This is Korean style shave ice. There is no diary-free option. Service is fine, but is more self-served. You order at the kiosk and wait for your number to be called. You use a tray to bring your items that you order to the table as afterwards, you use the tray to bring the items back to tray area for clean-up. There are small bowls that you can use to share the items you order. We ordered the Melon Rock and the strawberry flavor one. Both items were at least $20, equivalent of a meal. It is a luxury dessert place. We came around 3pm and it was packed. When we were leaving, it was still crowded. This is a pretty popular Korean dessert place. As I heard the one that is located in Korea is three floors high in Seoul and every floor is full of people eating desserts. It is delicious. I can come once In awhile so it doesn't break my bank lol. It is delicious.
Sulbing is a pretty solid spot for bingsoo, though I don't think it'll be my go-to. It's tucked into one of those plazas lining El Camino Real, and the parking is pretty limited. Not only does it get really busy after work hours, many parking spots are reserved for other businesses. It's also usually crowded inside, making snagging a seat a bit hard. It's a popular spot, and I can see why--the menu features many different bingsoo options alongside other desserts, and they're all very beautiful and cute. There's also free WiFi and bathroom access. I will note that they don't seem particularly diligent about cleaning up between customers. You pick your own seats, and when I finally found a table, there was food residue visible on the tabletop. Their prices are a little higher than some other spots in SJ (ranging from ~$13 to $19 pre-tax), and I don't think the quality of the bingsoo is noticeably better to justify the price. I tried a pricier one (the premium strawberry), and found it to be quite good, but not $20 good. Plus, some aspects seem designed more for pictures than for eating. The little cheesecake slice is a bit hard because it's cold and difficult to eat with the shaved ice. That said, their bingsoo does taste good! The fruit tasted fresh and sweet, and the portion was enough for me to share with my partner. I wish the condensed milk was provided on the side instead of already poured on top, but I didn't mind the amount they gave. I may not be back immediately in the future, but I wouldn't mind visiting again. I would probably stick to the lower-priced options myself, though. If you visit, do keep in mind that it's usually really busy--your order probably will take a minute, and whether that's worth it or not is up to you.

Took me a bit to grow accustomed to the taste, but once I did I couldn't stop nibbling it. - Black sesame latte: 2/5. Tasted very watered down and bland. Spoke with others who also got various drinks and they would not recommend, either. Definitely more of a food spot Tldr: great spot to socialize and work. Skip the drinks, order the food!
For a long time, I didn't try the Mango Sulbing because it's so commonly found elsewhere, but I tried it tonight, and I was impressed with the softness and sweetness of the mango. I also thought I tasted something like cheese on the bottom and it was a good addition. I also ordered the watermelon Sulbing and I enjoyed it very much. The jelly that they added had a nice texture. The service was through a kiosk and just OK. The ambiance was busy.
Excited to try this Korean shaved ice shop. It's clearly well regarded and was very busy when we arrived. Order through self order, kiosk or in person at the front. We got the red bean and the strawberry flavors - the portions were very large for a bay-area reasonable price of less than $15 item. It was my first visit and honestly, I was a bit disappointed; while there were lots of fresh fruits, I found the flavor bland and not sweet enough - which may be someone's jam? I wished it had more condensed milk to give it a more creamy flavor. The shaved ice was beautiful and fluffy - i'd say this is the main draw that may bring me back to try new flavors. There is plenty of seating inside for tables of two or even small groups. Parking can be difficult since many popular establishments are in the same strip mall so plan ahead for parking time.
A friend told me about this bingsoo chain from Korea! He said that the American options here are better though... so I had to give it a try myself! My go to is the Mango Cheese Bingsoo. The condensed milk and snow-like texture of the ice are satisfying. Overall, it's a large portion and the fruits are always sweet. Not bad!
Yeah Sulbing is on the pricier side and it's always packed. Parking is annoying, even after Beque closed (RIP). The bingsoo is admittedly some of the best in the Bay Area. But if there's nowhere to sit, it's hard to enjoy it. Wish the venue was a bit bigger. Looking back, If you're really craving Korean shaved ice, this place is solid, just try to come during off hours.
On of the most expensive sulbings I've had not sure if it's because it's healthier because of the yogurt but it sure was tasty. Efficient self service kiosk . very much a hangout spot in the evenings especially during the summer. when it gets crowded, you may have to wait a little bit for a seat , hover around a table that looks like they're going to leave. This is an order and pay at the front and seat yourself establishment. Would definitely come back
The bingsoo at sulbing is always delicious. They use frozen sweet milk, not water ice, so it's very fluffy and sweet. The only thing I dislike about coming here is that it's very busy and crowded, so sometimes it can be a battle to find a seat, and the tables are usually not that clean.
My wife and I visited Sulbing and ordered the Mango Cheesecake Sulbing and the Mozzarella Injeolmi Toast. Ordering is done through a self-service kiosk, and our food arrived within a reasonable amount of time. Both items were delicious. The Mango Cheesecake Sulbing was refreshing and not overly sweet. The shaved ice had a smooth, milky texture that melted perfectly in every bite. The Mozzarella Injeolmi Toast was excellent as well, it reminded me of a grilled cheese sandwich, but even better, with a unique sweet-and-savory flavor combination. Seating is first come, first served, so finding a table can be a challenge when the cafe is busy. Plenty of space between seats. The biggest downside is the parking situation, which can also be difficult during peak hours. Still, the food makes it well worth the visit.
Wanted to like this but came away disappointed. The shave ice was basically flavorless the ice itself had no taste, and the toppings didn't do enough to carry it. For the price and , I expected a lot more. Nice space, but the dessert didn't deliver. Probably won't be back.
Mango Cheese bingsu - The mango to ice ratio was great. Most of the flavor was on the bottom, so had to mix it well. The mangoes were more sour than sweet, maybe not in season yet. Injeolmi toast - I liked the chewiness of the mochi inside the bread. However, I personally am not a fan of dry powder and the toast was basically covered in it. Ambiance - We came here on a Friday evening after dinner and it was packed. We had to wait a bit for a couple to leave so we could take their table. The cafe is pretty spacious but just expect a crowd, and I'm sure even more in the summer.
I would say the price is good however it's not the best bingsu I've had. Maybe it's because we got the chocolate but I wasn't feeling it. I wished it had more toppings or something inside that was sweeter, but mostly it just tasted like chalky cocoa powder. Not very sweet and not in a good way. I usually wouldn't get this flavor and would get fruit so maybe that makes the difference. Was it the worst? No. The shave ice part was delicate and the portion was what you would expect. But I wouldn't attempt any chocolate ones again if I did come back here. It's lacking something. As for the inside, it's a spacious place with plenty of seating which is nice, although the music feels a little loud. The service is pretty straight forward here as you can order from a kiosk or up front, and there are screens that show which order number is finished around the restaurant. The bathroom was clean. Overall, wouldn't say it's bad but I'm not sure if I can recommend.
bingsoo with green tea, matcha sauce, red bean mochi and cheesecake cubes (sometimes you gotta take a bite first and then fix your dessert) always order the cheesecake cubes, it will never disappoint! the ice cream works great, as it doesn't melt too fast! it was so packed today, ending up sharing a table with another group been coming here for years! been telling friends and bringing them here too. on busy days, having someone help reorganize the tables helps - ie. 2, 4, 6 or other tables sizes closing the blinds on super hot days and turning up the AC with hot days i have also tried other flavors including mango, strawberry and tiramisu read more

Parking is absolutely horrible, but alas that is the fate of any plaza with good restaurants. A solid place for bingsu, but I cannot give this place any higher than 3 stars due to the price, quality, and service. I came around 6:50PM on a Saturday and there was a small line for the order kiosk. After I ordered, there were a limited number of seats since people tend to hangout in friend groups and treat it as their 3rd space, so be prepared to fight for a table if you're coming during peak times. I sat down and realized they were a whole 10+ orders behind, meaning I waited at least 25mins before getting my bingsu! I ordered a honeydew yogurt bingsu and it was $20. Inflation may be a little crazy, but this was a little above what I was expecting. It came with about 1/2's worth of honeydew. The bowl was not topped with bingsu, and I felt like there are more melons than bingsu (not ok). There were some sweet cheese pieces inside (yummy), some unsweetened frozen yogurt, and the rest was yogurt flavored bingsu. Although healthy, the bingsu itself was NOT sweet enough and I felt sick after eating so much unsweetened yogurt. I wish they gave us a cup of condensed milk like they do at every other bingsu place... Service was slow and everything is self serve, from getting your bingsu at the front to bussing your tray. I do believe there are other bingsu spots in Bay Area that give a similar experience with more variety and better pricing. I do not look forward to waiting almost 30min after spending $20 for a bingsu that's only half bingsu with honeydew layered on top. read more

Honeydew - it's kind of hard to cut the honeydew but it looks cool. The bowl is cute. The fruit was sweet Almond - it tastes very dry, almost like sawdust so it can make you cough if you accidentally inhale the powder. Strawberry - not in season so it's sour. Service takes a while because it's usually busy but it's worth the wait especially for first timers. Very pretty looking and good for groups. read more

No frills Korean shaved ice spot in Santa Clara! Quick self service ordering process, our two choices were out pretty quickly despite the cafe being almost full. Ordered the traditional injeolmi Bingsoo and the mango cheesecake Bingsoo. Both were very tasty, light and fresh! Perfect for sharing with a group of friends. read more
My family and I stopped by Sulbing after having dinner not to far from here. It had been years since my last time enjoying Korean shaved ice and since it would be a first for my little monster, we eagerly visited. The parking situation is disastrous to say the least. With all of the neighboring businesses, the lot is quite small to house all of the foot traffic coming in. Driving around in circles is a guarantee and I've never been able to locate any kind of street parking. Be patient and throwing in a quick prayer wouldn't hurt. Our weekday [Tuesday] visit occurred at about 6:30pm with only 2 other parties dining. Seating was plentiful and the shop was spacious. The menu provided differed from what was viewed on Yelp so i'd like to assume the offerings change throughout the seasons. Great because seasonal ingredients are utilized which avoids artificial flavorings but we weren't able to get the item my 6 year old wanted. We settled with: *CHOCOLATE BROWNIE SULBING *MOZZARELLA INJEOLMI TOAST **It was disappointing for Sulbing to have sold out on the honey butter bread and not being able to try the vanilla latte + cloudy latte due to the machine being broken.** The chocolate brownie sulbing was good but was skimpy on the brownie aspect. The shaved ice is light, fluffy, and perfectly sweeted with condensed milk. Each spoonful melts in your mouth. The brownie version was okay but I'd prefer a fruit version of this. Mozzarella injeolmi toast is essentially two pieces of toast sandwiching mochi center and topped off with cheese. Do keep in mind this dish is sweet as it is drizzed with a sweetener. Interesting but I wouldn't feel the need to order this again. 3 stars overall. These beauties take a bit of time to make so come here anticipating a wait. I don't even want to imagine the wait during a peak hour visit. Nevertheless, the shop is super cute and very clean but our order just didn't hit the spot. I'd come back again during the summer to enjoy the fruit sulbings- primarily the melon. read more

The bingsoo was pretty mid tier to me. For the price you pay I personally think it could be better. It wasnt very sweet and the condensed milk is now in plastic containers often spilling off of the bingsoo. I feel like they give less toppings than in the past. If anything, its less than what you see on their digital menu when ordering. This time I got the green yea bingsoo and I would advise being careful not to choke on it while consuming. The green tea icecream also tasted cheap. Kind of tasted more like avacado icecream strangely enough. If youre a fan of bingsoo in general its alright. Not my cup of tea though. read more

I got the Green Tea Bingsoo and it was alright. The presentation is great, however after we got through the top layer I felt that the inside was straight up shaved milk. It was bland until you got to the bottom half where there was a bit more green tea in it. I'd recommend holding off on pouring the condensed milk until after you get through all the powder though. The milk rolls off the bowl and almost has a hydrophobic reaction on the matcha powder. It took a while to get our order, which is understandable since it takes some time to set them all up. Its still a very refreshing treat on a hot day and isn't unfairly priced. If bingsoo is your thing it wouldn't hurt to come by now and then especially with your friends. read more
My go-to bingsoo spot whenever I had dinner at Santa Clara and my group of friends craving for something sweet after. Sulbing is actually pretty popular chain in Korea and known for their Korean style shave ice (bingsoo), so I'm very happy that they opened a store here in Bay Area. There are a lot of parking spots within the plaza, the store itself is pretty spacious, and the decoration is quite simple. I usually place my order at the kiosk, staffs were friendly and wait time is about 10-15 minutes, could be longer on the weekend. They have a fixed menu but once in a while there will be a seasonal item likes Melon, Watermelon or Pistachio Strawberry. My favorite is their Apple Mango Cheese Sulbing, the shave ice is smooth, creamy, cheesecake bites and mango sauce were delicious, but the ice cream on top was alright, a perfect dessert to cool you down on a hot day. But if you prefer something warm, I would recommend their Honey Butter Bread, crunchy thick cut of bread with creamy whip and sliced almond on top. Overall, it is a great spot for Bingsoo and hanging out with friends. read more
Went to sulbing on a Saturday night, it was busy but still able to grab a seat as parties left. We got the strawberry bingsu, comes with condensed milk already drizzled. The strawberries I think they toss it in some sugar as the strawberry on top was actually tart. I love the bingsu, it's soft and milky, very consistent here. We tried the dubai cookie but found it underwhelming. I think it was $7? Looking forward to the melon bingsu when it's back in season! read more
My new favorite dessert spot! This place has such delicious options and great music. I visited on a Tuesday evening, and the store was almost completely empty. There are plenty of tables and lovely fairy lights that add a warm ambiance to the store. You order through a kiosk, and a big TV screen lets you know when your order is ready. Since there were no customers, my order arrived extremely quickly. I tried the strawberry sulbing with yogurt balls, and it was phenomenal. It was probably my favorite sulbing I've ever eaten. The sulbing was light and fluffy, a nice contrast to the sour strawberry pieces. The sulbing also contained pieces of sweet cheese. The highlight for me was the chocolate covered yogurt balls. The yogurt was perfectly thick and tart, and it was so fun to crack the chocolate shell. I was really impressed with the portion size. While the sulbing wasn't cheap, I think 3-4 people could easily share one bowl. There were so many other delicious options, ranging from mango to pistachio chocolate sulbing. No wait on a Thursday evening but packed inside. Ordered the strawberry bowl. The food was ready in 7min. The flavor was good, but must admit paying $18 for getting a bowl of mostly shaved ice a rip off. Love to know what their margins are!!! Don't think we will return to try anything else. read more
The workers here are nice and friendly. You have to use the kiosk to order. I came late so a lot of stuff was sold out. Their restroom are dirty. The tables are also dirty, I had to tell my wife to have someone to come clean the table. The strawberry sulbing was so good and delicious not even sweet. I didn't like the Crème Brûlée because they didn't really toast the top. The matcha cream foam drink didn't taste good. I can barely taste the matcha but mostly the milk which made me sad that I want to go to Izumi Matcha to get my drink read more

Soo good!! I've been here a couple of times and their shaved ice is always really good. I've tried both the strawberry shaved ice and the mango shaved ice. The mango one came loaded with fresh mango, cheesecake pieces, and a scoop of ice cream on top. The portions are pretty big too, so there's definitely enough to share. Everything tastes fresh and isn't overly sweet. Service has also been fast and friendly every time I've gone. Definitely recommend if you're craving shaved ice or something sweet! read more

I was super excited to visit Sulbing as this was my first time trying bingsoo! We initially went last night only to find out they stop taking orders at 9:15 pm so keep that in mind. We ended up going again the next day to try it. We ordered the Premium Strawberry Sulbing and the Mozzarella Injeolmi Toast. The bingsoo was delicious and not too sweet, loaded with fresh strawberries and a big cheesecake wedge. It's especially great for a hot summer day. The portion size was good to share between two people. The toast was yummy but does have a sweeter taste profile due to the honey drizzle on top. Overall a great experience! Tried this place with some friends and it was so yummy! There were five of us and we shared the two servings which was perfect. The parking in that area is always packed but we were able to find decent parking. It was super busy so the bathrooms and tables available were limited. Great for hot days! read more
Wow, the shaved ice is so fluffy it's like fresh snow flakes. We had both the mango and watermelon and they were superb! The fruits were so fresh and sweet and the portions were just right to share with several people. Bingsu virgin here. Never heard of it and can only compare it to Hawai'i local style shave ice. We arrived at 8:38 pm and most of the menu was already sold out. At first glance, expensive! Each couple ordered their own and the husbands were in sticker shock and complaining about paying so much for ice... When it arrived, wow the portion is huge! Why didn't we order one to share for the six of us? The fresh fruit in ours was tasty. Once past the layer on top it was literally just fine white ice. I didn't pay, and I enjoyed the many laughs we had while the jokes kept coming one after the other. read more

I came here on a weekday at 6PM since I was craving bingsu. It was not too crowded and the person at the counter was helpful in recommending some of their popular flavors. However, it did take 15-20 minutes to get our order, which was a longer wait time than usual just for one bingsu order. There are a lot of tables in the store to sit at to eat and hang out with your friends, so I recommend this place if you have a large party! I ended up getting the Green Tea Sulbing. This came with green tea flavored shaved iced, 2 ice creams, and mochi pieces. I enjoyed the bingsu because it was on the less sweet side and the green tea flavor was definitely rich and intense. I shared this with 3 other people and it was the perfect amount for a late night sweet treat! This place does not have a lot of options, as they mainly just have matcha, strawberry, chocolate, and a few other flavors, so I hope to see them come out with new flavors in the future. read more
Bingsoo was light and refreshing and I enjoyed the fresh strawberries on the premium strawberry sulbing that I shared with my friends. But, at $26 (after adding injeolmi + tax + tip) for one, it felt overpriced for what we got. The slice of cheesecake included with this sulbing was pretty small and really icey. The addition of injeolmi was an extra $2 and we weren't given that much either. Shaved ice isn't usually my go-to dessert but I can see this spot being a good option for bingsoo lovers. The space itself is very roomy with plenty of seating for larger groups which is a plus. Still, I'd recommend this place if you enjoy bingsoo. read more

Great experience at Sulbing in Santa Clara! We tried the green tea Sulbing and it was refreshing, perfectly balanced, and not overly sweet. It was pretty busy when we arrived, so seating was our biggest concern, but we eventually found a spot for the two of us. If you're coming with a bigger group, just be mindful that seating can be limited during peak times. Overall, delicious dessert and a place we'd happily return to. read more

I was also looking for non-dairy options a few months ago. I don't recall too many because my wife and I shared something with milk in it.
It closes at 10, but when is last call?
9:15pm! They have a sign posted on their front door the last time I was there which was pretty recent.
What's the ice cream/sorbet flavor on the mango cheese? I had it yesterday and it wasn't vanilla. Maybe apple or lime? It was slightly tart.
Anyone know if they use Alphonso mangoes or regular mangos in their mango bingsoo?
