Chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream and vanilla buttercream frosting. The lion king topper was quite big and brought the whole cake together.

This person is fantastic. Lack of a website made me a little nervous at first but I left a message here via Yelp and got a fast response. We communicated the details via text. Everything was straightforward and to the point. Lots of options offered including using less dairy in the cake. Pricing was really good. I expected it to cost more for what I asking. The cake was delivered on the promised day, and let me say, it EXCEEDED my expectations. I was going in thinking most of the decorations were going to have to be plastic, but it was delivered and to my surprise, it was all edible except the tiny beach chair. This person has a fantastic eye for design, and can create pretty much anything you show as long as you have a good reference photo. I highly recommend this cake artist to anyone who has a special occasion. I write a lot of negative reviews for other things where the service was terrible, but Vanilla Flour Designs is exceptional. read more

We ordered a cake from Vanilla Flour Designs for a special birthday and was very disappointed from the quality of the cake to the customer service. We were initially excited to support a small business but it ended up being the worst experience. First the cake ended up being incredibly pricey for what it was and didn't look anything like the inspiration picture I sent over. When I pointed out the flaws of the cake, the owner just listed bullet points of excuses of how she "tried her best". Second, when I served the cake, my family pointed out how incredibly dry the inside of the cake was and how it tasted like box cake mix. There was barely any "fresh fruit" inside and the cake was nothing close to being moist. The cake photos on her instagram and yelp are nothing close to her quality of work we were given. I would 100% not recommend ordering from this business as no resolution was given. read more

My 5 year old had her birthday party last weekend and we ordered the cake + cupcakes from Mitali. Firstly, it looked incredible (exactly as the Pinterest reference image I shared) and then to clinch the deal: it tasted out of this world. All the guests raved about the cake and immediately asked where did I ordered it from. Even the packaging in which the cake was delivered was so well thought of and perfect for travelling in a car to the venue. The cake was not at all what I expected. Most of the reviews were raving about how delicious the flavors are. Our cake was dry, dense, and heavy. Also we were changed extra for strawberry filling but it tasted like cheap jam. When you cut the cake open it looks like a jelly sandwich because the actual cake is so dry and dense. Also the price point does not make any sense to me. Most of the decor on the cake was provided by me. read more

My family really wanted to support a local small business and purchased a birthday cake but the final product and quality of customer service was really disappointing. The business owner berated us for "not pointing out the flaws" when we picked up the cake when we were already rushed with her pushing the pick up time, and we waited another 10 min on her driveway late. When we pointed out the flaws of the cake and how dry it was, she said she "tried her best and we can't discredit her hard work". For a business owner to not take accountability and come up with excuses rather than solutions is extremely disappointing. Also she offered a $15 off next time we order as a solution but why would anyone come back after such a poor experience? read more

It was covered in chocolate and filled with custard, and it was just the right sweetness and not too sweet. The size was pleasing, and the custard filling was good. The cake was not enjoyable; to be fair, this might or might not be due to personal taste. It was a 3-layer vanilla cake filled with lemon mousse, covered in buttercream and white chocolate bark pieces, and topped with 10 blueberries. This flavor can be found on their website catalog. I don't know if this is typical for this bakery, but the cake was heavy, claggy on the bottom, and way too sweet. The lemon mousse tasted incredibly strange, as if it were artificial or maybe had some kind of herb or weird flavoring added. The less said about the cream, the better. The white chocolate was quite good though. I saw they had a wide variety of cake offerings, but I don't think I'd want cake from here again. I might get the choux pastry again.

We called in and the worker confirmed there are supposed to be two layers of custard in the Burnt Almond and advised me to email the owner so they could make it right. Look at the next photo. How do you as an owner - instead of simply admitting this was a rushed, dry, and unleveled cake - tell me in one message that the recipe changed because other customers had been complaining about too much custard but that you would be returning back to the original recipe? What am I, 5 years old? Just own up and say someone messed up and you'll keep the quality of your products up - but I guess that's hard to do when you ignore your long timecustomers and already got $70 for a cake that's 95% bread. I mentioned to the owner that their worker stated there would be some closure/resolve to which the owner just stopped responding. Guess when you can't be honest with your customers you...ignore them?

We ordered an eggless chocolate cake so if anyone's planning on getting an eggless cake make sure you mention to her to cut down on the sugar.
