I saw a line forming outside this little trailer a few weeks ago and wondered what it was, only to find out it was serving my favorite drinks, matcha! So being the foodie I am I got here at 10:30 on a Saturday to be first customer in line because I already knew this place was going to be amazing. The owners/staff were so nice, even while setting up they came over to my boyfriend and I and gave us a fist bump and asked how our day was going and thanked us for waiting, that's the type of customer service i'm talking about. I got the strawberry matcha and my boyfriend got the hojicha with vanilla cream top. Both were so fresh and my matcha was extremely vibrant while still keeping an authentic flavor. I have to say this is the best matcha I've ever had. I loved the whole vibe of the trailer and thought it was the cutest thing ever. I wish they opened earlier instead of 11am, but after checking out their instagram and tiktok I saw the owner literally makes everything fresh the same day a couple hours before they open, so props and major respect to her for that. I've heard great things about Matcha Matcha so I absolutely had to try it & I was not disappointed. I got their elderflower matcha tonic (it might actually be with sparkling water) but it was so refreshing! Be prepared to pull into the parking lot off of Saratoga because I wasn't and completely missed the driveway. Plenty of parking due to one of the buildings being empty. Line can be long but it goes by quickly and the staff were helpful in explaining their ingredients so I could avoid allergens! I love to yap when I get matcha so minus 1 star because there wasn't any where for me to sit with my drink and talk. Cute little cart serving some of the best matcha around! The line was pretty long when we arrived, but it moved surprisingly quickly. They seem to have the timing down so your drink is ready shortly after you order, which makes the wait feel much shorter. It looks like the menu changes fairly often, but on this visit I ordered the classic strawberry matcha, and my boyfriend got the yuzu matcha. Both were absolutely delicious. The matcha tasted high quality, and each drink was well-balanced without any flavor overpowering the others. My boyfriend had also tried the cherry matcha on a previous visit and said it was just as delicious. This one is top quality and the matcha blends so well with the other ingredients. As of today, they are serving out of a little trailer and the wait is long and there's almost always a line of people. But it looks like they will be opening a store and you best believe I'll be there often! The strawberry matcha is a classic combo and I was not disappointed. I had really high hopes for Matcha Matcha, but I think it definitely just fell a bit flat for us (maybe my expectations were a bit too high?) We visited on a Saturday around lunchtime and was met with a long line. Fortunately, the line moves fairly quickly and we probably only stood for about 15 minutes tops. Note - it's super hot over the summer, and there's not a ton of shade either! I ordered the strawberry matcha while my BF had the hojicha. I think I was expecting the matcha quality to be a bit more "intense" -- I think the cream top ended up taking over the flavor and the drink felt more milky than matcha-y lol. The hojicha on the other hand had a ton of depth; it was rich but texture-wise, it tasted a little too thick for my liking. Everything is whisked by hand which I appreciated (and they also sell their tins!). It looks like they're planning on opening a storefront in the same area where their trailer is. This is my second time coming to this pop up! I saw that they posted their schedule on their instagram so decided to check it out since I was in the area. I arrived before they opened at 10:50am and I got my drinks at 11:40am. I was already pretty close to the front. Definitely plan to come early to skip the line! And come prepared with sunglasses/hats since the Saratoga location does get pretty hot when you're waiting in line. I ordered the strawberry matcha with no sugar, you can definitely taste the quality of the matcha. I thought the strawberry puree would've had added sweetness already but I was pleasantly surprised to see that it tasted pretty fresh/slightly tart. Overall still tastes pretty solid for no sugar (I wanted to cut down on sugar) but if you're looking for a tasty drink I'd say get less sugar. Traditional matcha latte has the prettiest orchid blossom on top. I didn't realize I could get the matcha cream top for the same price. $8 for all drinks right now. They were running a free hojicha tin promo previously, might still be going on. Customer service was great! They're nice, patient people. Just give them the same respect, especially in this heat. Huge fan of this place! I came on a Saturday afternoon and waited a little under 30 mins for my drink. I ordered an iced matcha latte with regular sweetness and oat milk and it was perfect. It tasted creamy with good froth. You can taste the matcha flavor come through. The drinks are whisked by hand. I appreciated the fact that there's a kids menu too! I hate waiting in lines. But Matcha Matcha is one of the very few places in the Bay Area where I'll happily stand in one. The reason? Their matcha is just that good. It's not overly milky, and it's not so strong that it feels like you're drinking straight grass. If you're a matcha lover, you know exactly what I'm talking about. They somehow found the perfect balance, and I haven't found another spot in the Bay Area that consistently hits the mark like they do. Cute little matcha cart in West San Jose serving up delicious drinks for all the matcha-loving girlie pops. I stopped by on a Thursday afternoon around lunchtime (12 p.m.), and there was already a line forming. Thankfully, the wait moved quickly and wasn't bad at all. The cart is currently parked in front of Casa Carmela, and there is plenty of parking available thanks to its location, so finding a spot shouldn't be an issue. I know Matcha Matcha has plans to move to the new Spark Social San Jose location in the future, and I'm definitely keeping an eye out for that. I ordered their limited-time Cherry Vanilla Matcha, and first things first--we received our drinks within two minutes of ordering. I was impressed by how efficient the team was, especially considering the small workspace they operate in. The Cherry Vanilla Matcha was a combination I had never tried before. On its own, the matcha leaned pleasantly bitter, while the cream top was a bit chunky and fairly neutral in flavor. However, once mixed with the cherry puree, the drink really came together. The natural sweetness of the cherries shined through, while the vanilla-infused milk added a subtle floral note. I'm pretty picky with my matcha and this place is good! I've been twice but tried multiple drinks (matcha matcha, matcha latte, lemon, strawberry matcha). You can actually taste the matcha unlike a lot of other matcha places where it's just sweet. If you get the flavored drinks though, the matcha is more hidden. For example the matcha latte with sesame cold foam or strawberry matcha, it's harder to taste the matcha flavor. But that's expected as the other flavors are just much stronger. This is a very small pop-up truck so it does take a little bit longer at times to get ur drinks. And it's in a parking lot, so a grab and go. Pricing is average, but love that they charge the same price for diff drinks. Definitely one of the top matcha places in the bay that I've tried. read more

Final Thoughts: 4.50/5 Truly the cutest little matcha truck. It's a tiny little green one that sits in front of the Saratoga Plaza. My friend introduced this shop to me and I've been wanting to try them for a while now, but the timing never worked out. We were finally able to go and see how it was. Looking at reviews alone, their color of matcha looked really good, which was why I wanted to go even more. Overall, will be a solid 5 star for me. Drinks: Usucha: 4.5/5 This is the matcha americano. Essentially what this is is just water and matcha. Typically this is something that I would make for work or just on a regular basis. I like tasting the strong flavor of matcha and this drink is just on the lighter side for me given that there's no milk included. They do sell their own matchas online, so I did want to try a drink that could really have that matcha shine. This drink had a really nice deep flavor. Their drinks are very concentrated, which is something I like. Of note, my friend did mention that they do seem to lean more on having a lot of ice. This is a hit or miss for some people. I personally don't mind the ice, however, the drink itself needs to be already concentrated. This means when the ice melts, it'll be a good balance. If it is already watered down *and* there's a lot of ice, that's when Ill have a problem. This is not the case here though because they use a nice quality and brand of matcha and they provide enough of it in the drink itself. Matcha Matcha: 4.5/5 This was my friend's drink and I tried it for review purposes. It is the matcha latte with matcha cream top. Their version of a double matcha it seems. Their cream alone tastes amazing. Love the flavor of the matcha. The base of their matcha is also really good. Nice balance of nuttiness, umami, and sweetness. I really like their ratio of matcha, to milk, to sweetener. Matcha was super creamy smooth, which I also really enjoyed. Menu: Small Menu Their menu is quite small. I'm not sure if they have plans to expand the menu, but with their current menu, there are 6 items under their lattes, 2 items under non-lattes, and 2 drinks on the kids menu for the little ones or for anyone that does not want the caffeinated drinks. They seem to make these items well. Honestly, if I had it my way, I would definitely order the menu just to make and try the flight of them. Note: Capping When your name is called, they put out the drinks on the tray, but the drinks are not capped. You cap them yourself. Caution to carefully cap it and properly snap on the lid, so it doesn't spill. --------- Quality: Delightful I really like the matcha powder that they're using. Highly likely that it is the one on their website, so I will be buying them sometime when I have depleted my current tins. The color is nice, bright, and rich. The flavor is nicely balanced. Not too umami, there's a slight nuttiness and sweetness, just how I like it. Price: Average Your average matcha cup is around $7-8 these days +/-1 for the additional toppings and substitutes. Their process does take a while because they finish with one customer at a time. This means they take your order, make it, and then move onto the next customer versus one person taking multiple orders and then having people in the back work to make the drinks and finish the order. This process probably helps them manage mixing up orders within that confined space. I like that this process allows us that time to take pictures of the drinks before capping them and taking them away. Ambiance: Outdoor Vibes It was a nice sunny day outside and I probably needed the vitamin D. Note to bring sunglasses, sunscreen, and maybe an umbrella if you need. I was lucky I went when there wasn't a line but the drinks were just subpar. The matcha whisked well so there were still clumps when drinking it. Like another reviewer mentioned, the workers don't even put the lid onto the drinks. They kinda just watch you put on yourself and only help if you ask but even then, meh customer service tbh. LMAO. Staff was friendly and it was cool to see them whisk the matcha right in front of you! I've been seeing matcha matcha online and had my eye on it for a while, so I knew where to go Tuesday morning when I had a craving for some good matcha. They opened at 11, and I came by around 11:30 and there was a line of about 10 people in front of me - I waited about 25 minutes. They do whisk each drink to order, so each person/party places their order, they make the drink, and then they take the next order, but it still moved reasonably quickly. The truck was located on the side of the road, and there are some benches/tables outside on the grass that are a convenient place to put your drink down, take some pictures, and maybe sit for a bit with a small group. Drinks are all $8, which is a bit pricey, but the quality is definitely there. I got the cherry vanilla matcha, which seems to be a seasonal special - it's a unique flavor combination I haven't seen before so I was a little scared that it might not work, but I actually enjoyed this; it almost tastes like a creamy cherry vanilla soda that blends surprisingly well with the slightly savory vegetable matcha that they use. I do find that the cream top didn't seem to add much to the drink for me, and I would have preferred it without the cream top, or perhaps with a matcha cream top instead. I did also find some small bits of what seemed to be 2-3 bits of cherry pit or stem in the drink, but nothing too bad. Overall, a really tasty treat with a good quality, strong matcha. The thick whole milk foam on top made it extra creamy and indulgent. You can definitely tell the ingredients are high quality, and the drink was beautifully presented. It was a sunny Saturday afternoon, when my partner and I had to stop by this matcha pop up. It was rather dissatisfying. There was a huge line, but it moves incredibly slow and to top it off the matcha wasn't even that good. It is as if they ran out of sweetener because all of our drinks were bitter. They also ran out of the strawberry jam, but they didn't warn anyone in the line that they ran out. Imagine all I wanted was a strawberry matcha, and lo and behold they don't have anymore. It would not be too hard for one of the three employees to just warn the line that they ran out. Though the matcha looked like it would be so good, it ended up being just all ice and pretty mid. 2.5 stars: Definitely not worth the long line. As everyone already stated, the matcha flavour itself is superb. They do a fine job of balancing the flavours in their drinks. However, I don't find myself justifying the wait time when you can obtain matcha of the same quality or even better at other places. One should opt for stopping by when the hype dies instead! Also, they fill the cup with ice completely; i.e., the ice is beyond the brim of the cup. So the ratio of ice to drink is like 70:30. You'll be done with your drink before you know it. I did inquire about less ice, but the worker says they do not adjust ice for their drinks. I was quite adamant on less ice (simple preference) and he said that they won't fill the drink all the way. Apparently they do less ice then? Seems like the workers aren't on the same page. So, for good knowledge, less ice drinks won't meet the 75% mark of the cup--which basically means, overall, this place does not give you your money's worth. My last trivial comment is that customer service can use some work. read more
