Came here as a result of my regular place in Santa Clara being closed. There was a decent amount of parking (though it was quite early in the morning so that might be affecting it) and the space inside is relatively big with a lot of seating. There is a kiosk for ordering, as well as paper menus on display for you to look at, topped off with what appears to be a photobooth on the side that you can take pictures inside of for fun. I decided to get the Lavendula Latte, which the barista delivered to my table. I had forgotten to adjust the sweetness (though thinking now I can't remember if there was an option for that) but the drink had a nice balance of sweetness. Only complaint I have is that the menus lacks photos (not sure if it's lag or if there genuinely are no photos), but I'd say that the drink looks okay. You also have to use McDonalds wifi if you want to do work here, but the wifi's free and seems to be working fine so I'm not sure if that's really a negative. Overall, a nice place to work at with friendly service. I might consider coming back here again if I happen to end up in the area. read more

Stopped by here with two friends while we were waiting for our table at a brunch spot down the street. I was surprised to see Big Mug as I didn't know they had other locations besides the one in the plaza near El Camino Real. There was plenty of seating available. The service was quick and friendly, and the environment was cozy for the rainy day. The space is clean. There are cute items sold in the front near the cash register from local vendors. We got two tiramisu lattes. I liked how they weren't that sweet. It felt like a nice treat that didn't weigh me down. It was a good coffee run to have before eating brunch. I liked how the menu is extensive and there is something for just about anybody. We saw a photo booth inside, but didn't use it. Overall, I think this location is tranquil compared to the other Big Mug, and their offerings are hard to beat in terms of variety. I recommend going here for your caffeine fix! read more

It's a little more "put-together" looking than the main Big Mug Coffee Roasters location off El Camino. I enjoyed the big heavy wood table by the windows. This place has been my go-to since I work nearby, but I stopped coming for a bit after a long wait once made me late for work. I visited on a busy weekend morning. There was plenty of seating inside and lots of parking. A great place to catch up with friends, but quite loud if you need a quiet study place. I got the Pandan Paradise Decaf with no ice (they can't do it hot) and really enjoyed it! It wasn't too sweet or grassy, it's my first time trying Pandan so I'm not sure if it was the authentic flavor, but yummy nonetheless. The Pandan I believe is in the green foam on top. The barista asked if I wanted ice on the side which I thought was considerate. Service was fast, but there was also not too much rush. Plenty of parking in the complex, and the bathrooms are for customers only (code on the bottom of the receipt) and were kept clean. Such a cute coffee shop I'm sad I didn't know about it sooner! The seating is so plentiful and they even have space for a little pop up of things to buy up front and I was so incredibly tempted the stickers and keychains were calling my name but I had to politely decline. Came here on a Sunday to get some work done and I was glad to see there's so many open seatings and outlets. It's a big open space, though the decor & vibes here doesn't seems to be very cohesive. The cashier here weren't super friendly either. I tried the Tiramisu Latte and it has good amount of sweetness. It's super creamy and tasty but I can tell the coffee quality wasn't as high. The customer service was good. The employees were attentive and answered any questions you had while ordering and picking up your order. The lighting was aesthetically pleasing and it was quiet enough to do work and chat with friends. I think I may have ordered the wrong beverage for my taste, but my drink was not very sweet and mostly tasted like water and matcha. My friends tiramisu drink was delicious and pleasant, though. I am willing to try Big Mug another time if my friends ever suggest it. I'll just order a different drink instead of their strawberry matcha drink. Parking was okay on a weekend. Literally my favorite study spot. I love their tiramisu latte, which is very sweet and creamy. They have a mix of tables and couches to sit at. It can get packed but at least they have a lot of free parking available outside. You order at a kiosk. I especially love this place because they sell a small variety of notebooks, art, keychains, and skincare. And they have a Photobooth inside. Love the coffee, vibes and coziness here. I have been to Big Mug at a different location, and this is pretty similar, but a bit smaller. But at the same time it feels lighter and keeps the same comfy atmosphere here for talks, working over laptop, just enjoying the coffee cup. Parking is available in front of the building. Restroom is quite specious. You do need to keep the receipt to get the password or you can ask. The same goes for the wifi password. The staff was amazing, I really loved talking to barista. My friend and I came on a weekday after seeing some TikToks about this place. I got the Big Mug special (this may be the wrong name, but something along those lines) and my friend got the pandan drink. I honestly thought my drink was going to be bigger and also milk based since I was asked on my milk preference, and instead got something closer to a cold brew with sweet foam on top. The sweet foam was amazing, but the drink overall wasn't anything super out of the ordinary. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her pandan drink, so I think that I just didn't order the best drink for me. This is a super cute and cozy study spot with fast and reliable wifi, so if I were to be near the area again I would try it again and order something different. read more

There's a ton of natural light that comes through the windows and had the perfect table for my party of 3 to sit and work on our crafts. The lavender matcha was delicious, good matcha buzz without being overly floral tasting which I've come to find is a tough balance. The croissant was flakey, buttery and was amazing warmed up. Enjoyed the vibes here, with people socializing and others working on their computers or studying. I would say that the noise level is moderate. A nice spot to hang with friends! They have tons of seating, a creative corner where you can buy cute stationery, and a photo booth! I came on a Friday mid-day and it was pretty chill inside with no line and no wait for the photo booth. I ordered an oreo frappe and loved it. The photo booth was so fun, it's $8 for 2 strips, and they have a bunch of silly hats to choose from for your pictures. They also provide plastic slips to protect your photos which is so thoughtful!! from the get go, i was put off by their service. lady at the cash register was rude when i asked about a menu item that was listed on the front door but not at the register. we also noticed that they were serving other tables' foods on a plate but our order was tossed into some bags and just dumped onto the counter. Cafe Big Mug is a decent cafe but not particularly standout versus its competitors. To start with the drinks, they have usually been fine. The default espresso seems to lean acidic or lighter roast. The one highlight is the Mont Blanc, which I believe is cold brew with a sweet cream foam topping. The combination works well and is more refreshing than you might expect. As far as food, I've tried a few toasts, which are also fine but maybe overpriced for what you're getting. I usually order to-go but I've dined in a few times. The interior is spacious with a decent amount of seating. There's free Wi-Fi so it's not bad for working in. They had a website but it was shut down in August, to be replaced with a set of mobile apps that still don't seem available as of writing. IMO removing the website-based online ordering is a mistake, because there is more consumer friction in downloading an app for just one cafe. (You can still order with DoorDash but you're subject to other fees or weirdness of the platform.) read more

Finally found a spot where I can get away with ordering something along the likes of my fav Maru matcha drink. Been waiting and waiting for norcal to take it off with ceremonial matcha drinks + a simple not too sweet cream top. Esp with the recent addition of ceremonial matcha, Cafe big mug is hitting the spot - they have a fairly good cream top and a solid matcha! The lovely lady behind the counter was super accommodating to pair these two together, and the final drink was amazing. They have a kiosk in store for ordering, but it's actually missing a lot of menu items, so would suggest just ordering at the counter. The staff were really friendly. The inside is pretty cutesy and i saw they had some pop up in the corner and at the entrance for Asian skincare and trinkets. I also originally ordered grapefruit ade, but they ran out of the grapefruit and so I switched to yuzu. I wanted something refreshing so I got this but they had a lot of unique Asian cafe inspired coffees as well. The yuzu sparkling ade was pretty good. It was quite sweet and i actually really appreciated how much it was carbonated. I think a lot of other cafes sometimes give really flat sodas but that was not the case here. Finally found the time to visit this place yesterday afternoon. Noticed right away that it was lot less crowded. Only half a dozen. Period! The menu was a lot different than the main location. Only a small for any iced coffee drink. Had a frappe which was good and chocolaty. Well worth the price. However I had an issue with their Wi-Fi as it didn't work on my netbook. Had no problem with it at the main location. Some type of firewall issue. It did work on my smartphone. Very strange. Therefore I won't return. I love coming here for their "Pink Lady" aka strawberry match! It's one of my favorites. They also have a good selection of pasteries! One of my fav pastries here is the Nutella banana muffin. There wasn't much ambient sounds in the back which would be the perfect setting for studying. The barista who helped me was able to point out the options well and was very knowledgeable. I am lactose intolerant and hoped to try some of the lattes . Unfortunately out of the list of their specialty coffee drinks, I was resorted to just two options: the brown sugar latte or the mint au lait. I opted for the brown sugar latte and it was good. I do understand why some of the other drinks can't be switched for non dairy alternatives but it'd be nice to try. Non dairy alternatives are $1.25 additional, keep that in mind. read more

I tried the iced matcha latte, which was on the sweeter side--not sure if I liked it... The iced americano tasted a bit watered down and more acidic than I like. So as far as Vibes go... if the vibe of any given place was a heartbeat, this place would be a flat line.... There is no art on the walls, it looks like the owners may have wanted an eclectic vibe but it's not giving eclectic it's giving bare and flat! The cinnamon crisp has a sticky but bland and odd bite, not my fav! They have a couple tables along the walls with chap sticks and cheap jewelry and sunscreen so that was odd as well. The outdoor lights inside seem out of place indoors. My friend and I wanted to get some school work/personal work done so we decided to try out Cafe Big Mug. We got to the cafe around 11:00 and it was a little busy but thankfully we found seating. Overall the look/aesthetic of the inside was cute, and it was a bit chilly so they had the heaters on. Whoever was on aux and playing the music has great music taste as well! For drinks/food I got the strawberry matcha, nothing out of the ordinary or special about it, i feel like you can't go wrong with matcha. My friend did get one of their specialty drinks, i believe it was called the Tiramisu latte? She did like it but it was a little stronger than she usually likes her coffee. I also got their Nutella and banana toast, it had almonds and some honey on top, for $9 I don't think it was really worth it. This is my second time visiting , but this time around I think I had the misfortune of new staff or slower staff. It took me 35 minutes to get my coffee, with only 3-4 customers ahead of me that also received "sorries" from the staff for what sounded like missing orders or delayed orders from order mix ups / tossed order receipts. Seeing as there's no line held up, and everyone is working at a leisurely pace despite the group of customers queued up waiting for their drinks .. it was giving no urgency and not much consideration for others time. The worst part is the drinks are not bad. I've had both the Pandan paradise and mocha frappe and they're solid drinks. But for these prices ($8 for a 16oz mocha frappe) and this service it's unfortunately a hard pass for me. They definitely got sick of apologizing to everyone so the only interaction I had with the staff was just told got my Pandan was out , and I got my drink swapped to the mocha instead. Honestly kind of lame. Taking any sort of initiative to show courtesy/give a heads up would have been appreciated in the wait.
