I had ordered my dad's birthday cake from here back in 2024 (salted yolk/pork sung/matcha mix cake), and it was absolutely delicious! This time I decided to stop by here after dinner, my first time sitting down here and ordering. The inside is very clean, modern, and Pinterest-like. They added more decorations and seating from 2 years ago, making the inside more aesthetic. whaT's More always has unique Asian flavors, like durian, earl grey, pandan, red bean, and oolong. The cakes are not too sweet, so definitely Asian parent approved haha! Unfortunately, when we came around 6:30pm, they were sold out of most flavors - so would definitely recommend coming earlier or just ordering online earlier in the morning for pickup. We got the sesame dark chocolate crepe cake. When you eat in the store, the owner provides you with free cups of tea, which are really great for washing down the cake. The chocolate was super rich, and they did not skimp out on the flavor - super chocolatey. The sesame added such a fun earthy and nutty flavor - I thoroughly enjoyed it! The cake is on the slightly denser side, so was super filling. While on the pricier side, the flavors are super unique and the craft that goes into crepe cakes is commendable. After randomly browsing Yelp and found this place, we happened to be nearby and I decided on an impromptu visit on a Saturday afternoon. The place was situated in a quiet plaza just outside of Lawrence Expressway. There's ample parking but it doesn't feel like the location is suitable for a cafe where you can picture sitting inside looking through some big windows facing a busy pedestrian walkway. However, once I stepped inside, I was surprised at how zen and peaceful the decorations were and how fitting it was for a cozy and quiet cafe hangout. The cake shelf was surprisingly busy. And this is where I took one star out because the lines were confusing and the staff skipped me to talk to the group behind me while I was clearly the next to be helped. Luckily another staff member came out from the back kitchen and jumped in to help. The staff spoke fluent mandarin. I was interested in their box cakes. A few of the yelpers raved about their soy milk cake and luckily they had one out for sampling. It was covered with lots of cream and the cake layer was soft and moist, but it was still slightly too sweet for me and I felt that it lacked the tofu kind of soy flavor. Then, I spotted on their menu that they have a black sesame matcha box cake, and black sesame is always my favorite, so I asked for it. They had the last one left! The staff said she had never tried it so she couldn't tell me if it is less sweet than the soy milk cake. Since it was the last one available and I already sampled the soy cake, I decided to give it a try. I am happy that I did. The cake was filled with matcha mousse and tasted light and aromatic with the jasmine kind of matcha flavor. It is definitely less sweet. Unfortunately, it doesn't have as much black sesame as I'd like. But overall, the cake flavor is the kind that I like, subtle, moist, and not too sweet. $38 for a box cake of 4x4 is a bit pricey, but I'm glad that I gave it a try. The cakes were freshly made and tasted best the same day of purchase. They also recommend refrigerating the cake and consuming it within a day or two. read more

My review is based solely on the preorder and pickup experience for the seasonal persimmon desserts. I kept seeing posts about whaT's More cake's persimmon cakes, so I decided to give them a try. I preordered the persimmon molten cake and the persimmon crepe cake through their website. The online ordering process was smooth, and both cakes were ready right on time for pickup. Unfortunately, the persimmon molten cake was disappointing. While I appreciated that it wasn't overly sweet, it was very mild in flavor. It tasted more like a simple sponge cake with a persimmon filling in the center, and overall, it felt quite underwhelming. In contrast, the persimmon crepe cake was much better. Each layer had persimmon cream and jam, which gave it a stronger and more pronounced persimmon flavor without being overly sweet. Came by for dessert the other day after I sad a Sponsored listing on Yelp the other day. The dessert shop is located in a strip mall facing away from Lawrence Expressway in Sunnyvale. Parking is plentiful in the parking lot. Staff were cordial and wore aprons with some letters that were falling off...seemed weird. Opted for the matcha millefeuille and it was excellent! Numerous layers of super light crepe filled with strong matcha flavor. Most importantly this wasn't too sweet! The packaging was A+. If you're Asian, that's the highest and best compliment for a dessert! If you opt to eat your cakes in store, there are cute table arrangements for you to sit down and enjoy the plants. You can ask for a free pot of hot tea of your choice. The staff will make and bring the hot tea to you for safety reason. I used to work close to What's More and it has been my escape whenever work became unbearable. Something about their perfect and well made dessert and the ambience of the store itself always work like a charm every time. My stress melts away with every bite of delicious cakes. They sometimes have seasonal items too such as soft persimmon mochis or molten cakes. Got a couple cakes and mochi here as a bday gift and it was so delicious. I tried the black sesame cake, durian cake and durian mochi. The black sesame cake has strong sesame flavor yet it was very light! I'm a huge durian fan and the cake has very large spreads of durian so I loved and the mochi is perfectly chewy! Amazing orange pistachio molten cake! It's such a simple cake, yet very flavorful and not too sweet because it's not heavy on cream (it's just the light molten part on top). Preordered their orange pistachio molten cake for pickup. The pickup was really easy you show them your confirmation and they already have the cake prepackaged. The cake was fluffy and soft the pistachio orange cream on the inside was a nice surprise. I think the ratio with cream and cake is about 50:50. What an adorable cake shop! I'm a huge fan of light fluffy asian chiffon cakes. I came to try the molten strawberry chiffon cake and it really hit the spot. The cake shop sells crepe cake slices, boxed cakes and molten chiffon cakes. If you just show up, there's a decent selection of crepe cakes, but the molten chiffon and boxed cakes tend to be a bit more limited. You can pre order them online if you want to make sure it's available for you! We were lucky enough to get their last molten chiffon cake and it was strawberry flavored! The chiffon cake itself is moist and so light and fluffy. It had a light cream top and was filled with strawberries. These cakes are meant to serve 4 people, or 2 if you want double slices :) This is going to be my new go to spot if i ever need a small cake for just a few people. The cafe itself is very cute and has a handful of tables. While they don't sell any drinks, they provide complimentary tea to drink while you eat your cake. To be honest, I was a little underwhelmed by this place. Maybe it's just not my taste but I felt underwhelmed by the flavors and that everything was way overpriced. We got to sample the raspberry pandan crepe cake and the soy milk custard box cake. The crepe cake was fine, I didn't really taste any pandan as the raspberry kind of overpowered it. The box cake really tasted like nothing and was just kind of mushy. We were initially interested in the box cake and are very glad we tried it before buying the whole thing because it was very meh. We ended up getting the creme brulee crepe cake which was also fine, it wasn't really anything that special and was like $15 for one slice. We do want to try the salted egg yolk pork floss flavor and maybe the molten lava cake one day, but as a whole we felt like nothing was that special flavor-wise, and it is really pricey. read more

The female staff was super patient and friendly when I asked her what flavors were popular and let us try samples that were laid out on top of the counter. We bought three slices of cake which costs $13.50 each (Panda Raspberry Crepe Cake, Orange Earl Grey Tea Crepe Cake, and Crème Burlee Crepe Cake) and one whole 6" cake which costs $50.00 (Orange Pistachio Molten Cake). Our favorite was the Orange Pistachio Molten Cake and the Panda Raspberry Crepe Cake. The Crème Burlee Crepe Cake and Orange Earl Grey Tea Crepe Cake were okay. The atmosphere is very relaxing, perfect for a girls' hangout. Atmosphere is calm and aesthetic is simple with a few seating areas. What's special is that they also offer free tea with your choice of flavor which you can mix and match with when you dine in. The tea paired with the cakes were a perfect match. Amazing cakes with unique and authentic flavors!! To start, this is the BEST cake I've had in awhile. Not too sweet, perfectly moist, and an amazing flavor profile! We tried their persimmon molten cake, persimmon crepe cake, and the persimmon mochi. Each pastry was loaded with delicious persimmon jam and I loved how the jam had persimmon chunks in it! The molten persimmon cake was my absolute favorite. The crepe cake was good, but between those 3, it was my least favorite. The mochi bun had a thin layer of chewy mochi and the center was filled to the brim with the amazing persimmon jam. As a heads up, it's best if you eat / finish your order the day of!! In addition, their service is fantastic. The staff member was really patient and flexible with us in managing our online order. They also gave us birthday candles and signs, which were of great quality. Inside the store, the vibe is super homey and cozy. When you order a slice in store you get a complimentary pot of tea to enjoy, so we opted for a lychee black tea that had a nice natural sweetness to it and a strong lychee flavor we all liked. Bonus points for their stylish glass teaware, which I'll be on the lookout for whenever I spot a crockery shop or stand. For their box and whole cakes, I recommend ordering online and in advance, because this place is always so busy. I went around 3pm on a weekend, and there were only a handful of boxed cakes left, and a single slice of the persimmon crepe cake, which I gladly snagged. The flavors are all incredibly interesting. The crepe cake slices and boxed cakes flavors seem to rotate daily due to limited case space but can just be ordered walking in, while the small round cakes can only be pre-ordered, I think. It looks like the earliest pick up time you can choose on the website is 4 PM (though you can request a specific time separately after placing the order) and when I asked in person, the employee told me they can probably do 1-2 pm at the earliest since they make it fresh that day. The sea salt cheese molten cake is pretty salty (way more than a cheesecake, but not like an aged cheddar or anything) and pretty much collapses upon being cut into. I'm not sure I like this one that much but it was still tasty. The salted yolk and pork sung crepe cake is a must try even if you grew up eating pork floss buns imo. The salty and sweet tastes with the creamy but also rough "floss" texture go really well together. I had to run errands for an hour the day I bought the tiramisu and creme brulee crepe cake slices and noticed the creme brulee seemed to have melted a bit while the tiramisu held its shape, but from other pictures on here I guess it's supposed to look that way. The texture of the creme brulee was quite a bit softer than the tiramisu one though. read more

It did mostly taste like orange although it was earl grey. Next time I think I'll try a box cake. Items are pricey, but they are artisan desserts in the Bay Area. The interior is gorgeous. The salted egg yolk flavors also help add a layer of depth to the cake. Earl grey crepe cake 4/5 This cake also has strong flavors ( bergamot) and pairs well with black tea. There are floral candied oranges(?) on top but I personally wasn't a fan of the gummy texture. Tiramisu 4/5 Coffee and cream flavors, nothing surprising here. Straightforward and a solid choice. Service: Attentive and fast! Ambiance: Lovely cafe setting with lots of dried florals. It's great for dates and friend hangouts. Seating is limited but if you dine in, they will serve you tea. We originally just got 1 slice of the salted yolk pork floss crepe cake because it sounded interesting, but it was more savory than I expected (thought it would be sweet and savory, but really reminded me of the pork floss buns at an Asian bakery).
