Always nostalgic for me since I'd come here often in high school. This place is always crowded, and understandably so since it's a good sweet treat option. Appreciate that Sul & Beans is one of the sit-down dessert spots that is open late. We came at 9pm on a Thursday and it was still full inside, but the dessert always comes out quick. We got the strawberry cheese shaved ice. The presentation is always beautiful with a generous amount of fruit and syrup. While there's better shaved ice textures out there (this one is slightly icier if that makes sense), I do still think this one is soft and fluffy enough. Spacious restaurant space with lots of seating. You order at the counter and sit down with a buzzer. Very aesthetically pleasing 3D models of each of their bingsoos at the front. The portion size is big enough for you to share with 2-3 people. However, I felt like the bingsoo was a little lacking. The ice portion isn't as milky as some other stores and overall it tasted like artificial sugar that was hard to finish. Not a bad place for bingsu but it can get really crowded. They typically only have 1-2 server so there is sometimes a wait on weekends or dinner time. I always go for the fresh strawberry bingsu and it comes with 4 mochi cubes. Sometimes the mochi is frozen cause the ice cream is too cold but their bingsu is not too sweet. You can also get extra condensed milk on the side and free water to wash it down. Green grape: tasted creamy with fresh grapes all throughout with some aloe chunks inside Black sesame: mochi on top with a solid sesame flavor Strawberry: my personal favorite because there was fresh strawberry and a bit of the strawberry jam or puree inside that doubled the strawberry flavor. Came in at about 9 on a Monday night and ordered the Strawberry and Cheese Bingsoo! Short wait with only a few people in line but quite a few orders stacked up. First time i came here I ended up re ordering so i could try another flavor (back in 2020) today I couldn't even finish the one. Not sure why but the strawberries were really sour and even though the employees were kind enough to give us another cup of the diluted condensed milk- the bing soo wasn't quite sweet enough. The cheesecake was also kind of flavorless. Overall it was pretty busy/loud in here. Service was fine but it seems like the two people on staff were also working the somi somi next door so there was a bit of a wait for everything- dessert then the extra milk then the to go container. My go-to Korean bingsu place! The shop is nice and bright, located right next to Somi Somi in the Main Street Cupertino plaza. Parking can definitely be tough, especially on weekdays, but there's a lot and garage nearby. It can get super crowded and have long wait times, but I always find that it's worth it. I've been coming here for years and the Oreo bingsu is my go-to flavor. Not only is the bingsu delicious, it's one of the cheaper bingsus in the area. Wondered in here because Meet Fresh was closed on Christmas Eve and I might have found the next best thing! It's fancy shaved ice with some extraordinary flavors. I really wanted red bean that day but the sweet corn special caught my eye so I ordered that. It was about 16.50$ (-1), which isn't cheap by any means and the wait was more than 5 minutes for take out. While waiting I noticed the shop was bright and airy with huge windows so a great place to hang with your friends while They gave me the dessert in an insulated bag and a tiny block of ice in my to go order! It wasn't summer but the addition was very thoughtful and I appreciated it. The dessert itself: worth it. No seriously. I didn't have much of a standard since this is the first time but I've had this Korean dessert, but I have had my share of shaved ice from Hawaii and Taiwan. I can confirm that the snow was great - so light that it scooped and tasted creamy. It helped that my flavor didn't have much syrup in and on it. It had from bottom to top: - the snow was sweetened in some way that is not condensed milk. I guess it was just part of the frozen mixture - snow laced with freeze dried and roasted corn - corn flakes! - healthy dollop of whipped cream with a good amount of roasted corn kernels on top It wasn't the best looking dessert but I ate it ALL. The container was the size of a large soup in Chinese takeout order and I didn't share. This place is amazing! It had been so hot lately that my friend and I were more focused on dessert than dinner. After looking around, we decided bingsu was the way to go and headed here. It's located in a pretty busy shopping center, so parking took a bit to find. Lots of food/dessert places all around. Perfect for friends, family and dates. We ended up ordering the watermelon bingsu and choux cream toast. Finding a seat also took a bit as everyone seemed to think bingsu was the perfect dessert tonight. We were able to secure a spot near the window and chatted while waiting for our order. While they did have a good amount of seating, there were many people who were still ordering and waiting, so lots of chatter all around. The noise level made having conversations possible, but slightly on the harder side. I was very happy when our order came up - and the wait did not disappoint. The watermelon bingsu had the right amount of fruity sweetness - not overly articifical sweet - and melt in your mouth creaminess. The choux cream toast was crispy on the edges, fluffy in the middle and had a good amount of the choux cream. While both were good - we preferred the bingsu as it was light and refreshing. The toast needed a little more oompf to make it stand out - whether a slightly thicker bread, slightly creamier/sweeter choux cream or something else - as it was missing something. I wouldn't say that this is my favorite type of shaved ice place. Wanting to try something new, we got this after dinner and they all look very pretty on display so we were excited. We got the strawberry cheesecake bingsoo and wanted to get toast but they were out for the day. It was a bit hot inside so we were able to get a seat outside and waited for our order. It came out decently quick and indeed looked like the display. It had a ton of strawberries on it but I think was lacking on the other parts. There wasn't even condensed milk (but sounds like you can ask for extra so maybe it was just our lack of knowledge) and not that many pieces of cheesecake. Once you go through the top part of it, it was pretty much just shaved ice and maybe the syrup if it melted through. Used to love this place but wow they have gone downhill. They didn't have mango bingsoo so I ordered the green grape one, based on the photo it was muscat grapes and looked pretty good. Orders took a long time bc they only had one employee working the register and making everything. We were so disappointed, when it was ready it was just regular green grapes and they were not fresh, the tips of them were brown like they had been bought a week ago. Spoons also looked dirty. Just a full bowl of shaved ice with several slices of fruit on top. The black sesame bingsoo had a hint of sesame. They included a very small cup of sweetened condensed milk. Unsure about the sub-4 average rating, but I'd give them 5/5 for their Injeolmi Combo which contains toast and bingsoo. Waited less than 5 minutes for our order even though there were plenty of other customers. Workers were attentive to us (asked if we were ready to order while we were debating, and gave us more time when we weren't ready) and were very polite. I'm a huge fan of Injeolmi and when I am in Korea, I also get injeolmi bingsoo. I thought the bingsoo here was soft, fluffy, and just enough sweetness and injeolmi throughout my whole bowl. I didn't like the mochi as much as I think it's a little harder than I like my mochi to be, but the crispy almonds and dates (I believe) were a great touch and adds texture. The toast was a pleasant surprise! I liked it a lot - it was crispy on the edges and soft in the middle, had a hint of honey, and almost like a mochi-like center doused with injeolmi. Crispy almonds a plus! Serving the toast cut up makes this super easy to share and eat! I love that they had this as a combo. Happy that a Sul & Beans opened here as the last time I'd been was in LA's Ktown! Parking can get hard to find in the plaza and the store itself can get pretty busy too, but we went during a slightly off time (6pm for Friday night dessert?) and didn't have any trouble - we watched the place fill up around us afterwards. Sul & Beans is known for its Korean shaved ice options (bingsu) but also features dessert toasts and various drinks on its menu. The menu is pretty extensive with various fruit options (strawberry, mango, etc) , traditional Korean flavors (injeolmi, mugwort...) , and creamy dessert classics (like chocolate!). They have little plastic models of each bingsu so you can visualize what you're getting, including the toppings (often fruit or red bean or mochi). I like that they also seem to change the menu up with new additions and seasonal flavors! When I visited (Jan 2025) I noticed a banana milk bingsu as well as a seasonal green grape flavor. Each bingsu is a bit expensive (~$12-15) but it is a generous and well balanced portion of shaved ice, flavors, and toppings. Our party of 4 was feeling dessert-y so we tried 2, the banana milk and taro flavors. Service was quick although a bit chaotic. Both the banana milk and taro bingsu were not too sweet and did not taste artificial! I like how the ice and flavor (such as taro powder on the taro) are layered - at first I thought it'd just be plain milky ice under the taro powder at the top of the dessert but I was happy to see more taro underneath. No additional condensed milk is really needed for these desserts as the flavor stands for itself. A bit of a splurge but yummy and well done. Definitely will be back when craving another icy, fruity dessert while in the South Bay. read more

Accidentally came across this one when we were in san jose and looking for a desert place to try one. Luckily we found it. So love the chocolate bingsu. Kinda sweet but still good otherwise big serving and can be good for sharing. Kinda expensive tho but so far we like it. We also tried the strawberry bingsu.
