I happen to see this bakery after lunch when I was walking around the Strawberry Park shopping center. I went in to check it out. It's a Japanese style bakery with sweet and savory pastries, sandwiches and onigiri. They had two long shelves of baked goods. Everything was displayed nicely. All the baked goods looked amazing. They also sell drinks and spam musubi. I grabbed a tray and tongs and picked some pastries to try tonight at home. I got a mini apple pastry, sweet potato butter bread, custard cream cornet, a custard creme danish and a blackberry danish. Everything looked so good. There are tables or chairs inside. This is a grab and go cafe and it's very convenient if you need a quick bite and are on the go. I got in line to pay. I quickly made it to the register and paid. The employees were so friendly and polite. I'm so glad I stopped by here today. Update: We tried these last night (2/12/26) and they were all amazing. Not overly sweet either. Loved it!

I've been a regular at Clover Bakery for many years and it's my favorite Japanese bakery. Their bread is always fluffy and soft, and the variety of offerings keeps me coming back. My favorite is their mentai masago pan, yakisoba pan, and their katsu burgers. They sometimes sell out of different breads throughout the day and replenish them. They also sell onigiri's and drinks. I've also ordered a full cake to celebrate a birthday before. I've tried most of their items and have enjoyed everything! Servers are always nice and friendly. The shop is kind of small and there's frequently a line on the weekends. Parking lot can get quite full since it's the same plaza as Mitsuwa, Daiso, and many other restaurants.

Clover Bakery is a cute Japanese bakery with plenty of options. The plaza itself is busy on weekends. Parking may be difficult to find. The bakery has a lot of foot traffic. Multiple items were sold out in the afternoon but staff were working to restock some items. Onigiri is reasonably priced and cheaper in comparison to other markets. Staff was helpful and quick despite the line growing overtime. Will be returning for the delicious onigiri and amazing price for value.

Their bread isn't the fine fusion Japanese French bakery you'd think of (due to the danishes, croissants, etc) but instead purely Japanese and its goals of milk bread galore. For example, their croissant is literal milk bread...not flaky layers of buttery deliciousness. Their Japanese milk bread is weak and not chewy either (but when attached to stuffing, the bread goes well). However their musubis, onigiris, and sandos are although pricey, fabulous. The assortment and well mix of flavors should be enough to get you through their doors. Originally, I was against purchasing their sandos (because c'mon now... simple ingredients and the hefty price tag?) until I saw a group in front of me purchasing literally 6 strawberry sandos (they are tiny!!! With crusts cut off, filled with strawberry cream and fresh sliced strawberries and sliced diagonally, it's $2.50! Now I'm a firm believer and purchase at least one every single time I'm here. In the past, this place used to be a madhouse due to TikTok... these days, on the weekends, there's sparsely a line out the door. During the weekdays, you almost never hit a line. Their cakes are frugally simple. Their fried sustenances are strangely not chewy. They have the same staff year around..... have to try this place at least once!

I've been going to Clover Bakery for over 10 years now for their onigiri! This homey, hole-in-the-wall Japanese bakery makes the best onigiri and at a great price point too-$3 to $4.25 (compared to $5 next door where the seaweed is soggy!). I personally prefer Chinese buns or French pastries, so I haven't really tried their buns. They do have fascinating combinations like spaghetti and chow mein breads on top of the classic melon pan though. At one point, I noticed the onigiri quality took a dip with less filling, but now, they're back to their original perfection. I appreciate that the plastic wrap separates the seaweed and the rice to maintain the seaweed's crispness when eating, and it's the best feeling when the rice is still warm. My all-time favorite is the spicy tuna, and I usually also get the unagi, salmon with ikura, and spicy salmon. Clover Bakery has a special place in my heart!

Old school Japanese spot that offers really authentic pastries, and musubi's and onigiri that you would enjoy as a snack. They also have egg sandwich sandwiches and spicy tuna sandwiches like the other yelpers say it was a bit on the smaller side than what I expected, and the spicy tuna was actually really spicy. I loved my red bean pastry and for the Price in the area. This is actually pretty good. I would say overall worth the visit to grab some quick pastries bites to eat and also I saw that they offered drink drinks. I didn't get any this time but maybe next time I'll try that. The service was quick and usually there was a steady stream of customers coming in and out so the line was about medium so expect a wait about maybe 5-10minutes.

Clover is one of my go to spots to visit when I'm in San Jose. They are a small bakery that has lots of japanese pastries, sandwiches, and onigiris that you grab from the shelves. They have trays that you can place the food items on. Service is nice and friendly. We got a variety of items, but the spicy tuna sandwich stood out the most because it had a good voice kick. There is no seating inside, it's a grab and go store. But there are benches outside where you can eat.

This is the only Japanese bakery I go to in the Bay Area. No bakery serves soft, savory buns (spaghetti, fish, and katsu wrapped in banh mi style) and cutely decorated melon pans, including the variety flavors of handmade rice balls. Not even Anderson Bakery can make it fresh. They also have strawberry sando, which is made of fluffy white bread and soft whipped cream, much better than any Japanese grocery market. Although it's a far drive from the East Bay, they do open early at 8 am every day, except on Mondays. The service is friendly, Japanese-style. Every time I visit, I end up with a haul of several buns, rice balls, and a musubi since it's difficult to find this good quality in the East Bay. This cozy store is small with a mini cafe bar, but there's no seating area, so it's best to take them home to heat up in a toaster, except for the cakes. Expect a long line on weekends and mornings.

***USP: tiny Japanese bakery with a large variety of sandwiches, onigiri, pastries, cookies and other baked goodies. ***AMBIANCE: place is small and can have huge lines sometimes. No indoor seating, just pick your favorites, pay upfront and enjoy your snacks outside. ***FOOD: absolutely love the variety here. There is something for everyone. On a diet? Get the veggie cups. Vegan ? You have plenty of options as well. Prices are in the $ range, portion sizes are small and can satisfy a mini craving. Great place to pick up after school snacks. They have mini chicken teriyaki servings for $3 as well, which was surprisingly delicious given that it was not hot.

Stopped in at Clover Bakery today at the Strawberry Park Shopping Center. I've been wanting to go for a while, but I'm rarely in that area. My sister introduced me to Clover years ago and I've loved it ever since. Clover is a Japanese-style bakery with a variety of items like pastries, bread, pre-made sandwiches, cookies, croquettes, and rice balls. Today I picked up hot dog bread, a mini apple danish, and a custard cream bread. These are tiny little things that sell for $2.50 - 3.50. A couple other sweet items caught my eye, but I decided to take it easy on the pastries. I ate my treats over the course of an afternoon (while watching Netflix) and they were delicious. Other than their tasty food, I like Clover because it's a cozy bakery with handmade touches and because it's woman owned rather than a large corporate-owned chain. They have unusual flavors and combinations like strawberry sandwiches and chocolate chip melon bread. Their prices are very reasonable. There was no line at checkout and the cashier was very nice. I had no trouble finding parking close by on a Tuesday at lunchtime. The parking lot is shared by many shops and restaurants and can get very crowded on weekends.

Cute little bakery for grabbing pastries. The space is fairly small but I like the wide variety of options including lots of interesting breads. I had tried the strawberry sando which was good, but for the tiny size, it felt a bit pricey. I would say it's worth stopping by if you're in the area.

This is a Japanese bakery with sale for onagi rice balls and spam musubi. It is very creative with all kinds of combinations and ingredients. The line was long . Right side was all the bread and pastry . In the middle was the mini gray cream cake . Left side was the longest line with over 15 type of rice balls and a few different kinds of musubi . They have a cute menu with the names of all the rice balls they made in the shop . Very clean and organized. Even though there was a huge parking lot by the front door , parking is a challenge especially on Saturday and Sunday . It is an interesting place to visit and try the food items .

My most favorite Japanese bakery ever! I got my two favorite breads ever the mentaiko bun and the sausage jalapeno! They're so good. You honestly can't go wrong with any bread at this locally owned bakery and best thing yet is that they are actually affordable with breads being priced from $3-5. The mentaiko bun is savory and soft and the jalapeno sausage is spicy creamy soft and just so good . Please come to this bakery! I always miss it.

It feels like one of those tucked away neighborhood spots that you almost want to keep to yourself. The inside is bright, open, and spacious, with a really calm and welcoming feel. It's the kind of place that would be perfect for a relaxed coffee break, catching up with someone, or just grabbing something delicious on your way through downtown Santa Clara. I got the iced raspberry matcha latte, a chocolate muffin, a ham and cheese croissant, and the banana chocolate croissant. Everything looked so good that I honestly wanted to order every pastry in the case, but apparently that would've been completely unhealthy or whatever. The pastries looked fresh and beautiful, and it seems like they bake them in house. My son absolutely devoured the chocolate muffin, and I really enjoyed the ham and cheese croissant. It was simple, comforting, and exactly what I wanted. The banana chocolate croissant also looked amazing, and honestly the whole pastry case was tempting. What really stood out though was the service. There was only one person working, but he was so cool, calm, and genuinely pleasant the whole time. I asked him to walk me through the pastries because I wasn't totally sure what each one was, and he patiently explained every single one. Even when a line started to build, he still handled it so well. He acknowledged everyone and let them know he'd be right with them, which makes such a difference. People feel seen, and it shows that he's paying attention instead of just letting everyone stand there awkwardly. They also offer sandwiches, and even though we didn't try them this time, they looked really good from the photos. The price point looked around $17 to $20, but they seem packed and made with higher quality ingredients, so I'd definitely be curious to come back and try one. Overall, WhatCoffee feels like a really solid neighborhood gem. Good drinks, beautiful pastries, friendly service, and a bright welcoming space. We'll definitely be back.

Don't sleep on the black pepper sausage danish: the croissant dough is crisp and flaky, and doesn't get soggy when baked around the sausage. It's comparable in execution to the Croissant Hot Dog served at Dominique Ansel Las Vegas (in Caesar's Palace), but at a way more accessible price point. Which isn't to say this place is cheap; like many artisanal bakeries in California, it comes with a premium price tag, but at least it's not Dominique Ansel pricy. Croissante's croissant dough baked goods (viennoiserie) is pun-intended "proof" that you get what you pay for. The dining space is limited and lively. Conversing is a little tough, but if you just need a place to sit while eating, it's just right. Extra special shout out this time to Dill who had informed me the fried chicken dishes today would be an hour and a half wait. After deciding there wasn't anything I wanted more than the Fried Chicken and Spiced Croffle (croissant dough baked in a waffle iron) and was happy to wait, they were nice enough to check in with the kitchen and see if it could be made sooner than that. I didn't expect to be accommodated, so I was happy they were able to do that. You get two chicken thighs and croffles per order. It's enough for two light eaters to share.

Overall, a nice place to work at with friendly service. I might consider coming back here again if I happen to end up in the area.

I was surprised to see Big Mug as I didn't know they had other locations besides the one in the plaza near El Camino Real. There was plenty of seating available. The service was quick and friendly, and the environment was cozy for the rainy day. The space is clean. There are cute items sold in the front near the cash register from local vendors. We got two tiramisu lattes. I liked how they weren't that sweet. It felt like a nice treat that didn't weigh me down. It was a good coffee run to have before eating brunch. I liked how the menu is extensive and there is something for just about anybody. We saw a photo booth inside, but didn't use it. Overall, I think this location is tranquil compared to the other Big Mug, and their offerings are hard to beat in terms of variety. I recommend going here for your caffeine fix!

Creative drinks with a fun, modern café vibe…read more Had drinks at Coffee & Water Lab and really enjoyed the unique menu and presentation. I tried the yuzu lemonade fizz, black sesame latte, and mocha. The yuzu lemonade fizz was super refreshing, light, citrusy, and fizzy with just the right balance of tart and sweet. It felt really clean and perfect for something bright and energizing. The black sesame latte stood out the most for me. nutty, slightly earthy, and creamy without being too sweet. It's definitely a more unique flavor, but really comforting if you like deeper, roasted notes. The mocha was smooth and classic, well-balanced between chocolate and coffee without being overly sugary. Service was friendly and efficient, even when it got a bit busy. The vibe is modern and minimalist, with a clean aesthetic that makes it feel like a nice spot to hang out, work, or catch up with friends. Everything felt thoughtfully designed, from the drinks to the space. Would definitely come back to try more of their specialty drinks.

The entire cafe is full of an ordering line and a pick up line. They don't really call out the orders so we kept checking in from outside. It's cute and there is ample seating probably more tailored to a week day. My boyfriend got a burrito and said it was very fresh. Will definitely come back for coffee on a weekday (: hopefully avoid some of the crowd

Super cute and cozy place to play board games, read manga, and hang out in general!…read more Great variety of board games, manga, snacks and drinks! This place also hosts a lot of community events like Bey Blade nights or DJ lessons weekly to monthly. Snackwise, my partner and I got the Sinigang flavored tater tots, dino nuggets and popcorn chicken! The popcorn chicken was a bit dry but the tater tots and dino nuggets were crisped to perfection. The sinigang flavor is what really stood out because it's so rare to find this flavor casually. The sourness was perfection. As for the hojicha latte, the temperature was just right and the flavor is nice and strong. Definitely satisfies any hojicha craving. Love how there's a hallway that displays and sells local small artist's merchandise and how community focused this place is. 100% come here to yap, play their board games and enjoy their snacks/drinks AND attend one of their game/workshop nights. It's such a gem to find a place that has this level of coziness. 10/10 would come again.

The food and drink selection look good and I appreciate the Kpop music. However, I did not like my matcha latte. It was not because of the latte itself but because it was served in this unusual cup that felt like styrofoam. The feel of drinking from such a cup ruined the whole experience. I would much prefer an actual ceramic mug and if not, the standard paper cups that most nice cafes use.
