The Toy Story themed cake up close!
    May V.

Niloofar, the owner of Emma Cakery, is the only person I ever reach out to for any event where I need a cake. She is an extraordinary baker and designs cakes and several other desserts beautifully. You can really see that she takes her time and bakes with love. Not only are her cakes beautifully designed but they are also super yummy and tasty. She lets you choose from a variety of unique flavors/fillings, so you're not stuck with basic flavors. Alongside her talents in being a baker, Niloofar is very professional and provides superb customer service. She ensures that her customer's are 100% satisfied because I definitely always am. She's always so patient with me, because whenever I have any cake inquiries, I tend to bombard her with a bunch of questions, and she is always so sweet no matter how many questions I have for her. For every inquiry, the cake I ask for is exactly what I get from her. She's always spot-on with all the details! So far, Niloofar has done a cake + cookies + cupcakes for both my son's baptism and first birthday. She also has done a cake for my son's cake smash photo shoot. She also did a cake for my 21st birthday. As you can tell, I can count on her for all my cake needs and she never lets me down. Rest-assured, quality is always there, both outside and inside of the cake... and of course in the baker herself. I highly recommend Niloofar also known as "emma_cakery" to anyone who needs a cake and other desserts for any event!

In the past year we've had several cakes made by Niloofar at Emma Cakery & every single experience has been nothing but amazing. Her attention to details, her artwork and the wonderful taste of her cakes are what makes us go back to her over & over again.

I ordered my birthday cake from Emma Cakery. Not too sweet, it was absolutely the best cake that I've ever tasted. She was super helpful in helping me figuring out the design of the cake, its flavor and how large it should be considering my guests and the type of party I was throwing. I have recommended Emma Cakery to multiple friends and have enjoyed eating the cake multiple times. I love it every single time.

I reached out for a custom cake about two weeks before my event, which is short notice for most places so I was super happy when I got a quick response back from Niloofar at Emma Cakery. She was very kind and easy to work with! The cake was beautiful and exactly as I asked for! The cake was vanilla with strawberry filling and was delicious! Thank you Niloofar again for your beautiful cake.

I found Emma Cakery via Instagram and ordered a 2-tier cherry blossom, strawberry cake for my wedding & couldn't be happier! Price is super reasonable, tastes, & looks great. Thank you Niloofar!!! Everyone loved it!

I absolutely recommend it. Both design and taste was great. Our cake was so fresh and beautiful. Our guests and I loved it. I ordered 3 times to Emma Cakery and every time I was so satisfied. My 5 year old son loved his Pjmask cake. Niloo, owner of the Emma Cakery is so professional, nice and on time.

I absolutely loved the cake with both the design and the taste. I received a lot of compliments as well!

I've ordered cakes and sweets from Niloofar twice last year. One was a buttercream strawberry cake for my mom's birthday and it was delicious! She made it really pretty with flowers and macrons. When I ordered my son's birthday cake, I was very particular about the design and showed her some pics for inspiration. She was very patient when we went back and forth to finalize the design for the cake and sweets. The custom cake, cookies and cake pops turned out so well! Everyone liked the details! Thank you Niloofar!

Not only does it get really busy after work hours, many parking spots are reserved for other businesses. It's also usually crowded inside, making snagging a seat a bit hard. It's a popular spot, and I can see why--the menu features many different bingsoo options alongside other desserts, and they're all very beautiful and cute. There's also free WiFi and bathroom access. I will note that they don't seem particularly diligent about cleaning up between customers. You pick your own seats, and when I finally found a table, there was food residue visible on the tabletop. Their prices are a little higher than some other spots in SJ (ranging from ~$13 to $19 pre-tax), and I don't think the quality of the bingsoo is noticeably better to justify the price. I tried a pricier one (the premium strawberry), and found it to be quite good, but not $20 good. Plus, some aspects seem designed more for pictures than for eating. The little cheesecake slice is a bit hard because it's cold and difficult to eat with the shaved ice. That said, their bingsoo does taste good! The fruit tasted fresh and sweet, and the portion was enough for me to share with my partner. I wish the condensed milk was provided on the side instead of already poured on top, but I didn't mind the amount they gave. I may not be back immediately in the future, but I wouldn't mind visiting again. I would probably stick to the lower-priced options myself, though. If you visit, do keep in mind that it's usually really busy--your order probably will take a minute, and whether that's worth it or not is up to you.

I chose to do a DIY regular taco with s'mores ice cream, peanut butter dip, and oreo toppings. The flavors mixed so well together! None of it was overpowering the other, so you're able to enjoy each bite and not feel overloaded by the end. They freeze dry the taco as well so it doesn't melt right away once it hits your hands. This is the perfect place to grab a sweet treat on any occasion! BIG heads up though, it can get extremely busy especially on a weekend (was here on a Sunday evening). I think we went on a day where they might've been short a few people, but we did wait over an hour for our order. From my observations there is a process for the tacos. They have to mold the ice cream in, then keep it in the freezer for a few minutes for it to hold its shape, and customize it after. If you're willing to wait that long for ice cream then I'd say this place is definitely worth it.

Pastries and breads are often not uniform in size. Pastries that come out smaller or torn, damaged still get selected to be sold to customers instead of seen as a quality defect and pulled. In comparison to premium bakeries in SF, Palo Alto, or even Los Gatos, this was disappointing. I would think it would be better to pull the one or two pastries in that tray. Heck, even Paris Baguette would pull whole trays if it didn't fit their quality standard. (But I don't know if that's still true haha.) Given its premium pricing of $8-15 a pastry, I would expect all the qualities that would justify it. They are a step above bakeries who have frozen products, but do not hit the level of premium in quality of pastry. The prices they had in the beginning were fair, but with the recent increase along with those issues, I'm sad to rate it lower.

They only sell their cookies in packs of 4, and they also have milk in their little fridge.
