Mango Bingsu
Jo P.

Cute place, it was packed but by time we left all the tables were full. Has a lot of variety on the menu. I enjoyed our snow ice, a very shareable portion.

I've been wanting to try bingsu for a while, and this place satisfied my craving! It is definitely large enough to share between 2 people. The mango was ripe and sweet, mochi was nice and chewy, and the vanilla ice cream on top was quite flavorful. The snow ice itself had less flavor than the vanilla ice cream, but when all eaten together it was really delicious. They've got quite a few tables inside, there were several groups here on a Saturday night. Would come again if I were craving bingsu and in the area!

Came here for the first time to do some studying. I wasn't too sure if it would be a good study spot since I hadn't been before but it worked out nicely. There's a good amount of tables and outlets nearby. I went in the late afternoon on the weekend and it wasn't busy either. The drinks were refreshing. I got the lime mojito and would definitely recommend. I also tried their ham and cheese sandwich. I wish they would have updated photos or a description of the food items. I didn't expect the sandwich to come with mustard and pickles (two things I don't enjoy too much). I would want to come back and try some of their desserts next time though!

Nice walnut desserts with walnut inside and different flavors red bean, Nutella, cream cheese, hot dog. I had only tried the original red bean but today I tried the other flavors and they were all good. Maybe not the hotdog haha. I got a gift box to give a friend of mine. I also got the matcha latte with oat milk and it was good, kind of small size. Overall a really nice cafe to hang out and the walnut desserts are really good.

We were feeling snacky so coffees, 21 cocohodos and a vanilla ice cream were ordered. Everything was made well and we got to see the process of them making the walnut pastries. It was nice to try it again~

Today I was just looking for something new and simple to satisfy my usual matcha green tea craving on a Saturday morning. Downtown San Mateo didn't work out due to the congestion and protesting, so I end up in this part of town. A random pick seeing the good reviews and I am not disappointed so far. Right next door to Han Kook market on El Camino. Plenty of parking and as soon as you go inside, you are greeted by spaciousness and calm vibe with light K-pop in the background. I thought their menu was interesting, but I was just focused on getting one item and ended up with hot Green Tea Latte for $5.45 Staff that assisted me said my drink was composed of matcha green tea powder + vanilla powder and sprinkled with some sea salt in top. Not a bad concoction! I'll definitely be back for more because my small cup was gone like the wind. I like how there's plenty of small square tables for two and a few round tables for 4+ seats. A plus that they have a small hallway that leads to his and her bathroom. Only downside of this place is that their electrical outlets are far and few so bring your laptops charged or portable chargers if you plan on staying here longer! Overall a decent find today and recommend everyone to stop by here!

This place stinks, literally. The sewage smell permeates the entire restaurant especially in the back near the bathrooms and kitchen. Despite the stench, the place appears clean and well decorated. The staff is friendly and seems to work hard. O feel bad for them needing to breathe that all day long. It's gross and probably bad for you. The berry bingsu came out quickly and was actually very good. The ice was nicely sweetened and the fruit was fresh and sweet. The ice cream, I suspect, came from the Costco freezer. I'm going to let you look at the picture and see if you see what we see. The berry waffle took a while but wasn't worth the wait. The waffle was kind of undercooked and had minimal flavor. The whole thing had too much whipped cream and a watery sweet sauce. It had the same ice cream as the bingsu. I may go back for the bingsu if they fix the ambiance and stench.

Our family loves Cocohodo!! We haven't been here for a minute now since we longer live near Sunnyvale. We love eating their walnut pastry. The adults loves the original which comes with red bean filling, and the kids loves the nutella flavor. So good..perfect bite!! We ordered the large bag which comes with 21 pieces, and it's always gone within a day. We also ordered the Mango Bingsu and it was so good!! Refreshing and delicious we devoured it. It was so good. Love how the service is quick and the staff are friendly. I love how there are plenty of place to sit on and enjoy your walnut pastry and Bingsu. They also serve coffee If you want.

We came here for some post dinner dessert on a hot day and it really hit the spot. The shaved ice was a manageable size! Normally they are just waaay too big. They had good flavor options and it tasted great! It was end of night so they didnt have many walnut pastry options left. But the ones we had were delicious. I would try to get there earlier in the day for fresh ones!

Spacious tea store, clean and nice. Service was fast. Staff is very nice to let me try a cocohodo because it's my first time.

Mango Shaved Ice
Chinmay S.

Nice cozy dessert place serving shaved ice and unique walnut shaped pastries with red beans, Nutella and other fillings. We had the Mango Bingsu. Pretty decent serving size although may not be commensurate for an almost $18 dessert. We enjoyed it but some pieces of mango were hard and lacked flavor. Overall, pretty good. Service was quick but TBH lacked warmth - probably because we came 20 mins before they closed for the day.

Elsie Y.

Friendly service and the berry bingsu was good. The waffle in the ice cream waffle item was undercooked and overpriced for the quality. There are plenty of tables and the space is modern. However, the foul sewage smell permeating this space makes dining here unbearable. They need an inspection to figure out the source, better ventilation, and an air filter.

Grain Latte
Jonathan L.

It has been a long while since I've dropped by this location. It's surprising because usually I'm in this plaza to shop @ the Korean grocery market. This time around I ordered the hot grain latte. It was cold outside so I figured something hot is good. The temperature was ok. It was more like between warm and actual hot. They also have these cool walnut shaped hotdog bites which I enjoyed very much. Long ago I remember trying the sweet version with red bean paste in it. But I find the hotdog one more delightful! It is also a nice place to be able to sit and have a chat with your friends and family. There are people but there wasn't super crowded or anything. I would definitely comeback again for all of the above. :)

Mango Shaved Ice - I don't think they used fresh mangoes

Do these need to be refrigerated? Trying to see if I can take them on a plane back home to Hawaii

The red bean and Nutella ones definitely don't

Do they have wall outlets?

Yes. Lots of outlets there.

Does Cocohodo offer milk alternatives such as almond or coconut milk? Thanks,…

Yes, they have soy milk available! It costs a little extra, but the option is there.

Is this place quiet enough to have a relaxed conversation, even when it's busy?

Night is a bit more busy and a little more noisy but good enough for a conversation.

I've only ordered their espresso drinks; they know how to properly steam and pour the milk for espresso art, and I'm a fan of the lavender latte. Service: You order via a kiosk, so interactions with the servers are a bit limited, but if the queue for either kiosk is long they'll call you over to the register directly to take your order. I haven't had any qualms with their service. Ambiance: It's a bit of a darker vibe with amber-colored wooden tables, dark paint on the walls, concrete flooring, and slightly subdued but ample lighting, but I find it aesthetically pleasing. They also sell some miscellaneous goods (Korean wellness products?) on the side near the register, which I found to be an interesting decision. Other than that, it's a nice place to sit down and work on stuff, and there is plenty of space to do so. Overall: I like Big Mug as a neighborhood coffee shop that offers a good latte, and I'm sure I'll be stopping by again in the future.

This place is pretty cool, it seems like a 3rd place for people which we lack in this time. A place where people can hang out talk and just engage. Pretty cool atmosphere.

1484 Halford Ave Santa Clara, CA 95051…read more This was my first visit to Baker's Village in Santa Clara. It was a warm day, and I was drawn to this bakery by their fruit smoothies. It was near 5pm. I walked in and the place was empty. The gentleman behind the counter greeted me. I asked for a strawberry smoothie, then walked around to survey all the baked goods. It's a small bakery with lots of trays of individually packaged cakes and pastries. The smell was very pleasant and comforting. Using a flat basket (or tray) I grabbed a few selections. I picked 2 "Heart Pies" that resembled my favorite French Butterfly Cookies. Also 2 pound cakes. The total rang up to just over $21. There's some small tables for enjoying your purchases there, but I took my items to go. The icy cold fruit smoothie was very good and very cold! Not too sweet, it had a natural strawberry taste. The Heart Pies were good and fresh. But the Pound Cakes were probably "day old." I noticed there's no dates or "best by" tags on the packages. It's a nice place to visit, and I will return again. Wisely, I checked Yelp reviews first because some deals can be too good to be true. It's hidden gem off El Camino and near Lawrence Expressway where those that know good Korean baking have this spot on their short list of preferred places. I arrived a few minutes before my scheduled pick up time and Korean grandma behind the counter was super pro, teaching me how to confirm check in and gave me a mixed bag of baked goods with/without fillings. If you like surprises, are omnivore & no special diets or food allergies, Too Good To Go is the way to explore. The items were in generic packaging without labels, so take a pic of the items you like so can order when visit next time. While my family enjoyed all the items, I really enjoyed the black sesame studded puffy rolls that I think were made with rice flour. There was a large group of older Asian ladies, including one who brought their lap dog, enjoying good conversations in their native language with their baked goods and tea or coffee. Another gentleman was taking a video call to help decide the best cake to buy. Will add this bake shop for a place to have a coffee meeting and to favorite in Too Good To Go.

I thought I would like white Champaca since it's oolong plus jasmine, but here we are. My friend's favorite is the iced DanCong and he got the snowy version with jasmine whipped cream and pecan topping, 70% sweet. Tasted great!
