Worst Mango coconut sago I've ever had. The sago were not cooked all the way so they were still hard in my drink. The entire cup was filled with those hard sago and a few sad pieces of mango or maybe just even mango jelly. What a waste of $8 dollars. For that money at least give your customers something that's digestible. This brand is going downhill for sure. So many better substitutes out there. Not coming back again for their drinks. What a pitiful representation of "Hong Kong handmade dessert"!
I have been here couple of times more since my last review. It's indeed a great spot for those looking for mango inspired desserts. I tried their Mango Pomelo and Passionfruit Mango Icy drinks. While I do think the drinks are expensive for what they are worth, they are still delicious. I would deduct one star for the drinks being more on the sweeter side. They cannot be customized on sweetness level as far as I am aware. I love the fact that they have tons of seating and it's a great spot for catching up with a friend. They have a restroom as well so that's pretty useful. I would still visit them again but I would suggest the owners to give the customers an option to customize the drinks on sweetness level.
Came here for their watermelon drinks because I was craving something refreshing. I got their Watermelon with Coconut Milk ($7) drink and it definitely hit the spot. Minus points for how much ice they put in the cup because you take like 5 sips and you've finished the drink. For $7, this type of drink unfortunately isn't worth it because it's so easy to make at home (watermelon juice + canned coconut milk + sugar). My BF got their Mango Yogurt drink and liked it (better value than my drink). Maybe I'll come back to try their other desserts? This seems like a good spot to study at because they have a decent amount of seating + WiFi.
Hui Lau Shan is our go-to dessert spot whenever we're in the Ranch and can't decide what we're craving. The Mango Romance is refreshing and not overly sweet, with ice cream, chewy mochi and aloe jelly adding fun layers of texture. Light, fruity, and satisfying! Only downside is the parking, which can be a bit of a challenge.
I'LL NEVER FORGIVE HUI LAU SHAN FOR LEAVING THE 626. The closest one to me is around an hour away, so when I was visiting my boyfriend and there being a closer one nearby, I had to stop at this one. Plaza is a super fisted PvP zone since there's lots of eateries, cafes, and other businesses. Just park a bit further and walk in, since no one wants to walk. Long line for people ordering as well, but I think you can order online for pick up. Strong durian smell here and it's not as cute as what the Rowland Heights location used to be (mango plushies and huge wall art of their cute mango and fruit mascots). Because of people crowding at the tables in the middle, it was hard to tell where the ordering line was until others were cutting in line. So maybe just move those tables. A bit dirtier because of the crowds, but the service was efficient despite the crowds. I got my favorite mango pomelo sago and mango chewy ball and it's delicious as any of the other locations. Delicious sweet mango taste, not too tart. Sweet and yummy and fresh. Great combination of textures and taste. Already dreaming of my next visit.
Just writing this review is making my mouth water. Everything tasted so fresh and refreshing--it's the perfect spot for a summer treat. We honestly loved everything we ordered. My only wish is that they offered more fruit options instead of focusing mostly on mango. I'd definitely love to see more variety on the menu. Other than that, I'd happily come back.
This is my go-to dessert place now. I love mangoes and whenever we go there, I end up ordering almost everything on their menu. Service is quick and ambience is nice. I did find that the place can go really crowded on a weekend evening
The mango desserts are tasty. There is a variety of different flavor combinations with mango, as well as Nancy desserts. The iced desserts and the drinks were both well made. The cafe is near and clean inside and the staff is quick and efficient. I think the desserts here are a great value. I recommend trying their Mango Chewy Ball dessert if it's your first time. I haven't tried something here that isn't good.
Always room for Asian desserts! I've always liked the texture of the mochi and they are very consistent with it! The only downside is the mango ice cream, some locations are better than others. It can sometimes have a very artificial flavor to it which I don't love but still eat it. The place gets pretty busy but the staff is pretty quick!

Delicious and fresh. I ordered the mango mochi dessert. I could taste the ripe mangoes were used in the mango smoothie. There were fresh ripe mangoes diced on the top. The mochi balls, weren't very soggy and they had the perfect chewiness to them. The mango sorbet was nice and creamy even thought was perfect. It was absolutely delicious. Perfect summer dessert. People working there were very friendly and patient when I asked them numerous questions about the menu. They made good recommendations after they figured out what I would like. It's a cute little store with enough seating for 20 -30 people. It's has a fresh nice and sunny feel and I love the ambience with the mango decor. Can't wait to go back to it try more if the desserts.

We ordered: A4 mango chew ball (ice cream on the side) $8.50 ice cream tasted more like a coconut ice cream D3 pomelo and mango with sago $8.95 Drink was good, but for some reason, sago here is frozen. There have been times where the inside of the store has weird smells...from chemicals..to sewage smells. Some seating inside. Hectic parking lot during peak hours. Not the best HLS location.

8.30.26 I love Milpitas barber lane plaza I know it can smell like garbage and smoke .. Sometimes u just want something other than boba milk tea. I also like the bag for nostalgia and it's dark and calming. No line no wait. Air condition is good because this place doesn't leave their doors open ... I hope they can come to east bay soon. read more

Anytime in this plaza, I pretty much always stop by this Hui Lau Shan location for dessert. Can often times be packed, but coming on a weekday night, there were only a few of us. The chewy ball toppings are what I come here for. Chewy (as the name implies) and just the right amount of sweet. Mango is sweet, albeit seasonal. Sometimes it may be a bit sour, but I obviously don't hold them accountable for that. For drinks, can't go wrong with anything sago. This is one of the few places that makes it right. You need to stop by this place if you like mango. Honestly their menu is extremely extensive so you should drop by here if you like chinese desserts! Taste: We loved most everything we got. I really enjoyed the taro dessert. The only complaint is that some of the mochi balls were a little too starchy. Other than that we enjoyed everything. Parking: Plaza parking! It's a bit busy so you might have to be a little patient Seating: This is quite limited. There's a free tables but that's it. read more
This is a dessert review rather than a drink review since I think their drinks are much better and I usually get drinks instead of a dessert. My wife wanted to try the dessert out so we got that instead. [[ We ordered ]] 1.) Jumbo Pomelo & Mango with Sago - $14.00 2.) Extra Topping - Chewy Ball - $1.75 3.) Extra Topping - Coconut Noodle - $1.75 [[Some notes]] (a) After tax and tip, it was close to $20. I think this is a bit pricey for dessert and the quantity given I would say isn't worth the price. (b) I highly do not recommend getting the chewy ball since I think for ~$2.00, it's not worth it. It was chewy and sweet though but I wouldn't add this as an extra in the future just based on how little you get. (c) The Coconut Noodle was good and they gave a lot so I think this is a worthwhile add on. (d) I think since the dessert came in a to-go container, it's actually really hard to share the dessert with someone since its difficult to eat. We even sat next to each other to try to make it easier but it was still hard. I recommend ordering the smaller version of the dessert twice and each person eating it by themselves. read more
Hui Lau Shan is my wife's go-to whenever she wants to get some comfort sweets! Mainly because their well known drinks are freshly made of fresh mango and they are not like boba shops that only offer teas and fruit juice drinks. We usually visit their Cupertino and Valley Fair locations, this Milpitas shop actually is a lot bigger and less crowded. read more
Hui Lau Shan is my favorite drink spot! I actually prefer this over boba. Unfortunately, there are way more boba shops out there than this place. Normally, I stop by their Cupertino store but this location is easier to get to with a larger parking lot. A big plus is also the lack of a long line compared to the other location. While their vast menu can be a bit overwhelming with all the choices, you can't go wrong with anything here. It just depends on your personal preference of fruit and combination of toppings. My usual is their mango sago or mango pomelo. Both are amazingly refreshing. The fresh mango and slightly frozen sago is heaven! I've placed my drink orders in person and online, both are efficient and surprisingly quick! The employees I've interacted here with have always been friendly. They are located at that large Asian shopping plaza on Barber Lane, about 5 or 6 stores to the left of 99Ranch. read more

Visiting SJ, we saw this place when we were exploring around the area. Decided to give it a try, we got the Jumbo Pomelo Mango w/ Sago (J2). It was very refreshing especially during these warmer days and the mango was tasty, as theyre getting into season too. Perfect dessert to split with my gf and the mango puree at the bottom was creamy and rich. Inside was clean and i appreciate how they have wet wipes at every table! Cashier was quick with our order and our dessert came within a few minutes of ordering, even during the rush when we went. read more
First time trying their Mango Pancake and it's now my favorite Hui Lau Shan item. It looks like a pillow made of very thin crepe stuffed with cream and slices of sweet ripe mango surrounded by the cream. The cream had the consistency of whipped cream mixed with marshmallow cream. You get two pieces for about $8. read more

I love Hui Lau Shan because they have so many good options with their mango desserts. For first timers, I recommend the A4 (Mango Chewy Ball), which will include mango ice cream, cut mangos, chewy balls, and blended mango slush. You can even order more chewy balls on the side to add into your cup. Honestly their mango desserts are the best and always satisfies my mango/dessert cravings. It's on the sweeter side because they use real mangos, but everything is fresh and authentic. I also recommend their C8 (Coconut Jelly with Mango) if you like coconut. This is my favorite dessert item on their menu and I always get it when I'm at Hui Lau Shan. The workers are nice, but there are barely enough seats to sit more than 5 parties in the store. I always end up buying my dessert to-go to eat at home or outside elsewhere. I wish they would add some more seating areas or tables because they have a lot of room to do so in the store. Otherwise, I do recommend mango lovers to try this place at least once! read more

More interesting and better at night than boba. Lots of mango jellies, yogurts, etc for $8. Something sure to please everyone with some sweeter than others. Fairly quick and consisent. Never a long line but always busy. Good spot after eating at a resturant in the plaza. read more
I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon. The place had a good number of people. But I still got a seat. D3 mango and pomelo sago drink was my favorite. It had a scoop of ice cream as well. It was tough to drink it through a straw. I opened it and ate with a spoon. A4 mango chewy balls bowl was my other item. It was almost the same as my first item, except for the chewy balls. It was good too, but I think I should have gone for something slightly different. read more

Small mango focused dessert shop. Very yummy. They offer physical menus so you're not stuck staring at the screen the whole time. Menu has great pics too- normally I'd look up yelp photos of food but didn't need to. Staff were friendly and we got our desserts quick. read more
Every time I pass by this plaza, this place is always busy. Luckily I went when the line wasn't too long. I got the mango coconut duo mix, jumbo mango chewy ball, and pomelo mango with sago. All three desserts were all really sweet/syrupy. Even on the desserts that were dominantly revolved around coconut, I tasted more of the sugary mango before any coconut taste. The sherbet on top, (the ice cream scoop looking thing.. I don't even know if it's even sherbet or not, it doesn't look like ice cream though) was rock hard! Literally a ball of ice. They probably weren't freshly scooped, or the entire dessert came from the fridge. The black glutinous rice of the mango coconut duo mix was really mushy, though the texture of glutinous rice should be more chewy. I was fan of the mochi balls though! Loved the chewy texture, and each dessert had a pretty good number of them. The packaging is super sturdy and tight, which is handy for transportation. The spoons and cups have adorable details: the spoons were a strong, reusable plastic with a mango character on top, while the cups had intricate mango characters on them. Adorable! I've also tried out the Cupertino location of Hui Lau Shan, but expect nothing different. The quality of the desserts are quite literally the same. Though Hui Lau Shan did not meet all expectations, I'll be back when I'm craving some mango!! read more
I have been to Hui Lau Shan in Cupertino, but this was the closest one by me on my way leaving from lunch with my brother's family. They love their mango desserts, so I asked him for a recommendation. I ended up with the Pomelo and Mango with Sago. Pomelo and Mango with Sago: This was a rather refreshing drink. The mango bits were delicious and the sago added a perfect texture for me. It was not too sweet and felt balanced. Unfortunately, I didn't realize it but I should not be eating pomelo. I know it's not a lot and it requires a concentrated amount (4 to 8 ozs), but i should not consume it just to be safe when my medication. Still, the drink was delicious overall. Mango Pomelo Sago used to be my go-to but I think I actually prefer the coconut drink more. It's still straight GAS (honorific) don't get me wrong, but I think the frozen coconut compliments the mango a lot more. Also I changed my mind about liking the Cupertino location more. Even though parking here sucks ass, the decor is so cute and has so much personality with all the figurines and Minecraft McDonald's toys on displays. The cashiers here are also always sweet. read more
I went there today ( Sunday afternoon ) for the summer special . Buy 2 drinks and got the third one free . It star tree d at 7/14 and will end 7/25 ( next Sunday ) .tehee are usually few people on the weekdays and a lot more people on the weekend . However , they are able to work efficiently and I received my drink in 3 minutes ! Taste has been great and today I ordered 3 cups of mango coconut juice with crusted jelly . read more
I tried to give this place another try. Hoping the last visit was a fluke. Confirmed, same item was not edible. I ordered the red bean soup (served Hot is what the menu reads). It was NOT hot. It's never crowded when I come here after 2pm-3pm and they always have plenty of tables and chairs available inside & outside. Clean, modern, organized & well maintained for Hong Kong desserts and sweets. Cashier staffers are always friendly and welcoming, quick and efficient. I rarely have to wait around for my takeout orders. Watermelon coconut jelly and anything mango coconut jelly are my favorites. It's still $9 per cup, but I really like the quality of taste and good size cup value. One cup is plenty for two people to share. Hui Lau Shan definitely represents the Hong Kong desserts brand very well around the San Francisco Bay Area and Las Vegas regions. Yes, do expect high prices for Hong Kong desserts. Some people like sesame stuff, pudding, sago, boba, mochi balls, jelly, etc. Most of us just want refreshing and hydrating desserts. Fruits are good picks. It's always sweet and fresh/nothing sour. Overall, good environment and very decent for quick service. Menus are always easy to read. Wide selections. I'll be back next time. read more
