They even mentioned their Burnt Almond Cake has always been their bestseller. First bite tasted heavenly. This had more stronger almond and Italian rum flavor and I was pleasantly surprised by the sugared almond slivers coating. The custard was absolutely generous, creamy, and divine. I'd say Peter's Bakery is more traditional, but more fluffier while Sugar Butter Flour has a more modern twist and is slightly sweeter. Their version definitely has more custard, which I personally enjoy... but this may be too sweet for the older Asian parents family. My husband and I stopped by around 7pm on a Friday for a few cakes to try as we're looking for wedding cakes. We got the hazelnut napoleon and raspberry cheesecake and these were unfortunately quite dry and hard. We were hoping it was a fluke because we had gone late at night. I returned Monday morning and got a few blueberry poppyseed lemon loaves, lemon poppyseed loaf, and a coffee cake for work. Unfortunately these were all dry and quite hard as well. I do wish they had a sign listing the fruit in each cake; they do have overall labes but I don't recall the black forest cake having indication that it included cherries. I got the Black Forest cake slice thinking it was just chocolate, but it had cherries in it (which is probably on me for not knowing) and it was not my thing, though my husband loved it. We also tried a slice of the guava cake, which my husband really enjoyed, and I thought it was fairly decent (I'm pretty picky when it comes to fruit cakes). We have been coming here for about 13 years for all our special occasion desserts. We stopped by yesterday for some little cakes and treats for my birthday. All their cakes are displayed in pastry cases and they have some custom cake replicas on the wall. They offer a variety of cakes that are already made or you can make a custom order. The owner is very sweet and helpful. Our favorites here, that I picked out, are the opera cake, the princess cake, hazelnut nut chocolate cake and burnt almond cake. They are all so good. Nice thing is, is that they have slices and smaller versions of these cakes. That way you can get a variety. Their cakes are always fresh and delicious. The strawberries were fresh and I like the custard. The outside of it has bars of white chocolate which was good but too sweet for me. I also tried a mini version of their cheesecake and famous burnt almond cake. My boyfriend liked the cheesecake but I liked the almond cake more. I ordered a birthday cake and they cancelled it the evening before the birthday. I admit it was a late order, but they shouldn't let me place an online order in the first place if they don't have the bakers to bake it. I managed to get a great cake for less than 1/3rd the price. Now the birthday is done but I'm still waiting for a refund to be initiated which they cannot process because the store manager is the only one who can do refunds and is never around. Again, if you cannot fulfill an order, they should at least refund the order automatically. I wouldn't recommend this place, their cake is overpriced and the service is terrible. read more

I gave her an image of a cake that Iiked for my daughter's birthday, she made it pretty darn exactly as the picture!
