Okay so this is good but not for me. It's more focused on the Gelato and if that's your thing then you'd love it! The drinks were alright, the Pink guava was interesting and tasted good. The guava over rides the matcha flavor. I don't know how to rate the service because you order from 1 of the 2 kiosks. There is little to no interaction with people. The line is long because there's a holdup everytime someone is at the kiosk. Its a small shop with a few seats. Looks clean. Parking is plentiful but it gets busy in this plaza. I can't say I'll be back for me. I might take someone here if they're into Gelato.
Been wanting to try this place and only had room for a single drink but would like to come back to try other items Pink guava matcha 8/10 - the sweetness level was perfect (70%) but it's more guava focused rather than matcha. The cream foam is matcha flavor which is on the bitter side but once you mix it with the pink guava tea it's delicious! Very light on the matcha surprisingly. If you are not a big fan of matcha but just want a sprinkle of it, this drink is pretty decent. They also have gelato cake which is very unique and interesting, I've never seen anything like this. Will have to come back and try it out!
Matcha Town is one of the matcha places in the Bay Area that are soo good. The weekends definitely get crowded so make sure to plan accordingly when coming here. Loved the interior design- super modern and green! The matcha itself is great- i loved how we could choose our own grade of matcha for our drink! I ordered the Jasmine (grade 3..?) matcha latte with gelato which made the drink super creamy and delectable. My friend ordered the Pink Guava matcha latte and that was also amazing.
Uniqueness: Plenty of Matcha drinks & desserts that you can choose your strength and also some very beautiful cakes! Wait Time: [x][x][x][x][ ] Drink Quality: [x][x][x][x][x] Service: [x][x][x][x][x] Setting: [x][x][x][x][x] Cost: [x][x][x][x][ ] Recommendation? Anything matcha of course! Been to Matcha Town twice already and it's so much better than Izumi Matcha a few blocks away in Cupertino. The quality of the matcha here was fresh and I loved the fact that you can choose the strength of the matcha in your soft serve. If you want to mix things up, get the hojicha or even the sesame flavored drinks here and you'll be just as satisfied with those drinks as well. Out of all the desserts in this plaza, I'll definitely consider Matcha Town as a go to. Definite high recommendations from me for others to try!
MATCHA TOWN SUPREMACY!!! Been here a couple of times and I am in love with the Jasmine Matcha Salted Cheese series. I tend to do 50% sweetness and have done 0% before to get pure matcha flavor. Matcha Town clears Izumi or Matsu Matcha. The drink quality of Izumi does not compare to Matcha Town, and the gelato here is way better than Matsu's. As for gelato, the Jasmine Matcha and Hochija was delicious! Black sesame was yummy but I prefer the other flavors more. I haven't tried the other matcha % gelatos though. Please note that you cannot sample the gelato unless you purchase a cup ahead of time on the order kiosk (was told this by a worker). This place gets super busy and I understand the hype behind Matcha Town. Also the vibe of place?? It's giving designer Gentle Monster. Matcha Town is now my go-to place for matcha drinks!
I feel like I found a hidden gem when I first stumbled upon this because it was before they even announced being open and there wasn't a single reel or tiktok about them & it wasn't even on apple maps yet. I tried their gelato and the hojicha and no. 5 matcha were my favs! The tea taste for both was really strong, and the sweetness was perfect! The yuzu shiso was also surprisingly yummy. I came back to try the drinks and both the guava matcha and jasmine matcha were delicious. I think I liked the guava matcha a bit more but both were amazing. The matcha cream top was very strong in matcha flavor :) There are a couple tables inside, but with the amount of people going, it's going to be hard to snatch a table :/
I had been seeing Matcha Town all over online, so I knew I had to stop by and try it. I wanted to try one of their gelato cakes too, but unfortunately I didn't get the chance this time. I'll definitely be coming back for it though. I ended up trying the Salted Cheese White Champaca Matcha, Pink Guava Matcha, and the King Coconut Water Float, and they were all really good. The Salted Cheese White Champaca Matcha had a nice floral note that paired well with the matcha, while the salted cheese foam added a creamy, savory touch without overpowering it. The Pink Guava Matcha surprised me because the guava was light and refreshing, making it a great balance with the matcha. The King Coconut Water Float was also really refreshing, especially on a warm day, with the coconut water keeping it light while the ice cream made it extra creamy. Speaking of the ice cream, I got to sample a few of the gelato flavors, and I was honestly surprised by how unique they were. I thought the rice gelato sounded like such an odd flavor at first, but it ended up being one of my favorites. It had a subtle toasted rice flavor that was creamy, comforting, and unlike anything I've had before. I didn't end up getting a scoop this visit, but next time I'm in the area, it's definitely at the top of my list. The workers were incredibly sweet and helpful. My sister accidentally ordered a drink that came with milk and later realized she forgot to ask for a dairy-free option since she's allergic to dairy. Unfortunately, that particular drink couldn't be made with a different milk, so they helped her choose another drink instead. Since the replacement drink didn't come with matcha like she originally wanted, the worker kindly gave her a side of matcha cream to help accommodate her. She ended up loving it, and I really appreciated how thoughtful and accommodating they were. The place itself is clean, well kept, and beautifully decorated, making it a really nice place to sit and enjoy your drinks. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back the next time I'm in the area, especially to finally try one of their gelato cakes.
They have white champaca, which is a white floral tea, that was really delicious and I've never had anything like it anywhere else. Loved their green tea #5, pistachio and black sesame as well. So good! Went back a second time to get the white champaca, pistachio and the new blood orange & bergamot. The blood orange & bergamot had bits of dark chocolate and was refreshing, perfect for a warm day. The pistachio blew me away. One of the best pistachios I've had. Really loved the chocolate as well. The creamy rice had little bits of rice in it. I didn't care for this one as much. The chocolate is really amazing too. Gahhh!! So many flavors excel and I can't tell you which one is my favorite but here's my attempt at ranking the flavors I've had so far: 1. Chocolate, pistachio, green tea #5, jasmine green tea, white champaca, black sesame (in no particular order) 2. Blood orange & bergamot 3. Yuzu & Shiso 4. Creamy rice
Matcha Town...I see you!! A solid 5 ***** for me! My friend raved to me about Matcha Town and how I had to try the gelato here. She was NOT wrong... The gelato here is absolutely amazing; packed with flavor to the max, without being overly sweet. In fact, the Chocolate gelato was some of the best I had. Parking in the plaza can be arduous, the plaza gets packed. Be prepared to wait in line. The venue is not the biggest, there is a bit of room to stand around inside along with two benches, that's about it. I suppose they don't want you to hang out inside. Place your order at the kiosk. The staff is fast and efficient. When it comes to gelato, place your order and wait in line. They let you sample flavors when its your turn. I think I tried all the gelato flavors on offer, the handful of times I been here. lol GELATO FLAVORS: ~ White Champaca - 5/5 This was my first introduction to White Champaca. I had to look up what it is. Very unique flavor. Do try it out... ~ Jasmine Matcha - 5/5 You can actually taste the Jasmine, it's not just hints of Jasmine , perfectly balanced with the Matcha. ~ Chocolate - 5/5 Dark Chocolate gelato. Some of the best I had. ~ Black Sesame - 4/5 While it's very good, I had better elsewhere. Not as bold as I hoped. ~ Hojicha - 4/5 Sold Hojicha flavor. I had better before. ~ Pistachio - 5/5 Excellent Pistachio gelato, bold Pistachio flavor. ~ NO.2 MATCHA - 5/5 Brilliant Matcha gelato, without being overly bitter or sweet. ~ Yuzu - 3.5/5 Not for me, but will absolutely recommend to Citrus lovers. ~ Pineapple & Passion fruit - 3.5/5 Also not for me, on the tangier side and not enough Pineapple. ~ Blood Orange & Bergamont - 3.5/5 Again not for me, on the tangier side, but the Blood Orange comes through. Yeah... I foresee myself as a regular at Matcha Town.
Had the chance to try matcha town which was a great experience! I had heard many things about this spot before so I wanted to check it out and try it myself. This is a causal spot with not much seating, but great for ice cream and drinks! The service here is fast and the parking is there but the plaza is quite crowded. For our order we tried: * matcha guava drink - this was yummy with strong matcha flavor but when you stir the drink enough you will definitely get a nice guava flavor. * ice cream - we got the pistachio flavor and the new blood orange flavor of ice cream and this was soo yummy! We loved the combo and would absolutely come back to try this again! Cakes here are expensive but want to try this next time as well!

They had a great selection of gelato flavors, and I ended up getting the jasmine matcha single scoop, which I absolutely loved. The flavor was rich, smooth, and not overly sweet. The drinks were also pretty good with a strong matcha flavor that tasted authentic and satisfying. The interior is beautiful and very well decorated, making the whole experience feel cozy and aesthetic. Overall, I really enjoyed it and will definitely be coming back to try more drinks and gelato flavors next time.
There were so many options to pick from ranging from lattes to milk teas to gelatos. If I could physically take in all of the selections, I would but maybe some other future trips here. I went with a guava matcha milk tea because that is a combination that was different and unique to me. Upon receiving the drink, I took my first sip and was hooked. I kept sipping and sipping, and before I knew it, it was gone! The store itself doesn't have much of a hangout area. It's pretty much just a long bench area with two tables. One last thing! Their souvenirs are pretty cute!
We all know what matcha is, but what the heck is champaca? We were intrigued after watching ChonkyABG on YouTube rave about this flavor of gelato. According to Google AI, "Magnolia champaca is a large, evergreen tree known for its intensely fragrant flowers". Cooooool. They have five different levels of ceremonial matcha and unique flavors like yuzu and shiso, creamy rice, and white champaca. Stoked they offer samples! They were all so creamy and yummy, but I finally settled on the yuzu and shiso and white champaca. Two flavors come in a "single". The champaca gelato had little crunchy bits of cookie, which were quite delicious too. I love anything yuzu and shiso and this gelato did not disappoint: seemed more like a sorbet than a gelato though. We also got an iced white champaca. The white champaca was refreshing with a slight floral note. The drink definitely creeps up on you with its floral-ness as you continue to sip. Line out the door here always, but it moves pretty fast.

How can I become a citizen at Matcha Town One of the best matcha spots in the bay tbh. The taste of matcha is very strong and you can taste the quality of their matcha. The passionfruit pineapple gelato is a MUST try! The taste of passionfruit is so strong and paired so well with the jasmine matcha. Parking is annoying in this plaza and seating is super limited. read more
Speaking just for the gelato. Great texture, and the flavors were so good and pronounced. I especially loved the yuzu. Finally, a place where the flavors actually taste the way you'd expect them to, and it's delicious. There are only about four seats available, so it's not really a place to hang out. It definitely makes me want to come back and try their matcha lattes and other drinks. read more

Been here twice now. First time I tried their matcha latte, second time for their gelato. Matcha latte: 2/5- the matcha is very light and milky. I also tried the guava matcha latte. The guava overpowers the matcha, but again matcha flavor is quite light. Gelato: 4/5- I've tried several flavors of the gelato. The gelato is good and has strong flavor. I wouldn't recommend the drinks but would come here for the gelato. read more
Order was super easy on the tablet and the drinks came out quickly. I got the hojicha and White Champaca Matcha. I really enjoyed the tea flavor of the White Champaca but once I mixed in the matcha top the tea wasent as strong anymore. Next time I go back I would preferred to just get the White Champaca without the matcha top read more

More and more Matcha!!! I have been putting off coming here because the line was super intimidating, but finally caved because I needed that sweet lil treat after work! Ordering is easy and straightforward on the kiosk. Not a tonnnn of room to stand while you wait for your order since there's a small strip along the wall for sitting and otherwise a line for the gelato orders. The drinks didn't take too long and I was very happy that there wasn't a huge line when we came. The drink itself was delicious! I remember liking the white champaca when I tried it at molly tea so I figured a white champaca matcha was the move. It was floral and creamy and the exact sweet treat I was looking for!!! Honestly this is a probably a spot I will come back to for a matcha fix !!!! YIPPEE FOR A GREAT NEW SPOT!!!! read more
I stopped by for a quick dessert. The place was modern, but there were very limited number of seats. I loved their ice cream the most. I went for 3 scoops of which I liked the black sesame the most. Yuzu and shisho was a new and interesting flavor for me. As expected it was slightly sour in an refreshing way. White champaca was a good flavor as well. Omg it's so good!! I was really surprised!! Lived up to the hype. I got the salted cheese matcha float (level 2 matcha). It's high quality you can taste. I am definitely coming back. I like how they give out gelato samples so we can try beforehand. The aesthetics is nice and the line was efficient. We order on the kiosk first and then make our way down to the end of the counter. I wanna try all the gelato flavors. Perhaps too much ice tho. Might need to adjust it next time. read more
One of my new favorite places for Asian-flavored gelato! Of course, they are also well known for their matcha drinks, but what blew me away was the quality of their gelato. I liked it so much we ended up going two days in a row for a sweet treat after dinner. We came in around 7pm on a Friday and Saturday night and there was basically no line to order at the kiosk. A stark contrast from a couple months ago when they first opened. Service was quick and efficient with a separate line to sample and choose gelato flavors. I also really liked the open-air vibe of the storefront. Do beware: parking in the Cupertino Village plaza can be tough at times. Salted cheese matcha float: I was very impressed with this dessert drink! The huge scoop of matcha gelato on top essentially made it a 2 for 1, dessert + latte. And the salted cheese was subtle, which I appreciated. Assorted gelato: Really liked the creamy rice, pineapple passionfruit, and black sesame flavors! Unfortunately the white champaca gelato has pistachios in it so I couldn't try. read more
Had the Pistachio and the Hojicha gelato. Also tried the Pink Guava Matcha. I liked the Pistachio gelato more than the Hojicha. They topped the gelato with crushed pistachios. The Hojicha had a little bit more bitterness than I'd expected. Overall, the gelato was smooth. The Pink Guava Matcha drink was the best from what I've ordered. It's sweet guava flavored mild topped with matcha cheese foam. Full on guava flavor which tastes like pear and strawberry mixed together. I samples the chocolate and the rice flavor. Chocolate gelato was pretty good with rich sweet cocoa flavor. The Creamy Rice gelato tasted like rice pudding without the cinnamon. read more

Line for gelato was long but moves quickly, however by end of the night many things sold out so be wary. Only tried their matcha so, can't comment much on gelato maybe another day. 4.1/5 - Jasmine Matcha - Flowery sweet note really pairs well with the slight bitterness of the matcha. Also quite fragrant and able to pick up some jasmine/flowery smell from the drink. No clumps and matcha was smooth after mixing with the jasmine. i visited during grand opening and a few times afterwards. the interior is very modern and sleek with some seating but the walkway to the pickup counter does get a bit tight. the workers there are super nice and the drinks are made quickly! salted cheese matcha float (6.5/10): no salted cheese flavor and not very matcha-y but it wasnt bad. salted cheese hojicha float (7/10): probably my favorite item ive tried from the menu. no salted cheese flavor, but you can def taste the hojicha. pink guava matcha (6.5/10): good guava flavor but matcha was pretty light. a fruity alternative jasmine matcha (6/10): matcha was super light and the jasmine was def more potent than the matcha. king coconut water float (6.5/10): surprisingly refreshing even with the gelato. i had it with the white champaca which was actually pretty good. overall, most of my drinks were diluted and the matcha was very light. i've only tried their drinks which were pretty average compared to matchas ive had from other places. i'd be more interested in trying their gelato + cake options instead! read more
Lost count of how many times I came to buy their gelato cakes. This time we tried the Berry White Champaca and it was light and tasty! For people who have a more Western palate, this is a good choice. For people who don't like things too sweet, their Matcha Black Sesame is still my recommendation. I wrote a review before complaining about the location where the order kiosks were placed and they listened! This time the kiosks were placed in a better place. Bravo! I encountered a different problem this time, out of their control, the ordering SW seemed to have problems processing the orders and it took a long time for the issue to be reported. While the customers were fuzzing at the kiosk, there was only one staff working at the gelato counter, making it hard to get the staff attention and reporting the issue. Once it was reported, a lady came out and worked diligently on it and at some point even had to take orders by hand and paper, but they couldn't take your phone number to honor the points, which I think should be able to do at the backend when the SW was fixed. Luckily it didn't take too long for the issue to be resolved. I still don't like how the points can only redeem the toys but not gelato. They have a new product, the creamy rice gelato, I gave it a taste, thumbs up good! read more

On a weekday afternoon, there were plenty of customers coming in and out of of the matcha/ice cream shop. I ordered their Salted Cheese Jasmine Matcha drink on their self-service kiosk, and it came out within several minutes. There was a good balance of salty cheese to good quality matcha, and the drink was not too sweet! They have the smaller three-hole straws available so that you can fully enjoy the drink. Tried Matcha Town when they first opened and just tried it again yesterday -- they definitely made improvements with their drinks! A much bolder matcha flavor in their drinks, just what we want, right?! Their gelato has always been decadent. Of course their different levels of matcha are great, but a surprise stand-out is their YUZU SHISO flavor -- make sure to try it! Finally got to try their gelato cakes over the weekend. 4" cakes are around $30 while 6" cakes are $60. |Matcha pistachio gelato cake| -- definitely potent matcha and pistachio flavors that matched well together. SUPER NICE packaging when ordering a cake. There's multiple small ice packs in their cute puffy insulated bag they place the cake in. Instructions say to keep the cake in a freezer and to let it sit in fridge 30 mins. I like when icecream/gelato cakes are a bit more solid, so I just kept the cake out of the freezer for a couple of minutes and had no problem cutting or eating the cake. |Salted Cheese Jasmine Matcha|-- Loved the harmony between the dank matcha + strong jasmine flavor + slight salt of the cheese! I ordered the regular cup size of gelato at the kiosk and walked over to the gelato corner. Ethan was my gelato person and super nice and patient! I originally decided on flavors at the kiosk, but changed my mind after a few samples. I ended up choosing No. 5 matcha & black sesame. The matcha was pretty strong, but not bitter. I was scooping more of the black sesame- it was so good and nutty. Most of the gelato had a very creamy and smooth texture. I'd def come back for a sweet treat again! read more
Got lucky and came on a saturday morning and the line was short. Ordered the king coconut water float with no. 5 matcha and pink guava matcha. I'm not a super huge fan of coconut water but the coconut water float was light and refreshing! I also love a strong matcha flavor so no.5 matcha gelato was delicious!! The ice cream was the standout for me over the guava matcha. The guava matcha was good as well but I felt like the guava was stronger than the matcha flavor. The ice cream was such a pleasant surprise though--very thick and creamy. The hojicha and rice flavors were both very good but I especially liked the texture of the rice!
