No line on a Sunday around noon. I'm not a big fan of matcha, so I went for the black sesame and matcha swirl. The matcha didn't have a bitter taste, and was really good with the black sesame. My only complaint is that I could see my ice cream was already melting and dripping before I even picked it up from the counter. My friends, which came up next, was fine so maybe the machine just started up?
Been wanting to try Izumi Matcha for a while now. Since we were in the area, we decided to finally check them out. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon recently. The cafe is located in a nice plaza in Cupertino off Steven Creek Blvd. Parking is accessible in the large parking out front. The modern cultural decor is simple. The vibe is welcoming and bustling. There are no tables inside but there are plenty of tables and chairs outside in the communal patio. We ordered 2 creme brûlée matcha swirls. There were delicious and refreshing. The swirl presentation in the cup was nice and different. The flavor was unique but in a scrumptious way. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Izumi Matcha. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I appreciated the family friendly and inviting atmosphere both inside and outside in the communal patio. Thank god we did not have to wait in a line for the kiosk. Price point was fair. We hope to be back to try different drinks from the menu.
I don't even live here but wow this matcha is heavenly! I love that they use Marukyu Koyamaen and that you can even purchase it too! The drinks here have a strong matcha flavor which I like My favorite is the matcha crème brulee drink. It's definitely on the sweeter side and almost feels like a dessert... but it always satisfies my sweet tooth. so good that I always ask my bf to freeze it and bring it down to socal! I've been searching for a dupe of it but have not been successful quite yet Service is standard and the interior is very clean and cute (I love all the smiskis and sonny angels hanging around). Highly recommend and am forever craving izumi
The matcha here is legit, it feels like you got transported to japan! We tried the crème brûlée matcha and it has chunks of crème brûlée in it. So delicious! Loved the matcha quality. This is definitely a decadent selection but worth it. Would love to try their other options too as well as the Hojicha soft serve which was my favorite j. Japan!
Luckily the line wasn't bad the day we went. I like tea lattes and this was near where we had dinner. Lots of choices. We picked Honey matcha latte and Kuro hojicha latte at the end. Made efficiently. This place is packed but they have a system. Could tell they use decent powders. Both were perfect amount of sweetness. Good flavors. It satisfied my drink craving. Would come back. Grab and go style. Not a sit down kind of place.Private lot in front though.

They were taking orders at the counter and via one kiosk (the other was down), so the wait wasn't bad. The drink menu has a lot of Americanized options. Combining matcha with strawberry or yuzu isn't something you see in Japan. I tried the Honey Matcha Latte to get a purer matcha taste, but the honey flavor was a bit too strong and masked the matcha. For my taste, honey isn't the best sweetener for matcha. They emphasize their high-quality matcha, but it was hard for me to tell. The speed of service was excellent. The drinks came out quickly, and the staff were all energetic and working hard.

It's a grab and go kind of spot, although there are some outdoor tables. I've gotten the Strawberry Matcha Latte and Creme Brulee Matcha Swirl, both were tasty and flavorful drinks. I've haven't been disappointed with a drink that I've gotten here. They use Marukyu Koyamaen matcha powder, which is high quality. If you love matcha, Izumi is definitely worth checking out, just anticipate to be waiting in a line to order.
I come here pretty regularly for their matcha drinks. My go-to is the honey matcha latte with oat milk. They give you the option to put double matcha (for the honey matcha latte) which is a plus! The double shot of matcha and the honey pairs really well together. It has the perfect amount of sweetness and a perfect amount of matcha to make it taste rich without being bitter. The strawberry matcha latte has strawberry puree and strawberry bits which makes it taste really sweet. It's a really good contrast of flavors and an overall solid strawberry matcha latte. They also updated the self-ordering kiosk with 2 instead of one now, so there's barely any lines now compared to when they first opened. The drinks are a lot quicker so you don't have to wait too long. There's also no seats inside but there's plenty of waiting space on the outside patio! Overall I would highly recommend this place for matcha lovers. Their matcha is super rich in flavor and they have a lot of options. Sometimes, they also have matcha powder in stock too! The spot is also right off of 280 so it's pretty convenient.

My kids ordered the Crème Brûlée Matcha Swirl which is made with their house made crème brûlée, yum! My drink was refreshing and you can taste the blend of all the flavors. I took a sip of their drinks and it was a little jealous because it was so good! It wasn't too sweet either. So I guess you can say that we'll be back?

I thought my Yuzu Matcha Tea was a little too sweet at the recommended sweetness, but I can see myself loving it next time if I order less sweet. We waited about 10 minutes to get in, order, and leave with our drinks. It was worth the wait and was about $7.37 a drink. No places to sit inside, but there are tables outside.
I am disappointed to update this review as my husband got this to go for me recently and their creme brûlée matcha swirl drink was not good at all, it tasted like a slushee with matcha in it vs a creamy matcha flavor. It used to have good amount of brulee and matcha cream but that wasn't the case this time. I am not sure if they changed their recipe or if it was a bad batch. Disappointed though as I loved this spot
Izumi has been my favorite matcha spot for a while! I've been coming here since it opened. This is a to-go tea shop, so there's no seating inside. You order at a kiosk and wait for your name to be called, then pick up your drinks at the counter. There are some benches outside in this plaza, so if you want to sit, you can. Their matcha is exceptional, and although the line can get very long, they are so efficient that your drinks are ready in no time. I'd say the longest part of the process is waiting for someone to place their order at the kiosk. As a vegan, I stick to the fruit teas like Strawberry Yuzu Matcha Tea, Red Dragon Refresher, Lychee Matcha Tea, and Yuzu Matcha Tea. However, prior to becoming vegan 3-ish years ago, I did try the Crème Brûlée Matcha and Okinawa Hojicha Latte. Each drink is delicious in its own way, and I love that the matcha shines regardless of the flavor you choose. During my recent visit, I had the Strawberry Yuzu Matcha. The screen suggested keeping it as is instead of choosing "less sweet," so I stuck with the original. I liked it, but next time I'll definitely go with less sweet. It wasn't a sugar bomb, but it was a bit sweeter than I prefer. read more

Short line and they make your drinks quickly! This place is nice bc they let you do a double shot of matcha without an extra charge. Strawberry matcha was good and not too sweet. Good balance of the flavor. Matcha taste smooth and not chalky Lots of parking available in the plaza but not too many seating areas. Definitely come and go type of spot. read more

Hands down the best I've ever had. I always get the honey matcha latte and add some matcha soft serve on top so I can have the best of both worlds. My drink is about $10 but I don't come here often. Other favorites are the soft serve on it's own and creme brulee matcha. The line may be long but once you order your drink comes out pretty quick. My only gripe here is no online ordering. If you see them online it's probably the Silver Creek location. The drinks are good but I can inhale my whole drink in a few sips. Don't even think about sharing you get a lot of ice and can't modify. Still my fav in all of the Bay. read more
I've been here a couple of times and tried their various offerings including the drinks and ice cream and the drinks with ice cream. Always consistent in quality and flavor, no surprises here. I like their black sesame ice cream, though I wish the cups were a big enough to hold the scoop, instead of dripping all over. Otherwise a good spot for your matcha fix! read more

I brought my visiting cousins and they really liked the inside and kept taking pictures I myself got the crème brûlée matcha swirl. I'm not a big matcha drinker but theirs was pretty good. I've always seen a massive line outside but it usually looked like it went by relatively quickly. Took about 20 minutes on a weekend. Walk in and order on the kiosk. On occasion, if the line gets too long, they start calling you to the register when you get inside. They also sells ceramics, which is on display indoors - I saw a lot of bowls. Upon looking through some yelp reviews, the creme brulee matcha swirl and the honey matcha latte seemed popular. The creme brulee matcha swirl was good, but the creme brulee (syrup? caramel?) was way too prominent - if you like chewy chunks of creme brulee caramel throughout your drink, this is for you. Personally, I enjoyed the matcha shake texture, but wish you could order this drink without creme brulee, or at least adjust how much was in there. The honey matcha latte was great actually. Not too sweet, solid earthy matcha flavor - would definitely get this again. Honey adds a nice subtle sweetness to it, but isn't overpowering. Definitely add the free matcha shot, I don't think it would taste strong enough without it. As it stands, I feel like it could be even stronger. read more
Can't go wrong with Izumi! It's a very convenient spot to grab a quick matcha soft serve fix. The line is usually long, but sometimes I get lucky and catch it when the crowd is smaller. I think it's good that Matcha Town opened nearby - now people can stop clogging up the lines here LOL Personally, I think the matcha flavor in the drinks isn't strong enough and could use an extra matcha shot. I get why this place is always so busy. The matcha is genuinely stellar. I visited on a Thursday evening, and there was no line, which was a surprise. During my previous visits, there was always a line out the door. You order at a kiosk, which means limited interaction with employees. The service was extremely fast. My friend and I both got our treats minutes after we ordered. There is no indoor seating but there are plenty of benches outdoors. The interior is minimally decorated, and I noticed a wall full of gorgeous, handmade pottery. The treats here were so tasty! My friend tried a Classic Honey Matcha Latte, which she stated had a deep matcha flavor. I tried the matcha and black sesame soft serve. I'm not even a huge black sesame fan, but this black sesame flavor was addicting. It was nutty, creamy, and probably the best black sesame taste I've ever had. It wasn't a really strong black sesame flavor (which might be why I liked it so much). The subtlety in flavor helped with the richness of the soft serve. The matcha soft serve was equally delicious, a vivid green color. It once again wasn't super in-your-face with the matcha taste, so if you like a stronger flavor, this may not be your favorite soft serve. I really enjoyed my experience/dessert here and would absolutely visit again to try some of their famous drinks! read more
I can confidently say that Izumi Matcha is absolutely worth the hype and yes, even the long lines. Their matcha quality is genuinely on another level. You can taste how fresh, smooth, and vibrant it is compared to most places, which is why I keep coming back again and again. I've visited more times than I can remember, and I'm always more than willing to make the 30+ minute drive because it never disappoints. The shop itself is on the smaller side and you don't get much traditional service since ordering is done through an iPad, but honestly it doesn't take away from the experience. While waiting in line, I love looking at their display of matcha tools, it's beautifully set up and makes the whole space feel authentic. If you're a matcha lover, this place is 100% worth the trip. read more
I was visiting the hello kitty store sanrio next to this matcha spot, I figured not a long line, let's go in and check it out. . After a short 10 minute line i have decided to just go with a matcha with cold foam on top. The matcha was really good and earthy and isn't bitter or like have an after taste. I would get the strawberry matcha next time to try it out. . The inside ambiance is minimal with no seating, just a kiosk to line for to order and pay. The drink wait was fast like 5 minute or so. They were busy and they can handle the long crowd. . Overall if I'm in this plan and craving a matcha, I would totally get one. Hope this review helps and thanks for reading. Finally got to try this and it did not disappoint! The Creme Brulee Matcha Swirl is surprisingly good. The matcha delivers a smooth, slightly bitter depth, while the creme brulee swirl adds a rich, caramelized sweetness. The texture is creamy with just the right balance. A great treat for matcha lovers who want something a little more decadent. Will definitely come back! read more
I have been here a million times, and each time, the quality was consistent, and I always left happy! Out of all the matcha places, Izumi is definitely one of my top favorites. They also offer a free extra matcha shot in your drink if you'd like. They also sell extremely beautiful matcha bowls, whisks, and matcha powder from Japan! I haven't been able to purchase the matcha powder because it's always sold out, but maybe one day! Lines are long during popular times, but service is decently fast! Parking is in the plaza, and theres also lots of other stores to walk around to. read more

The flavoring of the strawberry doesn't mix well in the drink. Once the strawberry compote is finished the flavor drastically changes. I feel like this is the reason why I give it low rating. The matcha itself is alright. The creme brulee matcha is very sweet and is more so an ice cream than a drink. Good enough to try but I wouldn't go back. The service is fast with an ordering kiosk which is accessible friendly and drinks come out after 5 minutes. The interior is cute with the smiskis, gives a great community vibe. read more

I'm obsessed with matcha and finally got a chance to try this place. The line was really long for a saturday afternoon, but the wait was fast. You order at the kiosh, and the staff there just makes your drinks, so there's really no interaction with anyone. The place was small and clean, with lots of people standing around waiting. I got the honey matcha latte with oat milk, and it was so good. The drink didn't even make the ride home. It was already finished before I even got to the freeway. Can't wait to go back soon. read more
We're glad to stop by here to enjoy the drinks and soft serve. They are excellent! Strawberry Yuzu Matcha drink: 50% ice, less sweet. Dragon fruit refresher drink, 50% ice and less sweet ~ toddler enjoying. Black sesame soft serve ~ toddler loves. I wish the drinks could be served without ice or with a little ice, as they are still too cold to drink during winter. They have one self kiosk, but it's kind of slow. The front desk staff take orders when they are not busy. The plaza has parking available. read more
Very busy matcha shop at Cupertino. Everytime when we visit, there's always a line. Usually it will take about about 15 min to 20 min wait time especially on the weekend. They only have cold matcha and ice cream as I am aware of. I always order Yuzu matcha or strawberry matcha. Both are good. Strawberry matcha is famous and always available at many matcha shop. Strawberry match is kind like the standard cold matcha. One thing I just feel it should reduce which I which They can is the sweetness. It is good the bitterness of the matcha is not there. read more
I ordered their Strawberry Yuzu Matcha based off a recommendation from a friend. It's the perfect drink if you like a mix fruity, some tartness, sweetness and a bit earthly flavor. Absolutely delicious! When we got there, there was a line out the door, but it moved relatively quickly and we also got our order very shortly after ordering. Finally got to try this place!! I came on a Wednesday late afternoon around 3pm. Lots of parking and there was only about 3-4 people in line. It's a self checkout kiosk with their drink menu, ice cream, and Matcha in a can to take home. I ordered two of their drinks. Crème Cheese Hōjicha Tea and Honey Hōjicha Latte with Oat milk instead. Super delicious. The Crème Cheese Hōjicha Tea has a nice balance of sweetness, and that matcha refreshing taste. I heard it was super sweet, but it wasn't too bad! I did take a sip of the Honey Hōjicha Latte with Oat milk, which I will be saving for tomorrow, and it's also very tasty. I taste the roasted tea especially on the aftertaste. Everything tastes very premium and high quality, so it does not disappoint! I definitely will be back to try their ice cream. Ambiance, it's very spacious. It's like they have this big open space where people can just stand and wait for their drinks, but I think maybe having some seating area in the middle would have been nice, or a bar seating window to chill. I'm just assuming it's a space because I heard it gets super busy, so maybe that's the space for? Overall, great experience. Staff are friendly. read more
Wait was not too bad on a Sunday afternoon recently. The line to order was only a few people long inside the store, and I think I waited less than 10 minutes to order and about another 10 ish minutes to get my drink. Compared to my last visit to the Silver Creek location, this was a lot faster. My favorite Izumi drink is definitely the crème brûlée matcha hurricane. I think the cream pairs so well with the earthy matcha! Unfortunately I'm not sure if it's usually like this at this location, but the drink had quite a few big chunks of ice in it for me. It did seem like they were rushing the drinks, but I'd rather them prioritize quality and have me wait a few extra minutes than sacrifice that for quantity. read more
I was less impressed by my second visit to Izumi after my friend's powerlifting competition. As I went to check out, I noticed the point of sales ordering platform this location used was Chowbus, and apparently, it had stored my outdated contact information from before I changed my legal name. When my drink was ready, the staff announced my order using my old name. I informed them I go by a different legal name now and asked how to update it in the system. The staff was not helpful and rushed me along, saying they don't know how to change it. Later I tried contacting Chowbus customer support numerous times to correct my contact information but without success. I'm not super keen to return here knowing that the store's Chowbus platform will, by default, deadname me, and no one in-store or affiliated directly with Chowbus can provide me with a solution to correct my information. read more
My son and I came here to try the matcha ice cream and black sesame ice cream. Both were delicious and we liked the black sesame better than the matcha ice cream. We finally made it here yesterday and the line wasn't too bad as the last time we tried to come, the line was way too long so skipped. I would come back and try a drink next. We were too full from lunch to get a drink, so we opt for ice cream instead. I can't wait to come back and try a drink. There is no tables or seats inside to sit. However, there is benches outside that you can sit to enjoy your drink or ice cream. read more

- the line filled the store on a Friday night but it moved quickly and our drinks came out quickly as well! - no seating inside - we thought it was interesting that the matcha lattes were sweetened only by honey (1) matcha latte: the honey was strong and initially overpowered the matcha, it almost made it taste too grassy? Matcha itself was excellent quality and it was smooth! Eventually the honey taste blended in nicely (2) cheese foam matcha tea: the base is just matcha with no milk and I loved it! It mixed well with the thick cream cheese tasting foam. The honey here was a nice touch with the cheese, it all tasted well together read more

Trying to understand the calories for the strawberry matcha latte (less sweet). May i ask approximate how many oz of milk is being used? also sugar? I saw online recipe for honey matcha, it needs 12oz milk. even with iced?
