I stopped by after picking up some dinner next door. I haven't been to a Teaspoon location in quite some time, so it was time to treat myself. After looking through the menu, I decided to get a Black Sugar Assam, as this seem closest to what I have been getting from other shops. I asked the barista if she could make it less sweet, as there was no option for that when I tried to order on the kiosk. She was very accommodating and said that while this drink didn't have a sweetness level, she could adjust the caramel - but it would change the flavor profile. Since I wasn't a big caramel fan anyway, I decided to go ahead with the adjustment. After paying for my order, I sat down and got distracted by the claw machines in the corner. After giving in (and not winning any cute stuffed animal), my drink was ready. I'm not sure how it would have tasted in its original recipe, but I was not a big fan of the drink itself. I still tasted a lot of sweetness and not much of the assam flavor. I ended up drinking only 1/3 of the drink and then tossing it. Since the altered recipe was already too sweet for me - I think it would have been even more so if I didn't ask for less sweetness. In any case - the barista was friendly and accommodating. Service was quick and the experience wasn't horrible - I just didn't like the drink. I've had drinks I've enjoyed from Teaspoon in the past, so I'll just have to pick something else next time. read more

I used to live in this neighborhood for a few years but never made it over to this boba drink place. The cashier was friendly and made suggestions. Wish I had. I really loved all the choices. My go-to Teaspoon now! Inside is very sweet smelling and I feel like I risk my life getting drinks here due to crazy drivers, but when I make it out in once piece, it's always worth it! It's also next to Shin's Tofu which is delicious! We went during the Goosebumps collab, which is coming out in junction with the new show! It's a matcha drink with a collectible cup. It was $9.25 with oat milk and my favorite the Taro Crème Brûlée was $7.25. The employees are nice and they do replace the boba with taro chunks for me! Other than that, solid drinks! read more

tl;dr Unfortunately downgrading my review after several instances of being very disappointed by the quality of my recent drinks I used to love this Teaspoon, but I will avoid it after the most recent experience with their Brown Sugar + Assam Black Tea Boba. The brown sugar did NOT taste good. I'm ready to call it quits after half of this drink. The boba itself is both chewy and firm as expected, but the brown sugar itself has a bad taste. I also have gotten the strawberry matcha drink, which has not impressed me much the past few times I've gotten it. This shop also now employs an ordering tablet as the primary method for ordering, so you don't have any in person interaction aside from someone yelling out that your drink is ready at the end. I've enjoyed them in the past and decided on this location simply because it was the nearest one to Valley Fair that wasn't closing early on Thanksgiving Eve. Parking wasn't too bad in the strip mall, ordering was straightforward, and the wait wasn't very long. I had to try their seasonal Pumpkin King ($6) with oolong. pumpkin spice cream and Biscoff cookie crumbles. The oolong is actually a great base for these sorts of drinks and it was certainly flavorful. The pumpkin spice was strong but not overpowering. I found the cookie crumbles a bit disconcerting, and they don't stay fresh for long, but they did lend an interesting pie crust effect which I haven't had before in a milk tea. I enjoyed my visit to this Teaspoon. I'd be glad to come back if I'm ever in the area and I decide that it's more convenient for me than their other locations. I like Teaspoon as a boba tea shop, and have tried several in the area. They also serve sweet treats as well, although I've never tried that, as I generally only come for a boba tea. I got the Thai tea with honey boba and it was solid, tasted pretty good although not the best I've ever had. I liked my husband's fruity Guava Sunset tea better. What made the experience here above the usual though was how sweet and helpful the girl at the cash register was, cashier Sophia was super helpful, answered all my questions with the nicest most patient way, and I totally appreciated that! The strawberry is sweet but not too sweet which is key. The matcha is whisked well and blended in together nicely. And the combination of all of them is amazing! One thing I thought was interesting about this location though was that it's very humid inside and the windows were even fogging recently. Came here to order the Silky Mango, Taro Lover, and Grasshopper. We were the only customers and drinks were done in less than three minutes and staff was super helpful. Wish they had plastic straws since these paper straws break very easily and I had one break while trying to poke it through the drink. I always am the big fan of the Teaspoon industry. My lady friend brought me a water bottle with a Teaspoon Logo on it, and I drank whatever liquid was inside of the bottle with much delight. I like the Roasted Tea Crema more. I also think they have the best Taro Boba among all the ones I've tried. The Taro chunks make it more rich in Taro flavor. I also enjoyed some of the seasonal drinks they offered in the past. I also liked their shaved ice, but it was not available during the pandemic. Recently they started offering Irvin's chips too. It's a bit pricey but they are a nice to have once in a while because of the unique taste and texture. This branch has been our Boba buddy for almost a year now ever since the pandemic started. 4.5 stars - Consistently good, with some excellent specialty drinks and fast, friendly service. Fruit teas always taste really fresh and bright here, I've never run into one that was syrupy or overly sweet. They do have only one (big) size, and the drinks are so good I don't think that's something to really complain about, but it does mean the price point is closer to the $8-$10 range with add-ons. There isn't as much variety for milk teas here, but the House Milk Tea is a solid choice and I always enjoy their boba - it's the right amount of sweet and a good chewy. Their specialty fruit teas is where they really shine - HIGHLY recommend the Paradise Lime (floral tea + lime), the Lady Bug (jade tea + passion fruit and kumquat juice) and my personal favorite, the Grasshopper (lychee green tea + cucumber juice). Unless you have a real sweet tooth, 'less sweet' will do the trick nicely for all of these. read more
