Would recommend pre-ordering online because many items were sold out just an hour after opening when I stopped by on a Monday afternoon. I ordered the Assorted Flavor Whole Cake which comes with 5 flavors - 2 pieces each. It is an artisanal delight. The pick up was very smooth. They have loads of pick up locations in SF and it was convenient for me to find a nearby location and pick up the cake. Every year, I look forward to ordering Anton millicrepe cakes for the holidays. It's a real treat for my family, and they always look forward to it in our family gatherings. "Danreb's here! Boujie cake! Danreb's here! Boujie cake!" It might get to a point where now, I'll have to order four instead of two. I've had every flavor, so I was pleased to see that they had some seasonal offerings that were included in the deal. For November, I had the pumpkin flavor, and for December, I had their holiday chocolate flavor. Both of them were absolutely amazing, and I'd go as far as saying that the pumpkin might be my favorite slice of Anton's yet--think the deliciousness of a pumpkin pie but in creamy decadent cake form! I also noticed that they did a dulce de leche flavor, and I'm bummed that I didn't get to try that one out. Pick-up from their San Jose warehouse location remains extremely easy, and you can also schedule pick-ups for single slice cakes. They're even available on DoorDash, so please go get your Anton's fix if you're even considering it! I've also ordered slices for me and my girlfriend for Valentine's Day. I think I have tried every single crepe cake flavor on their menu I have been buying from them whenever there's a bday within my family & partner. I thoroughly enjoy how balanced the flavors are & they're not too sweet either. If I could make a recommendation, I would say sadly the mango crepe cake was not my favorite nor my family. It was extremely sweet. The ripen mangoes with the flaky white chocolate just didn't work out because of how sweet it all tasted. We usually always go for a 2nd slice on all the other flavors, but it was difficult to finish even just 1 slice for the mango one. I think having a different topping would work better. Maybe unsweetened coconut cream with some dark chocolate bits (or Dutch process cacao?). Something that would give balance. I'm not sure since I don't really eat a lot of desserts. They were definitely on the pricy side as far as desserts go. I mean, that's to be expected. I can only imagine how time-consuming it is to make and put together all those crepe layers. Their location is kind of odd and unassuming as they're located amongst a bunch of business offices, but I like that it's low-key. I pre-ordered online a couple of days beforehand and picked it up without any issues. They put the slices in individual little boxes and even give you a bag for it. The presentation is pretty fancy. You can definitely tell that you're paying for quality. The crepe cake was made well both visually and structurally. This was the first crepe cake I ever had, and the texture was very light and fluffy. It has that delicate melt-in-your-mouth feeling. Flavor-wise, I wasn't really feeling the hokkaido milk. It's very subtle, and I prefer something that stands out a little more. My bf on the other hand absolutely loved it. This recent year I got 2 more slices of the hokkaido milk plus a 3rd slice of black sesame for his birthday so he could try out a new flavor. I much prefer the black sesame, but my bf is still hooked on the hokkaido milk. I guess this will be a little tradition for his birthday from now on. This place is to go only, with one bench nearby (may be a random bench). This was my first experience trying a crepe cake was here. I got to try the Hokkaido and hojicha flavors. Hojicha had an earthy flavor and may not be enjoyed by everyone, but I personally liked the earthiness balanced with the cream on top. I used to get Lady M all the time for special occasion cakes, but now I get Anton's - we typically get both matcha and hokkaido milk flavors. The matcha crepe cake is the perfect mix of bitter and sweet and there is a generous amount of matcha powder on the top layer. The Hokkaido milk is grey/black due to the charcoal, but I don't taste any difference with the charcoal. I do think that the Hokkaido milk is the most special, with the creamy layers and the contrasting crispy dark chocolate balls between the layers. The cakes are pretty pricey just like Lady M, but they definitely put a lot of high quality ingredients into this. I've also tried making mille crepe cakes before and understand just how painstaking it is to make one. Pickup is very easy, if you ordered online make sure you have your order number so they can match your order and then they'll be out shortly with your order.
