandwiches and ended up getting the pork belly with pate, everything on it. I also had a jasmine milk tea. It's in a small plaza with other miscellaneous shops, and it's a very small place with a couple tables inside and outside. I asked the gentleman, who I presume is the owner, what he recommended. Inconspicuous little spot. The woman in the front was very polite. And I can tell you that my daughter and I love bahn mi. Have eaten a ton of different spots in this one truly stands out. The flavors are amazing! The meats are prepared to perfection, i highly recommend the sloppy beef extra spicy or my other go to.Is the sardine. I tried this "new to me" Vietnamese sandwich place in West San Jose on Hamilton near San Thomas Expressway. I didn't have the time or energy to go over to the east side to get sandwiches for our event and saw this on yelp with good ratings. I called them up and they were able to accommodate me with 20 sandwiches right at 11 AM on a Saturday. Note that they open at 11 AM. Calvin, the owner, was Awesome to work with. We had a few special requests like jalapeños on the side and each sandwich cut in half. The order came out perfectly and was ready right when I arrived at the store. They have a great way of labeling sandwiches in the wrapper. Guess we're able to select a sandwich without manhandling them. Guests liked the sandwiches a lot. Been looking for a banh mi shop in Campbell area and stumbled upon Yummee! I saw the sign and figured why not give this place a try! I got sandwich #1 with the cold cut and pate! The restaurant name is very well deserved because yummy was the first thing I thought when I bit into the sandwich. Soft bread center, but still a toasted on the outside, fresh bread. Delicious pickled vegetables, and the meats are so fresh and tasty. Super fast and great customer service too. There are a couple of small tables inside and a couple outside (great for the upcoming season, especially since it's starting to warm up). I also wanted to commend how kind the staff were because the owner's husband called her and told her to tell me I had a flat tire, I had no idea. She was really kind to let me know and then I was able to get a tow truck. She let me stay inside and sit while I wait since it was chilly. The guy seemed annoyed that I requested for the pickled veggies on the side, and told me it's an extra 35 cents for a plastic sandwich bag. It wasn't even busy so why make your customer feel uncomfortable for simple request, which are no problem at other banh mi places. We usually get the grilled pork banh mi and it's usually pretty good. But this time, on a Friday evening, these sandwiches were very poor. The bread was not fresh and the pork did not seem to be grilled. It lacked flavor. Also, the spread that they put on the bread (some type of mayonnaise or ghee?) just made an awful impression. Being a banh mi Connoisseur, tried Huong Lan and Duoc Huong in SaC, San Jose, and Stockton. Other than Huong Lan in Stockton this place comes in the top 2 BEST. Their pate has a spice kick that is unique and is made with love. Bread made just right as it makes the sandwich. The meat ratio is alot for me and I know thats a good thing for many. Seems a bit more like a grab and go place- the few people that came in during the same time took theirs to-go. I can not recommend this place enough sandwiches are some of the best around. I get the #2 pork and pate with no onions, no mayo, and double meat. It's become a daily habit now, the staff are so kind and friendly they make a high light of the day every time. Small mom and pop place. Tried their Banh mi for the first time a few weeks ago. My first thought was it's so huge and proceeded to split the sandwich in half to eat half later. Came in on Sunday before the Super Bowl for a couple sandwiches. Parking is plentiful as the strip mall its located in isn't that busy. Service was super friendly and attentive, they do have a Sunday special where you get a free drink with your order (please note that it is per transaction, not per meal that is ordered). I ordered a #4 and #10 and both were served on a fresh baguette which was still warm. The pickled veggies were fresh and the meat was tender and flavorful. The mushrooms with the tofu sandwich were also a nice touch. Jalapeños and cilantro were also not skimped on as some locations don't put enough on to completed the flavor profile.
