My wife mentioned this place since she sees it on her IG account so we decided to try it this Friday!! It is located next to the grocery store Nobhill and there are quick 20min parking in front of the store. We were greeted right when we entered the door and looked at the delicious treats to eat. There is the main seating area and another area in the back to sit down along with sitting outside. It felt upscale and nice. The sign in front of the store had some drink specials and I got a strawberry/matcha drink I think it was called Rose. I asked what was good here and the cashier said the mini almond pastries and other treats in the front. The mini almond pastry was really good and also got a crème brûlée which was really good as well. I would come back again and try their hot teas next time. Delicious treats. I accidentally spotted this place after visiting a friend in Saratoga and decided to check it out. I'm glad I did! It has been on my list to visit, known for the Spiral Croissant made popular like around 2 years ago. Great indoor and outdoor dining. Since it is small shopping area there is a lot of parking. It is a great place to enjoy a cup or tea or coffee with a selection of decadent desserts. As you check the display case someone will help you and you can request for take out or for here options. The staff were friendly and helpful when I requested for explanation for some of the desserts. Once you pay, pick any table to sit down and they will bring the tea or coffee with dessert of your choice. I had ordered Tokyo Breakfast and Leek Parmesan (I requested the pastry to be warmed up). This has been my go-to place and a secret superpower for the last few years, that enabled me to show up with an amazing cakes for my wife's birthdays and really any occasions. They have a good selection of small single-serve cakes that we really enjoy, as we get to try many different flavors. But they also have large cakes, daily cakes, legendary Marvel tiramisu and all kinds of pastries. It's impossible to come in and walk out without a huge box of things you didn't know you needed. The service is quick and polite. They will even calligraph a custom edible banner for your cake! I've always taken away but there are some tables to eat in. I came the other day with a friend, and we ordered a few to share, the lemon pie, the passion fruit dessert, and the tiramisu, which was definitely our favorite. I've been wanting to try Marvel cake for so long and my brother-in-law surprised us by bringing it today for a birthday celebration. He got four things the strawberry heart shaped moose, the lemon tart, a pistachio tart, and their infamous croissant chocolate I don't even know what it's called. Everything was so flavorful and so beautiful. I thought the lemon tart was the best. It had such a great flavor. I wasn't so crazy about the strawberry mousse heart. I thought it had a weird texture, but the guys loved it. I did love how pretty it was and it had a teeny tiny little rose decoration, which was so adorable and special ! I love the ambiance and desserts at Marvel cake - they have such a cute tea house feel with the sofa's for two people. If you have a fur baby, there is outdoor seating for you. I feel like it takes me back to being in some European coffee place ( even though it's in a strip mall). The staff is super friendly and explained what was in the various desserts. My girlfriends and I came to Marvel Cake around 2pm on a Saturday and thankfully there were no long lines. We were able to snag one of the popular matcha spiral croissant and quite a few other desserts to try out. This spot has a pretty good amount of seating and it's a really nice chic ambiance (feels like afternoon tea spot even though they don't sell tea sets/sandwiches). They also have water and restroom. Here's my ranking of the desserts we tried. 1. The Pistachio Tart - so yummy and it's my fav. The mix of pistachio layer and chocolate layer combined was delicious. Not too sweet. 2. Royal hazelnut- probably the most sweetest of all the items we tried but still very good and the crisp layer on the bottom was very delightful! 3. Matcha croissant - yummy! Flaky and yummy matcha filling. 4. Passionfruit and mango tart - quite a few of my friends favorite and def very good! Perfect for the fruit lovers 5. Lemon tart - nice lemon taste and not too tart 6. Strawberry tart- super cute since it's heart shaped but not very memorable compared to the other desserts. I would skip this one. 7. Rose tart - super cute but the only one my friends and I didn't like. The rose taste was too overpowering and it felt like digesting perfume or lotion. Very modern and chic ambiance at Marvel Cake, which gave excellent afternoon tea vibes. There was a surprising amount of seats both inside and outside for the size of the cafe. The pastries and cakes on display were all gorgeous, though lacking a larger visible menu - folks waiting to order just ended up all crowding around the display counter trying to decide what to order, which didn't seem very efficient (some places provided a visual menu outside to help with this). Service was friendly but a bit slow as a result. They didn't have the spiral croissant that other reviews mentioned - I might need to come back earlier in the day to check that out sometime, but I got the l'opera, the pistachio tart and lemon tart. I also got a red velvet mocha as some reviewers recommended that. I enjoyed all the cakes, though I think the pistachio was my favorite. It had the perfect mix of textures and it was not too sweet. The l'opera was much sweeter, but not overly so, still enjoyable. The lemon tart was super tangy which I liked, but I would've preferred it without the cream top. The red velvet mocha was good as well, though they didn't ask if I wanted it hot or iced and just assumed iced (which surprised me, since usually drinks are hot by default unless you specify "iced"). The taste was good, and they mix the red velvet powder in well, but it had no real coffee taste and it was definitely pricey. All in all, it's a very cute and nice cafe to hang out at. Items are all pretty pricey, but the desserts all look beautiful and there were a ton of choices (even some savory ones). We got the pistachio, matcha, and chocolate spiral croissants and you can't go wrong with any. They aren't too sweet and each has their own distinct flavor so pick your favorite, or get all that are available like us. The spinach and feta croissant and leek and Parmesan were both good but they weren't the star of the show. I visited this bakery to preorder a birthday cake. They have 6" & 8" cakes and if you need a larger cake they can place a 6" on top of an 8". I asked the sales person how many people an 8" can serve and she said it depends on how you cut it. Not the answer I was expecting but I guess accurate to a degree. I then asked a different sales person how much a strawberry 6"/8" combo cake would be. He went in back to ask the manager. He returned 5 minutes later telling me to go to their website to get the price.
